This book was exhilarating. We dive back in the Burnham world ten years later and nothing has slowed down. Alex has the life he has worked for, everything as it should be, until now. An old colleagues sister is found murdered and his daughter has been kidnapped. She has vanished.
from that moment forward this book is non stop. We jump POV for the first half between the kidnappers and the Burnhams. In doing that T.K. gives the book so much more depth than if it was a single POV. You are truly frightened as you read. It made me hug my babies a little tighter.
Not that people want to kill me or get revenge on me for anything, but because this book evokes such emotion in you. IT makes you feel the pain of having your child taken from you.
Throw a serial killer into the mix and I was hooked. Line and sinker.
I wanted all the answers, and even when I thought I had figured it all out, I still had no idea the tricks the author had up her sleeve. For such a low price, this novel is a STEAL. I loved traveling back into this world and revisiting characters we had long said farewell to.
