3 HURT MY HEAD Stars
This was a pretty good read for me. I've never read anything by this author before but I enjoyed this one enough that I will check out some of her other books.
So like I said I enjoyed this one for the most part. The writing was good. The pace moved along nicely. I loved Logan. He was sexy and Dominant. That said, it did have a couple issues that took my rating down.
One, the heroine was a bit annoying to me. Mostly because I legit couldn't figure out what her issue was. She had "trust issues" and this somehow translated into her not being able to get off when having vanilla sex? Which made NO sense to me. Because at the very heart of a BDSM relationship is TRUST. She was trusting enough to have this guy tie her up and blindfold her in his HOME with NO ONE around, but making love...NOOO. And the tennis court scene...no clue what that was all about. Why was Logan so mad?
My other issues was the ex-wife. Her blackmailing scheme was just left hanging. I guess he stopped paying her off, but it's never really mentioned. Also, what happened to her mom? What happened with her Dad who basically stole ALL her trust fund? *shrug*

Could have easily been 4 stars, but when you start a book talking about an ex wife that is trying to blackmail you and go unto detail on how she set him up etc and then never mention it again st the end... really? I think 2 different people wrote this and tried to fit it together. Just no follow thru with what started off as good plot points. What was the point of going to his sisters tennis academy? No explanation of why he got angry. Why didn't Olivia meet Emmaline? And did Logan never tell Emmaline about the ex and the baby, never addressed either. Ok now after writing this I want to give it 2.5 stars

It was a weak attempt. The constant internal dialoguing in this book really got on my nerves. So much so that I was skipping paragraphs and then half pages. It was boring and the characters, though some were supposed to be dominant, were not strong enough to carry the story, nor was the plot if there was one.

This was the book I mentioned yesterday where the word "smirk/smirked/smirking" was used so many times I started counting them. I lost count after hitting 25 so I did a search and it came up 59 different times. I'm not sure if that was all in this book or also in the second "freebie" book that was included at the end but I found the story to be just OK. Nothing amazing. Nothing that would make me want to reread it.
Fair warning to others: This story ended at 46%. Then you got a small teaser of another book before the freebie of yet another book started at the 53% mark.
I didn't read the freebie. May go back and read it sometime in the future but for now, I'm skipping it.

Penelope Bloom is a new-to-me author and I'm very happy I found her. I ate this book up reading it in a day. Punished is a steamy story of two damaged souls. They both have deep seated trust issues that have blocked their happiness in an out of bed.
Logan Steel had almost lost his company because he had been betrayed. He had to leave behind his proclivities in order to fix his companies reputation. When he can no longer hold back his needs he returns back to Club Crave to find a submissive.
Emmaline had been expecting a large inheritance that she was planning on using to get out of debt. Emmaline had started her own business and accumulated a large amount of debt. When the inheritance is taken by her father, Emmaline is left with little hope. Her friend assists her in obtaining a job at Club Crave to pay off her debts. It pays really well but she'll need to open her mind to the BDSM world.
When a masked Logan see Emmaline at Club Crave he is immediately drawn to her. They had already made a connection when they met previously. Logan hides his identity while taking control of Emmaline and makes her crave more. Logan decides he wants to get to know this woman who has peaked his interest. He takes a chance even with the possibility that he could once again be betrayed. Emmaline struggles with her own trust issues. She can trust Logan when he's dominating her but in real life she's not too sure.
Logan and Emmaline struggle trusting because everyone they have trusted has taken advantage of them. Logan is more than just a dominate, he's also an understanding kind man. I loved his multifaceted sides. The author did a great job developing both characters. I couldn't put this book down. 5 Stars!

I absolutely loved this book. Logan and Emmaline meet at a party at his house. They both have trust issues but the attraction between them is instant. The attraction between the two was so epic that you could literally feel it coming off the pages as you read. I really loved both these characters. I loved experiencing their relationship build as they open up up to each other. There is so many twists, turns, friendships, evil ex, the most horrible parents ever, and kindle melting hottness.
Penelope Bloom has written a really amazing story. I loved every second of it and am so glad I got to read Punished. I can not wait to see what Penelope Bloom comes up with next. Do not miss this book.

This book was a good idea but I struggled to finish it.
I did enjoy how the male main character (Logan) was written. He was caring, sexy and dominate, loved him as a character! 🫣
I didn’t like the female main character (Emmaline). I couldn’t figure her out, she has major trust issues but she willingly goes into a strangers house ALONE and is involved in a bdsm scene but making love is a no go for her. 🤷♀️ She annoys the heck outta me.
The story was also concluded with a bunch of lose ties. What happened to her mother? The douche dad and a major one… what happens to the blackmailing ex wife? 🤨
Had some good spice scenes and Logan was amazing but honestly this story left me frustrated, annoyed and a bit disappointed. It has a lot of potential I just wish it had more beta readers and was edited more to have a better version of the book.

I don’t know where to begin. This is the first time reading this author. I don’t want to say the story was bad, but parts were clipped, or short. I don’t know how to describe it.
For example the FMC makes it known through the book she has a very hard time getting to the O unless it’s with BDSM. She fakes it with vanilla sex. So I spent the whole book waiting for her to finally get the O with vanilla sex and it’s ONE SENTENCE in the epilogue.
There are somethings that were swept over such as her mother boyfriend. I understand he was put in jail. But you would think that would be a huge talking point/trust/actions proven moment for the MMC.
The overall spice was DELICIOUS 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
There was a great deal more that could’ve been added but overall I will try a few more books by this author 😃

I enjoy Penelope blooms books alot. The main Character Emmaline has had a hard life with crappy parents and starts working at a BDSM club after her dad steals her inheritance. Logan can't resist Emmaline when he sees her at the club. It is a good bdsm book not dark like I'm used to but it was still enjoyable.

Emmaline started a small business on etsy that became a full time job. Emmaline was due to have her inheritance soon so she knew she could pay off her debts. When she gets to the bank she finds out that all the funds have been withdrawn. She finds out that her father had withdrawn all of the money and there was nothing that she could do about it.
Her friend Scarlett tells her about this part time job she has working at this BDSM club making 5,000 a week for just 2 nights. Emmaline takes her up on it.
Meanwhile Scarlett and Emmaline go to Valentine's Day party thrown by Mr. Logan Steele for his company. Scarlett's is out there dancing and Emmaline needs to find a bathroom so she goes looking through the house everyone she gets to is locked. Finally she finds one but it looks like the master bedroom. She goes to open the door when it opens up and she sees Logan coming out with just a towel. She gets so flushed she tells him that she has to pee. He asks her name when she comes out she tells him but then flees his room.
Logan thinks she is one of his employee so as hot as she is he just couldn't take a chance. Besides his ex Lana has screwed him up taking any chances since she said she would go to the press with damaging photos which were not real. Emmaline goes back to the party to find Scarlett.
The next night she is scheduled to work at the club and she is prepared to anything within her comfort zone as she is playing the part of a submissive. When she gets there all rules are laid out for her she is given a pair of white earrings to wear so that signifies she is a virgin to BDSM. Dean, Logans friend talks him into going back to the club to have a little fun. All the men wear masks so their privacy is kept in tack.
Logan sees the pretty girl from the night before and can't believe she is standing there and that she is a newbie. He decides to see if she will play with him not knowing what to expect. He takes her to his private room and proceeds to spank her and then just leaves her there. He rushes out knowing that nothing was going to happen since he thinks she works for him.
Logan is so taken with Emmaline he helps her out with her mother's boyfriend after he sees Emmaline with bruises on her face. He takes her to her mother's to protect her and had to take care of Ronnie first
And then also this tension building. He takes Emmaline to play tennis at his sister's academy. Things get heated and he pushes her away and tells her to leave and that he didn't want to see her anymore. Emmaline couldn't figure out what went wrong again.
She goes home and talks to Scarlett about everything is turning into crap and she mentions that she doesn't think she could go back to Club Crave. But Emmaline needed the money so she went back and Logan saved her again from another guy who was hitting on her.
Things progress between Logan and Emmaline with hot sex and learning trust for both of them. Emmaline's mom is still living with her abuser Ronnie who decides to go after Emmaline.
Logan in the meantime has been betrayed by his friend Dean who is his partner. He is tipped off my an email sent from Dean to one of their major investors. Logan at this point knows he will lose his business but he has a way to get back at Dean. Plus now he can mentor Emmaline and start from scratch to help her build her business.
This is a Hot Lightly BDSM but the characters were very believable.

He loves that she’s not after his bank account, that she’s driven to succeed and that she works hard to achieve her goals. He decides that he wants to get to know her outside of Club Crave. Before her, He’d never even considered having another relationship since the debacle of his ex, but he’s so intrigued by her and their instant connection that he starts to pursue her.
Together they find they have insane chemistry. Emmeline has never gotten off with a man before and she finds that the rough sex and play that Logan enjoys, actually gets her to climax. Finally having found something that pleasures her enough to come, she keeps pushing their limits, until Logan finally gets nervous and tries to cool things off.
This is a really great love story about two people who have been betrayed by those closest to them and who have found a second chance at love with each other. They just need to learn to trust each other and to find a way to heal their hearts. Both Emmeline and Logan are completely out of their respective comfort zones, can they meet in the middle and make their relationship last?
Extremely steamy scenes between Emmeline and Logan. Great storyline. Supporting characters that are so awful, you want to physically hurt them. Overall another fabulous book from Penelope Bloom!

A Review of Punished by Penelope Bloom
Mr. Steel's Kitten - 5 stars
This is a new author to me and I was initially drawn to the cover when it popped up in one of my emails. We meet Logan, who trusts very few people other than his sister and his business partner, Dean. He is a self-made billionaire that has had a rough life. His ex-wife keeps squeezing him for more money while threatening to tell the world about his kinky lifestyle. Since his divorce, he has stayed away from Club Crave and hasn't taken another submissive, but his craving has been growing lately and he decides it is time to get back to what he enjoys in life.
Emmaline is trying desperately to make her baby clothes and accessories business a success, with just her best friend Scarlett by her side. She was expecting her inheritance on her birthday, only to find out that her father had taken it all and there was nothing left. That didn't stop him from asking her for more though and then there was her mother and her boyfriend, waiting with their hands out, demanding that she give them the money for a cruise. With mounting bills and the real threat of losing her business along with everything else she loves, she takes a weekend job at Club Crave to help pay her debts.
Both of these characters have been beat down by the people that are supposed to love them. When they find each other, will they be able to overcome all the obstacles they are faced with and come out on the other side, stronger together? Both of them will have to learn if they can trust each other and what they have found together. This was one heck of a book and I am sooo glad that I bought it.

Both of these characters have been beat down by the people that are supposed to love them. When they find each other, will they be able to overcome all the obstacles they are faced with and come out on the other side, stronger together? Both of them will have to learn if they can trust each other and what they have found together. This was one heck of a book and I am sooo glad that I bought it.

This book ENDS at 46%!!!!FOURTY-SIX PERCENT. No, that's NOT a typo. The author added another book at the end as a "freebie," but I don't care. If I had wanted to read that other book, I would have bought it! But I bought THIS book because I looked at the page numbers and the price and decided it was worth it to me to give this new-to-me author a chance.
I'm done. With this book and with this author. If she can't be bothered to tell her readers how long her books are, I can't be bothered to give her my money or my time.

Logan Steel has been burned and he trusts certain people. He craves to get back into the BDSM scene and have a submissive, he never thought he would meet Emmaline. Emmaline has her own trusts issues and Logan wants to be the one to get her to trust. Really great story and I really enjoyed reading Logan & Emmaline's story of building trust and finding your perfect match.

Logan is so immersed in his business especially now that he has been betrayed by so many he thought were close to him, colleges, friends and even his ex wife, She used him and is still trying to get everything out of him she can. Logan met Lana at a BDSM club, she became his submissive and that turned into something more. When she not only leaves him and causes a huge PR problem and blackmails him she took his unborn son and terminated him. This crushed Logan, he has not stepped foot back into Club Crave since. but lately his darker dominate side has been pushing its way back up inside of him, When his friend Dean talks him into going back Logan is wary but feels it is something he needs again.
Emmaline has never had her family to rely on, Her mom has always used her, her dad left when she was a teen in an ugly divorce that not only tore apart the family including her brother and her but tore up any and all trust Emmaline has for anyone but her best friend Scarlett. Emmeline is waiting on her birthday that day she comes into a trust fund that her uncle left her. It is money she needs to save her business. But what happens next will shock you.

This book was quick and smutty - not a bad combination. I love Penelope Bloom, but I haven't read her BDSM yet, so I knew going in that this wasn't the same shtick. I didn't like it as much as her other books I've read. Not because of the genre shift, I just get the sense that she's grown as a writer since this. It was still fun though. I keep hearing about the story ending at 50% or something like that in the reviews, but that wasn't the case with my version. It's too bad for me, I would have been all about it. Nuts.
The best part of this was the sex scenes, hands down. That shit was on point. I liked the main characters too, I thought their respective experiences being exploited by those who were supposed to love them was a thoughtful point of connection for the MCs. It gave them and their relationship depth and legitimacy outside the sex. Not a whole lot of time was spent building the characters or the relationship for the reader, so I didn't feel as invested as I could have been, but what was shown was was pretty powerful, so that helped to compensate.
The fact that the hero's favorite movie was was an awesome detail. That and the whole movie scene was really humanizing. I think the story could have benefited from more of that. I wanted to experience their connection and their personalities more. Because of the limited character and relationship development, the jump from banging to I love you didn't feel very natural.
My biggest issue though, was that the book didn't seem to know what it was about. A lot of elements of the plot were underdeveloped, or introduced only to be abandoned. It made the whole thing feel kind of patchworked together.
All in all, it wasn't a bad read, I just didn't feel very invested.

Two novels in one book
The book contains two unrelated novels by Penelope Bloom. This review is "Punished". The hero (Mr. self made millionaire) is a victim who is drawn to the heroine who is a victim. The kindled spirits engage in BDSM and become empowered inside and outside their sexual play. Unfortunately, I knew who and what was happening to the hero's company. It's disheartening when the author doesn't develop a better plot and seemingly rush to an ending of the tale. The whole unfounded blackmail made no sense when you have millions to fight against it. The heroine is neglected by her parents who use her like an ATM; yet, she continues to put herself further in debt to support her able bodied mother who resides with an able bodied man. This theme of supporting parents who in their earning years to the point that adult children are in debt or can barely afford to feed themselves is not redeeming. In fact, it's a choice that I don't respect. The author needs to do better.
Another turnoff was the hero not fighting for revenge before his company.
This author is not imaginative enough for me. Her work is cliche and predictable. I am placing her on my authors to avoid list; hence, I am recommending this book because there are countless better offering by better authors.

When Emmaline is trying to figure out how to pay her bills and debt off after her father takes her trust fund away. She starts working at Club Crave to start paying for her debts thats when her and Logans relationship starts to play out. Emmaline's famiy is awful and use her for her money and when she doesn't give enough that's when trouble starts to happen. Logan wants to protect her at all cost. What happens when protection fails? What happens when the company is trying to get taken over? What happens when BDSM is the only way you can get off, how will that effect the relationship?
This book was rushed. It started off with such great potential and the ending just was rushed and seemed like things just got tied up too quickly. There were parts of the book that were a bit more dragged out that I would have loved to have shorter just for the ending to be opened up or just have like 20 more pages to fully end it out. This book had the bones and I fell for Logan just wished for a bit more.

Very good BDSM love story
This was a great BDSM read. I loved the writing style, the characters, and the way the author pulls everything together. This is a story I would read again. I would love a second story about these characters and it being focused on Logan and his past.

Because her father did her wrong by stealing her trust fund, she is working in a BDSM club on the weekends for 5 thousand. What she doesn't expect is to find her Match. Logan has taken a leave of absence from the BDSM club do to his EX-wife and her betrayal. But when his business is struggling, he decides to just visit the club to blow steam. But when he sees the new girl on her first night learning the rules, he jumps to help her. But Logan was not expecting it to be his Match in many ways. Emmaline pushes Logan out of the past and strive to be a better man, business partner, and Dom. But will the two be able to Trust each other?

Not that dark but good

After having money stolen from her, she starts working at a BDSM club to help pay for loans and bills. Logan is a billionaire who's business is also in trouble, recently burned in a previous relationship he returns to his membership at the same BDSM club where he runs into a very nervous Emmaline. The two of them decide to enter into a Dom/Sub relationship but somehow something just isn't working. For once this is a romance where everything isn't perfect, Logan and Emmaline are constantly working on their relationships every step of the way and it's refreshing to see that. These two are unbelievable hot together and the author also gives us a little bit of 50 shades danger as well. 🤷🏾♀️

Oh Emmaline, all you need is a bit more time and everything will be ok. Getting your trust fund will help in your baby clothes business. But as you know, plans don't always work out that way. Scheming parents, no trust money, what to do. Meeting Logan Steel,is such a shock to Emmaline. Especially coming out of his bathroom only wearing a towel at a Valentines party. Then later on at Club Crave, a very interesting interaction. The story of Logan and Emmaline, getting dealt a rough deal in life with family, business deals but with only themselves to partly ease all the problems. Dirty dealings, sex, violence, crazy exes and so much more. Loved how revenge is sweet came to mind in a big way and the HEA. Would love to read more about these characters in the future.
