When's It My Turn?: A Collection of Short Stories

Rate this book
When’s It My Turn? is a collection of short stories of the frustrations, pitfalls, and joys of the journey of motherhood. These true anecdotes expose the inner thoughts and feelings of moms brave enough to share, in hopes that other moms will say, “ME TOO!” Sometimes, as a mom, you need a break from the daily grind to laugh, connect, and reacquaint yourself with the woman buried beneath the duties of motherhood. Moms, permission is granted! Throw a #tempertantrum! We understand and will be here to hand you a glass of wine. At the end of the day, we love our kiddos and wouldn’t want to change a thing on this amazing adventure. But once in a while it’s okay to ask, When’s It MY Turn?

I read most of this in one sitting and really enjoyed and sympathized with these three ladies. Then my boys got a stomach virus, my husband got a cold and we got a new puppy we had been waiting for! This all happened in the span of two days. No sleep was had for 5. When I finally got back to reading this, the next chapter was titled 'I want my mom' and it was like this woman had a camera in my house. She was telling my story, even down to the Teen Titans marathon. While reading this I have definitely found "My People"!

My favorite parts of the book were the Motherhood Resumes and Things No One Tells you sections.

Thank you ladies for writing this book and letting me laugh with you and at myself.

I was skeptical this book would be another group of Moms complaining about motherhood. It is anything but that. When's it My Turn? Is a true to life collection of the joys, annoyances, challenges and celebrations of motherhood. It's raw honesty will have you laughing, crying and feeling validated. I recommend this book for anyone who is a mother or anyone who has a mother.
