Lab Romance

Rate this book
David is a scientist based in Oxford, whose private life is almost as functional as the shelves in his lab. He knows what he needs (he learned it from a book), and everything seems to be in a perfect order in his life. He has good sex, his fair share of handsome dates, a former boyfriend who is always there, if he feels like going to London… not only that! He has a true friend he can always rely on, fun-loving colleagues, a great city at his feet, with all its splendour and vice, yet there is a glaring gap in his life. He’s missing IT. And it’s no other than IT comes right where he lives in the shape of a dashing Greek medic, Markos. They are attracted to each other immediately and can make a great couple, but he wouldn’t be David if he just went for it. He manages to put Markos off… then again and again, until finally it becomes clear that only the power of love can mend what was broken by mind.

'Lab Romance' is 36,000 word story in the MM romance genre with HEA ending.

About the author

Brad Tanner

Brad Tanner had his heart broken and mended numerous times (twice actually). Now he reflects on the past in his stories.

Brad grew up as a shy and studious person. He never realized he was gay until his late twenties. Perhaps he just kissed the wrong kind of men before that.

Brad doesn’t rule out he might be an alien from Venus or a reincarnation of Leonardo. Of course, it must be someone great and gay and ahead of his time.

When he’s not at work or writing, Brad loves cuddling up with a good book and a man, not necessarily in that order.

He lives in Oxford, UK.

4.5 stars David and Markos

They meet at the gym and the attraction is instant. They only give the other a look...
Then they see each other at a club, Markos has a guy all over him....
The next time they meet it's when they are introduced as colleagues. They both work at the lab at the research institute in Oxford. Different discipline but close enough to see each other often.

When they finally have a nice conversation and even a date David throws with mud.
And gone is Markos.
David an intelligent but lonely medical with a bad attitude and at the age of thirty eight with one priority...his job...he just forgot how to interact with guys.

Markos is much younger than David...when they give it another try again it doesn't work.
But there is more underneath exterior and when they both see it they try again......it really seems to work...Only fate has other plans for them...

I loved all the medical terms, some I didn't understand fully but it was all very convincing and I was just to lazy to seek it up on Google...I absorbed it all.
Very well written, entertaining, funny, witty and with a nice steamy scene...
Even David was a dork sometimes, I really liked him a lot and Markos..... you can only love him.
The story was very just how I like them. Great environments, good developing, feelings all over and sweet David and Markos both have lovely flawed personalities...and a HEA
Four point five hoorays to Lab Romance.

So here we have the much anticipated Lab Romance by Brad Tanner and it did not disappoint in the slightest.
A stand alone romance that is engaging from start to finish and written with Brad’s usual originality and flair.
We have David a scientist, he has his life mapped out and very ordered but underneath it all is quite lonely.
We then have Markos, a bit more of a free spirit you might say but when they meet there does seem to be that spark, that sexual chemistry that is as undeniable as it obvious to those around them.
This is quite a journey that’s not always plain sailing as worries, misunderstandings and plain old foot in mouth syndrome seems to maybe derail this couple quite a bit…but will it work out, can they both ever get on the same page so to speak?
Brad has written this book in the third person, i love that but if you’re unsure i promise it works very well in this book, the story flows seamlessly from one chapter to the next whilst still bringing the detail that we are now used to from this talented author. I ought to mention that this book is very well edited which makes this book very easy to read, with no disruption.
There are some absolutely banging secondary characters that bring that lighthearted feel to the book, again this lightens the whole thing making it feel like a complete experience, and giving you that much needed smile. Each character has its place, none superfluous to the plot, and each one individual.
I enjoyed David and Markos’s story very much and became a champion for them, cheering for them during the happy times and sad and frustrated for them during tougher times ( even to the point of kindle throwing I tell you!!!).
So take a chance and pick up this book, its a rollercoaster from the start but leaves you very very satisfied by the very end!
Thank you once again Brad.

David and Markos at first seem like a scientific experiment gone wrong; There's little to NO chemistry between them, the particles aren't aligning correctly, the physiology seems all wrong.
Once they sort through these issues though is when the EUREKA moment strikes!!
An absolutely fantastic read! Loved it! I think if i had to pick any issue with it though, for me personally it was the fact that there were a lot of scientific things mentioned that went completely over my head! Never was any good at Science at school!!

Ugh

Frances was annoying, pages of science jargon took me out of the story, and the 2 main characters had more mood swings than teenage girls. 1 star because I finished the book.
