Across the centuries, humanity's capacity for violence has marked time as surely as the movement of the stars. And from those very stars have come an invisible participant in our history, the extraterrestrial Predator, who has used mankind's own penchant for murder and mayhem as a shadow to cover its own bloody tracks. But the Predator has not passed through the ages unnoticed, and despite the alien killer's strength, cunning, and advanced technology, there are few things more certain than how far men are willing to go when it's time for a little payback! Predator Omnibus Volume 4 concludes the complete presentation of these never-before-collected classic Dark Horse Predator tales, presenting over three hundred thrilling story pages in a high-quality, value-priced format and featuring work by top comics creators.
Yes, I have a lot of books, and if this is your first visit to my amazon author page, it can be a little overwhelming. If you are new to my work, let me recommend a few titles as good places to start. I love my Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. series, humorous horror/mysteries, which begin with DEATH WARMED OVER. My steampunk fantasy adventures, CLOCKWORK ANGELS and CLOCKWORK LIVES, written with Neil Peart, legendary drummer from Rush, are two of my very favorite novels ever. And my magnum opus, the science fiction epic The Saga of Seven Suns, begins with HIDDEN EMPIRE. After you've tried those, I hope you'll check out some of my other series.
I have written spin-off novels for Star Wars, StarCraft, Titan A.E., and The X-Files, and I'm the co-author of the Dune prequels. My original works include the Saga of Seven Suns series and the Nebula Award-nominated Assemblers of Infinity. I have also written several comic books including the Dark Horse Star Wars collection Tales of the Jedi written in collaboration with Tom Veitch, Predator titles (also for Dark Horse), and X-Files titles for Topps.
I serve as a judge in the Writers of the Future contest.
My wife is author Rebecca Moesta. We currently reside near Monument, Colorado.
If all you have ever know about the Predator storyline is the movies then read this. There is so much more to discover about the alien species. Fantastic storyline and characters. Highly recommended
The three stars are for the Civil War-era one written by Ann Nocenti. The rest are varying degrees of mid. I think the biggest problem with the Predator comics is that unlike the Aliens comics, they have almost no lore to work with. The only variants here are the time period and location in which the Predator shows up. It gets old fast, especially because the art and writing have never been stellar at any point.
This may have been my favorite of all the Predator Omnibus volumes. Before Dark Horse came along movie tie in comics were usually total money grabs with very subpar work, but their Aliens and Predator material really showed movie comics could be done right. If you're a Predator fan you really should check out some of the Dark Horse comics.
An excellent compilation. Mostly shorter stories, but very good ones, including one that is gruesomely funny. And the very last one shows a Predator squaring off against some of the most evil men of all time. I know who I was rooting for....
Review is for all four Omnibus Volumes read consecutively
Like most such collections it shows it's age with several outmoded art styles, but the tales themselves, particularly the short form work, is quite enjoyable.
Surprisingly a really great collection of stories. Hell come a walkin’ and Nemesis are really great comic book stories. If you only read one Predator omnibus, this is the one to read.
Really disappointing that we don't find out the fate of Dutch. This is just a lot of lore, which is nice but they started a story arc and left it unfinished. Also, there isn't much info on the Predators themselves. There's nothing about where they come from but a lot of our history is intertwined with theirs since they insert themselves. Quite expensive volumes considering the content.
