What Happens When The Vampire King Falls For His Lowly Werewolf Bodyguard?
Vampires and werewolves have always been enemies. Their races were in constant tension for power. For eons, the vampires maintained control over the land but now the wolves were growing impatient – it was time for a new age – a revolution.
But the revolution will not begin with the wolves, but with a vampire. The king of vampires. Willis Vaughn. When he falls in love with his werewolf guard there is nothing that can stop him from breaking the century-long feud between the species. He will do whatever must be done to ensure that he mates with the one that he loves – even if it means killing his own betrothed.
Willis knows he cannot live without Lance, but will Lance turn his back on the pack to be with the enemy? Will he become a traitor just to prove his alliance to the vampire king? Will vampires and werewolves ever learn to get along?

The vampire was an asshat - selfish for getting his werewolf guard injured and sadistic the way he took his virginity. The writing was simplistic, almost child-like. DNF after the awful sex scene.
Just awful. Something that you'd expect to find on Wattpad written by a kid. There's no nuance, explanation, character description, world building, or anything that would make this readable, happening in this book. The plot is like a poorly made box containing all the stilted and cliche dialogue the writer could think of. The one sex scene is as awkward as the flirting scene where the King has the werewolf in a "headlock." The villain is a high school mean girl. The pregnancy makes zero sense. His water breaks and is on the floor? Contractions? Let's give him a cesarean section. I won't even go into the socio-political aspects of the book, that are completely ignored once they are mentioned. Just awful.
The Vampire's Bodyguard was a great short story. It had a nice storyline and cast of characters. I liked the chemistry between Vampire King Willis Vaughn and werewolf bodyguard Lance and how the king was able to change the path the kingdom was going down. He followed his heart and married the one he loved and he managed to end the war between the vampires and werewolves at the same time. I also loved that there was a full term pregnancy in the book and the epilog did a great job showing us how happy everybody was. The book did still have some editing errors but it was a lot better than a lot of his books. I have not read the extra books at the end. I have only read the Vampire's Bodyguard. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Unfortunately there are too many things that aren’t working for me in this book. POVs changing frequently, even on the same page. A basic, cliche plot. Layout issues in the ebook - paragraph spacing, indents in odd spots. Tense changes. So many unnesseary words...
I encourage the author to find writing groups, new experienced beta readers, and an editor.
It’s not horrible. The author just needs a lot more practice or honest feedback.
At the beginning and throughout the whole book I sometimes got the feeling the king is insane. He reacts in a way that you can only question his sanity or his IQ. The way the book is written is pleasant enough but the storyline is questionable. Sorry, only 2 stars from me.
A beautiful story of 2 species overcoming all odds to be together and forge a better life for both species. Willis, the vampire king, and his werewolf bodyguard forge a life together as mates and make a better life for both species in the kingdom.
This story is a wonderful read. I really enjoyed all the twist and turns. Willis is a vampire king and Lance is his warewolf bodyguard.. In a time when vampires and werewolves are ennemies and werewolves are seen as beneath vampires, they are starting to revolt.. Willis knows he has to intervene before things escalate to far. But when Lance is wounded while protecting him, Willis comes to realize that he has fallen in love with his bodyguard.. The biggest problem comes in the form of Willis ex- fiancee the highly Luna.. When Willis announces that he and Lance are to be married and are expecting thier first child, and that vampires and werewolves will now be equals. Luna decides it's time to het rid of Lance and the child... will Willis be able to save them or will he loose the best thing that ever happened to him.
The Vampire's Bodyguard is a quick read, about an hour's read time, but there is a lot packed into that hour. It's a fast-paced story with action, treachery, and romance, all intertwined to make for a fun page-turner. I've read some of the romances by this author, but this is my first PNR - it won't be my last!
