New in town, Emma Lowe was hiding a big secret. Wolf shifter Kian Decker needed to find out who she was, and why she was so very appealing to him. Turns out Emma wasn't the only one in town with secrets. Now their lives have been turned upside down, and they need to figure where they stand.
The reigning female in a house full of males, I live with my husband, sons and 100lb dog Duncan. Growing up I moved around quite often, so books became my best friends. I crawled into my imaginary world, and I never really left. Forever bookworm, caffeine addict, lover of cuss words, and hoarder of makeup.
This is a great book with good characters, I was actually surprised how much I liked it since it’s a kind of paranormal romance but it works very well. I recommend it
I dislike alliteration, so Kian, Kole and Kayla didn't cut it for me. The plot is a common trope, h has no wolf and knows the pack with either kill or reject her. Awful prejudice or is it something else? The H fights for her as he knows she's his mate. It's OK but I have read this plot before, so many times.
I loved this book! It’s like all of Romans works: great characters, well told story, and lots of steam. If you’ve not read her work, this is a great place to start!!
What a great story! After reading some reviews, I believe it's been edited since it's initial release since I didn't really see any of the issues called out in older reviews.
This book did leave me wanting more though. It's a full novel but read like a novella. It easily could've been 100 pages longer (or maybe I'm being greedy). I'd still consider this an easy fun read, even a palette cleanser.
With that being said, it was very enjoyable. I wish it dove more into the world, how it all worked and their rules. A lot of this book is left to assumption and unless you read shifter romances, it might be hard to put the puzzles together and even then I could be wrong since I'm just using logic from other books.
Not much is discussed about fated mates or how it works other than there's a "connection" which is pretty surface level in my opinion. No history as to how or why they're shifters or how mates come to be. This seems important since in the next book the couple is fated mates but were able to avoid each other without issues?
Anyway, other than that the couple was great. Kian and Emma were really cute. Kian was sort of a grump and with one glimpse at Emma he was done for and didn't waste any time getting to know her. It was pretty fast-paced which I don't mind with fated-mate stories, since that is how they should be.
I'm hoping the next book goes more into the mystery behind Emma's family. A lot of the conclusion was decided through speculation and no solid proof. I wanted more out of this for Emma. She deserves closure with what happened to her parents and her father's fate in my opinion is still up in the air so I hope they do a dna test in the next book to confirm.
This is a book about a girl born to ship her parents but doesn't have a wolf within her. She needs a Alpha second in line,, and sparks fly. The Arthur takes this concept and leaves it into a book that it easily read in 1 night. She shows the desolation of not turning into a wolf and how it effects the young lady's life. I found this book intriguing and interesting and enjoyable, hope you do too.
LOVE the idea of werewolves that can more or less control their inner wolves and ain’t just subject to the random fullness of the moon. the pack aspect with it’s own alpha was also a nice touch. as was the love story between Emma and Kian which took place on both natural and supernatural planes. I’m hooked!
It was a good read overall but felt like it could’ve been more writing wise. I enjoyed the story and the characters though! Loved that Kian & Emma got the ending they deserved. Hopefully will see some more of them in the next book!!
If you like shifters definitely give this one a try! The spice was pretty good as well!

I couldn't get past the first ten pages of the book. It needs heavy editing to be readable. What I read had the makings of a good story, so I suggest edit it, and then pre-release it
Unimpressed. The story is stale and predictable, the characters poorly defined, and worst of all the editing is horrendous. The style this book is written in is confusing and conflicting. No need for me to read any further.
There was a few spelling errors that were very obvious and should never have been missed but overall, it was a brilliant beginning to an awesome series.
I loved this book. Great story telling along the lines of Sherrilyn Kenyon. And a strong female lead who was never a damsel in distress! Such a sexy book
Horrible editing. No character depth. I made it through half the book and just gave up. Also something wrong with the way the lines were set up was so distracting.
