Between deadlines and dramas, animator Max Koa struggles to draw with an injured hand while trying to advance his career and his love life. Several unusual action sequences were a pleasant surprise in this funny, arty story full of colours and odd artists, some of whom are named for animation characters like Bugs Bunny and Ursula from The Little Mermaid. I’m not an artist but I enjoyed learning about the changing world of animation and catching glimpses of Los Angeles which I have yet to visit.
