Nothing could make Bluebell happier than learning that her beloved childhood friend has become engaged. But when his announcement is followed by an urgent request for Bluebell to visit him in New York, she begins to wonder whether things are as wonderful as she’d initially assumed. And it won’t be long before her suspicions are proven correct.
There are dark forces at play in the city and soon Bluebell finds herself in the thick of a homicide investigation involving her close friend, a well-known dynasty and a business tycoon with a serious peanut allergy. Worse yet, there’s evidence to suggest that her friend’s fiancé just may be the murderer! And, when another person is found dead, Bluebell realizes that she must act fast if she hopes to save her friend’s future before it becomes a thing of the past!
Can Bluebell find the answers? And will discovering the truth make her regret her trip to the big city?
Find out in Bluebell’s 6th adventure, Murder In New York!
I'm a mother, wife, homemaker, pet lover, teacher, student, reader, writer, drinker of tea & wine (depending on the time of day) and sleep-deprived dreamer. I live in Syracuse, NY, with my husband, Doug (also a writer with books available on Amazon), our three children and too many furred & feathered friends to list!
Bluebell Knopps is living a nomadic life in the hope of escaping her prophecy that says death will always follow her wherever she goes.
When Nolan, Bluebell’s childhood best friend calls and asks her to come visit him in New York, she gladly accepts. Perhaps death will have a harder time finding her in the biggest city in the world.
Nolan tells her that he is concerned for his fiancee, Megan Donnerstag. There has been an attempt made on her life. The Donnerstag family is well known for the stores they own and have a reputation for treating their employees poorly. As a result, the list of possible culprits is quite long.
Who would want to harm Megan? Why? What prompted Nolan to move to New York? Will Bluebell be able to avoid her prophecy this time?
I hope the Bluebell Knopps series goes on for a long time. She is such an innocent personality who is so perceptive, observant, and intelligent. Nancy McGovern has a great talent in creating lovable characters who are believable because of their flaws.
I received this book free from the author and freely chose to write an honest review.
This was the last of the series and nothing was wrapped up at all; it was a terrible ending (there is nothing on the author's website to indicate any further books in the series are coming & it's been 9 years). Even with the series left hanging, this book alone was not good. I thought it would be better since Bluebell would catch up with her best friend Nolan; although it's pretty awful that she just left town and didn't keep in touch at all with her best friend for years. Nolan is completely different and the woman and her family he's become involved with are horrible, unlikable people. The mystery was pitiful and Bluebell's miraculously quick resolution was dumb. I didn't buy the solution or that the murderer would just confess to all. Very disappointing end to a series that started off with a decent book 1.
Bluebell the witch has come to aid her friend not knowing what that need is, discovering there has been a murder and there may be another Bluebell is going to try help her childhood friend before i'ts to late. Can she figure things out before i'ts to late, pick up "Murder in New York"and enjoy finding out Nancy McGovern's cozey murder mystery novel. 🙄 Kat
Bluebell again weaves a path for us thru not just one murder, but two! It all seems so logical AFTER she spells it all out for us. As usual, I didn't catch on until she did! Nancy McGovern has done it again. I highly recommend following Bluebell on her travels.
This book is more cozy mystery than paranormal cozy, but nevertheless a very enjoyable read. If you're looking for a short, clean, entertaining story, give "Murder in New York" a shot.
Bluebell travels all the way from Iowa to New York City. Having relatives who have never been east of the Mississippi River until this past October, I can understand her awe at Nolan’s change. However, some things never change. Bluebell gets involved in two deaths and must figure out how they happened. This was an interesting story. But, I am really interested in finding out who Nolan invited to the wedding! I recommend this book.
A quick and easy, fun read. The 'mystery' is not terribly complex, but enough to keep your attention and give you a bit of a surprise when the solution is revealed. Even though it is a fairly short book (83 pages in adobe acrobat) you do feel like you know enough about the characters to understand their motivations. Bluebell has 'magical' powers but only uses them sparingly (such as mesmerizing someone to speak more freely than usual). A few grammar, syntax and minor continuity errors detract a bit, but not badly. (a female character says 'she's trying to steal me from you' instead of more correctly 'she's trying to steal you from me'.) More careful proofreading and a bit more creative wording would help. This book is part of an ongoing series, but each stands on it's own just fine. I received a free copy from the author and encouraged to provide a review.
This is a great book; this is the sixth book in the Bluebell Knopps Witch Cozy Mystery series written by Nancy McGovern. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I read all 6 books and enjoyed all of them. I like Bluebell a lot; she was a fun and caring witch who could solve murders. If you want quick reads these are the books for you!
Bluebell she is just so absolutely adorable, the way I imagine her being. These are Wonderfully clean stories. I really enjoyed reading every single one of them. So this review could just be copied and pasted to all the other stories. But, I am happy for Nolan that he found that special someone, I really hope that there is a book coming about the wedding just curious who he invited. Thank you Nancy McGovern and I am going to start another series of yours next.
The story was great! It was really nice to find out what best friend Nolan had been up to and to see them together again! However, once again the timeframe issue pops up. It's been 3 years since book 1? Nolan is her best friend & she hasn't talked to him in 3 years? There was no mention in any of the books about Bluebell's parents & what they thought of their daughter running around without coming home, even for Christmas? I gave it 4 stars because the story is great, but wish the background details between books & regarding her family were fleshed out more.
