Bad Boy, Bad Boy.

I am still enjoying the overall story but it has definitely stepped up. I read the book over one and half sittings. Could not put the book down. The intrigue surrounding Tessa definitely ratcheted up the feel of the read. I would have liked more around Kristian and Tessa because they work. The typos from book one has lessen so that this was a leisurely read. Now onto book three....
Recommendation: read the book you may just like it. Tex.

The Witches' Prophecy - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Veronica, (Kristian's vampire sister) and her vampire lover Morgan are only too aware that the Calder Witch coven's attacks on her family are all her fault, in this second in this seriously scary Calder Witch series, by the wonderful Martha Woods.

As warning of another attack is given by Ally, the family's senior member, Veronica and Morgan agree with the others (including Tessa, whom though mortal has earned her way into the extended family, by beheading one of the witches attacking them on a previous occasion), that divide and conquer should be applied to
themselves, as there will thus be more targets to thin out the attackers. Kris and Tessa decide to remain at the house, while Ally and others split into groups too.
Veronica, Morgan and (young, female-bodied), demon Charley go to Morgan's safe house and there the two women meet Diane and Calla, the former of whom insists she's Tessa's great-aunt. When the confused Veronica takes them to Tessa and Kris, it soon becomes apparent they're enemy Calder Witches and not the peaceful Firehaven Witch coven members they pretended to be and their aim is to slaughter Tessa for her blood and body parts! Seemingly she's the only living relative of their late High Priestess and as such will greatly enhance the evil Calder coven's spells! Can Tessa be saved and who will not survive the deadly attack?

Another sudden ending to a rather brief chapter in the series, but for all that, well-written and the plot, like the action races along at break-neck speed! Definitely this
story will keep you up all night, listening for the cackle of evil or the swish of a nearby broomstick. Luckily Tessa has her psychic powers to know when danger's near

[Also Note: These books appear under diffent titles AND Series! And, yes, same review as it applies to the 1st two books!]

Aspires to a cross between Charlaine Harris and Laurell K Hamilton; achieving neither.

I bought a bunch of these on a whim and at an alleged bargain - I am utterly out of 'real books,' and my collection is in storage.

I wasn't expecting a great deal ... and got it.

The books ARE fun, an hour's diversion, and DO contain some genuinely good ideas. Tessa and her 'mysterious power;' Veronica's transformation/growth between books 1 and 2; etc. BUT these books absolutely BEG for some competent editing, or honest beta-readers. Appalling grammar, sentences that invert character references from the previous sentences, (I CAN provide examples,) are beyond distracting.

Unclear plot points:
the phone call regarding the 2nd attack by the witches SEEMS to refer to the beach house, but APPARENTLY refers to the New York apartment (?)

Bizarre, inexplicable leaps, or lags, between scenes:
Morgan and Veronica preparing to return to the Family with 'answers' in tow; a knock-down, drag-out fight between Veronica and Abby that has zero preamble, and makes you wonder if there were missing pages ...

Frenetic pacing at the expense of build-up, plot, and character development.

One star for potential and interesting ideas, and a truly unfortunate case of poor execution that, I fear, will mar all of these books. I hope I'm wrong ...

Wow another good no great book. After the first book I had to read the second one. And as I thought in the end was another cliffhanger but I love it. I love cliffhangers because they make you want to find out what happens. And to find out you just have to continue to read the next book.

In this one it was more about Veronica and Morgan. Don't worry it also has Tessa and Kristian in it too. But this one was more about Veronica finding out that she made a mistake when she left Morgan (which we knew from the first book). The only thing that made me mad in the book was the Deidre had tricked her way to getting to Tessa. I would have killed that you know what too. I hate to spoil any book that someone hasn't read so I am just putting my thoughts in here. I thought this book was equally as good as the first if not better because as we all know with sequels they are either better, equally as good, or worse than the first. It is like that with movies and books. But as I said it was another great read and it is worth it. I also gave this book another 5 stars because of my fav. the vampires. I just hope that by the time I am finished reading this series that Tessa agrees to becoming a Vampire like her lover is.

Things are getting wild and crazy

Veronica and Morgan, Tessa and Kristian decided to split up thinking that it would be better for them to stay ahead of the Calder witches. But while Veronica and Morgan were at his house Tessa called to let them know that the beach house was gone. The Calder witches found them and Kristian was hurt but he was going to be ok.

The Calder witches found Morgan and Veronica at a bar and barely escaped so they ran to the nearest safe house that he knew of. However, two witches found them there and told them that they were not Calder witches but Firehaven witches and they were looking for Tessa.

When Veronica and Morgan brought them home they found out differently. Calla was a Firehaven witch but Deidre was a Calder witch and she tried to kill Tessa. Tessa was part Calder and part Firehaven. She was also part of the witches prophecy and had to be protected at all costs. Calla had to prove that she was not a threat to Tessa but Kristian doesn't by it so she made a blood oath with Tessa to protect and serve her in order to save her life. What will become of all this? I love this book and all the craziness that goes on. I can't wait to read the next book.

Bad Boy, Bad Boy.

I am still enjoying the overall story and it has definitely stepped up from Kiss Of A Vampire. The Witches Prophecy is a page turner. I read the book over one and half sittings. I just could not put the book down. Although, I would have liked more interaction between Kristian and Tessa because they work. The intrigue surrounding Tessa has definitely ratcheted up the atmosphere of the read. Now there is a feeling of trepidation and mystery throughout the book. I want to say a bit about the author. Martha Woods must read and value the reviews about her books and take action that is only appropriate which is immeasurable. The typos seen from book one have diminished. This read was a pull, a nice leisurely read, with no pushing necessary. The only complaint, I couldn’t get enough. Onto Book Three, Clash Of The Covens.
Recommendation: Read The Witches Prophecy, Book 2 of 3. Tex.

Have to...

Have to keep reading! Things are really heating up between the Calder witches and the coven...but now they are after Tessa, and no one knows why!
Lots of action, suspense, and excitement in this one. A lot of new twists too. Veronica and Morgan are the main players, but all the original characters have their parts in the story.
On to book 3 "Clash of the Covens."

A twitchy good read!

This book is the second in the series, it is fast paced, full of twist. The characters are growing and evolving. Only problem I had was it ended, so fair warning it leaves you hanging!

Interesting

The plot is very good but the abrupt ending to each book in the middle of the story takes a great deal away. Not sure I even like some of the main characters.

This book is even better than the first book with loads more action. I really see these books taking off into a good series. As well as the Vampires and Witches a Demon also plays quite a big part in this story giving it even more depth. Following the fight at Kristian's beach house his sister Veronica and her partner Morgan decide to branch off on their own to escape the brutal bloodshed and to explore their own romance. But their getaway doesn't take them out of the action instead it entangles them deeper within the war. I won't tell you any more as I hate when reviewers tell you too much and spoil the story

Strange witch's

The first part of this book was good...it was the second part of the Witches Prophecy. Kristian and Tessa are settled so this story is about his sister Veronica and her boyfriend Morgan. They are still trying to stop the Calder witches. Interesting story. The rest of the book was different stories....those I'd give only one star.

The stories were so real and authentic that I was left craving more of each one.

Then READ these books, they are worth your time. You will not be disappointed. Well maybe because there are no book 2's of each story, lol. Rita
