I strongly believe all of us have a choice. We are empowered to live the life we desire. Every ordinary person like you and me can embark on an extraordinary life journey. Everyone has a book in us. And this is mine. This is my journey about changing my course after two decades of corporate life in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong to enter a new territory which turns out to be more rewarding and fulfilling. I wish for you to be inspired and motivated to create your purposeful and happy life right from this moment. It all begins when you stop blaming. Be positive. Be empowered. You have a choice. YOU can make things happen too!
I just received the book last week and didn't expect myself to finish reading it in just a week. It is an easy read which put me into much deeper thinking after reading. I could totally feel the warmth and authenticity of the author, sharing her experience as some of us do - self doubt, lack of confidence, self-talk, etc... and how she could beautifully ventured into something new just with her own belief and passion in people including giving herself an opportunity instead of blaming. Such a simple yet powerful story, feel totally connected and great resonance that we all have a choice. I am conscious much more than ever to ask myself whenever I feel I do not have a choice, is it true that I do not have a choice or is it just that I have chosen to think I have no choice. Honest reflections follow, insightful and also let me see the beauty of just being open and honest with our own selves.
I happened to get this book from someone who was selling it on Carousell and I bought it over thinking that it’s nothing to lose if I just pay RM20 for this book. I was in the midst of all sorts of chaos from work to family to relationship. The book reached me and just like any self-help books that I have been associating myself to, I started to read hoping to get some clues from the author. Eventually only to realise that the author - in the simple authentic language - didn’t offer me answers. Rather the sharing prompted me to think of what it is for myself and the answers that I have to seek from within me. Now with much clarity in my life, I am thankfully and gradually moving forward . Stop Blaming - my new mantra. 🙏🏻
I admire the author's courage and humility to be vulnerable in this book, sharing her struggles and the lessons learnt along the way. It feels like Pei Yin invites you into her thoughts as she analyzes her life experiences and her journey towards change. Be prepared to think along as there will be lessons that readers can apply to their own life. If there were more anecdotes and stories, this book would be an even better read. Overall, Pei Yin's story is a valuable encouragement that all of us can change our lives if we are willing to take the responsibility and step out of our comfort zones.
A simple book, yet so much of resonance with my own experience. It may appear to someone as a “nothing such a big deal” to leave corporate world after 2 decades, but i felt strongly what the author wanted to express and emphasise about the opportunities and courage that one can give to ourselves which can lead us to a different life. My key take away is we all have a choice. Even when we are saying to ourselves “we have no choice”- we should really provoke ourselves whether it’s just that we have chosen to think we have no choice so that we feel better as it’s someone’s faults.. love it!
Very practical. Felt so much of strength with me as I was reading this book during the difficult time in my time. I could really sense the author's authenticity as I was reading the book. Has also made me think about many important aspects in life I didn't think of and helping to build a different perspective in my life. Thanks for writing this book.
Once you pick up the book, you feel as though Peiyin is sitting right there to help you. She guides you through her colourful life journey from a Malaysian village to global cities, all the while discovering a natural career call into coaching. You would leave behind your blame and burden. You want to explore and look to your rightful destination as your turn each page. It is a most empathetic, authentic and powerful read!
Very easy read. Simple words and yet impactful. You use your own story to inspire others and I feel you were talking to me through your book. I hope more people can read and be inspired by you through your true self in the book. Just So sincere.
It's wonderful to read this book if you have ever thought about changing your direction, your career or your life. I like the way it is written starting with a personal story, which is a very interesting and inspiring story, followed by a series of insightful coaching journeys. The latter part of the book consists of reflection bulletins that can be used as a catalyst for readers' own reflections. The book is all at once a story, a guidebook and an inspiration.
Feeling inspired and motivated after reading the book . Once you stop blaming, you can make things happen!!!!!! Believe in yourself. Be positive, be empowered! Go back to the driver's seat
When reading the book, I feel that it is an honest sharing of the author's experience. It feels as if she is talking to each and every reader of her book and earnestly conveying her messages therein. I'm sure many of us out there could relate to her life stories. Many of us are struggling to make ends meet and doing the job that we hate. Most of us are afraid to quit our job and leave behind stable income. We are too scared to leave our comfort zone. Her story is just another proof that we can make things happen if we are brave enough to take the first step and never give up. I hope more people will read her book and be inspired.
