When Mav Skye isn't turning innocent characters into axe murderers, refinishing old furniture, chasing around her spring ducklings, or reading the latest horror novel, she's hosting the new horror story podcast, Dark Softly Tales. She adores puppies, pirates, skulls, red hots, Tarantino movies and yes, Godzilla. Especially Godzilla.
I think I've enjoyed book 2 better than the first book. I really like Chloe grown up opposed to her younger teen self. I'm not gonna lie, I got a little bored learning and reading about the meds her family were shoving down her throat so she would forget her past. This book explained a lot more that I feel like the first book left unresolved. Also, Sharon and Erin grown up are some super fun twins. The way the book ended, I had to immediately dive into Book #3
Chasing Clowns follows a grown-up Chloe Sevenstars, returning to her childhood hometown; and unknowingly returning to the Clown with the hatchet, the monster who has been stalking her nightmares. Only he's not stuck in her nightmares any longer, he's just around the corner.
This sequel is full of as much suspense, thrills, and heartache as the first in the series. There's clowns, but there's so much more. Native American folklore, mystery, a quick moving plot, fully developed and engaging side characters, and a heroine that you'll want to hug, protect, and cheer for. Go forth and buy!
