This review is likely to be all over the place because my thoughts after reading this one are all over the place. It was a GOOD book. Well written. It had an interesting plot with twists and turns. It had action. As a standalone thriller (there is NO romance in this one) it worked very well. As part of a series, I am confused on what purpose it really served? Like I said, there is no romance, no relationship angst, no sex. Basically, it is just a thriller featuring the couple from the A Beautiful Mess series. Maybe I missed the bigger picture or something. I don't know. *shrug*

My other issue was this book is LONG. A little too long in my opinion. The first 50% was very interesting. Edge of your seat stuff. Then around halfway through my attention was starting to drift and I was wishing the author would get on with it and pick up the pace a little. In any case, like I said it was a well-written book and worked well as a thriller. Just needed to be a tiny bit shorter in my opinion.

10 stars!! If life wouldn't have gotten in the way I would have read this book in one day, it was so hard to put down almost immediately. A very psychological and emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried (a lot at one point), and I spent plenty of time literally on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I may have everything figured out, things went topsy turvy and nothing was as it had initially seemed. Definitely on my short list of best books of 2017.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily

The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
My first book by TK Leigh and I. Was. Hooked !
It's a fairly controversial subject, considering the presently unstable political environment. So I'd think it is a very brave attempt by her. But she's done an excellent job !
Every parents' absolute Worst nightmare - when their darling child goes missing . Olivia and Alexander Burnham go through this torturous scenario when their 8 year old Melanie is snatched from their super secure home , in the middle of the night. Alexander runs a private security firm, providing secure homes, work places to rich, influential people around the world, so irony isn't lost on us.
Here was a man who was in the business of keeping people safe, yet he couldn’t extend that luxury to his own daughter.
In his perilous line of work , he's undoubtedly made a lot of enemies, people he failed to protect, people he brought to justice. Anybody could've been behind it. He's against a faceless , dangerous foe, who remains concealed in shadows yet he plays with Alex and Olivia like a cat with a mouse
He knew how to survive in the wild for extended periods of time. He could take out a target with his sniper rifle at nearly 2,000 yards. He could hold his breath underwater for close to two minutes without releasing a single bubble. But he had absolutely no training, other than his gut, that would help find his daughter.
So begins the race against time , in an unknown maze of phone calls, old records, voice messages and travel to the past . He wracks his brains trying to put a face to Melanie’s abductor and the reason behind it. Three very gruesome but seemingly unrelated accidents or incidents take place , exactly one year to the day Landon died in an explosion in Afghanistan.
Mischa Tate
Rayne Kilpatrick
Melanie Burnham
Are these related, domino effects of his decision of a fateful day 3 years ago ?
one event could have a devastating impact on a person’s entire life trajectory.Who took Melanie? Who was responsible for Mischa’s brutal death? What was the reason for Rayne’s sudden and unexpected reappearance in his life? It all seemed so odd, so peculiar, that he couldn’t help but wonder whether it was all connected.
The search for answers will keep you on the edge of your seat, heart palpitating as Alex races around to search for his daughter.
And I raced with him !
Now there's a parallel track running in this book right alongside this thrilling Escape from Death game.
The Family Dynamic!
Alexander was an Heir to his father's legacy . A powerful security firm with presence all over the world.............except his own home. His dad was a workaholic , most of the time missing from the family dinner table. The whole scary situation puts Alex in a position of Re-evaluation of his life's priorities. Near Death experiences often do that to people.
He need to re-arrange his life now
He wondered how many other people he had screwed over. How many other families had been torn apart because of his failure to take an interest? The more he looked at himself from an outsider’s perspective, the more he believed he had turned into his father. A man who put his own needs first. A man who worked so much, he barely spent any time with his family. A man who didn’t offer any apologies until it was too late. He didn’t want to think that was what he had become, but how could he not when all the signs were there? Life wasn’t about his job, the amount of zeros in his bank account, or owning the latest gadget. It was about the little moments.
So fantastically have the two facets been combined , it's awesome to see how the story unfolds. The writing is so superb, you feel every single emotion , you feel so much pain and helplessness , being a mom, it effected me more so, I guess.
Important life lessons learnt -
FAMILY FIRST.ALWAYS !
Blood makes you related. Loyalty makes you family.

Two things I'd want to mention . M.K. Gandhi was a non violent, peace loving Freefom Fighter , Father of the Nation to India. He brought down the mighty British Empire to its knees.
It's GANDHI not Ghandi...please
Secondly - this book is a superb THRILLER , not romance or smut at all...
I loved the story . Highly recommended and
5 stars

T.K. Leigh does it again. Drama, tragedy, heartache, pain, secrets, loyalty and love. Vanished has it all.

Alex and Olivia finally have it all. That is until they discover that their precious daughter Melanie has vanished and now it is a race against time to find her. Old ghosts and secrets surface, all pieces of the puzzle that needs to be solved to save Melanie.

I have been looking forward to this book since it was announced and it did not disappoint.

What an incredible book! I couldn't catch my breath till the end. Such a great story filled with suspense, and mystery. You find yourself guessing and wondering what will happen and then you're surprised. You'll be immersed in this book from beginning to end. It can be read as a stand alone. This book is beyond fabulous. I had missed Mr. Burnham.

"Regret can torture a man, rip him open and bleed him dry for the world to see. In the end, only he can pick up the pieces and put himself back together with the hopes of learning from his past mistakes."
I don't know how to begin reviewing this book. I had the privilege to read it early and I'm so grateful that I'm beyond words... Reuniting with my man again was the highlight of my year, and doing that through T.K.'s words - do I need to say more???
Vanished is not a romantic love story. It's a thriller that will hook you from the first page till the last. I found myself speculate about what comes next so may times that my head was spinning.
In Vanished we meet Alexander (my man, my love, my book-husband) and Olivia 10 years after the events that happened in the Beautiful Mess Series. On one cold night, Melanie, their perfect 8 years old daughter, is kidnapped and that awful event changes Alex's life. Along with the FBI, he fights with everything he has to find her. Through this journey he learns a lot about himself and his priorities in life. He deals with his past decisions that affect his present ones. His love for Olivia is so strong and together they go through this hell of worry for their daughter. A lot of secrets from the past and present are revealed through this hard time, that will leave you with a dropped jaw and eyes wide open. With T.K.'s crazy mind you can never know what to expect. This is why I love her so much.
This book provoked a lot of feelings in me. I was angry, I was sad, I cried more than once, but most of all I fell in love all over again with my one and only Mr. B!
I really hope for all of you waiting for this masterpiece, that February will come faster than you think, so you could all enjoy this crazy ride.

This book is super hard to write about without giving too much away. There's SO much that happens over a short amount of time that you just HAVE to read it for yourself to experience what's going on. It's probably not like ANYTHING you might be expecting. The Burnhams are back, however you don't have to read the previous books to understand what's going on here. Although you should, they give you good background on who these characters are.

"They probably thought she was just a homeless drug addict. And wasn't she? She had lost everything. Her home. Her career. Her family."

The book stars with a series of events that leads up to bad things for the Burnhams. I thought this was going in one direction and would be mostly about Rayne but I was so wrong! Rayne is just the tip of the iceberg. When her husband was murdered she lost everything. You can feel her pain through the entire story. It sets the vibe as dark and gloomy. Her pain causes her to do the unthinkable and she sets out for revenge.

Alexander Burnham worked with Rayne's husband and she feels he is to blame for Landon's death. When she takes action against Alexander and his family the chain reaction of events is mind boggling.

"You may be in the dark," the sinister voice said, "but your wife certainly is not."

The twists and turns, the suspense, will certainly have you on the edge of your seat. It's not completely obvious what's going on so the suspense is kicked up a notch. There's so many parties involved and answers to find to get the Burnham's daughter back safe.

"I'll find her, and when I do, whoever took her is going to pay for what they've done."

There is talk of terrorism and things happening in the middle east and it was not my favorite to read about. I didn't feel like it felt right in the story- it takes up a lot of it, so for that I give 3 stars instead of 4.

My rating: 3/5 stars

Just when we thought we’d seen the last of Alexander Burnham and Olivia, author T.K. Leigh has given us Vanished. Now, I’ll be the first to admit, this book was a little hard for me to get into. It has been about two years since I last saw these characters, so for me, I had a hard time remembering their story. However, I didn’t let that deter me. I kept on reading and soon enough, I was hooked. I was intrigued by what was going on in the story and had a ton of questions. There were a lot of unexpected twists and just when I thought I knew where the story was going, another twist was thrown my way.

Vanished is a thrilling and heart-pounding story. It has a lot of intense moments and deals with some very serious subject matter. It definitely kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat.

29 December 2014- Not sure how I feel about this description… It makes me nervous, but yet I feel as if it's a gimmick? Certainly there is another way to keep us up to date with the Burnhams than this. Any why isn't Olivia mentioned in this blurb?

First I want to say thank-you to the author for allowing me the privilege of reading this book early. It is absolutely amazing, not a love story, but more of a suspenseful thriller. It is loaded with suspense, angst, anger, regret, and revenge. It will keep you guessing until the very end and I must admit I never guessed correctly, each time I thought I had figured out who did what and why, T.K. Leigh would drop another bombshell and I would start guessing all over again.
For those of you who have read the Beautiful Mess series, you know who Mr. Alexander Burnham is, and since he is not in complete control of this situation, he is not at all happy. Although we get glimpses of the old Alexander in this book we also see him as vulnerable, afraid, and even at times emotional. So be ready with the tissues, you will need them. Although Olivia and Alexander are living through a nightmare no parent should have to face, they cannot help but wonder if this would be happening if they had handled situations differently in the past. And when I say they, I not only mean Alexander but also sweet, sassy, and independent Olivia, yeah, she shocked me in this one.
So get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions, and be ready for surprises along the way, as Olivia, Alexander and the FBI race against the clock to find Melanie.
I would give this one more than five stars if I could!!

Tragic Return Of Alexander And Olivia
I don’t have children, but I can imagine that having your young child abducted is a horror with no end. Abducting not being the only horror in this book and knowing that it is as much part of our daily life (even in the western hemisphere!) as human trafficking this book goes under my skin. The position of so many women in our world, fighting to be heard, acknowledged and free to live their chosen lives. The impossible choices portrayed, welfare of one or many, your child or somebody else’s? The way TKL weaves them into this story is masterful, empathetic, heart warming and thrilling. A book with a double edge, this one has a happy ending, but how many, untold, stories do not? It gives a moment of reflection, of thankfulness that my life is without these terrible situations.

**I received an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review**

I have to disclose, I haven’t read any of the other books in the Beautiful Mess series. (However, I did download the first one immediately after I finished Vanished.) So, I wasn’t familiar with the characters or any of their backstories when I dove into this.

To say I loved this book would be a gross understatement. This story was phenomenal! T.K. Leigh grabbed my attention with merely a few paragraphs, and held me captive right up until I finished the last word of the story.

Alex runs a security company, with involvement in various operations overseas, including in the Middle East. When his daughter Melanie is kidnapped, Alex vows to stop at nothing to bring his little girl home. But the further into the investigation they get, the more Alex starts to realize that he may be partly to blame for the little girl’s disappearance.

One of the most striking things about this novel was Alex’s character development. When the book began, he was all business. His primary focus was on the security company he inherited from his father. Family came second and, though Alex couldn’t see it at the time, he was well on his way to following in his father’s footsteps. Throughout the course of the story, Alex changes completely. The longer Melanie is gone, the more reflective Alex becomes, and by the time the book comes to a close, he’s a changed man. Gone is the man who places more value on the success of his company than the relationships he has at home.

The story in Vanished was so, so, good. It was unique and well mapped out, and T.K. Leigh wrote it in such a way that she kept me on the edge of my seat. There was action around every corner. I love any kind of crime drama, and the thrill of trying to figure out who was responsible for the wrongdoing was great. Also, it was very evident that the author took the time to do an adequate amount of research in regards to the subject she was writing about. My heart broke when I read the stories of some of the girls. The different twists and turns in the plot messed with my head, but in a good way, because it kept me intrigued until the very end.

I admired Olivia. She has so much strength and courage, and she’s selfless in so many ways. At first glance her and Alex seem like they could be polar opposites, but the farther along I got in the book, the more apparent it became to me that they complimented one another perfectly. She’s the rock of the family, and she definitely gets a spot on my list of fierce female leads.

Another thing I love about this book was that T.K. Leigh didn’t rush through anything. She gave a thorough backstory, so that as a reader I understood exactly why things were happening in the present. Things played out at the perfect pace, there was a strong build up to the climax of the story, and Alex’s change was gradual and believable. Everything happened exactly as it should of and when I finished the book, there was a sense of completion that came with it.

I couldn’t put this book down. I literally devoured half of it while on a flight home from Vegas, and polished off the rest within days of returning home. If you like action-packed stories, then this is definitely the book for you!

Vanished gets the Wordaholic Must Read seal of approval.

Five stars to this novel!

Ohmygod! If you thought what Alexander and Olivia went through to be together, that was nothing compared to what they go through in Vanished.

This story was intensely suspenseful and kept me guessing with the turn of every page. There were so many players and I honestly couldn't guess who was behind it all. So many suspects. But through it all, the love that Alex and Olivia shared was just as strong as ever and it was what propelled them to move forward and keep fighting until their little girl was returned to them.

What got me most in this book? The vulnerability that I was finally able to see in Alexander. He was a man who was always in control and having his daughter taken took that away and forced him to see how his past decisions played a part in life today and how it affected his family. Complacency and routine became their every day and having this step back made him face and re-evaluate his priorities.

After all the turmoil that Alex and Olivia go through, they end up with an even better HEA.

Wow. Just wow. I am in awe at how incredible this book is. The writing is flawless and the book seamlessly flows. There is so much going on in the book and yet it all intertwines together and before you know it the story is over and you want more. This is one engrossing book.
TK Leigh has once again written one amazing story. There is darkness to the tale. We get a very real look at some very serious topics. We are enlightened by some of the issues in our world and how some react and reach out. We also see how other will take it as disrespect and harm others to handle that disrespect.
Alexander and Olivia are back and better than ever. They are going strong and still so close and amazing. Alex though is starting to question himself and who he has become. He is wondering about some choices and how he can change. Among them is Landon. The past that haunts him is coming back full force.
We are treated with characters that are dimensional and with layers. We see their feelings, their regrets and weaknesses. For Alexander he learns what is important while going through this harrowing few days. The story also focuses on some very real problems and situations.
Olivia was just as strong and warm hearted as in previous books. Even when her world was falling apart she was steadfast in her convictions and this had Alexander respect and love her more.
The story is dark, harrowing and beautiful. A young girl, Rayne, is suffering and mired in grief. This made her vulnerable and susceptible to influence. She wanted others to suffer as she did and went to an extreme for this to occur. She did feel regrets over this but the wheels were in motion and beyond her. she was a pawn as was Alexander.
As Alexander’s and Olivia’ s world is turned on its axis, they become stronger and their love grows. we see them gain more respect for each other but also what lengths they go to for family. We see them grow as a couple and individually.
The plot is dark and engrossing. We are kept on the edges of our seats hoping and praying but also wondering what the underlining reason for all this to be occurring. Why target Alexander and Olivia? The multiple emotions and plots seamlessly blend together and give you a story that has you hanging on by your fingernails hoping for a happy ending.
A terrific on the edge of your seat engrossing read that will have you engrossed to the very end.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Alexander Burnham is back. And it's not under the best circumstances. His daughter is missing and he sees himself going down the same road his father did. We see a different side to his and Olivia's relationship in Vanished and I loved it. This story itself only takes place over a few days, but through some flashbacks we are able to get the whole picture and completely understand the situation.

Rayne has hit rock bottom. Her fiance Landon, who worked for Alexander, has been taken from her. It's been a year since he died and Rayne has lost everything. When she befriends a man at her grief counseling meetings, he suggests a way for her to find peace and she takes it. I'm not sure how the author intended for her readers to feel about Rayne, but I felt bad for her. She may have played a part in kidnapping Alexander and Olivia's daughter, but she really was a pawn in the overall game. Losing the love of her life and the grief that consumed her life was used against her in the most horrible way possible and my heart broke for her. (Side note: I actually would love to know more about Rayne and Landon as a couple. The author painted a such great picture of Landon and I want to know more.)

I still love Olivia and Alexander so much. Ten years into their marriage and they still have moments where they seem like newlyweds. Their daughter is their life and when she is taken from them their lives are turned upside down. Alexander feels helpless and is willing to do pretty much anything to get his daughter back. And we learn just how much Olivia has grown as not only a partner to Alexander, but also as a mother.

There is A LOT that happens in this book, but TK's writing is just so darn good. Once I picked this up, I could not put it down. We are given tons of information, but you'll find yourself trying to figure things out as you read. But like any great book, things aren't always what they seem. There are some fantastic WTF moments and more than enough emotional ones that will have you grabbing for the tissues. We also meet some new characters and also get to catch up with some of those we already know and love.

If you are a fan of of the Beautiful Mess series, this is a MUST READ. Just prepare yourself of a massive book hangover. And if you are new to TK's books, this is a good place to start. This book will make you curious enough to go back and see where it all began for Alexander and Olivia.

Wow, what an amazing and enthralling story. Vanished was a story that I absolutely could not get enough of. I was not that familiar with T.K. Leigh’s books but when I began reading Vanished, I was so pulled to everything in the book. From the characters to the dialogue to the plot itself, I was officially spellbound with the beautiful story written filled with so much angst and drama that had my heart pounding with tension. Vanished was truly a story that definitely piqued my attention from the first page to the last.

Vanished is a standalone in the A Beautiful Mess series that told a story of pain, love and the power of letting go of the past and simply living in the present. What a powerful and high energy story that was simply exquisite to read. I was transported to a high paced place filled with so action that made my heart so excited. I was in a daze while reading this book and only I wanted was to be in it. Tense. Emotional. Phenomenal. Suspense. T.K. Leigh wrote a story that was just so effortless in its twisted beauty and I just could not take my eyes away from it. Not only was it amazing but there were emotions that definitely touched me to the depths of my soul. I was consumed and captured by the intricacies and the complex plot that was so darn exciting to read. Vanished was like a complicated puzzle that held shocking and interesting parts that were unveiled page by page. Everything about this book gripped me till I became one with the story. I was simply awestruck. Vanished felt like I was in a high stakes espionage movie that took me in a wild ride that I did not want to get off. I simply loved this story. I truly commend the author for giving me a story with such a dark and addictive edge. It was different from all the books I read and I just enjoyed every moment of it.

Vanished truly had some dynamic and interesting characters. They each told a powerful, emotional and tense story that completely touched my heart on another level. Written in third person, I felt so pulled to all the characters thoughts than ever before. Each character held such a different and unique voice that totally gave the book an edge. You definitely need to read this book to found out the characters in the story. You will definitely fall in love with their stories like I did.

Vanished definitely is a story that everyone should read. After reading Vanished, I will definitely will be reading books by T.K. Leigh because she is a very talented author. Her writing is incredible. I am hooked.

So have you read The Beautiful Mess? Well this is later on in years with Olivia and Alex. You hope for happily ever after … this one is going to kind of rip your heart out. I know right??!?!

This is obviously not a love story like maybe we are used to but its more of a suspense, bring you into partial reality of events and things concerning in our society using two characters that we loved in a previous series. Now .. this deals with a kidnapping of a child. So having said that if you cannot take something of the sort then maybe you shouldn’t read. I don’t know maybe skim the pages and decide if you want to full on take this one on.

Alex and Olivia’s lives are changed when their eight year old is taken. Alex will stop at nothing to find his child. He will put himself in the line of fire on all accounts to find her. Taking his past head on and finding himself along the way he could change the course of his life as he knows it forever.

Rayne will avenge her beautiful loves lost life. He never returned. She was supposed to have it all and now the man who is responsible for his death will pay. He will feel the loss like she did. He will suffer like she did. He will know death in life like she does. How will she do that … she will take the one thing that means the most to him. Rayne will make him pay for the rest of his life.
This an extremely suspenseful and heart pounding story. A race to find a child – a clock ticking to save her. There are some very significant issues in this book. I highly recommend reading but again know this is not a happy go lucky love story.

Thank you TK for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

Let me start by saying I'm only giving this book 3.5 stars. It wasn't a bad book but it was borderline boring. Before anyone starts yelling at me for this, remember, this is MY honest review.

The story was long and drawn out, containing a great deal of fluff. It also had me confused but not in a way that I was happy about. I had to reread a few sections because it didn't make sense to me the first time.

Being a mom, I hope to never to have to face a reality where my child is kidnapped. I don't know that I would have had the strength to continue on. I'd like to think I'd be out turning over every stone, but my reality is, I wouldn't be able function properly. I also hope to never have to deal with such gripping despair Rayne was facing. A low that deep would be a major battle to win. I have a high tolerance to physical pain, but emotional pain cripples me. I don't know if I'd survive such traumas.

But, overall, this story felt flat and anti-climactic. The saving grace in this to me was the emphasis placed on family.

Grab you a copy, keep an open mind, and search for a Happily Ever After.

When I first found T.k.'s books, I fell in love not only with her characters but her style of writing as well. When I finished the last book in her A Beautiful Mess series I was left with a serious book hangover and kept comparing every other book I was reading to hers.. They just didn't measure up. That being said, when she started teasing us with this book I was over joyed with emotions and I anxiously awaited the return of Mr. B.. He, er um I mean the book was definitely worth the wait. As we revisit these characters I was immediately drawn in to the story, and with each page I dove deeper into the story and kept trying to figure out who the bad guy was and what was going to happen next. But in true T.k. Fashion even though I thought I had an idea of what was going on I was left guessing until the end. There are only a few books that can draw out so many emotions from me and this one made the top of the list. I really do hope to see more Mr. B, and this series. If you love a good romantic suspense this is one to add to your TBR list....

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

**Carla's Four Star Review

We were first introduced to Alex and Olivia in T.K.'s previous book, A Beautiful Mess. Fast forward ten years, and we catch up with these two later in life. Do not go into this book expecting rainbows and butterflies. This story is raw and gritty and is sure to tear your heart out.

Alexander Burnham has it all. A wonderful and supportive wife, a beautiful and vivacious daughter, and a great job. Life is great until something tragic occurs. This traumatic event rocks Alex's world to it's very core leaving him questioning not only his past decisions but his priorities as well.

This is a super intense read! As the story progresses, secrets are revealed and relationships are tested. There are so many twists and turns in this story you are sure to end up with whiplash! Be ready to experience a myriad of emotions. My best advice is this-Buckle Up Buttercup because this book will take you on one hell of a ride!

This doesn't surprise me at all for me to say how amazing this book was. If you haven't read a beautiful mess series please do before you read this one.

As years pass, With Olivia and Alex you would think all is good in their world right? Well think again.. Be ready for your heart to beat fast oh and make sure you have absolutely nothing to do for the day because your not gonna want to put this down. I didn't.

How I missed Alex. Boy did I miss them both. He has a beautiful wife, a beautiful daughter and the perfect life. Well think again. Something tragic happens and the search for their 8 year old daughter begins.

This isn't your average love story, oh no, this is an intense read. Secrets are unfolded and relationships are tested. The twists and turns are unbelievable and like I said earlier make sure you can dedicate your day to this book. Enjoy this ride!

Thanks T.K for an amazing series and an amazing conclusion you rock!

This is the first book I read by T.K. Leigh and I didn't realize the characters were from previous books, but that did not matter, this book can be read as a standalone. I don't want to give anything away so I will keep this review brief. This is a good thriller with lots of action and an intricate plot. It explores the thing that keeps every parent up at night, what if someone took my child? The desperation was palpable and I couldn't help but put myself in the parents shoes. This is a well written story, but it's all thriller and no filler! If you are looking for romance, this is not the book for you. But, if you like a good thriller that will make your heart race then you will definitely enjoy this book.

Exceptional, brilliant story!
Doesn't surprise me as TK Leigh always delivers a winning read. But Vanished stands apart from all the others!
Intense, thrilling and exciting,I was totally captivated by this suspenseful read!
Alexander and Olivia are back ten years later.
Settled with his family, richer and still madly in love with Olivia, it was supposed to be their time to celebrate, but money can't guarantee safety and protection. Investigating a serial murderer leads to the unthinkable.
A valuable lesson on never taking anything for granted!
How it all unfolded made this an absolute must read!

☆☆Reviewed for Hooked On Books ☆ ☆

I gave this book 4 stars!

I have to say that I enjoyed this book. I didn't really love or hate it. With that being said if you love a good suspenseful, mystery that will have you guessing until the end , then this your book.

I must confess that I haven't read The Beautiful Mess Series but I felt like I could still connect to the story and the characters. I felt that Ms. Leigh wrote a truly gripping and suspense story that others would truly enjoy.

I will be looking into reading TBM Series in the near future.

This was a romantic suspense heavy on the suspense. Alex and Olivia's daughter Melanie is abducted and Alex is in a race to find her.

It goes back and forth in time and gives the story of his friend Landon who convinces him to start a secret shelter for women who are terrorized in Irac by their horrific view of women.

It really is a story about Alex looking at his life and deciding what he really wants for his life and what kind of father he wants to be.

Overall, it wasn't a bad story but it wasn't really the same kind of genre as the rest of the books in the series.

What a thrilling book!

I don't know if I have the words to explain how much I loved this book. It was sad, exciting and so much more. This book was so true to what women deal with in Islamic culture. This book is the story of the people that sacrifice their lives to help them and the sometimes brutal consequences they endure. I don't want to give any spoilers. This is a must read for everyone!

This book was exhilarating. We dive back in the Burnham world ten years later and nothing has slowed down. Alex has the life he has worked for, everything as it should be, until now. An old colleagues sister is found murdered and his daughter has been kidnapped. She has vanished.

from that moment forward this book is non stop. We jump POV for the first half between the kidnappers and the Burnhams. In doing that T.K. gives the book so much more depth than if it was a single POV. You are truly frightened as you read. It made me hug my babies a little tighter.

Not that people want to kill me or get revenge on me for anything, but because this book evokes such emotion in you. IT makes you feel the pain of having your child taken from you.

Throw a serial killer into the mix and I was hooked. Line and sinker.

I wanted all the answers, and even when I thought I had figured it all out, I still had no idea the tricks the author had up her sleeve. For such a low price, this novel is a STEAL. I loved traveling back into this world and revisiting characters we had long said farewell to.

Rayne Kilpatrick is a woman who has been beaten down; by the loss of her beloved fiancé Landon, their baby she was carrying, her home, her business. Landon worked for Alexander Burnham who we have met in the earlier Beautiful Mess series. This book takes place 8 years after that series.

Landon and Alexander go way back to their days in the military. Alexander runs a security business and that entails much more than just typical security. There's Landon overseas doing humanitarian work for Alex. When he disappears after their hospital comes under fire, Rayne gets no answers until she sees his public execution on TV with a message from his kidnappers. Alexander also stunned as he watches he closest friend meet his death.

It's been a year. Rayne is a ghost, she lives in a run down apartment building, she seems to wander aimlessly and goes to a grief group once a week where she meets Mark. We get to hear her inner dialogue in the first part of the book. She seems to want Alexander, now happily married to Olivia and their daughter who is now 8 to feel what she feels. Alexander, in his never ending need and goal in life to keep them safe; moves them out of the city. They live in a very large home on a nice piece of property. Far away from harm. The other is not to turn into his Father. Which for him becomes all to apparent that he perhaps may have missed the boat on that one. Putting his work before his family.

Their life is upended on night right before Christmas when their daughter is taken from their home.
It's Rayne who takes her, apparently with Mark's help. As the story unfolds there are so many twists and surprises that the reader isn't sure which end is up. Who is to be trusted and with the FBI involved this brings another challenge for Alexander who is a class A control freak among other things. He seems to keep his pot on slow boil all the time anyway and it doesn't take much to set him off. I would call him volatile. Olivia his wife, is everything he isn't. She's warm, loving, bright and kind. She's patient and she lives with Alexander which in my book makes her a Saint.

Every single character in this story is stand out. They are so well written and so visible to the reader. Then there is Alex, despite we're reading what's going on in his head, there's much he isn't saying as well. Seems everyone in this story has secrets and when Pandora's box opens it's like dominos. But T.K. still keeps you in the dark until the very end. Clearly I'm not a fan of Alexander, but that's not new for me, but I do love that Olivia. This story is stellar. T.K. puts you on a leash and leads you through this maze of a story, it reminds me of walking a labyrinth. I absolutely recommend this story. Vanished is not to be missed.
