This book contains lots of good information on getting started with colored pencils . A good third of the book introduces tools and basic techniques . The last third of the book takes you step by step through the layering of three separate drawings with arrows pointing out areas highlighted in that layer.

Some of the drawings in the book tend to be a bit too dark for my taste. I found the information helpful and picked up some good tips.
The style in which the book was done I felt was very engaging.

What I like most about this book is the quality of the artwork created for it by the author. It never occurred to me that I could do such wonderful pictures with coloured pencils. Oh well, now it's time for me to stop reading and start practising.
