Usually with bundles like this, I expect short, empty stories that progress quickly, but I was pleasantly surprised by several of these titles. Rescuing Lady Bugs was the only book I didn't like. The characters truly lacked depth, Maura is a spoiled girl who, at the age of 25, has never had to work for anything in her life. Her mother is self centered and conniving. Wheb gorgeous Jason drops by, Maura looses all sense of control. As a Christian, Jason knows the Bible speaks clearly about dating non Christians but he procedes to do as he wishes. The entire story is completely predictable from the start with a quite boring ending.
Unrelenting Tide surprised me a little, as I was not expecting a mystery in the middle of romance novels. Again, boy gets his girl, completely predictable from the start, but the ending was unexpected. But Shania Hayne really??
None So Blind - I adore everything Chauntonia writes, and this book has always been a favorite. Dani wakes up, in a bed, in a home, next to her husband, all of which is suddenly unfamiliar to her. This story tells of David's amazing faith in God, and love for His wife, as she literally figures out who she is, and who God meant for her to be. The author really puts time into developing each character and truly giving them a personality. I always feel like I know her characters inside and out.
Mr Write - I've read the majority of her books and very much enjoy them. I don't feel they are as deep as the previous author, but they are fun. Gavin, having two children, fresh off a major job loss, divorce, and life change, becomes the nanny for widow Bethany who has never known love. Very sweet story about selfless love, and the amazingness that is Gavin. The only thing confusing is the title. Because I know the backstory with Dorie and Jeremiah, and the others, I understood it, but in this book, writing and CANDID makes very little sense because there's not much mention of Gavin's writing except a few snippets.
Random Acts of Cupid - I so wish this was a much longer book, reaching more into the characters' stories. I think it's quite predictable, but in a longer format, we'd be able to really get to know them. I adore Cupid and the things she does for others. It would have been lovely to see the same things done for her, just not so fast.
When you purchase a collection of books like this you don't always know what you're getting into. Based on overall editing job of the entire collection I would give it 3.5 stars as there were formatting errors, typos, other minor things. However Amazon dissent do half stars so...
The first story was horrible. Bad writing, terrible dialogue... boring. I skipped it and thankfully the rest were much better. Not a great lead off though.
Third story None so blind: gutsy and unique and well written though I'm not sure I liked the plot. Still very brave and fascinating.
With the exception of the first story, I think most people would enjoy this collection
I loved the characters and the storyline. This was a new look to romance and I loved the way they used his anger and judgement to make her defense like a court case. A truly enjoyable story.
