You wanted more? Well, here it is! A Christmas Special Novella (just over 16,000 words) from Michel's point of view, set after the end of book eight in the Kindred Kiss Of The Dragon. A sweet surprise full of a few Kindred secrets, wrapped up in a Michel package, just in time for Christmas.
When I look at her, I see the strong, independent, courageous woman I have always seen. The sexy, confident, alluring hunter she was the first day I watched her handle a stake. The love of my life. The very air I breathe. The very blood that fuels my veins. She is everything to me. And not once when I look at her do I see anything other than perfection.
It's Christmas and Michel Durand has a lot on his mind. His kindred Nosferatin, his role on the vampire council; the Iunctio, and now a visitor long thought forgotten. Life is never simple for the five hundred year old vampire, but would he have it any other way?
In this last quick glimpse into the Kindred World we see Michel as we've always loved him. Powerful. Sexy. Hungry. Masterful. Commanding. Alluring. And in love with the kindred who stands at his side.
A short story to say thank you from the author of the Kindred Series. Enjoy! And thanks for loving Michel & Luce as much as I do.
Nicola Claire lives in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand with her husband, two teenage boys and a Miniature Schnauzer named Rudy.
A bit of a romance junkie, she can be known to devour as many as half a dozen books a week if she drinks too much coffee. But her real passion is writing sexy, romantic suspense stories with strong female leads and alpha male protagonists who know how to love them.
So far, she’s written well over 70 books. She might have caught the writing bug; here’s hoping there’s no cure!
The thing I liked most about this book is the fact that it was from Michel's POV, I was worried at first because the first quarter is sex, now don't get me wrong I've no problem with sex but the last book 'Kiss of the Dragon' had a lot more than the previous seven and at times it felt more like filler so with this only being 63 pages I was concerned. I didn't need to be of course because once this got going it was really good. Michel and Lucinda are waiting for the birth of their twins when Michel gets an unwelcome visitor from his past who threatens everything he cares about. If I'm being totally honest I would normally have given 3 stars but it was so nice to finish the series off like this that I'm giving 4 instead, just a shame it wasn't longer.
This is a short novella followed after the end of the Kindred series. Michel and Luce are waiting for their babies to be born right before Christmas. And someone from Michel's past comes into play. Michel is worried that this could hurt Lucinda, and things could go wrong. But he underestimates his Kindred when it comes to this. Luce will not stand for anyone coming between her and her Kindred.
This was a really short book in Michel's point of view. While, I sort of hated the fact that another woman came into play between these two, I really loved how Luce handled it. And I totally adored the end. It was extremely beautiful! Now, I can not seem to stay away from the Kindred world, so I will be going on to the next series! I highly recommend reading this one, it is a must!
A quick read and a sweet one. Fans of the series will enjoy this little +. The only reason i gave this short 4 stars instead of 5 is i found it too short but i think thats just because i don't want to say good bye.
Will truly miss reading about Michel and Lucinda. A wonderful peek into the lives of a fantastic couple. Definitely on my top 10 series of all times!!!!!!
Ok, so I binge-read this entire 9 book series in a week! Completely invested, zoned-in and just all there. I read so many ideas from well-known authors, such as, KMM, LKH, Chloe Neill, and Kim Harrison, in one fantastic series! The highlight of this series is the realization of just how much Michel loves Lucinda and all that he has done for her. It's stunning and breathtaking! I give it the highest 4. rating, just under a 5 cause I never actually shed a tear.
Wow!! I had waited so long to read more about Michael and Lucinda and I am really happy Dreaming Of A Blood Red Christmas included her pregnancy. Reading from Michael's perspective was interesting and defiantly different! The feeling of joy reading the book, immersing myself into their world again, breathing in the sights sounds & familiar loved characters was soothing. Just like discovering a beloved pair of shoes and slipping them on before going on an exciting adventure!! I love the full series and still believe that within the world Nicola Claire created, there is so much more.... Too many questions were left unanswered from the main series and new ones arose from this one leaving me frustrated and to be honest this Novelette should not have been a Novelette, there is just too much potential within it to be a full Novel. The back story which brings the villain shall we say, without giving too much away, to Michael & Lucinda, and the way it is handled feels like it is squished into a small Novelette. This Novelette is worth buying, it is worth reading but I do feel short changed and disappointed for the first time in Nicola Claire's work it could have been so much better- a huge smash hit, a brilliant beginning to a new series. What happened?
Wasn't much to this. They face a blast from Michels past that Lucinda handles lickity split and the babies are born. That's it. I wasn't happy with the fact that the Champion was going to let the snake into the garden thinking he had no recourse. Just doesn't sound like our Champion. Fortunately Lucindas brain was firing on all cylinders.
I saw book 1 to Samsons story was done in 2015 and nothing since and reviews indicated things were left in the air, so I think I will move on to the kids story.
I'm thrilled to have found this after finishing the series. Such a powerful event in their world. The joy jumps from the pages. I'm also thrilled that there is another series off of this that I'm sure puts together other pieces... very exciting. A threat comes from Michel's past that has the potential to upend their lives. However, light always outshines the dark. Perfect novella to be read after the series.
Lucinda is 9 months pregnant, due any minute when a female vamp with pretensions of grandeur decides to exercise her blood acord with Michel and claim him as her vampire mate. Lucinda takes her down and kicks the vamp out of the country and washes her dark with Lucinda' s light....then goes into labor and delivers twins..a boy and a girl.
Oh thank goodness for this novella!! This has just wrapped up the series nicely for me, giving me that extra I think was needed to round the series off. I loved that it was from Michel's POV, it really gives a great perspective to how much he loves Luce and then we get a quick insight to his just beginning vampire life as Luce glazes the Guest. Fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful series.
I have just finished the entire series and I am truly in awe how the author can pull such an amazing story together. I would recommend reading from the first book to truly feel the full effects of getting to know the characters and the amazing emotion they can evoke. Soon addictive I am now on to read the other series
I just finished reading a really sad book so this tale of Dreaming of a Blood Red Christmas brought enough danger and nostalgia to this series end. Vampire machinations almost became the last straw in a battle to stay in the light.
Nice little filler. Sucks when a series you fall in love with that’s had so many books and has carried you on a long journey comes to an end. I’m still not ready. I wanted one more full book :-(
I love this couple they fought each other and fought for each other and still never left their heart lose whom they was meant to be with. A heartfelt and lovely couple.
Love this series. Once I started reading I couldn't do anything else. Read every second I could. No stopping. Hated to see it end.!!!! Been along time since i was captivated as I was with this series.
