Abby has grown accustomed to being indulged by her husband, the wealthy, powerful businessman Marcus Donovan, even to the point of being allowed to live in her own apartment for a period of time after she ran away in rebellion against the rules he put in place for her. But everything changes when one of his rivals displays an alarming level of interest in her.Knowing that his wayward wife is in serious danger, Marcus does not hesitate to take her in hand. Once Abby has been brought back to his estate, he makes it clear he will expect her to do as she is told and from now on any disobedience will earn her a painful, humiliating bare-bottom spanking. More embarrassing still, Marcus quickly proves more than willing to involve members of his staff in her punishments when he feels that a particularly shameful chastisement is needed.Though his firm-handed discipline frequently leaves her with blushing cheeks and a sore bottom, Marcus' stern dominance and masterful lovemaking rekindle the passion they once shared and Abby soon finds herself falling in love with him all over again. But will his decision to assign her a full-time bodyguard prove sufficient to keep her safe from the schemes of his enemies?Publisher's Donovan's Rules includes spankings, sexual scenes, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
She was in danger because of her husband. If he hadn't turned her into a Stepford wife and insist she obey his and everyone else's every rule, she would have had the gumption to . While I get that these books are fantasy, the husband does NOT understand the purpose of dd, which is to make the submissive stronger , not weaker.
I did give this book a 4, even tho I was a little irritated about how how she went along too easily with his controlling behavior, but what really irked me to no end, was Marcus allowing Jackson to ‘help’ him with Abby’s ‘punishments’, going so far as to hold her breasts and put a vibrator inside of her!! And then he involves Louise right off the bat, cand makes Abby APOLOGIZE to Louise! Abby didn’t even know who she was, or what the hell she was really even doing there! Marcus didn’t even explain to Abby anything! He gave Louise (Jackson) total control over her and she had to be ‘a good girl’ or they would run and ‘tattle’ to Marcus, if she didn’t ‘mind them’ and then humiliate her!! To me that meant his complete lack of respect for Abigail. To let them do those things to her, treat her like a child, follow Abby around like a babysitter, and not even asking Abby if she liked Louise!!! He let Louise dress her, tell her what to do, get her ready for his ‘punishments’ like she was a freaking 5 year old who had 0 common sense!! Marcus treated Jackson and Louise with more respect, and with more dignity than his own wife!! Hmmm It borders on obsession as well as Stockholm syndrome. I do believe that they loved each other, and I did enjoy the sexy scenes, as well as some of the punishments…..it’s his need to humiliate her that I can’t deal with. And Louise. And Jackson.
Well written with very appealing characters. Loved the story and the ending was very fun. A little kink thrown in to strengthen it but not enough to make the story boring. Enjoyed it.
....I am perplexed that Abby thought she was letting Marcus down when she didn't handle getting punished gracefully. Who would? A good spanking is supposed to hurt. Dominant male, sassy lady. He'll come out on top, but only because she wants it.
If all of Sassa Daniels books are like this one I would read all of them. So far I have only read this one. The only issue I have with them is they are just not long enough.Keep up the good work.
I received a copy from Stormy Night Publications and I voluntarily reviewed this book.
The is my first book by Sassa Daniels but it won't be my last. I really enjoyed this entertaining book. The story and characters are well developed and fleshed out. The added non-romantic elements added to the overall appreciation of this fine story. I disagree with the blurb saying that Abby is a wayward wife, she was looking to do something fulfilling with her life and grew dis-satisfied with her marriage. Thankfully, Marcus could see the problem in his marriage and rectify the situation. I didn't agree with all the things that Marcus did or had done to Abby but his caring and love, overshadowed the actions I didn't care for. I will definitely be looking forward to more books from this author.
