As far as a love story goes, this was a good book. However, I just really couldn’t get over the fact that the men were confederate soldiers and they, and the female MC, sympathized with the the confederate agenda. Mainly, they were cool with and didn’t want to end slavery. And that just didn’t sit right with me. While slavery was only mentioned once in the whole book it just all seemed pretty strange to read.
