Prealgebra is designed to meet scope and sequence requirements for a one-semester prealgebra course. The book’s organization makes it easy to adapt to a variety of course syllabi. The text introduces the fundamental concepts of algebra while addressing the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Each topic builds upon previously developed material to demonstrate the cohesiveness and structure of mathematics. The text and images in this textbook are grayscale.
Great book, very comprehensive coverage of each topic. Exercises occasionally provide incorrect answers, and accessing the cumulative review results is tedious. Even if you find them, they are restricted to "verified instructors", which is disappointing for those (re)learning math independently. This could be prevented by including an actual link that leads directly to the relevant site and granting people access to these answers. Additionally, solutions to some of the additional exercises seem missing, specifically the odd-numbered ones, so half of them lack solutions. That being said, the book is open-source, and in my opinion its overall quality more than makes up for these occasional flaws.
