Billy Graham was an American evangelical Christian evangelist and an ordained Southern Baptist minister. Graham is best known for his evangelistic missions or “Crusades.” He believed God knew no borders or nationalities. Throughout his career, Graham preached to millions around the world. He met and prayed with every U. S. president from Dwight Eisenhower to Barack Obama.

Graham authored 34 books, including his memoir, Just As I Am. In 1983, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan. In 1996, Graham and his wife, Ruth, received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award Congress can bestow on a private citizen.

Graham married Wheaton College classmate Ruth Bell Graham in 1943. They had five children ( Ruth Graham, Gigi Graham Tchividjian, Anne Graham Lotz, Nelson, & Franklin Graham) and made their home in the mountains of North Carolina. They were married for 64 years before Ruth’s death in 2007. Graham died from natural causes on February 21, 2018, at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, at the age of 99.

This devotional is beautiful! I love the way this devotional is used in several translations including the AMP, ESV, ICB, NASB, NKJV, KJV, NIV, NLT, TLB and The Message. It is great because you get all the version with 30 days of Jesus and 90 days through the Bible. I love the ribbon attached to keep your place, but also that each page is number with the day for the calendar year. This 365 day devotional is perfect for elementary age children and is easy to understand. I love the images. This would be a perfect gift for a child's baptism or profession of faith. I love the idea of reading this to your child at night to engage them into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Don't hesitate on picking this devotional up for your children. You won't regret it. It is beautiful and you'll love the images too! Overall, my only knock against this devotional is small prayers at the end to teach children the significance of prayer, especially if your child is reading the devotional to you. I give this devotional 4.5/5 stars. Thank you to the folks at Thomas Nelson for providing me a complementary copy for review purposes only.

You might look at the name of the author and wonder what a charismatic mega-pastor could possibly have to say to children? The answer is, quite a bit. Graham imparts wisdom to children in an unexpectedly wonderful book.

The book is just as positive and sunny as the delightful, colorful, cover.

Take your child on a spiritual journey with Graham for a full year by reading a short quote from the Bible and then enjoy his thoughtful spiritual lesson with it.

Graham is never judgemental, overly preachy, or "fire and brimstone." He is always kind, compassionate, and sweet in his writing. This book is a perfect delight and perfect for any child from 5-12. I would definitely recommend it to be read and enjoyed every day. Lovely.

My Review:

Billy Graham is world renowned for his speaking and as an author. I love that He has written this little goody for children. Now I can pass down my love for this man down to the kiddos. In Hope for Each Day, the author suggests to looking to God each day for a daily bread and sustenance. He gives us not only hope but strength to face each day head on.

Each days devotional has a Bible verse and a small 2-3 paragraph lesson in it. In this lesson or devotional for the day the author explains the days Bible verse and scripture. I love the wealth of knowledge that my kids can get from this author and I really like that this devotional is good for the entire year.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.

For awhile now I have been searching for a simple and user-friendly devotional to do with my kids in the morning before we start school each day. I love this new devotional for kids from Billy Graham! It is bright, sunny, and practical. It also gives a great entry point for children to begin a daily quiet time.

Hope for Each Day is a year-long devotional organized by month and day. Each day includes a short memorable Bible Verses. The verses are mostly taken from the New King James, but also the Amplified Bible, the ESV, the Good News Translation, the International Children's Bible, and other translations. Following the verse is a short Bible story, lesson, or other story. These are just a few paragraphs long and would take no longer than three or four minutes to read.

The scripture for today, March 2, is "Lord, teach us to pray" take from the book of Luke 11:1. This devotion is a challenge to pray and to do so daily, not just in times of trouble. I love this book for its simple design and ease of use. It is appropriate for both boys and girls ages 5 to 10. Hope for Each Day would make a fantastic Easter basket addition, birthday, or baptism gift. I was going to gift my review copy, however I have decided to keep it because I want to use it with my two boys. I was given a review copy of this book by Booklookbloggers. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own and I have not been compensated.

I received a complimentary copy.

I think this book is better for middle grade kids or children that really understand deeper reading. I know it is made for kids, but some might not really know how to grasp the devotionals. Of course you could read and discuss this with any child so that they can be blessed with you and at the same time you might learn as well. This is a very faith based book.

One of the world’s most respected and loved pastors, Billy Graham, has written many books for Christians to be supported in their faith and encouraged by the hope God gives us. One of those books is a daily devotional written for adults, called Hope for Each Day Morning and Evening Devotions. Recently, this has been adapted by Diane Stortz to be appropriate for a younger age.

Each day has a short thought from Billy Graham tied to a Bible verse. It gives a visual — a real example — of living out that verse and ties it into the lesson of that particular passage. They’re short and sweet but effectively written to leave a lasting impression.

When I think about God’s love, I tend to dwell upon all the good things He has done for me. But then I must stop and realize that even when circumstances have been hard or the way unclear, God has still surrounded me with His love. God’s love is just as real and just as powerful in the darkness as it is in the light. And that is why we can have hope! — Billy Graham, preface

I appreciate how many versions of Bible translations are used and just how, in general, the book is designed. There is a ribbon bookmark and two different reading plans in the back of the book. One is “30 Days with Jesus,” which walks the reader through Jesus’ life, looking at things He did and taught here on earth. The second is “90 Days Through the Bible,” journeys through major moments of both the Old and New Testaments, from creation to Revelation.

My two children happen to be too young for this book just yet, but it’s most definitely in the future for our daily family Bible times. I’m looking forward to being able to use it for our family.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

What a wonderful devotional for older children, ages 6-10! I'm going to give a copy to my 9-year-old grandson for his birthday. It's so well organized with daily scripture reading and engaging questions for young believers. I love the bold turquoise lettering of the title for each day, the beautiful cover art, and the bright yellow bookmark. I especially enjoy reading the questions asked for personal application, like "How do we do this?" Then, answering with "By following Jesus every day of our lives! The end notes consist of 30 Days With Jesus and 90 days Through The Bible. Plus, you will find a two-sided page for your journaling. The hardcover devotional is great for home and Sunday School library. On my grandson's special day, he will be reading 'Let the peace of God rule in your hearts." (Col. 3:15)

5/5 stars. Highly recommend.

The book has a beautiful bright inviting hardback cover with a little attached bookmark to keep track of where you’re at. The book is very organized and easy to follow with the date at the top of each page, followed by the theme, a scripture and the devotional. There is a Bible reading plan and a couple pages for journaling in the back of the book which are nice little extras.
The devotions were simple, short and to the point, each one pointing to a Biblical truth or practice that is good to be reminded of. I thought the language was appropriate for a child ages 8-young teenager. The book was nice. I wouldn’t say that it blew me away, but it is a good devotional that I would recommend checking out.
