West’s second novel in the POW/MIA Truth Series challenges readers to question everything they have been told about the Vietnam War, including the lie that “everyone came home."

Nine years after his son went missing in Vietnam, Walter Greene’s mind is tormented by the unknown: What happened to his boy? And why did the Department of Defense unexpectedly change his status from missing in action to killed in action without supporting evidence of death?.
Having recently come across secret information that indicates PFC Thomas Greene might have been abandoned in Vietnam, he is confronted by a government operative who warns against digging into his son’s disappearance.
In the meantime, strange and unexplainable things have begun to happen: flashing lights at the harbor, ghostly footsteps in his house, and the sound of a piano late at night. When a stranger shows up claiming to have proof his son is alive, Greene enters into a treacherous game of cat and mouse.
But what is real? And what lives inside Walter Greene’s imagination?
R Cyril West is the award winning author of THE THIN WALL and SOME NEVER FORGET.
His stories focus on people who are driven to the brink, pushed to their darkest and most uncomfortable moment, from which they must make a life-changing decision. Themes are heavily influenced by military and veteran's issues.
His first two novels expose the lies that all American prisoners of war came home from Vietnam. They didn't. THE THIN WALL and SOME NEVER FORGET are based upon truth. The forewords to these novels are penned by Chip Beck, an ex POW/MIA investigator and CIA operative, and Bob Smith, a former United States Senator and presidential candidate. Senator Smith also served as vice-chair of the United States Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs (1990s).
Mr. West’s new novel INFAMOUS 1 portrays a young man’s fall from grace after his life is shattered following the death of his father in Afghanistan. INFAMOUS 1 sends a positive message to young people about walking the line between right and wrong. It evokes tragedy, suffering, and human darkness.
No matter how one chooses to classify this novel, I was riveted from beginning to end. A Vietnam era novel that dealt with unanswered questions about MIA/POW's, it is obvious that R. Cyril West knows about what he writes. However, the twists and turns that he takes the reader through are fascinating!
Walter Greene is an emotional wreck after his son is KIA/MIA or POW in Vietnam. He does not know for sure what happened to Tommy and it's eating him alive. He cannot trust anything the government is telling him. He believes there are shadow organizations within the government that are trying to cover-up what really happened over there. His friends and neighbors think he's losing his mind. The author has done such a wonderful job that the reader isn't sure what to believe! The last sentence of the book ensures that I'll be waiting impatiently for the next book!
It was a real privilege to read and review this book for Mr. West.
CHARACTER ASSASSINATION In the early 1950s, Walter Greene claimed to have seen and overheard CIA operatives planning the assassination of a Central American dictator. Because no one else can substantiate his “wild claim” a government operative uses this as an example to discredit his assertions of prisoner abandonment in Vietnam. The feds also label Greene as delusional and schizophrenic. Do you believe, as the author insinuates, that the government resorts to character assassination as part of its plan to discredit those seeking the truth about missing military personnel?
WHEN THE INNOCENT BECOME THE PREY Alex Bannon, the former college girlfriend of PFC Thomas Greene (missing in Vietnam) sets off on a quest to meet Walter Greene. She wants to tell him how much his son meant to her. Seeking to mend her broken heart, she ultimately finds herself caught up in the middle of a deadly conspiracy to hide the truth. Do you believe this scenario is pure fiction? Or can you imagine that something like this might have really happened to innocent citizens in the past?
WHO IS FIRE WOLF Nine years after he went missing in Vietnam, Walter Greene manages to keep the painful memories of his son alive, while refusing to accept the unproven claim that he was killed in action. How does Fire Wolf, the delinquent teenager who arrives one day to help with odd jobs on Greene’s property, provide enlightenment? Is he a real person? Or an imaginary one? Could he be the spirit of Greene’s dead father who has come back to heal his pain? If so, is Fire Wolf a Kooshdakhaa, a dangerous and mythical Tlingit shape-shifting creature?
WOULD YOU RISK YOUR LIFE TO SAVE A POW? t the time the story takes place, in 1980, do you believe it would have been possible for civilians (in this case local militia members) to locate and rescue an American POW in Vietnam? Walter Greene’s friend, a mysterious Vietnam veteran who is away fighting alongside the Contra rebels in Nicaragua, has a plan for such action. Given the circumstances in “Some Never Forget” would you have volunteered to join the team to rescue Walter’s imprisoned son?
I personally served during Korean war, sixty year member of America Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Do not think that we are given the right information and they often tell us only what the politicians want us to hear.
'Some Never Forget' is a beautiful yet haunting story about a father's struggle to deal with the loss of his son. From the first page you are drawn into the story. It's not difficult to connect with Tommy and admire him for wanting to do his duty by serving our country. So many Men and Women have walked this same path. The further into the book you get the more you sympathize with Walter Greene and want him to find his son. When Alex, Tommy's love, goes to meet Walter you feel her pain and joy.
This story is based on the conspiracy that many of our soldiers are left behind by our country. Left to endure POW camps or continue to fight against the enemy. 'Some Never Forget' makes you question what has happened to our POW/MIA soldiers.
Really digs into the head of a man as he falls into mental darkness. Did the government really abandon soldiers in Vietnam? Makes you wonder. The author presents the case here in a believable way. Elements of creepiness kept me turning the pages.
Another great story about all the dishonorable things the US government has done to our young men and women who have fought in horrendous wars in the name of freedom.
We are proud to announce that SOME NEVER FORGET: A POW/MIA Truth Novel by R. Cyril West is a B.R.A.G.Medallion Honoree. This tells readers that this book is well worth their time and money!
I have friends who were in Vietnam. Some did not come back alive but all returned home. The search for the missing must not end. This story alerts us to that need.
