Truth Alan Reacher was a biker. He was a bladesmith. What he was not, was a fool.
The moment he walked in on his girl screwing his cousin on his bike, he does the only thing he can do. He ditches the bike seat—and the girl—riding right out of her life without a backwards glance.
That is until he’s forced to attend the marriage of his cousin to his cheating ex-girlfriend. The only bright spot of the entire thing was watching some chick go off on the groom—the groom’s ex-fiancé—right in the middle of the bouquet toss.
***
Verity Ruthann Cassidy was supposed to be here today attending this wedding as the bride, not watching the festivities as a guest from the chairs she’d painstakingly purchased covers for while her fiancé—now her ex-fiancé—screwed around on her with another woman.
The icing on the wedding cake that she refuses to eat? She’s forced to attend the wedding due to her mother being the wedding planner.
However, the night doesn’t turn out quite the way she expects it due to the hot-as-hell biker sitting in the chair directly beside her. The man gave one hell of a speech during the reception that sounded like something that could have come straight out of her own mouth, and she enjoyed every single second of it.

Thrown together under similarly lousy circumstances, the two newly single jilted former lovers of the happy couple decide to go to Vegas on what was to be Verity’s honeymoon trip.
One thing leads to another, and the next thing they know, their night has gone from a celebration of being single to a marriage—to each other.
Verity and Truth now have to figure out if everything that happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
I like my hs not so obsessed with their body image. I always seem to have issues when a book focuses too much (IMO at least ;D) on the h being "curvy", carrying a few extra pounds, or having a big ass. I'm not a small woman by any means, but that doesn't mean that I want to read about the h having body image issues like it's a bad thing to have a big ass or to be extra curvy!
I like my hs stronger. I didn't like the way she always seemed to go back for more when the H treated her bad. Grow some dignity, woman! After they hooked up the second time and he didn't try to find her days later, she texted him several times and even left voicemails (granted, she only said "hey" -- but still). He pushed her away multiple times by this point in the book, insulted her and sent her away in front of his coworkers, and even went as far as to tell her things like "You’re a good lay, Verity. You’re a nice woman. But you need to leave. There’s nothing here for us. Nothing that I even want...". But she kept coming back for more!
I didn't like the H. I understood why the H wanted to push her away, but he could've gone about it in a much better way. He could've been upfront about it all, and not said the nasty things he said to her...but then again, she kept coming back for more -- so maybe it's what needed to be done!
But then after all this pushing away and the h being (imo) pathetic in continuing to come back around...
The instalove. The H then has inner thoughts about being in love with her. What?!.. I get that they had hot sex -- but other than that, what did they have of any substance to jump into feelings of love? I didn't get it. At. All. Confusing instalove is a instant killer for any book I read, so that was definitely the final straw.
I know lots of readers love instalove and OTT Hs, so they might really enjoy this book...it just simply didn't work out for me.
This story starts off with Truth finding out what truly is going on with his current relationship. While not even three hours later Verity is finding out the truth about her wedding. Then going off to Vegas with a stranger who is going thru the same thing she is. But what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there which these two find out. Someone from Truths past is causing havoc on his life and trying to take away everyone who means something to him. And of course like the hero that he is, he tries to push Verity away. But the best laid plans don’t always work. I would recommend reading the book to find out the details. It’s a really great book.
4.25 'What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas' Stars
“One man’s used up slut is another man’s brand new bride.”
Is this or is this not one of the best opening lines EVAH?! Best best-man speech ever!!! LMFAO
Lani Lynn Vale sure gave us one hell of a ride with Son of a Beard!!! Of course with a tricky premise like this one, it was set to be one surprising story, and that it was!
Truth caught the surprise of a lifetime when he arrived home and caught his live in ‘girlfriend’ screwing his cousin on his bike. Mind you, his shock and rage wasn’t for the woman herself but for his bike! That says all about their ‘relationship’ and what she meant to him. The desecration of his precious bike was the big issue!
My bike meant the world to me, and I hadn’t been able to sit on it without thinking about them since then.
Verity’s situation with her cheating fiancée (the one caught screwing Truth’s girlfriend) was even worse, specially with the way she was confronted by the situation. Poor woman.
But well there is always a silver lining, and theirs is their meeting in the wedding from hell. And a second one, that EPIC best man speech!
And boy, oh boy was that a meeting, the attraction was immediate and they sure took advantage of the crappy situation they were on. Their bodies demanded it so!
I wasn’t normally so slutty, but hell, if you saw this man, you’d have jumped at the chance to do him, too!
Of drunken trip to Las Vegas and their life would never be the same!
Truth was the very personification of hermit, all he wanted was his life of solitude with his blacksmith trade but when fate again brought Verity to his doorstep, she ended up blowing that all away.
I’m with her, what is so damn sexy about a sweaty hot man pounding metal to submission? I don’t know, but I totally got her. Irresistible!!!
“Bladesmith,” he muttered, still not taking his eyes off of what he was hammering. “Different set of training, and different set of skills are required to do the two.”
He was just as intrigued by her, with her proper facade, but out of the boy personality. Verity was everything he craved and never dreamt he wanted.
God, she sounded so prim and proper that I wanted to strip the pants from her lower half and fuck that proper right out of her.
And rock her world he did, but definitely not as much as she rocked his. They were the perfect match, and sarcastic, witty and sassy lines between them, more than prove it.
“You don’t have any time for you?” he tilted his head to study me. He was now leaning against my GG’s china cabinet, and I realized how out of place he looked in front of it. “I blow.” He blinked. “That’s good news, I guess,” he drawled.
LOL, this sure was one of Lani’s most hilarious couple. Verity really brought Truth’s best features to light, and I loved every single second of it!
“Didn’t realize you let women fight your battles, Son.” Truth’s father backed away, taking a hold of his wife’s arm. “Though I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that you can’t handle your business.” “I can handle my business,” Truth said, leaning back into his chair. “It’s just sexier when she does it for me.”
Don’t get me wrong, Truth isn’t by any means perfect. There was one moment there when he was trying to push her away, that he said some horrible things to Verity – even though he had his reason for it – so bad that I wanted to nut punch him, but after a away she could see way he had done it, and ended up fighting for him. I wish it had been him taking the first step (ok, he tried) for their reconciliation, but it also proved to us what a strong and intelligent woman she is.
Certainly all the HOT sex had something to do with her fast forgiveness, I’m sure. These two were explosive together!
“You feel so fucking good, baby. Like a dream,” I rasped, sweeping my lips up the line of her jaw.
It was incredible to revisit all the previous couples, and their women insight on their men really was spot on. Perfect description for these Dixie Wardens Rejects MC men!
“But there’s this thing about the man you love,” she whispered, not caring that the man she loved was standing at her back, listening to every word. “They can drive you insane, but at the end of the night, when you’re in their arms, everything that was wrong with that day ceases to exist.”
Son of a Beard really was a kickass ride. Action packed, hilarious ROFL moments and amazing character and relationship development from start to finish. Lani Lynn Vale never let’s us down (ok, maybe a little, because I NEED to know Ghost’s identity!!!), and this book and series is yet another proof of her immense talented in creating unforgettable stories. Can’t wait for Jessie James story! Actually I want ALL of the rest of the gang’s books like, yesterday!!! <3 <3 <3 <3
“I trust you completely, Truth. With my heart and with my body,” she whispered. “You’re a good man.”
But, most of all, I loved how he loved me. Without limits. He didn’t care that anyone thought he was whipped or too attentive to me. He only cared about what he and I thought, and that was everything.

This was entertaining. The characters exes have cheated and became a couple, so hero and heroine meet at their wedding, and the hero gives a speech that is very good and made me laugh. He and the heroine go to Vegas, get married and don’t even realize it, have sex, and then meet again some months later accidentally. Hero is not a manwhore, heroine is cute. The exes are around, especially the hero’s ex who’s territorial, but I must admit the hero always put her in her place, so it was kind of fun. There’s a lot of people who die because of the usual psycho that holds a grudge against the hero, so the heroine is hurt in the end too. There are some loose ends, as the heroine being a millionaire but this thing is some kind of glossed over, why? And there’s hero’s ex being pregnant with her husband’s twin, then she suddenly disappears from the story. Mmmm. But it was a fun read, and both were celibate after meeting. What I like most about this writer is that she’s not afraid of having celibate heroes for years, in this book they are separated for months but the hero is not with anyone else, which I appreciate. There’s always the mystery part, and one or both characters ends hurt quite badly. In this one it’s a bit far fetched because it’s just one man and he does a lot of damages, but I must admit I skimmed some parts.
I loved this series, though I'm going to admit that I read this series all right after another while on vacation so it will be hard to review them since it was all one big story to me since i couldn't review in between. I will say that I LOVE this series. I haven't found a series I have been his excited about in a long time. I couldn't put any of these books down and didn't want to finish. thinking that I have to wait for the next two books is so depressing. I can't recommend this series enough it was amazing. I connected with all these characters so much and I loved the heroes who were all possessive and didn't sleep around this this was their last day on earth. I loved all the heroines also. I can't wait for more and I will be looking into other books/series from this author.
Y'all know I hate LLV's books, with the exception of about 3 of them. This started off so bad that I couldn't even make it past the third chapter.
Verity is engaged to some tool (Truth's cousin). She goes for her wedding dress fitting and finds another woman (Truth's girlfriend) in her dress, discovering that her fiancé is actually going to marry this other woman instead of her.
Truth comes home to find his cousin (Verity's fiancé) f*cking his girlfriend, so he kicks her out.
When T & V's ex's get married, that wanker Truth agrees to be his cousin's best man!! WHO DOES THAT?!?! Plus, Verity is there as well, watching her ex-fiancé marrying another man!!! Apparently she co-owns a wedding planning business with her evil mother, who insisted she attend. AGAIN..... WHO DOES THAT?!?!
I'd have burned that church to the ground with them in it if I had been in this situation.
If these two people are that big of idiots at the very beginning, I can't even go on. They're complete and utter morons.
When I'm desperate for an audiobook, I might go back and listen to some more of it. I really enjoy Mason Lloyd's voice. But for now - I'm giving it a 1 for having such stupid f*cking characters.
Hmm, I kind of thought that Truth was sort of an ass, and that Verity was sort of a doormat. Made it hard to root for this couple. The title should have been Son of a Bitch, and it would have described Truth accurately.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Son Of A Beard is the third book in The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC Series. I have not read the first two books in this series so I am assuming you can read them as standalone's.
Truth Alan Reacher is a biker and a bladesmith. One fateful day he catches his girl fooling around with his cousin of all people and one his bike of all places!! Fast forward a few weeks and he is forced to attend their wedding. The best thing about this wedding was that Truth got to meet Verity. The ex-girlfriend of his cheating cousin. There both in the same boat really and decide to leave the wedding together. Thrown together under the most unusual circumstances Truth and Verity find themselves in Vegas on what was to be Verity's honeymoon trip. They go from jilted former lovers of the bride and groom to single to married to each other. Now Verity and Truth must decide if what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas.
I am a huge fan of MC books. I am wondering how in the heck I have never read a Lani Lynn Vale book before. Boy oh boy it didn't take me long to figure out that I have been missing out on some seriously good books. To say I loved both Verity and Truth is an understatement. I would so love to be friends with both these amazing characters. Verity is hilarious. She carries around a few extra pounds that don't thrill her but she owns them and her curves and I loved that about her. She is hilarious because she tends to speak before she thinks and is very full of questions. Questions that at time have no business being asked but she does it anyway and is ok if she doesn't get an answer. I equally love Truth. He has been though more than most people twice his age ever go through and he doesn't talk about the things in his past. He knows he has to share them for Verity to really know him but he just isn't ready. I also loved him for the way he looks at Verity and how he sees her sexy curves and doesn't think she should try to be some stick thin model looking girl. These two are just absolutely perfect for each other.
I could go on and on about the things I loved about his book. You just need to run and grab it and enjoy the ride. It's not all love and giggles. There is some serious danger and suspense in there too. It's just the perfect combination of everything together. I was sad to see this book end. I do know that I will be going back and reading more Lani Lynn Vale. I'm so glad I discovered her because she is an absolutely amazing author.
Truth Alan Reacher is a biker who is a bladesmith on the side, and would never be considered a fool. The day that he walked in on his girl sexing it up with his cousin, on his beloved bike seat, he gets rid of the seat, and the girl. If that's not bad enough, he's forced to attend their wedding. On the bright side, he watches a sexy chick going off on his cousin, and he decides he must meet her. Verity Ruthann Cassidy is watching her ex-boyfriend marrying another woman at the wedding that she planned, as the bride. She was forced to attend this farce of a wedding because her mother is the wedding planner, and she's suspicious that her credit cards were still charged, even after she pulled out of it. The only good part is the hot biker who is just as irritated as she is about the whole thing, so she rides off with to Vegas, which was supposed to be her honeymoon trip, with him. After hours of drinking, this newly single couple ties the knot. There was such much to this story, that I believe this is the hardest description of this author's books to date for me. Of course I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this story, and devoured it in a matter of hours. Truth and Verity are hilarious together, not to mention the super steamy sexy scene goodness will have all panties involved, spontaneously combust into ashes. One of my favorite things about this story, was watching them trying to live together before really knowing each other. It came off realistic, plus it was hilarious! Lani Lynn Vale is completely brilliant, as every book of hers comes off original, (wish I had that talent), and nowadays, I'm completely captivated just by her name and the blurb. The loud f-bomb worthy dropping moments from the twists that came out of left field, round this awesome piece of perfection fantastically. I'll NEVER not be waiting impatiently for the next masterpiece, so I can do nothing less than HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Son of a Beard to ALL FAR AND WIDE!
YES, read the previous books, its crazy not too. Truth walked in and found his girlfriend and his cousin together, on his bike, naked. So of course Truth ditches the girl, the cousin, and the bike seat. Verity walks into the dress shop to try on her wedding dress, only to find another woman in it, and that's how she finds out her fiancée has been cheating.
Both having been made to go to the wedding disaster of the year, they figure out they have a bit in common. This turns into a quick Vegas trip, while drunk mind you. But what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.... what happens when they realize they got married? When a ghost from Truth's past comes back to haunt him and take out those closest too him, will he be able to keep Verity safe?
In true Lani Lynn Vale fashion, this plays like a movie, that has you going through all the feels. Super hot sexy times, major drama, and the perfect amount of danger to make things interesting but not over the top. This is a 5 star read and I am sooo freaking excited for the next book.... as I know or think I know who it is.
Truth's story begins with him catching his girlfriend and cousin cheating and then ends up asked to be the best man at the wedding. I absolutely LOVED his speech. There is something about Truth that captivated me from the beginning. Knowing that he had a past that he was struggling with made my heart ache for him. But I LOVED Verity for him. She too is connected to the bride and groom as it was supposed to be her that married him. I adored her. She is strong and sassy and did I mention strong? She is perfect for Truth and they are both in for a surprise when they take the honeymoon that Verity kept in the split. They are total scorch together and I loved that they were so drawn together even after what happened in Vegas didn't stay there. Then Truth's past comes to haunt them both. I loved that Truth's brother surrounded Verity to keep her safe. I so enjoyed their story and I can't wait to read more.
This is the third book in the Dixie Wardens Rejects MC series and I would have to say that Truth's story would be the best so far. As a hard core Lani Lynn Vale fan I know I am going to be guaranteed a book that I not only enjoy and love but it will never be anything less than a five star read. Truth meets Verity at a wedding that neither of them should have had to attend but that one meeting changes their futures. Truth has things in his past that he is not proud of and the main cause of his shame comes back to not only mess with his life, but to destroy those of the ones he loves the most. This book had some of the most hilarious parts in it one of them made me laugh for ages and even thinking about it now makes me smile. As per the Lani Lynn trait we get our dose of her little phrases and sayings at the start of each chapter and some of these would have to be her best work, lets just say there is one that refers to a washing machine that had me laughing out loud. Some of my best loved parts of this story include a few of our favourites from the Dixie Warden Benton, Louisiana Chapter. I loved the dynamics between Truth and Verity and they are characters that not only touched your heart but made it easy for you to share every emotion that they experienced. Their story was not an easy one with Truth pushing every inch of the way but Verity's strength was never ending and she wasn't going to give up on him. I love how this series gives us little insights into the suspense and secrets that are surrounding Ghost keeping us intrigued and guessing who he actually might be. No other way of rating this book than an absolute well earned five stars.
If there's one genre i can never get enough of, it's an great MC genre novel. They are so incredibly intoxicating because they take the one thing that you KNOW that you'll never personally join or cross (as a line), but to be able to be part of their world, even briefly, through words, is just something that i can't even begin to explain or be able to put into words. Their world seems so forbidden, so dark, dangerous, and everything that you know is different from your own personal life, that you can't help but be tempted to keep delving into it, no matter the consequences. Thank goodness that through a book, those aren't as personally damaging compared to being there physically. So of course when Lani Lynn Vale created her Dixie Warden Rejects series, i had to get on that band wagon and get pulled right in. i read the series premier book and couldn't get enough. Sadly, i haven't had a chance to read the second one, but with Son Of A Beard, the third instalment in the series, i fell in love all over again. As i did with the first novel, i laughed at all the right moments, and fist bumping the air (yeah, i'm that nerd... ) when Truth and Verity told the world off and made the nights their own after being screwed over by their ex's who happen to have gotten married.
4.5 sexy dreams
I absolutely love this series. It has all the right things that you look forward to in an MC romance, plus a little bit extra- the emotions that pour off the men that you wouldn't have expected. Behind the gruff exterior of Truth lives a man that is fiercely protective of his woman and he's not afraid to show it. It's a hot read, and the kind that will make you want to keep reading over and over and as fast as you can just to see what's going to happen next. I absolutely love reading Lani Lynn Vale's stories since even though i come to respect her as an author, i never know what to expect from her characters and even less the many twists and turns that this journey will take you.
I'm so disappointed in Truth. He was brooding manchild. He continuously disappeared with no explanation or apology. The doormat masquerading as a heroine tolerated it and kept coming back for more. She rationalized him lashing out at her to hurt and push her away and kept coming back for more. Leaving a woman for her own good in a trope that I can not stand. A real alpha hero doesn't let anything keep him from his woman. LLV also has this ridiculous habit of having her heroines just magically know the reason the manchildren heroes are hurting them and set about winning them back. That's the most ridiculous bullshit. He hurts her, then she goes to win him back. No thank you. They were both pathetic and wholeheartedly deserved each other. No need to subject other people to them.
I love Lani Lynn Vale, but this one was a bit of a disappointment. Really like 2.5 stars. Over the top drama, plot needed more development, same plot/characters just different names, and I found myself, several times, scrolling back thinking I missed something because I was confused (what happened to her mom). Just when you thought the book was going on one direction, it would switch. Just not well thought out and hard to read at times.
I seriously love this author's books, particularly this series. This book was definitely a fun one. I couldn't put it down and stayed up way to late reading because of that.
I adore Lani Lynn Vale’s books, and they never fail to disappoint me. Each month, like clockwork, I know I’m going to get something special within the pages of her newest book. I am not only a fan of her work, but I am also constantly impressed by her gift for turning out wildly creative, sexy and humorous stories so consistently and with such regularity. Son of a Beard is the third book in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone, the first two books were just as fabulous as this book, and you’d be doing yourself a disservice by skipping them.
Son of a Beard drew me in right from the start with an emotional one-two punch of anger and heartbreak. An action-packed, suspenseful romance with a splash of drama, Truth and Verity’s story was as entertaining as it was exciting. They’d both been through so much, it was virtually impossible not to root for this couple. Their initial meeting was perfect and exactly how you’d want it to play out given the circumstances. But following a wild weekend getaway, they learn—months later—that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.
This couple’s attraction was instantaneous, and their chemistry undeniable, a charge of electricity sparking between them. Lust wasn’t all they had right from the start, though, their back and forth banter was natural, organic and one of things I loved most about their relationship. Truth had been through a lot in his life, and trust and love were not things that came easily or were given freely by him. But when this big, gruff biker allowed his walls to fall, he loved deep and hard. Verity was one smart woman. She knew that Truth was it for her, and despite his repeated attempts to push her away, she just pushed her way back to him harder, showing him that they were meant to be together. I loved that push-and-pull, that will-they-or-won’t-they between them. Theirs wasn’t an easy road to travel, but it all came together to make their eventual arrival there sweeter.
In addition to a hard-fought romance, this story had an intriguing suspense plot along with some added drama courtesy of both of their exes. But Vale is no stranger to a complex plot line, and she forged Son of a Beard into a richly developed, well plotted, engaging story that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I love this author’s unique sense of humor, and it was used liberally in this book. Vale is brilliantly adept at finding and capitalizing on the levity in almost any situation. She has this innate ability to turn an ordinary, everyday moment into something extraordinary with either her comical take on it, an outrageous slapstick type response or even just some of her naturally dry, slightly sarcastic commentary. Make no mistake, though, Truth and Verity had a lot of emotional baggage to overcome, some danger to diffuse and exes to deal with on the way to their happily ever after, but it was one heck of an exhilarating, smoking hot and amusing ride.
The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series is one of my favorite series of hers, so it’s not surprising that I’m loving the spin-off Dixie Wardens Rejects series. I loved Truth and Verity’s story so much. It’s classic Vale, through and through, but just a bit sharper and edgier. A wonderful addition to a fantastic series, Son of a Beard by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me!
This is book three in the series and by far the best. I love, love, loved everything about this book. The two main characters were funny and the way they handled things had me laughing out loud. Even when the main character was being an ornery sufferable pouty man. The writing, pace, everything was so good in this one. This book isn’t per se a comedy but there were comedic things going on. Now, this is an MC book and we all think they are bad boys. Typically they are. This series though is a bit different. You have the leader that is a cop in his spare time. You also have one that is an EMT, oh and let’s not forget the doctor. So you see yes, they can be bad boys but they are some really good guys.
I loved how Verity and Alan “Truth” Reacher met. It sucked me in from the get-go. I was right there rooting for them after the debauchery that was bestowed upon them. Poor Truth. He witnessed his girlfriend having sex on his beloved bike. Then Verity finds out when going in for a fitting for her wedding dress that the dress is now being tailored to fit Truth’s girlfriend. Yes, I said Truth’s girlfriend. That is why I said they have so much in common. So these two wounded people meet at the nuptials. Because you see Verity’s ex Kenneth is marrying Truth’s ex-Destiny. The best man speech….priceless. Then these two head out to Vegas and binge drink, having a fun-filled Vegas weekend.
I loved this book. There is so much heartwarming love and humor with a little bit of drama. Truth tries to keep her at arm's length but, he just still can’t seem to stay away. She finds him based on his job and by accident. Let me say his job is hot and I would like a front row seat to witness it. Just the right combination. The drama makes the story come to life and it was eye opening for Truth. Truth has some drama and turmoil going on and Verity is there as his support. Even when he is pushing her away. My heart broke for Truth when it hit the fan.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series which is Sean’s. I would love to read Ghost’s story as well, so I hope he gets one. If you love a hot bladesmith, MC biker, former SEAL, with killer tattoos and a beard, with a strong and confident woman by his side when he allows, Then go and read this book. You won’t be sorry. Like I said this is my favorite so far in this series.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas or does it? That pesky little marriage certificate tends to make that to be impossible. But what if you don’t remember that you got married and went your separate ways? Interesting isn’t it?
I don’t think I will ever get sick of the bikers Lani Lynn Vale gives us. They are all badass, sexy as hell, have that edge of being an asshole but deep down really isn’t. Truth is no different. He is a blade smith, okay just picturing this sexy bearded man forming a sword, something that takes strength and something I wouldn’t mind sitting back and watching a sexy man doing. Truth is broken in ways some may never fully know. His past has darkness to it; he made me cry over his pain and his loss.
Verity has suffered as well. I wanted to throat punch not just her cheating ex-fiancé but even her mother as well. Verity’s personality meshed well with Truth’s, he needed someone like her, he needed that stubborn sassy type of woman that Verity showed herself to be, I applaud her that she just didn’t stand back and take it when Truth tried to push her away.
While I feel there were some issues that were swept under the rug and a few plot holes left open I really had no complaints. Son Of A Beard was another book from Ms. Vale that I absolutely loved. You can’t help but laugh, fall in love, want to slap the guys at times and cheer on the women when you read these books. Son Of A Beard is another must read!
Son of a Beard can be read as a standalone but I strongly suggest you read this series in order. No it's not absolutely necessary but it's quite helpful so your familiar with the characters and their pasts.
Truth. I knew I was going to love him from the previous books. A sexy, built, possessive motorcycle riding bad ass blacksmith, what's not to love? He's been screwed over by his ex when he catches her with his cousin and that put a huge damper on his need to get involved with any woman anytime soon. Sadly the happy couple are getting married and Truth has to attend the wedding where he runs meets Verity....
Verity had exactly what she thought she wanted, getting married in a few weeks she heads to the dress shop for her wedding gown only to find it's been altered and is currently on another woman. She's then forced to attend the wedding of her ex and his new bride because her mother is catering the wedding. But there's always a light at the end of the tunnel right? That light happens to come in the form of a sexy biker who gives the best man speech of a lifetime. Finding out his ex just married hers gives them something to occupy themselves during what could be the worst day of their lives. They head out on what was supposed to be Verity's honeymoon to Vegas and you know that saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? Well, not so much for these two!
Son of a Beard is hilarious. Yes there's drama, serious situations, plenty of sexy times but there's enough snark and straight up hilarious comments/situations that will make you snort throughout giving this one a bit of an edge over the previous books in the series. Truth an Verity are my new favorites.
Son of a Beard by Lani Lynn Vale is the third installment in the Dixie Warden Rejects MC Series. Son of a Beard can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend to read the books in order. As are: Beard- book one; and Fear the Beard- book two.
This is Truth and Verity´s story. Meet Truth Reacher, a biker with the Dixie Warden Rejects MC and bladesmith. Broken up with his cheating girlfriend he meets Verity at a wedding. Verity Cassidy who´s cheating fiancé is about to marry Truth´s ex. Both are forced to attend and there they are. One drunk trip to Las Vegas later they´re married - to each other. And now they have to figure out how and if they can make their relationship work.
I love the Dixie Warden Rejects MC series and this book is no exception. It has everything, drama, great feelings, danger, murder, love and a well deserved HEA for the main characters. Come and meet old friends, new acquaintances and enemies. Reconnect with the members of The Dixie Warden Rejects Mc and their families. I was waiting not so patiently for this book and I was not disappointed. The writing is great and you can feel the characters emotions in the words. I Love the -FACTS OF LIFE-. I Highly recommend this book and give 5 Stars. Thank you Lani Lynn Vale!
