Confession Duet #2

Truth Revealed

Rate this book
It’s been a decade since I divorced the love of my life, after her confession while I was deployed.
Ten years since I spoke to Vi, my soul mate, the girl who had brought me to life only to stab me in the heart, sending me into an even darker state than where I was before I met her.
Ten years, I’ve been watching her from afar, keeping tabs.
After a decade in the Army, two Purple Hearts and a Medal of Honor under my belt, I was kicked out with an honorable discharge, knowing no other skill than One Shot One Kill. Two years later, I’m part of a group of mercenaries who carry out justice. Criminals who hide behind their fancy lawyers and power—we take care of them and make it all look like karma. And with intel from our founder, Dr. Walker, a therapist with a long list of predators whose victims were too scared to turn them in, work is plenty and fulfilling.
Until Vi begins her sessions and I discover the reality I’ve lived the past ten years was nothing but a lie, when the truth is revealed.

He slept with ow during separation and she was celibate. His character was portrayed too much as as someone who is a hypocrite and suffering from double standards. She was a martyr who was surprisingly ok about him having had other women as long as she didn't know the details......wow!

*********SPOILER ALERT-Please read at your own discretion-***********

I know this is a fantasy,an escapism from the norm but this book despite being really well written is wrong on so many different levels that I wish I could unread it.A raped victim should never have to beg for forgiveness and I'm so tired of celibate doormats & sexually promiscuous 'ex-husbands who can do no wrong. This book is going to please some readers but for those who appreciate a heroine with a steel spine, are going to be disappointed by one with a Betty Boo type of persona who turns the other cheek so readily.

“You… you own this club. You’re a Dom here.” She turns to stare seriously into my eyes. “I really don’t want to know what’s gone on with you here. I’d like to live in a fantasy bubble where you never touched another woman in the decade we lost. I know that’s not true.
“As far as that part of his life, I’m gonna go with what I don’t know can’t hurt me. I know myself. I’m a jealous person by nature. And in this case, curiosity will never get the best of me. I just really, really don’t want to know,” she implores.

“I can make that happen, Vi. If that’s what you want, I can contact every member and make them sign another nondisclosure agreement making them agree to never speak to you of anything that’s happened in this club,” I reply seriously.

“I don’t think all that’s necessary. Just… keep your past as a Dom to yourself. The other subs, I mean. Not what you’ve learned.”

Her coy smile is infectious. “I can do that, baby girl. And to answer your first question, you’re mine. I let you go once, and you can bet your sexy little ass that’ll never happen again.”

And this is a man who explodes, attacking friend & foe alike when one of them dares to innocently touch the heroine's hand.A hero who divorced his wife instantly without remorse when he hears that another man had sullied his pristine playground without further explanation. She should have erased this man whore from her memory the instant he abandoned her a decade ago.Talk about double standards.

Strange that she did not run screaming when she fully is aware that her ex husband had screwed numerous other women during their decade apart yet he left her after believing she cheated on him with a SINGLE male. The heroine is also very strangely accepting of practically everything bizarre that at times she seemed as if she had been frozen in ember and preserved only to be released at the hand of a disloyal man.

This book has zero cheating and no other women drama. The story would have been more pleasurable if the mirror had worked both ways.

I fell in love with Corbin and his "Baby Girl" Vi in Before the Lie and my heart shattered at the end of that book as their lives were torn apart. Truth Revealed takes us forward ten years showing us how each of them have suffered differently but ultimately how the love between them is still so deep in there souls it will never die. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions that will break you apart as each of them deal with what this Lie has cost them, one from telling it to protect the other and the other in actually believing the lie. The truth being revealed will allow for the healing to begin in not only the characters but in your own heart. This story has been beautifully written and is a romantic masterpiece.

Oookay then. I just did books 1&2 back-to-back and it was a ride!! This is definitely a BDSM 101 type of story. I found it VERY insightful and interesting. I freaking sat in a restaurant for an hour alone and read. I never do that! But I was so invested in Vi & Corbin and intrigued with the whole club process. Her healing with Doc was awesome. I.was.glued!! I really really REALLY liked this story! And I need more Seven. He was hysterical!!

However, chapter 9 being a repeat of chapter 8 but in the H's pov was totally a skim for me. Hearing the same exact story again with his added interjections felt super repetitive. And the use of Brock, with his first name staying the same, ummm, I'm not siding with the real-life Brock, but I feel like even though the scenarios were a bit different, using a different name altogether would have been a little better.

So I totally skipped the first book after being bored out of my mind and after reading a couple of the other peoples’s reviews. Honestly? I don’t think I missed anything.

And this one? It was ok. I liked the plot but not really the writing, as I was quite bored. So three stars for the story!

Absolutely spectacular series! Book 1 was a bit slow for me until the last quarter setting up the scene for book 2. Then...BAM...book 2 had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!! Very interesting storyline that you just didn’t see coming. As a whole, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Corbin, Seth, and the gang are one badass group of insanely hot, fierce, yet sweet collection of men. Sooo glad that I gave this author a try. Well done!

And that's how it is done!

BOOM!

First of all, Matthew Hosea...umm yeah sign me up!! but anyways, I loved this story. Amazing.

You get so much in Before The Lie and you hope with fingers and legs crossed that it ends happily but then Wham! Cliffhanger, or to me it was anyways. But then comes Truth Revealed and it just soothes your heart from being bruised.

I will say I didn't like the way Corbin was deceiving Vi but ultimately I decided it was a win win really because of the first book. Corbin and Vi will be one couple o will remember.

BDSM books are for the rare and some don't even like them and I have to wonder what's wrong with those ones? I mean come on, it is hot as hell. If anyone were to ask about this book and of they should read it I would definitely say yes.

However, very very serious Trigger warning. This book has some serious sensitive topics and most would go in blind but I would highly highly tread lightly if you have triggers for the topic of this story and you will get the topic if you've read Before The Lie.

Definitely glad I scooped this one up!

Wow!!! First this book was so hot I thought my kindle was going to catch on fire!! Lord have mercy! The time and the research that K.D. done for this book must have been intense and long. And to put that much time into something that important is such a huge deal for me as a reader. To overcome something tragic in life is so hard and everyone has there own way of dealing and shouldn't be judged and that's what K.D. got across in this book..for me anyway. ....along with all the hot sex scenes. It was the perfect conclusion to Before the Lie and answers every question that you could have with the perfect ending. Although this book will not be for everyone so read the warnings before you read. But I absolutely loved this book and would definitely recommend it! But be prepared to go through so many emotions that you might have to set your kindle down for a minute to just take a breath but then your nose will be right back in it. Again I finished in one day I was so wrapped up in this book I had to finish it!!!! Loved It!!!!!!!!

4.5* Great conclusion to Before The Lie. Vi and Corbin are ok without each other, even though there are places in their life that they're not happy with. It's been 10 years and she's still in love with him. She can't really move on.

Corbin is still in love with her and is second guessing himself. When the truth is revealed what is going to happen with these two? Will they be able to forgive and move on. If they do move on are they doing it together or is it going to be too much?

My heart ached for these two especially when the truth does come out.

I did enjoy this book. However, I felt like it was just way too short.
I know that the first book was also short, but this one could have gone significantly longer.

In this book, we see a lot of time pass from when Corbin asks for divorce, to when Vi enters the BDSM club that he owns.
I do like how Corbin becomes her Sir and the anger scene, but I feel like Vi would have been super mad that he lied about who he was. Regardless of if she still loves him. But there was no anger at all.

And then, while yes, the bad guy got to decide his fate, I feel like Corbin shouldn't have given him one. But that is just my opinion.

I think the therapy scenes were well done with Vi and Doc, but I feel seeing Corbins reaction to them while great was just a bit of filler since you read the same thing as you did in Vi's POV. So without those, it would have been significantly shorter still.

Since the author is not shy in putting in massive time jumps, I would have liked to see a better time jump for the epilogue than what was written.

Fan-freaking-tastic conclusion to this story. OMG after the killer cliff hanger of Before the Lie (book 1), I needed this!
I met and fell for Corbin and Vi in book 1 then was left with a heart shattering ending. I honesty could breathe when I finished.
But now I get the rest of their story. It was rough to read at times I felt torn in some of the subject matter. But I got it and it worked. The emotional turmoil in this book made me love it. I could not stop reading and when I had to stop reading I couldn't get the characters out of my head. I thought about what would happen when her truths were revealed, when his truths were revealed. I feared the worst!
I loved Vi, all of her strength and her so called weekness. Corbin at times I hated what he was doing but I understood and it scared me. I felt her fear, I felt her anger, I felt her heartbreak. I cried, I laughed but most importantly I felt every word. Look at all the emotion this book brought out in me. How can I not love a book that does that!

2.5 - So I didn’t know that this would be a BDSM and sexual assault recovery, themed story when I first started it, the first book definitely wasn’t, but to be honest I didn’t even read the blurb. I picked this one up because it was recommended on a ‘second chance with a long separation’ thread in a bookish FB group I’m in. So, I wasn’t completely into everything that was covered in this book, mainly the whole sexual assault therapy, but I’m not even going to go into my thoughts on that because 1. I don’t know how that feels, 2. I don’t understand of all the ways that BDSM can be therapeutic & 3. there’s no judgement from me. All I’m saying is that it wasn’t something I could relate to, having said that, I found it an interesting read, in a kinda clinical way. I did lose interest towards the end though, the mercenary stuff & the scene with Alan was a bit rushed & felt like it was just stuck stuck on at the end.

I'm glad I continued with the series, as this installment marked a clear improvement over the first. It was rich with emotion, longing, and tension between Vivian and Corbin, highlighting their strength to overcome trauma. I liked how BDSM was integrated smoothly into the intricate plot as a way of healing and education.

However, my star rating suffered because of the main character's hypocrisy—he Dom'd multiple women while stalking his ex-wife, who stayed loyal despite her own trauma. It was unsettling that his “love” for her seemed centered on "protection," yet he still became a Dom to hundreds of women. This might just be my view, but I think the FC could have benefited from exploring relationships with others too. Perhaps she would still have been uncomfortable or found it painful, but it could have shown the couple growing apart, experiencing others, and reconciling amid hardship. Instead, the story perpetuated the trope that women need to remain “clean” or “untouched” to be deserving of a man, while the man faces no consequences for being with multiple women.

I would have liked if this featured a man that didn’t enjoy lying, and then revealing he was lying to you whilst haveing his tip inside of you. Corbin deserves prison, shackles, and hell. Doc was the only one with a brain (no surprise there) and seven was too much of a golden retriever boy that he just went along with it. ON THAT NOTE, WHY THE FUCK DID THEY GO ALONG WITH IT. And in the end they act like this is fine and dandy. If i was doing that scene and was imagining being assaulted again, being put in that position and in that place again, and then my EX HUSBAND IS LIKE HEY I LOVE YOU, I WOULD NOT PROCEED TO HAVE SEX WITH, THAT WOULD CREATE MORE TRAUMA. love to give 0, but that is not possible. 1 star.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book 2 does pick up after book 1, Before the Lie. You will need to read book 1.

Book 2 is tough. It does have trigger points. For those who have been through rape it maybe a tough book for you to read.

Vi has gone back to be a shy woman, she was working at a newspaper and then quit. She works out of her house. She doesn't seem to have any friends.

Our hero Corbin has been stalking her for the last 10 yrs or so, just keeping tabs on Vi. However, he see's that she has retreated back into her shell, and doesn't let anyone in or out.

This should have been a sign for him that something had happened to her. So many twists and turns come out in this book.

Both Corbin & Vi are lost souls, who are both damaged. Will they be able to heal with therapy? Will they be able to move on with a relationship?

Vi and Corbin’s story was fantastic I loved it. I was sucked in before I was even finished with the first chapter of Before The Lie. Thank goodness I was able to read Truth Revealed after I finished BTL because I don’t think I could’ve stood having to wait to read it. KD Robichaux has a unique gift of being able to weave her stories to the point that you feel like you’re right in the book experiencing everything right along with the characters. I went through every emotion possible while reading these books that’s how good KD is at writing her stories. If you haven’t read any of her books take my advice go read them because I can definitely guarantee you will not be disappointed at all.

I really like this storyline but there were relentless and some repetitive info wedges of BDSM paperwork, NDS, instruction, equipment description and enough technical how to/not to that simply took away from the plot. Seriously chapter's of mind numbing facts. If these weren't issues then the book could have been more memorable.

This book continues the story from book 1 - important to read it first. The h thinks she's alone, she is very lonely, but H has stalked her for years. He has the wrong idea about her, but believes the lie that ruined their lives, and can't let go of her. This book is about finding redemption, and trying to live with your mistakes. I liked it but thought the H's actions were not very realistic. She was shy, but smart and I think she would have realised sooner than she did. Still loved it and will buy more from this author.

I could not put this book down! After reading the first part of the Duet, I was anxious to read the rest. I loved how strong and vulnerable the two were and how the secondary characters were just as invoked with the main couples healing. Now I’m off to read the next book of KD Robichaux’s books!

Truth Revealed by K.D. Robichaux is the second installment in the Confession Duet.
I could not wait to read how Vi and Corbin´s story continues,
I had never dreamt of these twists and turns.

Book two picks up years after where the story in Before the Lie ends.
Both are lost souls and damaged people.
How can they find a way to survive?
I loved Before the Lie, and I really really love Truth Revealed.
I love the characters and the story they tell .
5 Stars and Thank you K.D. Robichaux !

Don't be thinking this is some easy, happy romance.

To get to their happy ever after, these characters have been to hell and back.

This story is not for the faint hearted. If you're strong enough, your heart will soar, your soul will be rejoicing, and your loins tingling!!

SUPER HOT, SUPER ANGSTY, SUPER GREEN!!

I fell in love with Corbin and Vi in Before the Lie - which MUST be read before Truth Revealed (heck, you shouldn't even read the synopsis to TR before reading BtL!) - and despite the way the first book ended, I could not wait to delve back into their world.

Except the world we left is much different to the world we entered. Lives have changed, irrevocably changed from what we knew.

There are some difficult themes throughout this novel but without them, we wouldn't understand the full potential of Vi and her Corbin's relationship and bond. It was forged over rocks but once it hit the rocks, did they sail off into the sunset and happiness or let the cliff edge tempt them into permanent despair?

You'll need to read it to find out!!

Until Vi begins her sessions and I discover the reality I’ve lived the past ten years was nothing but a lie, when the truth is revealed.

This book has potential triggers for anyone that has been raped or abused. I wouldn't suggest it for those reasons to those people. This was a hard book for me to read after reading the first book. I came to love Corbin and Vi. I loved their relationship. For me, it was a thing of beauty. It was innocent, and then it wasn't. Corbin's one request is not to break his trust and Vi makes him think that she's betrayed him. The second book picks up a decade in the future and Vi is a shell of who she used to be. She hides out in her apartment and only goes out when she has too. I thought the way the author portrayed rape victims was very knowledgeable. At times, I wanted to smack Corbin upside his head, and then I wanted to hug him because it was evident he had never gotten over her.

The topics discussed in this book will not be for everyone. I know that, and I even struggled with it because I don't like these types of books. However, and this is where I have to be a well-rounded reviewer...It's a book that may or may not help someone understand the culture and why rape victims tend to get into the subculture of that world. For me, I never read Fifty Shades and never will, but that's personal preference. This book explains the inner turmoil that someone goes through when they can't outwardly express how they feel when something traumatic happens. I see it more often than I would like but this book did hit the nail on the head. The emotions evoked throughout the story are heartwrenching, and you'll need a box of tissues just for that. KD did a fantastic job of portraying two characters who had been through something that was both traumatic and at the end freeing.

The editing and formatting were a welcoming change to other books that usually have mistakes during ARC copies that I review. I didn't find a mass of errors, and it made reading a joy, and I didn't have to read twice. Usually, I like to go through twice because I pick things apart the first time and it was wonderful not to have to do that with this.

Damn this book!!!!!!!! Heartbreakingly beautiful and the sex..............WOW!!!!!!! Worth more than 5 stars

I have been waiting with bated breathe for the stunning conclusion to Vi and Corbin's heartbreakingly epic story, now I finally have it and I'm not ready to say goodbye to this couple. After my heart was ripped out and left to wallow in agony with 'Before the Lie', I was carefully and beautifully repaired chapter by chapter in the soul redeeming conclusion. Ten years after Vi made the ultimate sacrifice, she has now become a successful author. But her heart still belongs to Corbin, when fate steps in, unbeknownst to Vi she has been placed in the hands of her long lost love Corbin. Corbin has never forgotten the hurt and betrayal that he experienced from the one he loved and cherished the most, but that doesn't stop him from still watching over her in the distance. When Vi starts seeing a therapist, who just so happens to be in business with Corbin. Corbin finally finds out the truth from that life altering conversation 10yrs ago, once he discovers the truth, the very foundation and beliefs that Corbin lives by is destroyed. With Corbin secretly helping Vi come back to the vibrant woman she once was, emotions and feelings can't be ignored. But is it too late for this couple?? Can 10 years of hurt and despair be overcome?? Is their love as powerful as they thought??

KD has given us the ultimate, once in a life time couple in Corbin and Vi. There is something about this couple that is so pure and their love for one another radiates throughout this book from start to finish. My heart broke and tears were shed for the sacrifice and pain this couple endured, I have never wanted a couple to get their HEA so much before. Their strongest qualities, were also their biggest weakness and it was a thing of beauty to read how they dealt with the heart ache and rising from the ashes. The approach for Vi regaining her identity was refreshing and unique that it held me consumed and enthralled till the very end. Corbin was somewhat fragile, yet still as powerful as ever who demands your respect. This book had despair, heartbreak, truth, hurt, anger, love, the sex...... HOT ( I want me a wartenberg wheel, lol), but also hope. This story was beautifully and intricately woven tale of when life altering and all consuming grief can be turned into something of redemption and turning something ugly into something of an everlasting forever. This book deserves and needs to be a bestseller, these characters need to be talked about, this story needs to be given the respect and kudos it so rightly deserves. This love story of Corbin and Vi is like an adult/BDSM version of a Disney couple, in which their love is timeless and classic. Congratulations KD Robichaux on a stunning story that will stay with me forever!!!!!!!
