The Lost Ways, details the many ways of survival proven effective by your ancestors.
Each chapter addresses a different, specific survival needed that is critical in taking care of yourself and your family during a natural or man-made crisis.
Keep in mind that it’s a 350 page book so it’s difficult to list every topic it covers here, but this should help give you a good idea:
• Water: Learn how to safely and effectively collect and preserve water to keep yourself prepared in the event of a drought or any other environmental crisis.
• Food: Learn how to prepare nutritionally dense super foods that can last for years without refrigeration.
• Cooking: Learn to build traditional smokehouses and how to smoke fish and other meats. You will also be taught how to make beer, other alcohol, and survival bark bread.
• Hunting: Learn how to make animal traps and hunt your prey, year round.
• Housing: Learn how our ancestors built large, sturdy underground houses that could accomodate up to five families.
• Poultices: Learn how to use medicinal herbs to make pastes that can heal wounds and get rid of nasty infections. And much more.

The wide array of old ways presented in this book, though by no means exhaustive, is fairly thorough and definitely invaluable. I took a chance on this book and was not disappointed. I can't complain about the included subject matter, but I just wish there was more. The book does not bore, and actually made me hunger for more info. Further, I found the historical descriptions interesting. From catching and foraging for food, to making soap, the book touches on many aspects of life that we take for granted in modern society.
The Lost Ways - reveals espionage techniques that can be applied to everyday situations for personal safety and survival. The book provides practical tips on evasion, self-defense, and security, drawing on spy tactics to help readers protect themselves and their loved ones in dangerous scenarios.
Good practical information. More than scratches the surface on food related items, less in-depth on some other subjects. Very helpful recipes for meals, soap and some other items. I liked that the book includes how to make snowshoes. There at no blueprints for the building projects, just sketches, since each project relies on what you have on hand.
A great book along the lines of the Foxfire series with fewer feel good stories and more practical how to information. It has great recipes and stuff like how the forefathers made knives or how to construct a water wheel. After North Korea detonates it's EMP satellite this will be an invaluable reference.
I got the package today it has been open, the seal was not sealed properly and my invoice was not in the package all of my information is somewhere to be stolen. Very poor company, I will never order anything from them. Now I have to worry about my ID being used.
this is the coolest book! I'm from the Nevada desert but live in the south east now. there is so much useful info and cool history and stories in this book. this book would be a great gift to so many of my family members. we are all our grandparents. the hunter, the gathering, the self sustained. the knowledge of living off the land is such a lost way that needs to be brought back. every year I learn more and this book is essential!
