Walt and his senior sidekicks match wits with a killer clown, and an assassin hired by Big Pharma to murder a holistic physician working on a cure for cancer. Things were going bad when a mysterious government spy appeared to save the day, but this spy had an ulterior motive, and it involved a member of Walt’s entourage. Chemtrails, conspiracies, and clowns are a recipe for disaster, but Walt and Lady Justice prevail.
Award-winning author, Robert Thornhill, began writing at the age of sixty-six and in eleven short years has penned forty-five novels in the Lady Justice mystery/comedy series, the seven volume Rainbow Road series of chapter books for children, a cookbook and a mini-autobiography. Lady Justice and the Sting, Lady Justice and Dr. Death, Lady Justice and the Vigilante, Lady Justice and the Candidate, Lady Justice and the Book Club Murders, Lady Justice and the Cruise Ship Murders, Lady Justice and the Vet and Lady Justice and the Pharaoh’s Curse won the Pinnacle Award for the best new mystery novels of Fall 2011, Winter 2012, Summer 2012, Fall 2012, Spring of 2013, Summer of 2013, Spring of 2014 and Fall of 2014 from the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs. Twenty-four volumes in the series reached #1 on Amazon in the past twenty-four months. Many of Walt’s adventures in the Lady Justice series are anecdotal and based on Robert’s real life. Although Robert holds a master’s in psychology, he has never taken a course in writing and has never learned to type. All 52 of his published books were typed with one finger and a thumb! His wit and insight come from his varied occupations, including thirty-three years as a real estate broker. He lives with his wife, Peg, in Independence, Missouri. When a perfectly good morning romp between the sheets is foiled, septuagenarian Walt had no idea that of all of the interruptions one was to be a case of the killer clown, a serial killer out for revenge. Women were being killed and they had one common element, an element Walt will use to his best advantage.
Meanwhile, a covert government agent is on the run from, well, just about everyone and she has one last mission to complete. A mission that means more to her than her very life and now Walt is caught up in the intrigue and the very real danger.
They say things happen in threes and Walt’s number three is falling into the middle of a series of murders that smack of cold and calculating corporate greed, no matter that the health and very lives of humans everywhere are being put in jeopardy.
Not bad for a guy in his seventies, but then again, he is a man with a mission to live life to its fullest, which being a PI certainly can be, unless this time out, Walt gets pulled in a little too deep. Filled with wit, charm and humor, as well as some pretty quirky characters, LADY JUSTICE AND THE SPY by Robert Thornhill may have been my first Lady Justice read, but it won’t be my last!

Another great funny and thought provoking Walt and the gang story. They never seize to amaze me on what the older people can accomplish if they set their minds to it. This time they are involved with clowns, secret agents and conspiracies. Read the book to see how it all turns out.
Walt is back, this time he is up against a killer clown, an assassin hired to kill a holistic doctor who is trying to find a cure for cancer. Then a spy appears, but what exactly is the spy's motive? Danger is awaiting Walt and friends, but he is hot on the trail and won't stop until Justice prevails.
A fanatic story, with an original thought provoking plot. Walt is very likable, I loved him from book one, and love him more now. Filled with quick wit, humor, and fast paced action, Lady Justice and the Spy is a true five star mystery. I highly recommend Lady Justice and the Spy to all !
Walt Williams is still fighting BIG-PHARMA, and has more questions about the CHEM-TRAILS conspiracy. Maggie, John, Bernice, Willy, Kevin, Veronica, Jerry and Mary are all around to help, and a surprise family member shows up to add more twists. I love the books in this series, that make you stop and think. Mr. Thornhill has a wicked sense of humor that makes the listener laugh out loud. This series makes me want more, I can't wait for the next adventure!!!
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. George Kuch...... what more can I say? He is fabulous!!!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I love Robert Thornhill's books and this one is no exception. They are funny, thought provoking, and the characters are so real that you begin to feel as if you know them personally. The books are also well researched and present facts, figures and myths in a very entertaining way. As always I will be waiting, and looking forward to, his next Lady Justice adventure!
Another great Walt Williams book!! All the wonderful characters in this book really make it so much fun to read! The book will make you laugh and do a lot of thinking . Thank you Robert Thornhill for a another great book that I couldn't put down!!!
In this new offering by Robert Thornhill, Lady Justice takes on several adversaries: a crazed clown who is tracking down former classmates, an assassin who is trying to kill holistic doctors, and a secret agent who want out of “the business” and is being pursued by covert hit-men since there is no such thing as retirement for governmental spies—all happening in the Midwest locale of Kansas City, MO. Walt Williams, with his usual group of cronies, figures out that the seemingly random deaths of his sister-in-law’s friends from Westport High School, are not as disconnected as they would seem. Using the high school reunion for the group as bait, they set up a sting operation that almost goes awry, but is saved by the help of the Veronica’s mother, the spy on the run. Once that case is solved, Walt and gang can turn their attentions to discovering the assassin and saving the spy. Deciding to use his information gathered on the problem of our government’s deliberate use of chemicals which are harming the earth and poisoning the population, Walt attempts to broker a deal to stop the assassin and to allow the spy to retire, by threatening to blow the whistle via Wikileaks on the pharmaceutical industry’s nefarious connection to governmental spy agencies. When Wikileaks decides this is too hot an issue even for them, Walt is left to his resources to tie up the loose ends in another way. The conclusion of the story lines save the doctor and the spy. However, the problem of governmental interference in our environment and the connections to Big Pharma still exist. The reader is given numerous reference sites used by Thornhill and encourages everyone to research this potential problem for our country and make up their own mind as to whether this is a real problem for us. This book has the trademark jokes, tight fixes, and the reassurance that Lady Justice keeps on fighting for the American Way…sometimes succeeding, sometimes still trying to succeed, but never quitting. A quick, entertaining read.

“Lady Justice and the Spy” by Robert Thornhill is, not surprisingly, another excellent addition to the author’s “Lady Justice” series of Comedy/Mystery tales. As events and circumstances converge on our favorite Senior Sleuth, Walt Williams, and his friends, we find ourselves once more in the thick of the action. We get to tag along as Walt and his cadre of cronies follow a convoluted trail of clues.
From Killer Clowns to Rogue Assassins who don’t exist (wink, wink), our intrepid investigators are up to the task, as they match wits with criminal elements who always seem to have one more trick up their sleeves. Fortunately for Lady Justice, Walt still has a few tricks up his sleeve, too.
“Lady Justice and the Spy” takes on a couple social issues which should be of concern to everybody on the planet. Beginning with a vengeful nerd nursing a 20-year grudge from high school, the story transitions smoothly to the planned termination of a government assassin who doesn’t really exist.
Along the way we are privy to a wide range of ancillary information which may or may not be factual. Thornhill does not attempt to sway your opinion; he merely suggests you do your own research, and draw your own conclusions. From a global weather conspiracy to a major industry’s inconceivably avaricious plan to assure a perpetual consumer base, Lady Justice takes on almost more than she can handle in this episode.
I urge readers who may not be familiar with the “Lady Justice” series to grab a copy of “Lady Justice and the Spy”, and prepare to enjoy an engaging story. Established “Lady Justice” fans won’t require further urging!
A hardened spy who qualifies for AARP is hiding out at the Three Trails. A psychotic clown is preying on women around the country. A woman who seldom gave her birthmother a second thought is about to come face to face with the shock of a lifetime. Add to that murderous, conspiratorial secrets hidden in a basic office safe and you’ve got another Lady Justice mystery sure to keep your heart pumping.
Once again, Robert Thornhill takes us into the dark side with another Lady Justice thriller. And while he gives you the stuff of nightmares, he’ll have you laughing until you cry. To Robert, I only have one piece of advice: if you’re going to keep hiding secrets, it’s time to upgrade that safe!
I love this series and whenever I find a new addition to it I am delighted to spend some time with Walt and the gang. This book is connected to Lady Justice and the Conspiracy Trail. You dont have to read it first for this one to make sense, so read them both, beside the entertainment factor you will also learn some new things about the environment. Mr. Thornhill does a super job of taking sensitive subjects and shining a light on them. I'm a big fan.
The 150 Prompt Doctor Who Reading Challenge - Fourth Doctor - 1) Would You Care For A Jelly Baby?: Read a book with charm and eccentricity or a book with a quirky or eccentric protagonist.
A story where Walt and friends try to take on "Big Pharma" and tie back to the chem trail novels earlier in the series. I do like how quirky and lovely Walt and friends are, but this novel spent so much time trying to big up holistic doctors, attack "Big Pharma" for not wanting to cure cancer and support the general anti vax propaganda, which I don't personally want to support.
Sarah Savage (63, aka Nightshade, former CIA op.) was watching room # 211. Cathy Carter (38, client) came to see Walt Williams (husband, PI, narrator). Walt introduced her to Kevin (78, PI partner), & Veronica (38, Kevin’s wife, escort service) & Maggie Williams (72, Walt’s wife, Kevin’s sister, real estate agent). Cathy & Veronica’s Westport HS class of 1997 (Tigers), 20th. class reunion is coming up. Cathy has to find the classmates & send them invitations.
3 of the classmates have been murdered in the last month. They lived in Seattle, Nashville & Miami. Ox (Walt’s KCPD partner) is going to help out. Jane Hudson (Seattle, WA., investment broker), strangled, Marcia Withers (Nashville, TN., Grand Ole Opry business office), stabbed in the back & Louise Nettles (Miami, FL. Real estate agent), bludgeoned with a heavy metal object. Hobie Darling performed as Clarence the Magical Clown.
It seems he was becoming quite popular. He was now at the American Royal World Series of BBQ (Kansas Speedway). Will the serial killer get caught & brought to justice? Dale Fox (chemtrail pilot) had contacted Jack Carson (Kansas City Star reporter). Dale had something very important for him, but he was murdered. A Professor Louise Shipley at the Monsanto Corporation who was about to blow the whistle on someone was also whacked. Jack had contacted Ox & Walt. Jack had mysteriously disappeared. What was so important at Pinal Air Base in Marana, AZ, & the HAARP antenna in Gakona, AL? Kristen Meghan (AF Bio-engineer) was also threatened. Frank Katz (U of Missouri Professor) wrote a very valuable manuscript but he had died before it was published. Dr. Edgar Pearson (MD, holistic physician) had contacted Ox & Walt about Dr. Martin Mitchell’s research comparison study on Putnam Pharmaceuticals Roloto medication for high cholesterol. Dr. Mitchell, Violet Jenkins (Martin’s secretary) & Dr. James Jeffrey Bradstreet were all murdered. 12 other Dr.’s had met their death also. A total of 60 for the yr. Big Pharma was the # 1 suspect& the drug Vioxx. Maybe Arnie Goldblume & Nicholas Thatcher Watchers founders could help solve these bizarre murder mysteries.
Will the murder mysteries get solved & someone or something brought to justice? Wow, I partied a lot in Westport. I told my urologist in 2017, January about the Cialis commercial, if I had a Woodie for 4 hr’s. I’m damn sure not gonna call you. He had never seen it. He busted out laughing.
Warning: This book is for adults only & contains violent or graphic adult content. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written who-dun-it murder mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great who-dun-it murder mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

I have been a fan of Robert Thornhill for quite some time now and I am never disappointed in his Lady Justice books, so I was really happy when I got this book as a free download. The storyline had plenty of action and moved along at a good pace and ended up dealing with a murder and a conspiracy theory that also has ties to what goes on in the real world right now and lets not forget a Spy and Assassins. Never a dull moment and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
( Format : Audiobook ) "This is way out of our league." All of Robert Thornhill's Lady Justice books are crammed with combinations of independent characters, comedy, crime, well researched conspiracy theories, action, adventure and sometimes, as in Lady Justice and the Spy, all of the above. And, on yes there's a spy, too, a woman, codenamed Nightshade who, after decades in a covert branch of the CIA, wants to retire and track down the daughter she gave up at birth. From homicidal clowns, through murdered doctors researching a better way to heal cancer, through to the threat to the world from chemtrails in the sky, the seventy something P.I. and his pals are kept busy and creative throughout. Never a dull moment. Always thought provoking yet humorous, this series continues to be one of the most engaging on the market. Start anywhere - they are all stand alone. And brilliant. Thanks again, Mr.Thornhill, for another great story, and also to George Kuch, the excellent narrator interpreter of Walt Williams, realtor, ex cop and now private eye.
This is another cleverly crafted plot with mystery and humour that I really enjoyed. The plot is intricate mini stories that are all woven together and connected to a fun bunch of friends. I like the mystery but it is the group of characters that make this series what it is. Walt's brother-in-law Kevin's new wife is planning her school reunion but her friend brings some disturbing news to her attention and they in turn bring it to Walt. A high number of girls have died from there year group but as the death have been all over the country nobody has looked into them, until now. With a killer on the loose they still go ahead with the reunion, the party gets two gate crashes that will change lives for ever. Soon after that eventful night Walt is approach by a holistic physician who is in fear for his life. Is Walt finally ready to take on the big drug companies or even his own government over the chemicals being sprayed in the air? Maybe he has finally found the one person brave and skilled enough to try. George Kuch never puts in a bad performance as Walt and his friends.
Robert Thornhill keeps getting better and better with each subsequent book. I love his writing style of combining current issues and other stories into one book that are cleverly tied together. The humor, the mystery, the clowns, the characters are all so well done. I also love how he brings glimpses of previous books into the story as well as favorite characters. George Kuch continues to perform this series flawlessly. He adds so much humor with how he says things. I love the imagery in the book as well. I don't like giving away spoilers in my reviews, but this one has a spectacular ending. I loved the tie in to conspiracy theories as well. Many things in this book gives one reason to pause and think about them. Is Lady Justice blindfolded as well as handcuffed?
Lady Justice and the Spy is my twenty-fifth enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns, one-liners and references to books & songs including the narrator singing. Throughout the book I found myself smiling a lot & at times laughing out loud. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Cat. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I'm just lazy enough to let the author do all the research, put it together in a book in a series I adore, and then verify his research. It all checks out. Most important, however, is the fun and hijinks in the stories and the characters that populate each of them. This one delves into some of the shady dealings of a big pharmaceutical company, surprising aspects of one character's background, and lots more, but the Dad Jokes and other humor are as much fun as ever! I need the audio and it really helps that I can listen to George Kuch at the speed I need at that time.
There were many things going on in this episode. We were reminded of the government's control over human contamination for the sake of national security. We also were reminded how aluminum which is found in items used and consumed could be a factor in diseases such as Alzheimer's and Autism. We also learned of Veronica's parentage. This was an all around good read.
There is plenty of action in this edition of Lady Justice series. Walt and crew solve murders, meet a bonafide spy, stop an assassin, meet a lost family member, and dig into a conspiracy that can have major repercussions. Fantastic humorous mystery guaranteed to be entertaining! The narrator did a fantastic job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review!
Whether there is truth behind it or just a fiction, I am glad that this book covers two serious topics not enough people today are concerned about: chemtrails and Big Pharma “conspiracies,” that is effects on our lives. In his Lady Justice and the Spy mystery novel, Robert Thornhill made it all sound so real. Is it because of his convincing storytelling or the latest events in our world? Decide for yourself.
How does Robert Thornhill do it over and over again and keep you so interested. I don't know how to answer that but he does and I for one am so grateful. This audio book finds Walt and his crew in the mists of a crazy clown and throwing a high school reunion. I know!! You have to read it to get it but it is so worth it :-) Once again George Kuch does the best job of narrating too.
This one is action packed from the beginning! We have a new character in this great group already and I couldn’t be happier with who it was. The background story is fantastic and the subject this book covers definitely get you thinking about certain things. I just can’t get enough of Walt and his friends.
The saga continues about chem trails. Now that the killer clown is dead and Veronica’s mother has been retired what is next? Will chem trails finally be brought to their knees? Will big pharma be exposed? I can’t wait to see what will happen next.
