Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf return in an all-new Disney "Frozen" holiday special set to air on ABC in November. This Little Golden Book retells Olaf's holiday story with beautiful, vintage-like illustrations. Full color.
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure takes the holiday‑themed short film and distills it into a compact, visually driven picture book. The tone is warm and festive, and the narrative stays focused on Olaf’s quest to find holiday traditions for Anna and Elsa. The structure is straightforward: problem, journey, mishaps, and a gentle resolution that emphasizes togetherness over spectacle.
It’s a smooth read. The text is concise, the pacing is even, and the illustrations carry much of the emotional weight with bright, detailed scenes that mirror the film’s cozy winter aesthetic. It doesn’t attempt to replicate the musical energy of the short, but it captures the sentiment well enough that the story still feels complete on the page.
It’s not as emotionally layered as the main Frozen stories, but as a seasonal tie‑in, it succeeds by keeping the mood light, warm, and celebratory.
Overall, the book is festive, friendly, and a pleasant holiday read‑aloud.

5 stars for the artwork - Joey Chou is amazing! 2 stars for the story.
Obviously this is based on the short cartoon of the same name, but it just didn’t have the same charm. The beauty of the short was that it was about different family traditions, but the book barely included any.
As a Jewish Disney fan, I’ll admit I bought the book hoping it might contain a mention of the family that lit a menorah and spun dreidels as their holiday tradition, but that family wasn’t included at all. (They were only in the short for a second, but one can hope... ;)). Also, the kittens in pajamas are on the cover but not included in the actual book. Whyyyy?
I’m not usually a huge fan of books based on movies/cartoons, but this one wasn’t too bad. A cute story with the themes of tradition and family at the holidays. My kids enjoyed the familiar characters and I’m sure many others would as well.
Love the Artwork! I in general love Frozen so no surprise that I love this book! My god daughter loves it too and I couldn't ask for anything better. Story is exactly the same is the animated version, but nothing beats a book with amazing art to look at while reading bedtime stories!
The Little Golden Books are darling. This one had a wonderful modern style of art. This Holiday story follows Olaf as he travels the village to see what everyone does for their festivities during Christmas. The surprise ending was charming. Enjoy.
This is an adorable holiday story about Olaf that follows the cartoon. It's a fun read with easy to understand text. The illustrations are colorful and fit the story perfectly. My daughter loves Frozen, and thought this was such a fun read.
The artwork on this one was breathtaking. Will certainly be looking for more illustrations by Joey Chou. The book was an easy read-out-loud book. It was just like the short from beginning to end, but maybe not as much fluff. I would certainly recommend this one to all Disney loving families.
