Once Should Be Enough #2

Don't Think Twice

Rate this book
WILL
Cassie is more than a friend with benefits, and I love helping her overcome her shyness in the bedroom. Now our teaching assistant has his eye on her too and all my primitive instincts are taking over. Maybe I'm being a bit possessive, but what have I got to lose?

CASSIE
I told Will that once should be enough, but he's determined to make me scream over and over again... I feel truly sexy for the first time in my life, but with a new wager on the line I'd better think twice before falling for my best friend.

This 35,000-word sequel to the hot new adult romance novella ONCE SHOULD BE ENOUGH can be read as a standalone--but you might want to sit down (on a towel). If you like your romance swift, sharp and sizzling, then DON'T THINK TWICE!

Friends to lovers is a trope I really enjoy, and Kaye's latest novella was no such exception. This is actually a sequel, but when I opened it to start reading I wasn't aware of that. This could be read as a standalone, as I did, but I must admit I wish I'd read the original novella first as I did feel I'd missed out on their blossoming connection and the build up.
Will and Cassie are biology lab partners, and Cassie had casually mentioned that sex was rubbish, she'd never come. Now what red-blooded male wouldn't pick up that gauntlet? I enjoyed seeing dual point of views from them, at how uneasy they both were as to where the relationship was going, if it was just friends with benefits or something more, neither willing to put their hearts on the line and admit it was a relationship they were after, for fear of rejection. Having been in this position with a male best friend, I found it completely relatable and true to life.
Kaye is great at not just descriptive and hot sex scenes, but she has an effortless comedic style that I really enjoy. Nothing feels forced or over-the-top. It makes for great steamy humorous writing, which is a weakness of mine. I had commented on a previous novella of Kaye's I read that I wasn't a fan of her cover design - but this one is spot on. It's eye catching, looks professional, and is the type of cover that would make me pause my scrolling and read the blurb.
I look forward to reading more by Kaye, I'd love to read a full length novel by her, to give me time to get a real emotional connection to the characters, because if she can nail that, on top of her wit and sex scenes, she's really one to watch and would be added to my automatic authors to read list! A great four stars.

This was a fun and sexy follow-up to the novella, Once Should Be Enough. Don't Think Twice can be read as a stand alone, but I think it would be best enjoyed after reading the previous novella so that you can truly appreciate these characters. The story picks up right where the first one left off and is again told from both Cassie and Will's points of views.

Don't Think Twice had pretty much more of everything. More exploration. More sex. More angst. What I love about these novellas is that Cassie and Will's experiences and sexuality are unapologetic and truthful. There is this romanticized fantasy of specific types of sex/positions, when the reality is often less than stellar. Sex can sometimes be awkward and uncomfortable, and yes, certain acts are much harder to actually perform than how you imagine them in your mind. Ahem, hot tub. The honesty of our characters though made the story and situations so much more realistic and relatable. At the core of it, I think this is a story about finding, understanding, and accepting oneself.

Just as in the first book, I was confused and annoyed by Cassie's hot and cold behavior. I also felt like there was some unnecessary drama thrown into the mix this time around. The epilogue more than made up for it though and I was happy that Cassie and Will worked through their fears and insecurities. Don't Think Twice is a quick and enjoyable read that gives us more closure to Will and Cassie's journey, but still leaves the door open to future adventures and bets. ;)

Now that Will has help Cassie over come her aversion to sex they find themselves trying to figure out what is going on between them. Neither one of them wants to lose their friendship with each other but it feels like more than friends with benefits. Will is helping Cassie learn about her sexual self & at the same time not wanting to overwhelm her emotionally. Will wants more but knows that it has to be up to Cassie to decide what they have together. He just doesn't do a good job of explaining that to her. As they navigate the land mines of discovering no-strings attached sex together it isn't easy for them to keep their hearts from getting tangled up in the mix. When they part for Christmas break after a heated exchange will it be the end or will they decide that there is more going on than just a romp in the dorm room?

This short friends to lover story is witty, blazing hot & all kinds of frustrating. Our two characters are really good at talking with one another but can't seem to talk about how they feel about one another. They are locked in a tug-of-war involving friendship & incredible sex, not really knowing how to allow everything to just work itself out. Don't Think Twice is the sequel to Once Should Be Enough, though it can be read as a standalone the story has more continuity if the books are read together. Once again, I think Nikky Kaye has delivered a spicy, fun short story that requires a fire extinguisher to keep the flames down. This book is meant for mature readers.

This is the follow up novella, I was chasing from Once Should Be Enough. Don't Think Twice can be read as a stand alone, but I think to fully appreciate this story, you need to read Once Should Be Enough first.

The story picks up from where the first book ends. Will and Cassie continue to develop from the friends zone to more. Overall I did enjoy the storyline. If you are looking for a quick romance read, this is the book for you.

Will and Cassie are back! Yay! I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that wanted more of them after reading Once Should Be Enough. I was so happy that we got more!

The Story:
Cassie’s new found sexual desire takes a lot of time away from her study and when her TA offers to help her out she’s eager to accept it to pass this class. Will though is not happy at all about this news especially how this guy always just has eyes for Cassie while teaching. Even though Will and Cassie never talked about where they stand regarding their friendship it sure feels more than friends with benefits. But how will this affect their friendship? Both are worried about destroying their friendship and keep tiptoeing around the big talk.

Thoughts:
There’s nothing wrong with this book as to why I rated it with 4 stars. It’s well written, sexy, all kinds of hot and funny. Short stories or novellas always make me feel like there’s something missing – which is kind of obvious because there aren’t as many pages as in a full length novel. Anyway, I absolutely enjoyed this book and if there will ever be a third one about Cassie and Will, I’ll definitely read it!

I was surprised that Will was selfless enough to give Cassie room to figure out what she wanted even though he wanted anything but. He was jealous of the lab guy that helped her catch up with her study but instead of confronting her and demanding to speak open about their relation to each other they both kept their feelings to themselves and sure enough, this brought a lot of misunderstanding and wrong interpretations with it.

I tend to get easily frustrated when characters don’t speak openly about what they want although I know how hard it can be at times especially in fear of rejection. The story was well written, as was the first book, and I loved all those hot scenes! Oh my! *fanning myself*

Lots of steamy scenes and funny moments are wrapped up nicely in this sexy novella which I definitely recommend to read!
Even though you could probably read it as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first book first because that’s just were the story of Cassie and Will started and it just needs to be read because it’s really good.

Don’t Think Twice
Nikky Kaye
4 stars

This is the perfect follow on from Nikky’s 1st book, One Should Be Enough. I enjoyed this it but not to the extent I loved book 1. Following on to Will and Cassie’s story of discovery, but with one is R rated. But a good R rating at that.

Still dealing with her new found sexuality Cass continues to ne friends with benefits with best friend Will. He was the one pop her cherry and now has created a sexual monster. What was a lesson in sex has turned to feelings, ones neither expected to happen. As they continue with their unconventional relationship and Cass becomes a little more daring in what she wants, Will & his alpha ego creates somewhat of an issue with school.

Together Cass and Will will open her eyes to what they can create together. But with those adventures will bring other questions and feelings neither can deny anymore... Working towards a college graduation and a relationship that began as friends will bring new meaning to friends with benefits, but what happens when they no longer want the sort of friendship instead of a love filled one.

I haven't read the first book but it's fairly easy to grasp the concept of what went on before. It would have been nice to read the whole story though.

Cassie and Will are college students, lab partners and good friends with benefits. As a result of Cassie's aversion to sex, Will takes on the challenge of educating her. It should have been once but it isn't enough and the lessons and experiments continue. They both start to have feelings for each other and won't own up for fear of losing their friendship.

When Dylan, the teaching assistant shows interest in Cassie, Will's possessiveness comes to the surface. He grins and bears it, sort of, as he doesn't want to show his feelings or upset Cassie.

This story is short and sweet. The theme of good friends turn lovers works well. Cassie and Will have an honest and open relationship. No pretense, except for showing their true feelings. They have a good sense of humour. It's an interesting and plausible story with a beautiful ending.

Don’t think twice a five-star read, a book you don’t need to think twice about reading. Once should never be enough by Nikky Kaye it does follow on from the story in Once should be enough, but it is a stand-alone novel. We first met Will and Cassie in Once should be enough when Cassie confesses to Will that she has never had a sexual happy ending, he bets her a thousand bucks that he can give her a happy ending, he thinks it will be the easiest cash he has ever made. Little did he think that feelings would get involved, he hasn’t let them before. But it wasn’t with his Cassandra before, that changed something in him. Cassie and Will struggle with their feelings. Will thinks that he is just feeling so possessive as one of their class TA’s is trying to get a date with his friend. But is there more to it than that? Only time and friendship and some hilarious circumstances will tell. This book was both funny and honest about sex and love and the complications that arise from both.

Will & Cassie's friends with benefits. He enjoys helping her explore her sexual desire & get rid of her bedroom shyness. Although she told him once should be enough, he wants her screaming the whole time. That makes her feel something for the first time in her life, sexy! However with all their sexual encounters, it takes Cassie away form her studies & she falls behind. Their TA, who's always only got eyes for her during class, offers to help her, which she accepts. This upsets Will, who's been hiding his feelings for her. Will he disclose his feelings to her? Does Cassie feel the same?

Just ok sequel to Once Should be Enough.
The whole time I was reading I was feeling like this continuation of Will & Cassie's 'arrangement' felt forced. It was as if this sequel was never originally planned for but people were requesting more - come to find out that really was the case as Nikky admitted that in her acknowledgments section at the end of the book. At times it was even kinda cheesy (especially with the "once should be enough" line at the beginning - the title of the original) and the timeline jumbled me a little.

It had been more than a few months since reading Once Should Be Enough so I couldn't exactly remember if Cassie was always this annoying or if her new found 'umph' made her so.

I was disappointed by this book but I'm still looking forward to her next read. She has a great sense of humor and a sneaky way with words that hooks you.

Don't Think Twice is a continuation of Will and Cassie's story in Once Should be Enough. Will has always liked Cassie as more than just a friend with benefits but is afraid to come out and tell her. Cassie is starting to realize she has more serious feelings for Will as well. I enjoyed this one even more than Once Should be Enough. Don't Think Twice is hot, with steamy love scenes that burn up the pages and funny also. I absolutely loved the ending as well. This can be read as a standalone, but one really should read Once Should be Enough first to get the full effect.

Very unsure dialogue between the characters. I'm not sure if I read part one of their story or not. The reason I gave it a five star review is that Cassie and Will characters made the author's story longer because of the unknown they're both too afraid to communicate with one another. The quirky funny moments and embarrassing scenes just filled in with what would've been a shorter story. I think the author did a good job filling in the gaps of the storyline to a conclusion that was already apparent.

This is a continuation of Once Should Be Enough, and while it was okay, I didn't really feel like I could connect to the story because it was basically a second installment of the same premise, and the premise wasn't that strong enough to carry it.

It was cute but not in depth enough to really delve into properly. The sex was good but felt rushed, the jealousy didn't really give me the feels and misunderstandings were superficial. I enjoyed it for was what it was, but it wasn't all that.

I liked Cassie's growth and her featuring less stereotypical views of sexuality and relationships. There were some drawbacks. Wil and Cass had some hiccups that were annoying, they shouldn't have existed in my opinion. Considering that this story was from opposing POV's we got to see in both their heads, and what they thought didn't come out if their mouths, nevertheless, this was more enjoyable than the first book.

This book gives us more steamy heat, humor, exploration and sex with adventure and is the perfect follow on from One Should Be Enough. This can be read as a stand-alone, but as it carries on from where the first one left off it would be best to read after you've read the first one. Lots of steamy scenes and humorous moments.

Will and Cassie are so hot together! What started out as a bet quickly became friends with benefits. Will knew once would not be enough when it came to Cassie. Now he wants more, but how will he tell Cassie? Does she feel the same? This was a very enjoyable story, and I look forward to more from Nikky Kaye.

Don't Think Twice picked up just where Once Should Be Enough. Cassie & Will are still lab partners who are trying to see if they want more.

I love Nikky's style of writing. It kept me hooked!

More Will and Cassie!

The follow up to Once Should Be Enough - Nikky Kaye brings back Will and Cassie in another smokin' hot novella length (slightly longer than the first) read that had all the elements of a great story!
Friends to lovers.. if you have read Once you will know their story, Will is helping Cassie get over her 'aversion' to all things sexual. And a mighty fine job he is doing. *smirk*
In Twice, the pair are exploring their 'friends with benefits' status and basically avoiding the giant monkey in the corner called 'relationship'. Do they have one or not? Enter dude from class. He's more than willing to help Cassie with her studies... or anything else she needs help with. *wink wink* Will is NOT amused. He's jealous, or he would be if they were more than friends. Which they're not. Are they?
Nikky Kaye really, REALLY does an outstanding job of packing so much story and heat into such a short amount of pages. Everything I needed as a reader was pretty much there. The characters, the flow of the story, of course the wicked steaminess.. even a little drama this time! My only recommendation is that you definitely should read Once Should Be Enough before you tackle Dont Think Twice. Its a super duper good book and Twice will be that much more enjoyable.

I recommend that you read Once Should Be Enough before reading Don’t Think Twice. It’s not necessary but I feel reading OSBE gives you the background of these characters and the meaning of the bet they are talking about in DTT.

Don’t Think Twice is the continuation of Will and Cassie’s friends with benefits relationship. We pick up where Once Should Be Enough left off. They had started as friends and Cassie confesses to Will her sexual dilemma. In Don’t Think Twice Will is helping Cassie explore and try new things with him.

We see their struggles and insecurities individually and then as a couple. There are a few roadblocks that they run into but like any relationship when they finally communicate their doubts to each other, they can push through.

I really enjoy the writing style of Nikky Kaye. She tells this story in a dual point of view and she reminds you what young and inexperienced love was like. The main objective that Nikky Kaye talks about is that regardless of our preferences to reach ultimate pleasure, no one should be ashamed of how we reach it.

Grab these novellas now and enjoy!

I really enjoyed this book. I was shouting at my kindle to Cassie. Telling her to give Will a chance. To take a leap of faith. I adored Will and Cassie, they were perfect together, and they had hot chemistry. I will admit that at times Cassie annoyed me. When she kept disappearing and avoiding Will I was annoyed. I wanted to tell Will to either confront her or end it.
The storyline for this story is easy to follow. It includes a lot of panty melting hot scenes and leaves you satisfied.

After two years of being friends with benefits Will wants more. Will is determined to break out of the friendzone. He wants Cassie to be his woman. Although he tries to show her it’s not all about sex, they can’t keep their hands off one another. When Cassie has to study with a TA Dylan, Will is jealous. Will can clearly see that Dylan wants his girl, but Cassie is oblivious to it. Cassie knows Will wants more but she is scared of losing their friendship. Will she give Will a chance? Will she agree to a relationship?

4.5 Stars of continuing adventure.

This book gives us more heat, fun and adventure between two very attractive characters.

Will and Cassie captivated my mind with their freindship in the first book. Then Will offered Cassie a proposition that she just couldn't refuse.
Now the heat and experience continues and now this has turned into something much more confusing to the characters. What was suppose to be a simple teaching lesson has Will discovering jealousy and wanting more from Cassie than he bargained for.
Cassie loves the the depth of her self discovery and it is all due to Will. Her best friend and now lover. She wants more but fears the loss of her friend. Their adventures in discovery gets so much hotter and personally I needed to stop and breath a few times. These two characters know how to heat up the pages.

Can they grow to more than friends with benefits? Can they see themselves with anyone other than each other? I won't tell. LOL! READ the book. In order to get the full benefits you really need to read "Once Should Be Enough" then read "Don't Think Twice". It is highly entertaining with a lot of steamy hot scenes that might give you a few ideas to heat up your own love life.

This author has a way of fluidly telling a story with enticing characters and not stop fun.
