I went into Fallen Woman with the knowledge from a trusted book friend, saying the book was amazing, and a synopsis. That was it. I had no idea what to expect.
So I started reading, and I soon realised that trusted book friend was right. This book, has literally been my life for a whole day. Fallen Woman infiltrated my heart and soul so deeply, I was consumed by it. From start to finish I lived and breathed these characters. I hurt with them. I cried and smiled with them. Ultimately, I fell in love with them.

Fallen Woman, was not an easy book to read. The writing is utter perfection don't doubt that. It's the story line that is hard. This book broke me down, at times it felt like I had taken a punch to the gut and at two points I had to stop and take time to mentally process all that was happening while I cried. All sounds pretty bad when put like that but if that's what you are thinking, then you couldn't be more wrong. You'd be so wrong.

This story, while heartbreaking is so, so beautiful. With every low part there are parts that lift you back up and breath life back into those broken pieces. I found myself devastated by some of the things that happen in Fallen Woman. I found myself hurting, literally in pain, for characters, in a book. I can only praise Stephie for the emotion she throws into her words. I also offer her huge praise for how she lifts the books from the lowest lows, literally, to the highs, that were a joy to read.

I cannot fathom how Stephie felt while writing this book. Her lead character Gia, was someone I ADORED. Given the hardest and most disgusting crap ever she remains focused and strong for her babies. She's one of those characters you can't help but care for and want to help. I wanted to be her friend. But she didn't need me, she had Jase!

I actually don't know where to begin with Jase. Our hero. And by hero I mean, literally a HERO. This man was sheer perfection. Swoon worthy. Fierce. Loyal. And protective. He is everything you'd want and need. His relationship with Gia is intense, passionate and just stunning.

I've only read one book by Stephie before and I'm gutted that I've only just properly found her. She is now an author, whose books I will read no matter what. Stephie’s love for her characters is evident in her words. Stephie’s writing is captivating and full of feels. I couldn't ask for any more.

Everything about Fallen Woman was flawless. A fantastically written, emotion filled novel that breaks the heart but then fixes it in the most beautiful way.

***BARELY ONE STAR***

This is hands down the most ridiculous story I’ve ever read. It seemed to start out so promising. Gia being a single mom, whose husband and father of her children tragically dies, leaving the her and her three children in dire straights, with hospital bills up the wazoo from her one sick child. With the economy in the shitter, work has been impossible to find (even though Gia is brilliant and has the degrees from Dartmouth to prove how educated she is!), and the whole family is literally on the brink of starving, with Gia even commenting on how she couldn't remember the last time she had a decent meal. Gia finally finds a truly shitty minimum wage job working in a mail room doing grunt work. Gia has no clue what she will possibly do with her 3 kids under the age of 4 while she’s working (she left them all alone and unattended while she was at her job interview), but lucky for her, her ancient 80 year old, frail, neighbor lady she’s never met before, out of the blue offers to babysit her 3 kids for 10 hour work days, and she feeds all of them all day long every day, FOR FREE. What a deal! And who says miracles never happen?

This is where the story becomes ridiculous. Gia gets her first paycheck and with all her bills doesn’t even make enough to try to help compensate her nice neighbor for a few groceries, since she’s feeding the entire family daily now. Gia’s boss Jase finds Gia crying about her dismal first paycheck at work, and then he eventually comes up with a plan to supplement her income. You see, Jase and his friends are all loaded, but they have this horrible problem. Gold Diggers!!!!

They are everywhere, just trying to get their hands on these rich dude’s money. These Gold Diggers need husbands and nothing will stop them, er well, except Gia on the arms of these said rich dudes. The catch? She has to accept said rich dudes buying her extremely expensive clothes, jewelry, dinners, AND they will pay her loads of money to be seen with them in public to keep these evil gold diggers away!!! Thank goodness she's got this nice, frail, elderly neighbor who can watch her kids as well as keep them overnight, while Gia's out on all her dates, trying to rake in some extra $$$, doing her part for humanity.

It's a great deal for her too. These friends of Jase (Holland, Drake, Max and Willum) are all loaded, sexy as sin, they promise treat Gia with the utmost respect and they don't expect sex. They just throw money at her for the hell of it, er well, to keep the scary gold digging women away from them. They even babysit all of these little kiddos for Gia, out of the goodness of their hearts. Such amazingly perfect men!

All goes according to plan until one date with Willum, and Willum decides to ditch Gia for a redhead while on their date, but he pays her for her company before ditching her. THIS is where Gia shows herself to be TSTL.

She decides to stay at the bar, instead of going home and actually being a mother to her children (who she seems to see very little of these days....), and stays late drinking, when she realizes she left her phone at home, so she decides to walk to the scary ass bus stop by herself, late at night, and lo and behold, she gets mugged and almost raped. Who could have seen that coming? She could have caught a cab home earlier, but no, much better to splurge a $100 on drinks at the bar instead.

Next TSTL move Gia makes is on her date with Holland. They get drunk and he talks her into giving him head, you know, to make her a REAL whore, but hey, she got an extra $200 out of the deal so CHA-CHING Baby!!!

Gia and Holland go out for another date later on in the story and
I almost expected the Disney logo to show up at this perfectly sickening, yet unbelievable ending.

4 Not so Bad Stars

I don’t know why I picked up Fallen Woman. It was a random Kindle Unlimited purchase. Or maybe the author contacted me? Here’s a tip, when I get emails from authors, I sometimes one-click their other books to see if I like the writing style. So, don’t get discourage if bloggers / reviewers don’t message you back. You might get a review out of it anyhow.

I was intrigued by the book because of the summary, hello SINGLE MAMA! And the cover.

So, after reading the book, I thought this was an old book, but I realized it was published 20 days ago, so I will have to put this disclaimer here.

I liked the storyline and the book was overall okay. There were some things I let go that might have bothered other people (see low star reviews). The book needs some tweaking, there are a few plot holes and some things I questioned, but I thought it was an older book. Anyhow, I’ll still keep the 4 star rating because I liked the book. Flaws and all.

Or I’m just a sucker for a single parent book.

I’m actually a HUGE sucker for a single parent book.

Gia is a single mama to twins and a little girl. All under the age of five. She’s poor but was once rich. Her husband was a criminal who died. This screams damsel in distress and it’s all me. You want a Cinderella storyline, this is it!

Jase is the rich Hero that is there to save Gia.

I let a lot of things slide because I liked the storyline. I found some parts repetitive and I felt like the author could have used a better editor (I never take away stars for this, that’s just me). I would be reading a sentence and then the next sentence would say the same thing, but in a different way. That was a little distracting, but I let that go.

I usually don’t like angst, but I was really enjoying it in this one. Gia and Jase seem to never get it together. It’s hard to explain but the steam was low between Gia and Jase, but the tension was really high and really good. I’ve read FOUR slow burn novels now and I was so ready for a book with SEX SEX SEX, but to my surprise I didn’t need much of this in this one. What can I say the plot kept me on hooked.

Jase pimps out his friends to go on dates with Gia so she can make a little extra cash. This isn’t everyone’s storyline. Why would you want to read a book where the Heroine goes on dates with anyone, but the Hero? I dunno. I found the side dates interesting. Hard to explain. I liked reading the different guys she went out with. I wanted to see where the storyline would go.

A few times Gia is very hard to understand. She would need treatments for her daughter and would do almost anything for them, EXCEPT take money from Jase. Call me crazy, but I’m a mama and if I needed money to take my daughter to go see a doctor, I would take money from a baby if I needed. Okay, maybe a rich baby that wouldn’t know the difference, but you know what I mean.

Stuff like that I let slide. I felt like Gia’s personality is like that. She loves her kids, but she has pride and she doesn’t want to “use” Jase.

I would definitely read from the author again because I’m curious to see where her writing will go. I think if she got better beta readers, or a different group with a new editor, her books will be unstoppable.

FALLEN WOMAN: It kicks starts us off in the 'Prologue' here it sets the pace for the story how she went from rags to riches, and then back to rags again but with more at stake in the blink of an eye.

She grew up dirt poor, an absentee father, a mother who was burnt out, her only escape was making sure she studied hard and made something of herself, getting accepted in a prestigious college with a full academic scholarship helped aide in escaping her life. Marrying, and both earning good wages they never expected to be stung by the recession.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Her castle came falling down around her ears. Things took a turn for the worst, both lost their jobs, she was pregnant then the last straw was losing her husband.

Living in the projects, raising 3 children as a widow, with one child sick, she is just barely struggling to make ends meet, just when she thought life wouldn't throw her a life raft she lands a job barely paying minimum wage but it's enough to scrape by with rent, food and utilities.

Leaning on a grandmother like neighbour (Miss Pearl) whilst she works this surrogate grandmother figure takes the children under her wings and then making a new male friend at work in the mail centre things are slowly looking up.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

These two strike up such an unusual friendship, he’s a wealthy business man and she’s white trash on the wrong side of the tracks, there's nothing he wouldn’t do to help her in anyway he possibly can. He then strikes up a plan amongst his friends that if they need a date to a black tie charity event etc they would hire her services for $500 a date. A fairy tale Pretty Woman. He swooped in like a knight in shining armor.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic They all have a ton of money. I mean a ton of money, and they get used by woman looking for built in paychecks, not loyal husbands. So Jase asked if I'd be willing to accompany them to different functions to help keep women at bay.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic He'd taken my heart and breathed life back into it like it was a balloon that needed inflating. He was my confidant, my friend, and holy hotness batman, just a beautiful man.

It seemed the perfect plan to keep vultures away from these eligible bachelors and helps her out at the same time, the plan seemed foolproof.

Until it wasn’t.

I didn’t expect to be drawn into the story as quick as I was, as soon as I jumped into the ‘Prologue’ I was invested in finishing this story, to say I was hooked was an understatement. Being a first time read by this author just sweetened the deal, she had me eating her words up page by page, chapter by chapter, I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a book as much as this one in a long time. I am definitely going on a one click spree today to grab others by this author.

DNF at 50%.
Main reason I stopped reading this book was because of the ridiculous proposition made by the main male character. The moment he made the proposition a red flag went up. Also I can't believe the main female character went along with it. No way would a guy who likes someone propose something like this. As far as I read the book the connection between them seemed fake and forced.

Oh dear…where do I start….?

Fallen Woman is a story surrounding the downfall of Gianna LeBron raising three kids on her own after the imprisonment and death of her husband, Ryan.

During the first couple of chapters, I was a sympathetic to what she was going through – struggling to make ends meet and trying to better her and her children’s lives after their world was upended.
Gianna finally gets a job in the mailroom at Faston. Gianna had leave her 4 year old twins, Megan and Trace, to watch her 3 year old, Emmy, since she could not afford a babysitter or had any family for support.

After Gianna finds out she’s gotten the job, she’s excited and whilst doing a little jig of celebration, she meets Jase Lane.

Jase and Gianna kind of have an instant connection. At this point, I’m all lip-biting with nerves and giddy with what I was hoping would come.

Well.

Jase Lane doesn’t give two craps about what Gianna is trying to hide from him – her past or her present situation. He was interested in her and just wanted to help. Jase takes an immediate liking to her three small children and the two carry on a routine of talking every night and lunching every day.

Jase is determined to help Gianna by any means necessary. Here comes the kicker…

Now, this was where all sorts of red flags started to raise for me.

I’m still liking Gianna, as she protests how wrong this proposal is…what it seems like…and let’s call a spade a spade – what it actually is.

So, after working out her situation in her head, Gianna agrees.

So we go on this adventure of the several occasions she attends with his “friends” and how they know not to take it any further than just friends. They mingle & she gets paid w/ gifts.

Now, my e-reader is shaking in my hand…I’m tempted to stop reading…but I go on. How does a man who seems to care so much basically pimp the girl he’s interested in to his “friends”?

Well. It gets worst.

Gia (or Gianna) starts developing feelings for Jase, while seeking the attention of his friends.

Are you getting pissed off yet?

Now, my e-reader is still shaking in my hand, minutes away from being chucked against a wall, but again, I forge on (so smart of me, right?)

One night, while Gia is out again with Holland, things take a turn for the worst.

When a tragic mishap occurs with her neighbor/babysitter, Pearl, Gia leans on Jase for emotional support. Gia fails to tell Jase what happens that night. He has to literally ply it out of her. When she tells him, he of course asks the same question as the doctor. She still won’t do it.

So, Jase takes matters into his own hand, thus leading to a slew of drama.

You’d think Gia would finally relent and do what she should’ve done from the beginning, right?

Nope, that would be too easy.

Everything that happens after that is kind of an angry, red blur to me. Jase admitting he’s been in love with Gia since he saw her that first day. Jase telling Gia his friends all knew his feelings and hopeful intentions with Gia and her children.

Yet, you (Jase, yes you) came up with this lofty plan of basically pimping out the woman you have “so much respect for”….This is the point where my hair pulling started.

And you, (Gia, yes you) watched and “cried” as Jase was trying to deal with what he did to Holland in your defense and you still didn’t give up the damn information that he needed to end this drama in the frist place.

This book took such a major nosedive, I was shocked. So shocked that any of this could even been deemed as romantic or make for a great love-story of sorts.

There was so much selfishness rolling around…lies…betrayal (by his so called friends who all cut off contact form him in fear of being outed by the contract)…bad judgement on both character’s part…mish mosh of feelings an actions that I could never relate to….I’m just pissed.

My opinions are my own, so do not let my review deter you from reading.

I haven't been signing up for a lot of books to review lately, but as soon as I had seen this book's synopsis, I was immediately captivated and hit the request form. So glad that I did.

Fallen Woman has a very interesting, but realistic outlook. Here's a woman who knows what it's like to everything and nothing at all. To have everything you could have ever wanted... the world at your grasp....and the perfect family.... only to have it taken away.

I admired this story, as it felt to have a very human quality through the character of Gianna. I could feel her plight, her outlook, her feelings and her struggles. And also the need to protect her family. In fact, I felt a lot of admiration for her. She was a woman knocked by life many times but refused to be defeated.

Her meeting Jase-- the wealthy businessman- to me, was the only cliche part of the story as it from a real side of view seems too fairytale like. I'm not saying this to take away from the story and Gianna's journey (and Jase's). Maybe it's like, after reading many books, a girl down on her luck meets hot, enigmatic rich hottie who has secrets, sets up contract deals, and may be the answer to her problems may seem like a plot set up that I've encountered way too many times.

BUT! Don't let that deter or fool you from this read. I actually liked the character of Jase. He, too, had a likable personna and was commenable for his words and actions toward Gianna.

He and Gianna certainly have not an easy relationship through and through. I did not expect for it to have such feels and angst? throughout and to pull on my heartstrings the way it did. Then again, life and love have never meant to be easy to begin with, and we get to see it unfold in this complicated tale written by author Stephie Walls.

This is an amazing don’t blink story! Gianna LeBron clawed herself out of poverty and made a life for herself just to have the rug swept from under her to find herself right where she had started. She blinked and everything around her just came tumbling down ....

I was a blubbering fool thru a lot of this story because it was SO real and relatable. This plight happens to people ALL the time. However, they don’t always get a Jase in their lives to help save the day. That’s why romance fiction exists :)

There wasn’t a moment in this story that I wasn’t feeling something! My heart sang and it cried equally. I was amused as much as I was frustrated. It was real life, people. It felt exhilarating to read.

This novel is so much more than meets the eye. You will be stunned at some of the turns it takes, and you might be a little confused as to why. But Stephie Walls makes sure to round this story up very well in the end and everything just clicks. Amazing!

I jumped straight into this after reading the brilliant 'Her Perfect' but it lacked the tension, chemistry and um, all around polish of the other book.

I kind of wish I could have beta read this, there were so many plot inconsistencies and red flags ("hey single mum of cute little kids, why don't you go out with my friends. Don't worry about your little ones, I'll take them to a water park and we 'll hang out in swim suits together" or "hi, I know we've never met before but I'm your 80 year old neighbour. I'll take care of your three energetic little kidlets for ten hours a day every day and feed them for free for you") that alarmed me. I can suspend dusbelief, but blimey this woman was supposed to be bright and beautiful. Yikes.

Well, well, well! This book certainly grabbed my attention. I mean, how could it not? this woman who fought tooth and nail to get where she is- A Dartmouth grad that she put herself though. An excellent job, she married her best friend... who dies a very short time later and her house folds like a deck of cards, then winds up right back where she started from... in the ghetto as a widow with 3 children under the age of 4, one of whom has high health needs. No money, no job, no family,...a daunting realization that this could happen to any of us.

I mean with a beginning like that alone, you've got me... I have to know if Gianna makes it...do those babies make it?

And then on walks a savior...Miss Pearl... and another...Jase Lane... and then things get a little screwy with the introduction of Jace's friends to try and help out with Gianna's problems.

oooh, yeah, you should really check it out for yourself and see if it's your cup of tea! I don't think you would be disappointed if you are a lover of the drawn out angst.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. I kind of hate rating books, I think I suck at it. haha! 4.25 stars for spinning a new side to an older idea. I like it a lot.

Fallen Woman by Author Stephie Walls is a stunning and heart-stopping friends-to-lovers, contemporary romance story.

"Peace doesn’t remain in my life. It’s a calm before a storm, the eye of a hurricane. There’s always something brewing, a typhoon building."

Fallen Woman resonated in my soul. I felt like I was falling in love on repeat with every turn of the page. The dynamics between the characters was fascinating. I loved learning about them as individuals, but reading about how their lives came to cross paths added a background that is not always present in stories. Gianna LeBron could ultimately be summed up into one word, determination. She was relentless in her pursuit of bettering her life and finding a way out of her past. Jase Lane was protective, swoony, and endearingly sappy. He was also a fierce lover. His concern for Gia and her children was one of the most beautiful things.

“The Lord orchestrates every encounter. There’s no movement in the world He didn’t choreograph for His purpose. Our meeting here is no different. Allow Him to provide for you.”

Everyone needs an angel and Author Stephie Walls gave us one in the form of Miss Pearl. Seriously one of my favorite secondary characters, EVER! Her relationship with Gianna was one to be cherished. It didn't matter that they weren't the same ethnic background or age. Just that one needed help and the other provided. It brought a steady stream of tears to my eyes.

"That's what daddies do, Gia. They fix their little girls."

Waiting for what I craved in this story was the sweetest torture...it nearly killed me. I kept wanting to wave a magic wand and get the favored next step. At one point, my eyes misted over and I silently cried for Gia. I sat and imagined her disappointment, pain, regret, fear. It was so overwhelming and unfair. And then the dam broke, and there was nothing stopping the flood of tears that flowed down my face as my heart shattered. I was constantly surprised by the twists that occurred in the story, reaching into the my core and wrenching out every emotion in the storehouse.

"He never wavered; he never moved - that man was solid as a rock while he held me at my lowest."

Fallen Woman book was a wrecking ball for my heart. I suffered with the characters. I laughed with them, cried with them, loved with them. It was altogether amazing and, in the end, triumphant. A highly recommended, favorite read of 2017.

"I was reminded of how far I had to fall to appreciate the rise."

This book needs to go on your MUST read list immediately.

Once I turned the first page, I was glued to Fallen Woman.

I'm lucky enough to call Stephie Walls my friend. I adore her, so of course I love her books. My adoration of this novel is much more than that. I'm critical. Things that don't bother other readers iritate me. I'm hard to please.

Fallen Woman is Stephie at her best. This story is beautiful, the characters are phenomenal, and the writing is superb. I wanted my world to fade away so I could devour every word.

Please believe me when I say that you NEED to read this book.

Gia broke my heart. I cried for her. I laughed with her. I wanted to commit murder on her behalf. And Jase? I love him. He has taken over the spot as my second favorite book boyfriend of all time. He wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for Gia. The rest of the characters were written so perfectly that they felt like friends I'd had for a long time.

This is by far my favorite Stephie Walls book. Whatever you do, write this title down. Because you need this book in your life!!

This was my first book by Stephie Walls and I'm no doubt a new fan!! Fallen Woman was such a refreshing change of book for me. I loved reading about characters in their 30's and a hero who was inexperienced and kind of nerdy. I did grow a bit frustrated with Jase and Gianna at times - him for his hesitancy to get together and her for her reluctance to receive help from him.

Gianna's situation was very sad but I loved seeing her rise up from rock bottom. These two had quite a story, and I loved all of the kids in the story too. Overall an emotional journey with lots of bumps along the way, but a very happy ending!

Gianna LeBron grew up with a strung out single mother. She worked her ass off in school got a full ride to an Ivy league college, married her college love and things were going great. New born twins, a baby on the way when the economy collapsed, her hubby lost his jobs, got mixed up in bad stuff and soon was in jail. Soon he was dead and poor Gianna was back where she never wanted to be, the slum life. Except now she had 3 kids under 5 yrs of age. One who had a medical condition that leaves his in increasingly mounting debt.

One day will change everything. She is given a chance and given a job in the mail room of a big company. When she is leaving she is spied doing the happy dance. But she is in no position to flirt back with the handsome man who caught her. Jase Lane. Then arriving home to her 3 kids who she had to leave alone to watch themselves she meets her neighbor Miss Pearl and elderly woman who turns out to be a godsend, willing to watch her babies while she works.

Jase is enamored with the beauty he sees doing a dance over getting a job and goes about "running" into her as much as he can. He falls when he sees her in tears after her 1st payday due to the fact she can't do something nice for Miss Pearl as the money wont stretch far enough. When he sees where she lives after giving her a ride home due to her missing the bus he is wanting to help and comes up with an idea she can be a no-sex escort for him and his friends. She is reluctant to do so but her daughter Emmy's illness needs constant attention and medication. So she agrees.

All is going well, the dates arent so bad, the guys are nice. No one has tried anything. She is catching up on over due bills, able to help Miss Pearl out with money since she feeds her and her family. But just as things are going well, and her feeling for Jase are increasing to more than friends. life happens and happens and happens till she fears she may fall and end up in a worse spot then she started.

This book was amazing. I love Jase and Gianna. The 4 kids in the book are awesome I wanted more of them. Miss Pearl....everyone needs a Miss Pearl in their life.

5 stars

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Final Score - 5 Teary Eyed, I'm Over Emotional Now Stars!!!

This is not your typical single parent story line. It's raw, emotional, and in your face about the true lengths a mother will go to - not only to protect and provide for her children, but how far she's willing to compromise herself to do it. I respect the HELL outta that.

Gianna or Gia is a character that you not only respect, but you want the best for her and her kids. You want her to get the HEA that they all deserve. My heart broke reading about her story and what she had been through (a less than ideal start at life, her struggling to pull herself up from being another statistic, her seemingly fairy-tale ending 1st marriage). She's been thru and experienced a lot of heartache for one so young, but what I loved the most was that she did it while always put herself last (her wants/needs).

Jase at first glance left me with a weary feeling that was soon expelled and turned into great admiration. Yes, he came from wealth and didn't think much of it ... but then he never really had to. He always had it. Being the outsider looking into Gia's life and circumstances, he began to take notice and tried to help her. Granted, his solution wasn't the "best" solution, but he tried. And somehow, along the way, he fell hard - not only for Gia, but for her kids as well. That made my heart mush! *le sigh*

This book was an such an emotional read ... after reading it, I had to call my mom (who was a single mother while I was growing up) and just tell her how much I appreciated all that she sacrificed for me and my brothers.

This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Nope.

The writing just isn't cut out for me. Too much repetition, coincidence and fairy tale in this book. 50 pages in and I am done of hearing of how she got to where she was, how hardworking she is, how amazing and different she is, how she is holding on to her secret, how great and amazing Miss Pearl is, how she is the grandmother she never had, how Derrick fit right in and is bestie with her kids, how the guys are so rich yet reserve because one of them got burn and now believes all women are only after their money but Gis is the first women after so long who is different and genuine kinda cliche bullshit, blah blah blah.

And her going out with the "clan" who are all rich and famous, who are always appearing for charity events where photographer are, wouldn't they be just a tad bit curious of why she is hanging on a different guy's arm every time?? Make her famous and just a tad bit of a slut??

So yeah, No.

Gianna LeBron grew up in poverty but knew she wanted more than the life she grew up in. She studied hard and got a full scholarship to Dartmouth. After college she married Ryan who had a had a succesfull carreer on wallstreet , had children and lived the life of luxury for a short time before her life was twisted upside down . After losing her husband, Gianna and her three children moved to Georgia where they live in government housing. Shes back to where her life began.

Jase Lane is the shareholder of his families company, hes grown up never worrying about money. Never the less, he has a huge heart and when he meets Gianna he knows he has to help her. He knows Gianna's pride gets in the way of accepting money that could better her and children's life so he arranges for her to help his friends to earn extra income.

Miss Pearl is the grandmother I wished I had, shes warm and loving. She's going to love you and help you whatever way she can if you like it or not and this is exactly what Gianna needed in her life. The love, support , babysitting and home cooked meals that Miss Pearl provided for Gianna and her children's life gave Gianna mother she never had.

I absolutely loved this book, As a mother you do everything and anything to make sure your children are taken care of and for most of us we have some support team (husbands, boyfriends, grandparents etc) and Gianna only had herself to rely on and when times got tough and she was struggling she never gave up because her children came first. This is a love story but this is a book about motherhood. If you love drama , angst and up for a twist than this book is for you. My first five star read of 2017.

Wow. That's really all I can say right now. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I went into this book, but it took me on one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Gia, as well as her children, have had to endure some incredibly difficult and painful things. My heart broke for all of them and their situation. I was conflicted with a few decisions that Gia made but overall I liked her character and ultimately can understand why she did the things she did. I didn't see the curve ball coming in regards to one character and was left feeling really sickened by him. I don't think I've ever hated a character like I did that one. Other than Jase's proposition which pretty much set everything else into motion, I enjoyed his character. I enjoyed the steady pace and progression of Gia and Jase's relationship. I can't say much else without spoiling things but overall, I liked the book and would read another by this author.

Each book that I discover by Stephie Walls just keeps getting better and beter. Fallen Woman definitly did not disappoint. Each of the characters were put together perfectly that there was no way that I could not put this book down. This book was one that would pull on your heart-strings and didn't release you until the end. The story of Gia and Jase was one that is a Cinderella story that anyone that has been in Gia's shoes would dream of. There wasn't any part that I would of changed, everything that happened made the characters who they were. And it was the character along with the ability for Stephie Walls to tell a story that will make this one stay with the reader long after they are done reading.

Holy rollercoaster!! I was instantly hooked by the story. Seeing Gia continually make sacrifices for her children pulled on my heart strings. She was driven and fierce and knew she had to do everything she could.

When she got her break and Miss Pearl came into the picture I let out a sigh of relief. Miss Pearl was a godsend. That woman made me fall deeper in love with this book!

Around 40% I couldn't believe what I was reading. After picking my jaw up off the floor I braced myself for what was to come. I stayed up until 1:30am plowing through Stephie's words. Nothing else mattered.

My heart broke for Gia throughout the whole story but it finished happily. Jase was seriously so patient. He should have been Saint Jase! Through his efforts to help, he did the last thing he could have ever wanted to Gia. Taking in the emotions of their story was sometimes unbearable. Other times it warmed my soul... I loved Jase! Especially toward the end.

I would highly recommend this book. SO SO good!!

*There were a few triggers in this book.*

First time reading Stephie Walls, she will be at a signing I will be attending this year and Fallen Woman drew my attention. The storyline was a bit different, I wasn't sure I was going to "buy in", but Miss Pearl and Jace, sold me. Gia, she had been through the ringer and was inly trying to take care of her kids, work and pay the debt owed to doctors for her daughters chronic illness. At times, I wanted to pop her in the head, sometimes her pride pissed me off...however, I remember being a single mom at one time too....so I kind of understood. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is not a typical story. It is a book about the struggle of being a single parent and what length you would go to so your children are fed, clothed and have a roof over your head. Gianna, the main character, has to make choices that are not black and white in nature.

I LOVE Stephie Walls writing. I feel the devastation of the characters in this book. I feel the desperateness that forces Gianna to make choices that others might not make if they were in her situation. A really great read.

This was just ok for me. I wasn't fully invested in the characters and the writing didn't flow for me. I liked the idea of it but the execution was a bit too far fetched. I like things to be a little more believable. Other than that it was a fine quick read for a rainy day.

Oh, hell. I'm not exactly sure what I just read. Okay, I know what I just read. But why? I've read some over-the-top drama filled books in my day, but this might take the cake. I mean, one thing after another here:

1. Sick child.
2. Twins.
3. Old Southern woman, willing to watch your kids with no compensation, and literally out of nowhere.
4. Rich men.
5. The mob. Yeah. The Mob.
6. Rich men.
7. Women who literally fall all over themselves trying to get said rich men to marry them.
8. Escort services.
9. Gay men.
10. Lyme Disease
11. Tough upbringing.
12. Drugs. "My mama doesn't love me as much as she loves needles." Well then.
13. Pregnancy.
14. Date rape/Rohypnol.
15. Getting mugged. This is a separate occurrence from point 14. Yeah. Separate occurrence.
16. Assault.
17. Court cases/police/reporters.
18. This:
I set off in search of the hag in the HR department to find out why I'd been overlooked, but when she was at lunch, Ben offered to help me instead. Ben. I didn't like his name or the way it sounded when I said it.
My husband's name is Ben, and I happen to like the way it sounds when I say it. So, yeah.
19. The use of "fermented grapes" when referring to wine. This was used twice. Twice too many, and for some reason, it bugged me. Whatever, I'm the reader here. I can be picky.

I mean, this book has the entire kitchen sink within its pages. So, I'll ask again. What the hell did I just read?

Fallen Woman by Stephie Walls is an emotional story of a young mother who finds herself at rock bottom grasping just to see the light. Flawlessly crafted, Fallen Woman is one of the most original stories I've read in quite awhile and I couldn't and didn't put it down for long. These characters are so well written and interesting I needed to see what happened next rather than sleep.

Gianna is so strong and resilient but broken down too. What seems small to us, like getting a job, is what can be life changing to Gianna. A chance meeting can change both her and her children's lives for the better but will Gianna risk part of herself to make that happen? I don't wanna give away anything so I'll stop there.

I love when I'm not sure how a book is going to flow and twists and turns and makes me gasp. Fallen Woman will break you over and over but at the end glue you back together because everyone has some cracks. 5 Stars for Fallen Woman by Stephie Walls
