Rate this book
STOP! Don’t swipe right. My dad needs a date. He’s around 30, single, a musician, and hot (at least the women in the audience think so, eww). He’s a great dad. He’s fun, the best friend everyone loves, and can keep up with an awesome twelve-year-old guy like myself. You’d be getting a keeper with him. Swipe left and give him a try.

What kind of kid sets his dad up on online dating? How desperate can his dad be? He can’t be in a place worse than the hopeless situation I’m in. Some jerk cost me my job and my life dominoed in a down-hill slide from there.

The calamities begin from the moment Hayden and Timbre meet. Are the complications in their lives too much to make a relationship last?

Hayden Devillier fell into the good life when the mega rock band Assured Distraction made him part of their family. His family planning didn't include becoming a father at eighteen but through the trickery of an unwanted roommate, who happens to be his cousin's girlfriend, he finds himself raising his son alone. Hard choices involving his career for the sake of his child, did have to be planned. Now Hayden feels his own life slipping by, but getting into the dating scene with a twelve-year-old active kid, proved to be harder than he realized. Then he met a woman standing on a corner, and his life is covered in more than he bargained for. A wall of water raining down on Timbre Simon changed her life before the drops reached the pavement. All she wanted to do was open he own counseling practice in Austin but instead she finds herself jobless, homeless, and friendless which started with the rain. Timber's plan does not include a man because she's headstrong and refuses to change her dream, especially for a man. The hot guy who started all of her problems seems determined to be in her life, wanted or not. When Timbre and Hayden's lives kept crossing paths, it seemed like other forces pushed them in the same direction. Can he let his guard down with a women and trust her with his son? Will she let hers down and allow him to disrupt her plan? All of this could be for nothing though, when old friends and enemies resurface to derail their lives.Read the companion book to the Amazon best-selling Assured Distraction rock star romance series where it's fun days, rocking concerts, and sizzling nights.

I loved the blurb for this one. After reading the blurb, I knew I had to read this one. Hayden is a single dad of a twelve year old boy. He's a super amazing dad. He puts his son, Crew, first. He hasn't dated in a long time. He's a sweet nice guy. Hayden was melting my heart right from the first time he met Timbre. He went above and beyond to be nice to her when they first met. Their meeting was brief but their paths cross again. Timbre has been threw a lot. She's works hard for what she has and doesn't like hand outs. She's strong and independent. Together Timbre and Hayden make a sweet couple. Things aren't easy for them. Hayden has to balance having a son and when and how much to let Timbre into his life. Timbre is trying to better herself and has future plans. I was really rooting for these two.

I enjoyed reading this one. I haven't read any of the Assured Distraction sereis but I'm definitely going to check them out now.

Yay, this was sweet because both characters were at the perfect place in their lives for each other except they didn't know it.I liked the characters and their friends who were like family...or in these character's lives, better than their family.
Good read.

This story is not only Hayden and Timbre's story but also Crew's as well. This kid had me cracking up throughout the book. We got an idea about Hayden and his life in the AD series but here is where we get to go deeper and learn all about the passionate and caring man and father he is. The way Hayden and Timbre first become aquatinted with one another is not the best of ways but everything happens for a reason right?. Hayden goes through a string of bad luck but she is one determined woman and nothing can stop her from achieving her goals. Hayden has a heart of gold and has everyone's best interest at heart always, he's upfront and honest with Crew and I love their conversations because he doesn't ever lie to him. Crew being mature and rather intuitive makes some of the conversations that much more interesting. Things occur that I never saw coming and through me for a loop and WOW it just added to the story that needed to be to told, we needed to hear it. Even though Hayden technically is not part of the AD band he's part of their family and this was such a wonderful way to close the series. I could say so much more but I don't want to give any spoilers. This is a must read. Well done once again Thia Finn. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author.

At 18 Hayden’s life dramatically changed when he became a single father to his son, having been totally abandoned by his mother. Now 12 years later, Hayden is at a sort of crossroads in his life. His son is growing up and Hayden feels that his own life needs to now start to move forward both on the personal side and his professional side. Although he’s a highly successful musician and song writer he still feels something is missing.

He meets Timbre under strange circumstances and feels strangely connected to her and for the first time in a long time he thinks it might be possible to date, or have a relationship with someone without it affecting his relationship with his son. Timbre isn’t exactly on the same page, but she is drawn to him. But as with life, circumstances jump in with both feet and they don’t come into contact again until a few months later.

This is a pretty enjoyable book, full of little twists and angst, although at times i did feel it was a bit drawn out. The hero of the story for me was Hayden’s son Crew! Each and every scene he was in brought me a lot of smiles and at times he was probably more mature than both Hayden and Timbre. Hayden’ was definitely a worthwhile hero, charming, sexy, loyal, protective, and a heart so big you just wanna take him home. Timbre grew on me although at times i really wanted her to show some gumption and take her head out of the sand. I loved the friendships with Hayden’s band, they all were there for each other, the kind of friends everyone wants!!! Definitely and easy read, with likable characters, but i just found it a little repetitive sometimes.

This is another new to me author. When I saw this is a freebie on Amazon Unlimited and the outline sounded interesting I thought I’d give it a try. And then of course there is the cover.
I’m glad I went for it since I liked this one quite a bit and purchased a couple of previous books.

Hayden is a young single dad who is totally all about his son. In fact he changed his life up completely in order to be there for Crew, his 12 year old son. He used to be in a successful rock band but gave it up because of all the touring involved. But now that his son is twelve, Hayden starts thinking about living his life more for himself.

Of course Crew is and always will be his first priority but he thinks maybe there might be room for a woman. And while he is considering this, he meets a woman. Now this isn’t really a ‘meet cute’ kind of meeting. Nope, no siree. He accidentally coats Timbre our heroine with water while she’s on her way to work. When he realizes what he did, he offers to help her out in whatever way he can but she is very independent and rejects his help.

Unfortunately this leads to a series of unfortunate events for Timbre and she ends jobless and homeless. The two run into each other and when he eventually realizes how awful her life has become, he’s determined to help her and thankfully he has the means to do it. They fall in love and when she fits perfectly into the life he and Crew have, well that’s it.

I liked this book a lot, Hayden in particular. I love how he pours all his energy into being the best father he can be and really takes Crew’s feelings into consideration before moving his relationship with Timbre further. He’s a good and loving father and I love the relationship the two of them have.

I found Timbre a bit more problematic. She was too stubborn for me at times in not accepting the help Hayden so wants to give her. And if any a heroine needs a hand up, it’s Timbre.
And while I didn’t realize it was the 3rd book in the series until well into the book, reading the previous two would have helped as I was a bit confused as to who was who in the secondary characters.
Still, I enjoyed this one and as mentioned, enough so that I’ve gone back and got the first two books.

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. I came across Thia and her Assured Distraction boys by accident - I was in a Facebook thread about rock stars and she gate crashed the conversation saying, "I write rock stars. Would you like to read my first one?" I did, bought the subsequent releases and I haven't looked back since!!

This is the final instalment of the Assured Distraction series. I'm so glad Hayden gets his girl - he really deserves it - though the journey is not without it's challenges. Throw in a cute kid, a psycho ex, job loss, homelessness, and some familiar faces we know and love and you have the perfect recipe for this 'icing on the cake' conclusion. This whole series is very well written and thought out, with intelligent storylines, strong characters you can't help but love and steamy sexy times.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this entire series of 5 star reads to lovers of rock stars or just lovers of a good story. Well done, Ms Finn!!

So this was my first read by Thia Finn, and apparently its part of a series, like the last book of the series, lol my bad. So I will have to go back and read the others at some point. Single father, Hayden, has done everything for the past 12 years for his son, Crew; including not really seriously dating. One day he happens to run into, Timbre, and proceeds to help ruin her day, a year later Timber is having the worst time of her life and pretty much homeless when she runs into Hayden yet again. This time Hayden will not let her slip through his fingers, he will do anything and everything to make sure that they give this a try. When the past comes back to haunt Hayden and Timbre's life is in trouble, will Hayden be able to save her?

The blurb for this had me thinking this was going to be something different, so I was a bit disappointed when this wasn't what I was expecting out of the story. It had some hot sexy times, but I felt parts were drawn out and others, rushed. I give this 3 stars.

If you followed Hayden through his journey, you were waiting on what will happen next in his life. Well I would say I was proud of his decisions and journey into adulthood. The decisions in which he had to make is hard on any parent let alone a single one. The sacrifices were real and the loneliness was pure. What put this over the top was how Hayden kept nothing from Crew and to be honest Crew never allowed him to. To the both of them they were a STRONG family unit and was there for one another over anyone else. That is what won me over. Poor Timbre did not have a chance because the father persistent self had nothing to do with the two working together on a common goal..... Bring her home to where she belong.

Love Hayden

Really sad to see the end of these wonderful books. We meet Hayden in His Distraction, book 2 in the Assured Distraction Series as an 18 year old cousin of Guitarist Ryan Powell who had to grow up real fast but with the help of the band and their significant others he becomes a sweetheart of a man. This book is 12 years later and the 30 year old is a very successful song writer with a wonderful son and a great life, except no steady woman. With the settling down of everyone in his inner circle, he starts thinking it's time but he comes as a package deal and is worried about how his son and a woman in his life would get along. Totally by accident Timbre is in his path and two more opposite people couldn't have been so right for each other. The best parts of this book is Hayden with his son Crew. This could be a how-to book on parenting., but Hayden's determination to win over Timbre will push him into book boyfriend of the year category. Only disappointment for me is I wished for a more detailed wrap up on the rest of Assured Distraction

Hayden is on his way to the recording office for a meeting when he hits a puddle spraying water on some unsuspecting woman. Timbre is at the bus stop trying to get to work when she's covered in water from someone driving and hitting a hole full in the street. Hayden stops to make sure the woman is all right and ends up having to take her home to change. When she calls in saying she's gonna be late her boss says to take the day off. Poor Hayden feels horrible and leaves her with some cash and his number in case she needs anything. The next days things change for her and she does nothing with his number. Months later they meet up at her new work and when he finds out what's been going on he wants to make it right, but doesn't know how to go about it. Find out what happened to Timbre during the missing months. Find out this and more in this awesome read!!!

Hayden is a single dad to his 12 year old son Crew. Hayden has made sacrifices, and suffered loneliness, in order to have a great relationship with his son. These 2 have an unbreakable bond, but need a woman in their lives. Hayden and Timbre met by accident, and when they meet up several months later, the chemistry between them is still intense. Timbre has a confidence issue, and thinks she is not good enough for Hayden. She wants to have a friend’s with benefits relationship, but Hayden wants a proper relationship. Will these 2 eventually have their HEA? You really need to read this for yourself to find out!
This story is full of twists & turns, action, drama, heat, and love. This author has done an amazing job in writing this storyline, and I was hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I recommend Thia’s work for all readers, and I cannot wait to read more from her.

Hayden's Timbre
Amazing!! Perfectly beautiful! You can't get much sweeter than the tough on the outside, soft on the inside rocker named Hayden. While he has some crazy, literally crazy, skeletons in his closet that leads to one amazing story. For so long he put his son first ahead of everything and now it's time for Dad to have his time.
Meeting Timbre turns out to be the best thing for him regardless of the way they meet. Timbre who is going through an extremely hard time in life has to learn to accept the help of others to pull herself back up.
Mixing a hot rocker, single dad with a stubborn down on her luck woman is going to explosive. Finn really weaved a beautiful tale that kept you wound up until the very end!!

Hayden's Timbre by Thia Finn is my first book written by this author. And I am sad to know this is the final book in the AD Rock Stars series. I loved this addictive story of single father Hayden and struggling Timbre. Hayden's dynamic with his son Crew has you wondering how can anyone not fall in love with him!?!? Timbre's strong will has you rooting for her as she overcomes her shortcomings while learning to let in people in her life to help. I could not put this book down and had to know how their love story would play out. There are plenty of surprises to keep you guessing to how the book will end! This rock star romance has the perfect equation of love, suspense, and a glimpse into the rock star lifestyle. Now I need to go back and read the rest of the Assured Distraction Series!

Hayden is a single dad, hot rocker who now writes songs for others so he can be home more with his son. Crew is his pre-teen son who has a great sense of humor. I loved this kids way of looking at life. Timbre has been down on her luck for a while but things only got worse after she met Hayden. Through all the twists and turns of life can Hayden and Timbre form a relationship that can last?

This is another great book by Thia Finn. Finn really knows how to tell an amazing story. I highly recommend this one as well as all of her books.

I was gifted this ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Brilliant but I am so sad.....

This series was so brilliantly written. I am so sad to see it end. I need to put the thought into Thia's head that maybe just maybe she needs to do like a reunion book or something like 5 years later thing. Seriously I think that is an awesome idea hint, hint and wink!!
I absolutely loved this book. Hayden, Timbre and Crew are awesome together and its a little bittersweet. They had stubbornness, morals, drama, hot sex and most importantly LOVE for each other. So thanks again Thia for another awesome addition to this amazing series.

I really like Hayden. It's hard, in the music business, to be happy with a soulmate. Nice that he finally gets a chance to do so; even if the said someone likes to 'cut off her nose to spite her face' as my father has said (trying to be independent to a stupid degree; I truly understand the impulse, but everybody has to accept help at times)
Fantastic companion to the AD series. And while it helps to have read the series (or at least Distracted No more), can certainly read this without needing to have read the others.

This Story...Music To My Heart!

WOW...Thia Finn certainly played this one absolutely perfect! Every word in this story played to the heart. Hayden is everything a woman dreams of...gorgeous, sensitive, caring, protective and a great dad. He's protected his heart but along comes Timbre and he's singing a different tune lol! But can she trust him with her heart or is it too late? Old ghosts and new enemies appear, can this family overcome? Story gives you the feels, well-written and relatable. Highly recommend this read!!!

Well, Holy Crap!
Thia has done it again!!
I absolutely love Hayden, Crew and Timbre's story.
Hayden...Well damn, what can I say. Nothing like a true Sexy Southern Rocker, hands off Ladies-He's mine, I licked him first!
Timbre...innocent and worth all the love these fine men can give her.
Crew...He had me laugh right along with his little smart ass comments.
Definitely recommend - Thia Finn is an excellent story teller!

This was an amazing read! I loved Hayden and Timbres story! Hayden is a fantastic dad to his son Crew, Timbre is a girl who is in hard times and is stubborn as ever! There was some frustration at how Timbre acted which was super stubborn BUT Hayden would give up without a fight! This story was hot, sexy, funny and suspenseful!

Hayden was first introduced in the Assured Distraction series. He's been one of my favourite characters ever since then. Hayden's Timbre was the perfect ending to this series and perfect for Hayden and Crew. You see little peeks of other characters but it was good to see Hayden get his own spotlight in this book. Well worth a read.

Hayden's Timbre is a companion novel to the Assured Distraction series and if you loved the guys from AD you would have wanted more of Hayden. Thrown into fatherhood at 18 and the life he thought he had planned out being totally turned around with the birth of his son Crew, Hayden did what he did best and that was make the best of what life had dealt him. Fast forward on 12 years and this man had put his personal life on hold for the most important person in his life, his son. That is until some unexpected meetings between Timbre and Hayden have him wanting more for both himself and Crew. These three take us on a roller coaster of a ride as life changes throw all of them for a loop but it might just be the youngest one of them all to work it out quicker. Their story is about not only love but family and the importance to it even if family is not blood. Hayden's Timbre will have you gripped and addicted with no hint of distraction. Their story is drama and action packed with some seriously hot and steamy scenes that will have you totally fulfilled and content.

Love happens when you least expect it to and even when you’ve just been dumped in street water. Timbre is on the street corner when she is literally flooded by a trucks overspray. The driver...Hayden is awfully apologetic, offers to take her home so she can get changed. This was the start of a domino effect of bad luck, Timbre loses her job, her roommate heads to LA and she finds herself in a homeless shelter. She meets Jenna, starts waitressing in a bar and who should walk in but Hayden. Let’s just say a little persistence pays with Hayden wheedling his way into her life. He organised a receptionist job at the studio and a roof over her head. Crew and Timbre get along like a house on fire and everything is looking up. Timbre is just starting to feel like she belongs with this extended family.
This is a witty book which shares the unconditional love of a father, the trials and tribulations of a preteen son and the kind of friends we all should have. Crew is very observant and non judgemental, but he’s still trying to find his place between a kid and a young adult.

My biggest disappointment is that I thought this would be a book about a boy setting his dad up for online dating, and the heroine would somehow get involved. I hoped shenanigans would ensue. That didn't happen. If you're looking for that story look elsewhere. After getting past that disappointment, I settled in to a story about a single dad finally meeting someone worth dating after 10 year. I didn't like how Timbre was so rude in her desire to remain independent. Maybe it's because she only had herself to depend on for so long, but we all need help sometime. I like how Hayden didn't give up on her; he recognized that there could be something.

Hayden's son, Crew, could seems a little older than 10 sometimes but that happens when you're dad was 18 when you were born and promised never to lie to you.

I liked this book, but I do kinda feel like I should have read the Assured Distraction books. At the very least I should have read Ryan and Peri's story.

4 stars for Hayden and Timbre

I loved the title and the cover. I lived the plot line. Musician and single dad who left his carrier in a rockband behind for his son. Still successful and has a meet chance with the woman that won't leave his mind again. For her this one encounter leads to a downward spiral with her jobless, homeless but still ready to fight. Awe multiple more meets and Hayden could not work with a woman as determined to make it by herself as Timbre came along. I loved this stubbornness but it also drove me up the wall. I love the band, the friends, the son. There are more stories around this people and I plan to meet them again. The energy and chemistry between Hayden and Timbre didn't stand out as much for me as I wished. My mind knew where their hearts went and that they fitted but my heart didn't feel the butterflies of a growing relationship. That's where I took one star out of the rating.

well the series has come to an end, and Hayden's story doesn't disappoint. the boy who gave up his career to raise his son. he changed his life to give his son a stable one when his mom signed away all rights. timbre is trying to make ends meet, school debts, dead end jobs that don't pay much and looking to vet rid of employees. the way they meet is funny, she is going to work and he soaks her when he hits a puddle and splashes her from head to toe. he tries to make it up to her but she wants nothing to do with him but he is persistant and he gets her a job working for Peri a safe place to live. it's a really sweet story of two people finally getting their HEA. throw in a twelve year old, the band, family and a horrible dead-beat mom and you have a great book and ending to the AD series.
