I highly recommend this book to any young adults. It is great to teach young adolescents to "think twice". This book has well formed characters that are extremely easy to love. They grow on you instantly and you are rooting for Alice the entire time.
The author kept the book fast paced, nothing is too drawn out. The entire time I was reading it I wasn't once bored, it's a constant page turner even from the beginning it is easy to get into and you are eager for the next chapter. The book is not predictable which was one of my favorite parts about reading it, because I like to be surprised with what happens. Think Twice definitely surprised me a few times!
This book would be great for classrooms and school libraries, every adolescent should read it!

Think Twice is a very good debut novel from a young author. I applaud Ms. McBurney for writing this contemporary YA story.

It’s a quick, engaging read. I turned the pages as fast as I could read them. It was easy to visualize the action and easy to understand Alice’s situation at the beginning of the book. Readers will quickly sympathize with the main character.

I won’t spoil the plot by divulging details, but I will say the story line flowed well. Jayne McBurney has a talent for telling stories.

I did, however, find Alice’s reactions to be inconsistent at times, and sometimes not plausible. I also think the book could have used a bit of editing before being published. These were slightly distracting as I read. For these reasons, I gave Think Twice 4 stars instead of 5. But please do not let these little negatives stop you from reading and enjoying the book.

I recommend Think Twice to any contemporary YA fan.
