Many people believe that the Bible has answers and encouragement for our lives--our questions, struggles, heartaches, and joys. But most people don't know where to find the answers within the pages of Scripture. People need a tether to Scripture and a map for journeying deeper and learning more from the Bible. Organized by topic, God's Wisdom for Women is the perfect starting point for women to easily discover what God has to say about their lives and journeys. Within each topic readers will find truth from God's Word, encouraging quotes from leading writers, practical steps, and suggestions for further reading. More than 50 topics--such as decision-making, friendship, contentment, grief, worry, guilt, and social media--cover a range of experiences, hardships, and joys, allowing women to seek hope and encouragement from Scripture for themselves and others.

Patricia A. Miller is a professor and program director for biblical counseling at Calvary University. She is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Western Illinois University, and Calvary Theological Seminary. The Millers live in the Kansas City area.
`God's Wisdom for Women' is an inspirational, spiral bound book for women by authors Patricia Miller and Rachel Gorman. There are several different topics within this book, under each topic are subtitles which pertain to that topic. For example, under the topic `Knowing God` are The Good News, Who Is God?, How to Know God, Why the Bible?, What to do with Doubt, and Sin and God's Forgiveness. Other topics include Encouragement, Daily Struggles, Difficult Challenges, and more. Scripture quotations are from any one of the following Bibles: English Standard Version, Good News Translation, The Message, New American Standard, NET, NIV, NKJV, or NLT.
The cover is very feminine looking which I love. Each subtitle is organized into several Bible verses, quotations, practical living tips, and recommended reading. This would make a great gift for a new Christian or any woman needing encouragement. One of my favorite subtitles is Social Media. Almost everyone has access to social media and knowing how to handle it is wise. Bible verses are referred to on loving God's creation, not man's imperfect systems, Make good use of your time by setting time limits and sticking to them and seek contentment with circumstances and possessions.
`God's Wisdom for Women` is easy to use as it is helpful and informative. However, I am not sure I like the spiral book bind. Seems like it would be easier for pages to tear. In general, the print is easy to read so someone with less than perfect vision should be able to read it if they are wearing glasses. So I give this book 5* out of 5*

"God's Wisdom for Women" is a simple topical guide to Bible verses on subjects related to being a woman, and a follower of Jesus. It is designed for practical use, with clear headings, plenty of margin space for notes, and spiral-bound for practicality. There are inspiring quotes next to the verses, and a list of suggestions for further reading on the subject at the end of each section. I see this book as being a sort of "field guide," flipping to it for suggestions of where to head next in my walk with Christ, both in Scripture, and in further reading. There were a few subjects that I wished were covered in more depth, such as vocation and work, but I was impressed at the number of categories included. My favorite parts were when the author included a personal note of how God had spoken to her through a particular verse, and I would have loved to see more of that and less quotes from other authors on the subject. The subject of "mothering" caught my interest right away, being a mother of small children, and I loved some of the unexpected verses they chose to include. One was Ephesians 2:10, which I have read many times, but never in the context of motherhood. It launched me on a further study of what "good works that God prepared for us" would mean. A book that inspires me to read more of the Bible, and opens my mind to thinking of familiar Scriptures in new ways is one that I value and will use often.

God's Wisdom for Women is a topical scriptural and encouragement, spiral bound book for women by authors Patricia Miller and Rachel Gorman. What I love about this book, is the several topics and the subtitles that are underneath each topic. Some of the topics include Daily Struggles, Knowing God, Lifestyle, Encouragement, Relationships, Difficult challenges, and more. It then unpacks more topics in expansion in various translations such as English Standard Version, NIV, NKJV, NLT, The Message and other translations. God’s Wisdom for Women: Topical Scripture and Encouragement by Patricia Miller and Rachel Gorman is a women’s devotional that explores topics such as daily struggles, relationships, knowing God, and having a godly lifestyle. I like the book’s thoroughness and attention to detail; the authors do a great job of breaking down and interpreting various Bible passages and applying those passages to daily life.
One of my favorite devotions was the one that focused on hope, reminding readers that God is our only true source of hope. I also like how the authors give a “Recommended Reading” list for books related to each topic; in the “Hope” devotion, for example, one of the recommended books is Joni Eareckson Tada’s Gaining a Hopeful Spirit. The book as a whole offers a healthy dose of

This book of topical scripture & encouragement has been such a helpful resource to me as a busy mom striving to grow in the grace & knowledge of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. The sections are brief enough to read in one sitting, but give plenty of thought to last throughout the day & beyond. Topics are relevant & I have frequently referred to this with various situations or struggles - parenting dilemmas, sins of my own heart, comforting a friend with a sick child. I found it to be accurate to the scriptures. I also appreciated the suggestions for recommended further reading, & have greatly expanded my to-read list!! Highly recommend. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. It is great book to have in your collection. It is divided by topics. I have found the devotional/or authors thoughts backed up with scripture directly on point. They also have added in each section recommendations readings for the subject at hand. The sections have selected readings by different authors and they also offer a section for practical living with concrete steps and/or actions you can take to deepen your relationship with God. This little book is by my bedside and has quickly become a favorite and a must have. I am thinking of purchasing extra copies as gifts.
I found this book to be a quick and easy "field guide" for topics relating to women and Christianity. "The gospel is good news, absolute truth. The battle has already been won! And this good news changes everything." (pg 17) I read this book straight through the first time and really enjoyed it. I will also keep it as a reference point/devotional for slow re-read as I love the insights of how it looks at so many life issues for encouragement, biblical foundation, and to remember we are not the only one going through these life circumstances and wrestling through feelings each step of the way. Whether you want a good book to read through and get good material overall, or if you need help with a particular area, this book is well organized for a great and encouraging read!

I have really enjoyed "God’s Wisdom for Women" by Patricia Miller and Rachel Gorman. I love that the topics are broken down into small sections. They make great daily devotions You don't have to necessarily read from beginning to end. I also enjoy that this Christian book is riddled with scripture. Sometimes books that are focused on The Lord can turn into more opinion than fact from the Living Word of God. Great read.
