Bad Things #6

Tempted By Fate

Rate this book
You can't cheat Fate...and for the record, she really doesn't like it when you betray her, either.

Leo is used to having power. After all, he carries the title Lord of the Light for a reason--he's a supernatural powerhouse and his job is protect all of the "light" paranormals in the world. He's used to snapping his fingers and getting anything--or anyone--he wants.  But when he fell for Fate, Leo learned that power didn't get a man everything.  In fact, it didn't even get him the one woman he wanted most...

Fate...AKA Mora (that's the name she prefers to use--a lot less weighty on her shoulders) has spent centuries hiding from her supernatural ex-lover, Leo. Most people fear Leo and rightly so.  He's got immense power and a definite date with an unfortunate end-of-the-world calamity.   When Leo seduced Mora and promised to put the world at her feet, she actually thought the guy had fallen for her. Too late, she discovered he was just using her in an attempt to change his destiny.

And Leo's destiny? It's not pretty. Some very, very bad things are coming for him. Mora shouldn't care about the danger he faces. She should turn her back on her ex. His heart is ice cold, she knows that, but her own heart...it's still a little weak where Leo is concerned.

Leo has tried to walk on the side of good for a long time...but his sins are coming back to haunt him. A darkness is trying to consume him, and if Mora can't help him...then it's not just Leo who will pay the price for his past. The whole world will change.

You think you know the Lord of the Light? Think again.

I loved this!!! Leo and Mora were awesome! Leo gave some fantastic grovel and it could just be wishful thinking, but it seemed like he was celibate since leaving Mora. I liked everything about this book! I would love for Dax to get a book- he seemed like a tortured hero that needs a good mate!

4.5⭐️

I was waiting for Leo's book from the moment I finished reading book 1. And wow it did not disappoint. And oh boy what a twist!!
Did I feel like Leo redeemed himself? IMO he absolutely did.
He was completely obsessed with his heroine and the heroine did not fell at his feet the first time she saw him again.

I wonder if this is the end of the series? Will we get books about Dax, Trina and Merius?? Hopefully we will I would love to read about them.

Ladies if you want a good grovel then you have found the right book!!!
5 stars for hero AND heroine which barely ever happens. Especially because the heroine did not take him back easily and she certainly wasn't a doormat.
This series needs to continue!!!

"4.5 epic grovel stars!"

Oh man... the grovel in this one is awesome. I found a winner in Mora. She is attracted to Leo BUT according to her, she is more than just her body. She listens to her mind too. And after what he did, she made him work for it and it was epic.! She just didn't fall right away into his arms. He even begged her on his f*cking knees. The grovel whore in me was having a happy dance when he did this.

To be fair with Leo, he really proved to her that she matters. He was willing to sacrifice anything and everything. All he needed was her. *swoon*

I could make some room for Leo in my heart but Luke had it first (feeling silly). There's just something about Luke that got to me.

And that twist? Holy Guacamole... wasn't expecting it at all. I was dumbfounded. That last scene with Luke when he was thinking of raising a little hell in heaven was funny. Luke, Luke, Luke. :)

They say Fate is a fickle mistress but I suspect Leo might have something to say about that! Yes Fate just happens to be embodied in a real person and Leo has spent eons trying to track her down. Trouble is Mora aka Fate has deliberately hid from her former lover and with good reason as the two brothers are foretold to destroy the balance but hey when has Leo ever listened to anyone?
Finally we get Leo's book and well the author really outdid herself with this story. I mean come on who amongst my fellow readers has ever really warmed to Leo? Yes he's Lord of the Light so technically on the side of the Angels ( sorry I couldn't resist the pun) but he has never shown any endearing qualities during this series and frankly has been a major pain in the posterior! Yet it looks like the author and of course Luke ( my favourite conniving bad guy) were perhaps not as oblivious to what the possible outcome could be!
Oo I've no wish to spoil this so will simply say it's not quite as straightforward as I had imagined. There is something that I'd guessed at as the delicious Luke has been pretty much happily meddling in people's lives but here we learn that perhaps he's not the only one . I'm not completely sure just why Leo has done the things he has done but cannot pretend the outcomes haven't brought him to a place were everything is on the line. Mora loves Leo and probably always has and there's no doubt that together they set the pages on fire yet she's a wily one , putting the pieces in place and prepared to sacrifice for the greater good. Honestly my lips are sealed but I can joyfully confirm that at the end of this book the author suggests revisiting this series and catching up with perhaps one or two characters that whilst remaining on the fringes have actually been pretty instrumental in giving us fabulous paranormal romance. I for one can't wait as I can truthfully say I've loved these books.
This voluntary review is I believe a fair expression of my honest opinion

I have loved Leo the most throughout the whole series. He came off as a jerk, worse than Luke, but NO ONE, not even his soul mate Fate stopped and thought what he was doing. He was slowly alienating every single friends he had and making sure they take Luke's side when the final battle emerges, including the part of his soul, his soul mate Fate, so that he wouldn't have to kill him. SO that everyone would choose Luke over him. No one understood him, no one cared about him. I am sorry to say, not even fate, and certainly not Luke. They may have turned and Leo ended up with the evil side, but he always did belong to the good. The amount of sacrifices he made was unthinkable. While Luke has been befriending people, even being the evil, so that he himself would be the last one standing, Leo embraced everyone's hatred, including Fate's if that meant Luke would be the last one standing. So tell me who's side to take, and how can one not love this man?

the Lord of the Light x his Fate
finally we get the much hated antihero’s love story and godd was it good
i’m a sucker for second chance romances, when done right and i loved every single second of this book!

so mora and leo used to be in love, till one day leo betrays her and leaves in the middle of the night without saying a word
he ofc does have some major reasons for his actions but ends up breaking the mora’s heart.

though he does try to find her again, the h uses magic to hide from him for centuries…
and what does leo do?
like a lovesick puppy, this guy looks for her around the world for centuries like crazyy till he finds her
did i mention i’m in love with leo?

second chance romance✨
chosen mates💍
“drama, angst, tension” the holy trifecta⚜️
possessive H🤌🏻
experienced h🤩
strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers🪐
“you betrayed me so i hate you but i still find you hot”🦋☁️
H searches for the h for centuries😫
lots of pushing away by h🫠

h is a mastermind!!!👀
H goes into a frenzy after seeing the h hurt😌
H calls her baby at vulnerable moments and helps her through panic attacks😭😭
“i might be a monster but i’m your monster”🫶🏼🫶🏼
HEA <3

i have a soft spot for villains who do evil deeds without any remorse whatsoever yet melt into a puddle of feelings whenever they see the fl🦋🦋🦋
i absolutely adored leo and the way he pinned after mora and never once gave up on them and always put mora first😭🤌🏻🤩💗

Safety
no virgins/manwhores
no om/ow drama
no cheating
centuries long separation
literally nothing explicitly mentioned about either of the character’s celibacy
but there were numerous indictions and hints that the hero was celibate, so ig its really open to a reader’s interpretation

some of my fav quotes💌💌💌

“I’ve…missed you.”
Her eyes squeezed shut. He had not just said that to her. He had not let his voice dip and go all tender as if the years hadn’t passed in a horrible, terrible, painful blur. As if he hadn’t taken her heart and ripped it right out of her chest.

“I nearly tore this world apart for you.”
“Ego.” She shook her head. “You couldn’t stand that I—”
“You mattered.”
Her lower lip trembled. “Liar.”
Not to her. He’d vowed never to lie to her again.

“I have hungered for you. I have longed for you. You haunt me, do you realize that?” His voice was a rasp. His heart thundered in his chest. “I wake up at night, reaching for you. But you’re not there. You’re never there.”

Her face was the only one he ever remembered. Her body was the only one he craved. She didn’t get just how fully she’d marked him so long ago.

“I just killed for her.” His gaze held Luke’s. “No one hurts her. No one uses her.”
Luke’s chin notched up.
“Not even you, brother?”
Leo took that hit.
“Not even me.”

“I lost you…” He kissed her again. But softer, with more seduction, as if he were trying to woo her. “I lost you, and I swear, my whole life seemed to go dark.”
A fist squeezed her heart…No, no, it can’t be…
Because of me?

“I need you, Mora. I want to fucking kiss every single inch of you. You gave me a taste before, but I need you again. I will always need you. Always crave you.”
She was afraid that she’d always crave him, too.

Review posted on Got Fiction? book blog

In the Bad Things series, Luke and Leo are twins. The lords of the dark (Luke) and light (Leo). The first book is Luke’s and through it all, Leo is a dick. Seriously. He’s been like that the whole series, so reading his story was refreshing to see his motivation.

He’s been searching for Fate (she goes by Mora now), but he left her a couple thousand years ago, and she met a bad end. So she reinvented herself and left. He’s been looking for her ever since, but not for the reasons she thinks.

Mora has been avoiding Leo for a really long time. She thinks he betrayed her. He didn’t realize how much he truly loved her until she left.

She had a vision once that Luke and Leo would fight and destroy the world. From book one, all we’ve ever known is that the brothers avoid each other, even though they were close as boys. They’re identical twins, but opposite in every other way. Leo controls the creatures of the light, and Luke controls creatures of the dark. Each brother feels the other avoids him because he doesn’t like him. However, we find out that it’s because each brother is trying to save the other. Can’t fight and destroy the world if they aren’t ever in the same room.

When Leo gets a tip on how to find Mora, we find out that he’s willing to do anything to keep her. He’s also afraid he’ll lose her again. That’s probably the only thing he fears. But Mora is literally Fate. She knows a lot more than she’s let on, and she has been moving players into place for centuries. I thought the ending was pretty awesome and moved her up on my list of bad-ass heroines.

This book has a good grovel, a really good grovel, like the kind we Romance readers live for. The happy ending was indeed happy. I kind of want to see Leo apologize to his brother though. Maybe that’ll come in the next book, after walking a while in his shoes.

But I still think he’s a dick.

***I bought this book

UPDATE

I'm speechless the moment I read the last word and finish this book. What a freaking ride.

Leo?
I do admit that I hated Leo since Luke's book. But damn, Leo makes me fall in love hard with him and I keep on swooning over him. He's just so deliciously perfect. He messed up with Mora the first time but he doesn't take the second chance for granted, he bulldoze his way into Mora's life and heart.

description

Mora aka Fate?
Mora blows my mind, she's so strong and powerful. Her life is hard with people keep on targeting her and trying to kill her. She's been making other people's life and fate change for the better. It's must have been very stressful to live with that heavy loads of responsibilities but Mora manage and conquer it. I do love Mora and I think Leo and Mora are match made in heaven/hell <3.
description

ps, Luke is still and forever will be my favorite twins (that won't change). When I read the last paragraph, I was dumbstruck and amazed by Luke's cleverness. Would totally love and can't wait to see how he will play his new role.

Yasss, it's Leo.

Actually I don't like Leo but I can't wait for this lol

"Fate doesn't play," she whispered. "Fate isn't cruel. She isn't kind. She just is. Why don't people see that?"

I love this series, and I liked Mora and Leo's story…but…I dunno, I didn't love them. In fact I rounded my rating up, mostly because of Luke and his parts in the book. Mora grew on me and the more I read, the more I liked her. But by the end of the book I found I had mixed feelings about her and her entire backstory. But as a general rule (with books and TV shows) I do try not to over-analyze or over-think too much. It's just so much more enjoyable if you just take it as it is and at face value. If you open up that can of worms too far, everything becomes unrealistic and plot holes and inconsistencies become glaring. And at that point, it's just like why bother? Especially with a book like this. So as long as I don't look to deep, I ended up really liking Mora. And Leo…well, to be honest he was a bit of a disappointment. I liked him well enough, but he felt flat. Especially with this being his book. And maybe I'm remembering wrong, it has been awhile since I've read the previous books, but I thought he would be funnier. I know I've been looking forward to his story for quite a few books now, and now that I'm done with it…meh. The guy barely talked, and most of his inner dialogue was pretty one-track. "Found Mora. Missed Mora. Want to fuck Mora. Gonna keep Mora." I mean, there's nothing wrong with it, per say…but still…kinda disappointed. And the story was good, but I think everyone saw the big "plot twist" coming a mile away. But I get the feeling it wasn't supposed to be much of a surprise, so the whole wasn't shocking or anything. But overall it was a good story, and a good addition to the series. I'm looking forward to more. But I didn't love it, and the only reason it got 4 stars was because I absolutely do love Luke Thorne and his parts in this book were worth a star on their own.

Leo was pretty sure his mind fucking exploded.
The thunder of his heartbeat, the smell of her skin…that was all he knew.
Leo held her tight and understood she was his fate.

He pressed a kiss to her temple as he pulled her close against him. His body was warm and strong, and she just wanted to stay there, wrapped in his arms, pretending that they were a normal couple.
Humans had a perfect life. Did they realize it? They could fall in love, get married, and have a family. They could be happy, never knowing about all the monsters and the evil that lurked in the darkness.
She didn't have that luxury. She knew too well what waited.
But she wanted to pretend, for just a little while. What was the harm in pretending?
The monsters would be at her door soon enough. But for this moment…
Her eyes drifted closed.
I'll pretend.
She'd pretend that Leo loved her. That they had a future waiting.
It was such a pretty fantasy.

~

"The real question is…can you handle it? Can you handle me?" Even as he asked the question, he feared her answer. If she was afraid, if she wanted to leave him, could he stand back? Could he let her go?
"I can handle anything." She gave him a smile that broke his heart. "Haven't you heard? I'm Fate. Immortal. Everlasting." Mora closed the distance between them.
"You're Mora." You're mine. I can't lose you. I will fight anyone and anything for you. He pulled her against him. Their bodies brushed. His hand rose and curled under her chin as he tipped back her head. "This is it…the only chance I can give you."
"A chance to do what?"
He could stare into her eyes forever. "To run away from the big, bad beast."
Mora licked her lips. Then she rose onto her toes and pressed her silken lips against his. "You are bad."
His muscles locked down.
"And I know you carry a beast inside of you." She nipped his lower lip. "But I will never, ever run from you. Not again."
Then it was done. No going back. Not for either of them.
He took her mouth, kissing her with a rush of passion and driving need. Mora. His Mora. Not afraid of him. Even knowing the darkness that plagued him, his beast…
She still wanted him.

~

Her lips lifted in the faintest smile. "Do you remember the first day we met? Probably not, I mean, it was centuries ago-"
"You wore white and you were standing at the foot of a volcano. One that was about to erupt. I thought you were absolutely mad because I didn't realize who you were, not at first. I raced to you because I wanted to keep you safe."
Her smile slipped.
"Your back was to me, but then you turned, and I saw your face. I stopped. I froze right then and there." And he'd known that everything was going to change for him. "That was the first time I saw you."
Her face had softened. Her hand lifted and touched his cheek. "You planned to use me."
I planned to love you.

~

"I don't like being manipulated."
Weariness tugged at her. "No, you just like manipulating others. I have to confess, though, I truly could not have done all this without you. Sometimes, I swear it was like we were partners. We both wanted the exact same thing…"
"And what is that same thing?"
She licked her lips. "For you and Leo to survive. For the balance to be maintained. For life to keep going."
He waited. She didn't say anything else.
Luke rolled his eyes. "Seriously, what the hell are you? A greeting card?"
"I'm Fate.

I'm going to start out this review by saying I was not a big fan of Leo's in this series. That's one of the reasons it took me so long to read this book. I wasn't super interested in his story. For the Lord of the Light he did some not so good things. However, by the end of this book I really did like Leo and well, he definitely had his reasons.

Leo has been looking for Fate (or Mora as she now calls herself) ever since he betrayed her centuries ago. Thanks to helping about Sabrina and Adam in the previous books, he's finally found her again. Thus starts a journey together that is full of surprises.

I'm enjoying this series and with the changes that occur in this book, I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the books, hoping she writes some more.

I'll finish this review by saying yet again, I absolutely adore Luke Thorn. No matter what happened in this book, he'll forever be my fave. :)

♥ Luke glanced back down at the markings. He’d lied…a bit. That was part of who he was.

Quotes & Faves:

“You hid from me for centuries. I tore this world apart looking for you.” He shook his head. “But you weren’t there. The whole planet went dark, and I nearly lost my sanity…because you weren’t there.”

His head tilted back so that he could stare up at her. “Give me the payback. Give me a way to take the pain from you. Give it all to me. We both know I fucking deserve it. And I’ll take it.”

She was staring into the mirror. “I’m saying it was my fate to fall in love with you…and the pain that came after was the price for trying to claim something that I should never have.”

This was fantastic! It's been so long since I've read such a good PNR.

I'll be honest I only read this because I was SO in the mood to read about a hero on his knees groveling (I've read some bad book boyfriends this week y'all.) This book did not disappoint in terms of good grovel, but to my surprise I actually ended up really invested in everything else in the story. I was totally hooked. Really, really loved this one.

(4.5 stars) This was my favorite book in the series. There were some great twists and turns - even though a few were anticipated.

I'm thrilled to learn that the series doesn't end here. According to Cynthia Eden, "... as far as the Bad Things are concerned…this isn’t the end. I’m going to let readers help me decide which characters should get a future book or novella." There were several characters introduced in this book that could be the lead in a future installment and I look forward to them all.

It's been such fun being able to read these six books back-to-back over the last couple of days. I recommend it to all PNR fans - especially those who like a nice mix of supernaturals and steamy romances.

Skimmed DNF.
The h (thousand plus years old) talks like a teenager (who can’t say bad words).

She calls her kidnappers jerks🙄. She sounds like she’s in middle school.

“Then Leo turned to go after the jerk…and probably pound him some more.”

You know, how through random circumstances in life you find yourself in the company of people who you don't usually hang out with? You maybe know them superficially, or you're barely acquaintances. And through circumstances, when people who you barely know start telling you about their relationships with their significant others, you see they're gaslighting themselves into believing their love is one of a kind, something from the movies, when in reality it's toxic AF. From the sidelines, as an observer, you can tell that in no way their love is fit for any kind of story apart from horror or psychological thrillers.

But you can't really tell them that. That their relationship is toxic and unhealthy, that what they've been through together is not a sign of strength and perseverance, but more a sign of a really unhealthy codependent relationship, and where one party continuously ends up hurt, physically, mentally or emotionally.

This is how this book made me feel. Mora keeps getting hurt, but at this point she almost wilfully blind to the fact that Leo is possessive, abusive, controlling, overbearing, extremely aggressive. And I really can't read this any longer. At least the next book in the series is fun, while this book just is not. This book makes me feel stressed and I don't read to feel stressed.

Mora (Fate) has been hiding from Leo after he left her heartbroken but even worst, he left her in danger. So she's been cloaked against him being able to find her for centuries because she doesn't trust him and doesn't want to see him again. She has a bar called Resurrection and is happy with her life for the most part. So when Leo finds her, she's shocked and not happy about it but there's something different about Leo and he wants to prove to her that he loves her and wants her back.

Leo has spent centuries trying to find the only woman he's ever truly loved. The fact that he's been without her for centuries has taken a toll on him. Leo is the lord of the light and he has a twin brother, Luke who is the lord of the dark and they know their fate is to fight to the death at some point. Leo wants Mora to scry his future again and find out if anything has changed because he doesn't want to fight his brother.

When Mora finds herself in danger again and Leo finally is told what all happened to her the last time he left, he's so shocked and sick about it that I thought he was going to flip out. He has a dragon inside him that he hardly ever let's out because when he let's go that much he's capable of really hurting or killing people and he doesn't want to do that.

Mora ends up giving Leo a second chance and we see Luke and Leo actually getting along somewhat. As the story nears the end we find out that someone has been betraying Leo for a really long time and we find out why. The twists at the end of this book really set this up for a great ending. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to give too much away but this was a great book.

First of all, don’t judge yet.
Listen, it’s not the book, It’s just kind of my thing you know, I don’t like second chance romance esp if the one who did wrong is the hero. I’m not big on forgiveness.
And this just rubbed me the wrong way, hmm.

Warning: The sentences below get a bit of spoilers, IMO, it will not reveal the plot or anything, it’s just teeny tiny point.

I know the heroine is the one who hide, who cloak herself so the hero can’t find her, I’m ok with that as long as it’s not like they separated for many years before hero think about another chance, anyway I’m out of the topic here lol
What gives me icky feeling is the hero need heroine’s help in this, you know it gets me feeling he seeks her because he has no better choice...

Let me be more specific, he has 2 factors for him to seek heroine:
1. He loves her.
2. He needs her help.

My point is, without factor 2, who know would he come trying to win back heroine? Y’know what I mean now.
I want it to be only love is enough for him to try to find her all those years. Whew...hard to explain or I’m just bad at explanation.

Anyway decide for yourself.
Different persons, different tastes.

3.5 good not great stars

Leo has always rubbed me the wrong way so this was kind of a hard book to get through. But hey I can't blame him since Luke just has too much charm and overshadows his twin for me. Though Fate being quite an interesting character kinda made up for the pair. I was more invested in the storyline than the romance. Would definitely not recommend reading this as a standalone.

OKAY AFTER MAKING IT TILL THIS FAR, I'D SAY IM STILL A LUKE FAN...HANDS DOWN. I DIDNT QUITE LIKE LEO'S MANNERISMS THEN AND CANT SAY HE'S BETTER HERE. THE PLOT WAS OKAY...BUT I DID LIKE THE TWIST IN THE STORY. THOUGH I WISHED MINA APPEARED MORE OFTEN.

OUR HERO is the Lord of Light or rather if you have read what he's done in all the previous books you will still call him Lord of Asshole. Even if some other readers found him redeemable here...all I saw was Leo becoming more selfish than he was before even if it was in the name of LOVE. Frankly, I didn't feel that connected with his past relationship with Mora. It was too abrupt...the author just explained a little but thats just it. Perhaps if it was part of the story since Book ONE then it would have been great...more realistic and has greater impact. Leo may be sorry here but I honestly couldn't really care much for the plot...it was just a bunch of words swimming in front of me. Leo put me off a little here with his overly possessive attitude which I normally don't mind from my main leads..but maybe it's because I already wasn't his fan.

OUR HEROINE is Fate. And I didn't buy into the bullshit of her orchestrating everyone's fate and love life...I mean come on it was cliche of the author to just add that into this book like it was so convenient...when Mora never even made an appearance in the first book. Like I mentioned..the story will be more believable if Mora had appeared as a mystery guest before and of course introducing her history with Leo. Mora's neutral character to me. I didn't like her or dislike her...she just played a part to me.

OVERALL I was disappointed that the story turned out to be nothing special. And even more of a letdown that Leo is pretty much just well... Leo. What I did like was the special twist of roles in Leo and Luke's status and after this story I still really like Luke more.

I’ll say upfront that Luke is my favorite brother of the twins and throughout the series, I found Leo to be a total douche-bag. But Cynthia Eden has a way of weaving a story that makes you want to know what will happen next, even if you dislike the hero and would love nothing better than to push him in a vat of lava.

Plus, if you don’t read the story, how will you know whether the jerk gets his comeuppance or not?

Leo started out, per norm, as the douche-bag he is. It’s aggravating that he can’t see how badly he messed up and how deeply he wronged Mara. How much he hurt her. I didn’t expect to feel bad for him when the truth slapped him in the face, but I did. I didn’t expect him to truly care about someone, to love Mara as much as he did.

Add in some surprising facets to his personality and the reason why he did the things he’d done throughout the series made me end up liking him.

And Mara… Holy cow, what do I say about such an awesome heroine? To have the power to change the fate of others, to put in motion such an astonishing plan with the panache of a war general. Her compassion and her love for Leo, such an unlikely hero, tug at the heartstrings.

I absolutely loved how the completion of this series came about to be. And the ending? Especially Luke’s part? Perfecto!

Much better than book 5 !!
The author did a really god job reversing the situation in this one and it was done well.
The author is also really good at suspens because they were some times i couldn't stop reading.

I can't say i'm finaly a big fan of Leo, i still dislike him a little but he was very interesting in this one and less assholish than in other books.

Mora, i liked her but i had a hard time believing that she was behind everything (you'll understand while reading the book) not because she wasn't capable but the way she was described didn't make me feel that she was that "strong".

Anyway it was a nice almost conslusion to the big battle between evil and good.

The author announced more books in the serie and i really wouldn't mind reading about the former angel now vampire or Dax and knowing more about Luke's new "work", it could be very fun ^^

Alright ya’ll this is Leo’s book, my Luke’s twin brother, Lord of the Light. We all know that Leo is a bit of a thorn...for everyone, a people person he is not, but damn did I love his book. Maybe cause his woman Fate is kinda a badass in her own way. Impressive that one, and shit gets real in this book. I can’t even begin to tell you all that happens, but know that you will be sucked in just like I was. I’ve said this before, pfft...I have probably said this in every review of this series, but this is my absolute favorite Cynthia Eden series, and one of my favorite paranormal series. I know, I know, for me it is just that good. You’ll be gripped to the pages, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll fall in love and find your mate...every single book. Fantastic series, if you are a paranormal reader, then this series is your book crack...you’re welcome.

Least favorite of the series, because, well, Leo's a self righteous prick. Mora, yeah, don't really care much for her either. I understand that this was necessary for the forward progression of the entire storyline, but I kinda hate read it.

**spoiler** there is *almost* a scene involving dubious consent, which also kinda made me not a fan and was one more notch in the I hate Leo column.

It’s a good book however some of the scene is quite confusing .Maybe it’s just me.For example did Fate lost her memory for a short term around 40% of the book??? Anyway it such a amazing experience for me Love love love, will read another book on this series ❤️❤️❤️❤️

ok so I picked this book up as soon as I finished Wicked and Wild ... :X but I basically stalled at the beginning - I wasn't in the mood for enemies to lovers...

Although it's not so SO much enemies to lovers... it kinda is.
Then I was really enjoying it ... and BAM shit kinda blows up - and I found my tweets on it https://twitter.com/Limecello/status/...

Not much, but I was literally screaming I was so mad 😅 although ... I guess in a way it's good that I was *THAT* invested? :X

... So I kinda read/skimmed that section ...

I really liked how things resolved - the balance, that nobody is ALWAYS JUST ONE THING -how the characters worked together ...
I didn't love so much "Fate" having such a "tricksie" hand in everything... meh.
But - overall I did enjoy it.

C maybe C- cuz ... :P I'm still mad.
