Book Five in the Forging of a Knight series! For the sake of a forbidden love, Qualtan will find himself on the run with a Mah-Zakim to free her from her curse, or be consumed by it. No longer a knight, his friends now turned against him, how great will the price be that must be paid? Can a Mah-Zakim truly love back, or has the curse that has followed the First Knight for so long come true at last?
An avid fan of myths and fantasy, I have always had a passion for reading and writing. My background includes an M.A. in clinical psychology from Roosevelt University as well as an M.A. in industrial/organizational psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I’ve also achieved PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. I instruct adult learners in resume development, and work as a full time recruiting manager. In addition, I am also an amateur cartoonist, having taken classes at the Art Institute of Chicago.
This is a fairly long book that follows Qualtran, the "First Knight" and two other knights, Glaive, Vanessa and a host of other characters. It is apparently Book 5 of an epic fantasy, so the first question is, what happens if you haven't read the earlier ones? There are many references to them, but I do not think it makes any particular difficulty. The plot is rather episodic, and I am not going to discuss it as any discussion would spoil what arises, other than to say it is rather complicated. Each step advances sensibly from where it is at that time, although since a certain degree of magic is involved prediction is difficult, other than with the main characters. The characterization is good, it has the elements of a quest in it, and the barriers to success are as much due to various doses of pride, arrogance, sloth, etc that are liberally sprinkled around. The world building is exceptional, and if you want dark evil background, it is here. Also present is a place of good, less well described, but to make up for that there is Snowflake, a white cat with a horn, very sharp claws, who can talk, and definitely one not to get on the wrong side of. Vanessa is a spirit entity that feeds on humans, draining their life essence. The story is told at a good pace in a relaxed writing style, however there are two negatives there: the writing is somewhat verbose, and the characters make somewhat long speeches at times rather than conversing, and this tends to take away tension. The story is complete, and in some ways it involves more than one complete story, yet the last chapter makes it clear there is a further book coming.
This epic fantasy book is the fifth book in Hugo Negron's The Forge of a Knight series. It is a science fiction novel that has pleasantly surprised me. I bought this book for its striking cover and I found a masterpiece! The story centers on Qualtan who carries the title of First Knight, he is the bearer of the magic blade, known as the Golden Flame. A great curse stalks him, and everything that one day he believed in disappeared. He finds himself alone fighting for a forbidden love. Will this knight win despite everything he's been through? It should be noted that the language is very careful, and within the plot the action is subject to the feelings and motivations of the characters. I immersed myself in an exciting and addictive reading that would took me every night several hours of adventures between swords, fantastic creatures and magic. It is a book that will make lovers of the genre happy and that managed to hook me from its beginning until the end and introduced me to a fantastic and wonderful world. It is a novel that has more than 500 pages but the reading doesn't becomes heavy, on the contrary, you enjoy each chapter, each moment of action, and each character.
In my case, it was my first approach to a writing by Hugo Negron but, it will not be the last one. I have already prepared his previous novel to start reading it. I certainly recommend reading this book.
The story continues and the book´s cover invites you again to indulge yourself in the pleasure of reading. “Knighhood´s end” is the last book in the series called “Forging of a Knight. Hugo V. Negron has made such an engaging and wonderful collection of novels that you will want to read them again. This time the plot concerns with the main character, Qualtran, who must fight for a forbidden love which is not the only problem for him. Unfortunately, Qualtram finds himself surrounded by harsh situations, too. One of them is that he believes that a curse surrounds him and the other is that his own friends turn against him. So, he strives to figure out what is the best thing to do. The story is very interesting, compelling and full of action. I really enjoyed this epic final. Also, I found the writing style engaging and readable. What I liked most is that there are lots of vivid descriptions that make you feel that you are in the story. While reading, you let your imagination flow. I thoroughly recommend this book.
“Forging of a Knight” is a science-fiction book written by Hugo Valentin Negron. It is the last one in the Knighthood’s series. Something that called my attention was its artwork in the front cover and when I read the description I knew that this one will kept me entertained during these hard times. This fiction book is written for a general audience.
This well-written and fascinating book tells the story of Qualtan, who is living a forbidden love. He will have an incredible adventure to have his love back or will have to pay a curse that has followed the First Knight for a very long time.
This book contains forty–two chapters. Each chapter is more exciting than the last one, but if I have to choose one I would say that my favourite is the last one, but all of the parts are full of twists and turns that keep you biting your nails.
I had an amazing time with this book. It is well worth reading. Don’t miss it. I highly recommend it!
Forging of a Knight: Knighthood’s End is written by Hugo Valentin Negron, a fan of legends, myths and folktales. It is the fifth science- fiction book in the Forging of a Knight series and it is addressed to a general audience. Part fantasy thriller and part drama, this piece of work tells the story of Qualtan, who lives a forbidden love, and the price he is willing to pay for it. While it is a long book (538 pages) fantasy lovers should definitely check it out. The characters are all beautifully fleshed out, especially the protagonist of the story; as reader, I could feel his pain, frustration, anger, and despair. In his shoes, I'd feel the exact same way. I found myself cheering him on throughout the novel. This book made me feel anxious, but in the best possible way. l loved Forging of a Knight and I can't wait for more to come! Know that these books are on the top of my re-read list! I would recommend it!
Knighthood's End is the fifth in the Forging of a Knight series by author, Hugo V. Negron. Though I've seen these fantasy novels labeled as being for children and teens, adults are easily enthralled as well. At least I was. I have not read the first four installments so I did have to play catch up some but the author made even that easy.
Negron's writing is simple but by no means dull. All of the characters seem to be well developed and dynamic. Characters and dialogue can make or break a book for me. This author managed to create dialogue that has that sense of old-world cadence without the excessive wordiness that readers, especially young readers, tend to shy away from.
In Knighthood's End, we follow Qualtan and a Mah-Zakim as they navigate this complex world full of mythical creatures and curses. There is plenty of action to go around in between lessons in friendship, loyalty, and even romance. Huge Negron has created a vast and vivid fantasy world for you to fall deep into and I suggest that you do so.
