It is a very short but very powerful book on social engineering, social psychology or mass manipulation, but even more so as it travels around the United States and what has been imported or at least hidden from us in France, which we are beginning to discover in a deleterious climate of authoritarian health policy. It teaches us or re-teaches us the means to fight cognitive dissonance through politics, the media, the marketing of big corporations. It is a kind of guide through history, on how to see clearly the reality of events without falling into dystopia. I won't tell you more for once, but it's worth reading; that's why I've shared it widely around me, as a recommendation, because it's topical and can help you at the end...you'll discover it if you read it. You will also learn a lot about the great Aristotle or Plato with the Fifth Republic that everyone praises but which is basically unenviable in its ideas because we can be part of the elite and remain humble and altruistic.

Short and sweet. Plenty of references in regards to sources and case studies. Found myself taking more notes than any book prior. My only complaint is the author should've withheld from bringing up controversial topics which were irrelevant to the topic of the book, such as the Sumerians. Though these things are very interesting they surely are enough to discredit him in the eyes of non-skeptic individuals. Additionally he spent alot of time bringing up religious factors. I'm not knocking anyone's faith, and sure on the topic of brainwashing, the bible is of importance, but Christianity seemed to pop up alot throughout this book, typically in regards to hope, should've kept his faith at the door. But other than that I learned a few interesting facts and was intrigued throughout.

A very short book written in 85, this book is short but it is considered a classic, it is very well written but all the subjects and topics are presented in a very brief manner, so if you are not too familiar with the subject matter you will actually not understand or believe it needs more data in order to have a better grip. And that is the major problem with this book, it throws some points but does not present the whole data so people can check these issues for themselves. It is an interesting book anyway.

this book is spot on. takes you on a very short, relateable, and well though out journey to illustrate how we ended up where we are now. it's a good starting point as well as a fantastic summary in topics related to the control of the immense power of our minds. you hold the key, don't give it up
