As one of the most prestigious wedding coordinators in Los Angeles, Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft is known for being classy, elegant, and the orchestrator of many happily-ever-afters.

But in the words of Paige herself: “What a crock of shiitake.”

Known affectionately (or not) as P.I.T.A. to those closest to her, she’s never been one to buy into the whole monogamy thing for herself. Sure, her BFFs are getting picked off by Cupid one by one, but his arrows have nothing on her semiautomatic.

Richard “Dick” Dawson does his best to live up to his name. A long-time frenemy and manwhore extraordinaire, he thrives on pushing limits, pushing up skirts—and pushing every single one of Paige’s buttons. He’s the itch she can’t scratch, and doesn’t want to. Or does she?

What happens when blazing-hot rage turns to crazy, unexplainable lust? Surely not...love? Because that would just be a total P.I.T.A.

P.I.T.A . is a standalone within a series. All books in the L.A. Liaisons series can be read independently of each other and in mixed order. For maximum reading pleasure, the published order is: LICKED, HOOKER, P.I.T.A.

That was how it always was with us—constantly trying to one-up each other, always fighting for dominance. It put things back on comfortable ground.

So this book....*giggles*
Sorry. As I was saying...*wiggles with glee*
Dammit. Back to the subject at hand...*flails with happiness*

I give up! I can't. I just can't talk about this book without a goofy grin on my face. It's impossible. Because this story was EVERYTHING I love about a good rom com; undeniably flawless storytelling, fabulous characters that you want to be your own BFFs, swoony hero, a heroine so sassy it'll make you jealous, enough antagonistic hate/lust to make a cynic swoon, and so many laugh out loud parts that I won't recommend reading in public for fear of judgy side eyes. It was perfect. Perfect I tells ya!!!
You know, this is a perfect example of why I call you Pita.”
“Why? Because I stick up for myself? Because I call people out when they’re assholes? Because I have fucking balls of steel?” One of the bellhops we passed stopped in his tracks at my admission, and stared at me with wide eyes. “What?” I asked. “You wanna see my steel balls? Dawson, put me down so I can show him.”

Paige and Dawson have been frenemies almost as long as they've been friends. The only thing constant between them are their snarky barbs and sarcastic remarks. It doesn't matter that they grew up together or that their parents are friends, Paige can't stand the guy...right?

A successful party turned wedding planner, Paige is the unlikeliest of them all; the kind that doesn't believe in marriage. Her parents show and tell marriage successfully burned the idea of a happy marriage right out of her. Richard "Dick" Dawson has been one constant in her life... a constant pain in the ass that is, but when some seriously comical circumstances put them together, the undeniable sparks between them fly.
Remember when I said Dawson was a breast guy? That wasn’t the whole truth—Dawson was a sex guy, plain and simple, one of those rare men who wanted to worship every single inch of you, and I was more than willing to let him.

Watching two of her girlfriends find relationship bliss doesn't mean that Paige wants it for herself. Especially not with her former best friend turned bane of her existence. So why does the man have to be so blasted sexy, persistent, and damn it all, irresistible?!

Dawson was just....rarrrrrrrr. The man was sex on a stick. He was funny, swoony, and just total perfection. I couldn't get enough of him, especially when he was determined to drive Paige out of her mind with either frustration or lust.
I’d be up for show-and-tell anytime you wish, love, but if you could sit on my cock sometime soon, I’d love to fuck you.”

This book was by far my favorite in the series. I adored every single hilarious page of it. And it was hilarious. Like laugh until you have tears in your eyes hilarious. Not only is it my favorite Brooke Blaine book, but it may easily be my favorite rom com I've read to date. Yeah. It was that good.
I want to be the goddamn reason you can’t wait to wake up in the morning. I want you to be unable to sleep if I’m not there with you at night. And I want to be the only fucking man that you let come near you when you’re moving those hips like you’re having sex on the dance floor.”

If you're looking for a swoony rom com, this is a no-brainer one-click. Seriously.

As for me? I'm off to stalk Brooke instantly for Quinn's book, because that hooker has been teasing me with the what ifs too long. TOO LONG I SAY! And what can I say? Patience has never been a virtue of mine.

A moment in time can change everything.

***4.5 stars***

I absolutely loved P.I.T.A. and read it in one day. This series is bloody amazing and each instalment sucks you in from the very first page. Brooke Blaine writes characters that I really get. The heroines are quirky, strong and independent.

Each book shows a woman who works hard and doesn’t expect handouts. These women have an unbelievably strong bond of friendship with each other. In this instalment, we meet Pita aka Pain In The Ass or Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft…depending on which day of the week it is. But, she’s mostly - Pain In The Ass.

Paige is a wedding planner who doesn’t believe in the sanctity of marriage. Her parents are the most selfish, self-absorbed idiots who do not deserve a daughter like Paige. There is one example of a happy marriage that Paige can’t deny. Gail and Charles are wonderful people who have been her parents next door neighbours for years. In contrast to Paige’s parents, they are a match made in heaven. It was not unusual for Paige to spend more time at their house than her own. It may have had a wee bit to do with their son Dick.

See Paige and Dick were best friends for a lot of years. Throughout the story, we get little glimpses into their lives and see them in their good and bad times. As time moves on their friendship hit rocky ground and looking out for each other changes into avoiding or insulting each other. Both Paige and Dick compete against each other a lot. Their latest competition is to find out who can score the best hook-ups.

Paige’s parents host a party to celebrate their 30 year wedding anniversary in Vegas. At the party, they surprise Paige by telling her…and all the other guests, they’re moving to Paris. With no warning, Paige is unable to stop herself from reacting and feels justified to tell her parents just what she thinks of them. Before she can take things to far, she’s thrown over Dick’s shoulder kicking and screaming. Dick then takes it upon himself to take Paige’s night from nightmare to the best night of their lives.

One too many gold shots leave Paige with a fuzzy memory. If only she could remember...

I cannot rave about this book enough. I know my jumbled thoughts really don’t do it justice. I will say that the characters are originals, the storyline riveting, the sexy times steamy and it left me with a big goofy grin on my face.

There are a bit of back and forth shenanigans between these two that made me laugh. Their little ice cream and Nutella party seemed like fun and definitely left me blushing.

By the end, you can understand where both characters have come from and why they are the way they are. I believed this couple had a future together and Pita may have been convinced that marriage isn’t so bad after all.

I am DESPERATE for Quinn’s story.

Paige is one of the best party planners around and has done many weddings in her line of work. But as much as she loves seeing everything she's planned come together and watch the happy brides walk down the aisle, she has no desire to do that herself. In her mind marriage is nothing more than a business transaction, and no one can dissuade her of that thinking.

Enter Richard "Dirty Dick" Dawson, her one time best friend and now hated frenemy. He's the man Paige can't seem to shake no matter how hard she tries and the one person that can drive her crazy. A stupid mistake now has them forced together when all Paige wants to do is forget he ever existed. At least, that's the lie she tells herself.

Paige and Dick are a couple that will frustrate you in the sweetest way. They constantly fight and bicker but all of their arguments can't hide the bubbling sexual tension that's boiling right under the surface. The two had a pretty long history that you learn most of early on and it makes their story all the more intriguing. What you don't learn until the end just made the ending so much better when you get their whole backstory.

Brooke Blaine perfectly entwined this story full of sexy moments, frustrating sexual tension, and a rom-com so sweet and funny you'll be unable to stop grinning from start to finish. I honestly don't know any other way to describe this book but to say that it was the quintessential romantic comedy. It had the adorable characters you can't help but fall for and the quirky moments that have you laughing along with them.

I am obsessed with this series and group of friends so I can't wait for more from them. Quinn is definitely a captivating character and has me dying for her story so I can finally learn all of her secrets, so I hope we won't have too much longer to wait!

Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft is a gorgeous single 29 yr. old woman living in California. She has fabulous friends & is one of the top wedding coordinators/ party planners in Los Angeles. While Paige plans everyone else's happily-ever-afters, she doesn't really believe in monogamy for herself. She's a pessimist when it comes to love, romance and marriage. She didn't have the best role models with her parents growing up, so she just didn't have faith in lasting relationships & finding something real.

 photo B31BB8EA-62C9-41CF-8CF1-550FD1C147D8_zpsobaacocb.png

Paige attends a family function in Las Vegas & runs into her frenemy Richard Dawson. Paige & Richard's parents are friends & Richard's family lived next door to Paige growing up. They were the best of friends since they were little & then things changed in college and they grew apart. Now they can't be in a room together without always fighting for dominance and trying to one up each other.

Richard is a total manwhore who drives Paige crazy & pushes all her buttons, but he's also drop dead gorgeous. When circumstances put Paige in close quarters with Richard, she has trouble not seriously lusting after him, & wondering if there could be more between them than pent up sexual frustration. Could the boy she once loved still be inside this beautiful arrogant man she finds herself desperately wanting to touch.

-Good God, the man was beautiful.

-There was no denying that if a perfect male specimen lived, Richard Dawson was pretty damn near close.

-I could touch him like this. Freely because I wanted to.

I loved everything about this book! Pure Brooke Blaine gold! I was hooked on this couple and their chemistry & sparring in the last book. In this one Paige shows a more vulnerable side & we learn about their past together. We also find out how crazy Richard has always been about Paige. This book was funny, sexy, & this man was sinfully delicious! Loved this book start to finish! Just fabulous!!!

A delightfully hilarious frienemies to lovers story that had me giggling and blushing all the way through.

Paige Iris Taylor-Ashcroft or Pita and Richard “Dick” Dawson has a long history together. They’re friends growing up and then frenemies until a reckless, goldschläger-laden night in Vegas when Dick and Pita found themselves giving in to the sizzling chemistry between them.

What I love about this book and this series in particular is how heroine-centric it is. This is Paige’s story. We get to know her character and understand why she is the way she is. I love that she’s sexy, snarky, fun and loyal to her friends. She’s the epitome of the poor little rich girl, except that this rich girl is sex positive and does whatever she wants.

Apart from its message of friendship and female empowerment, Brooke Blaine also delivers a solid romance story. The evolution of Dawson and Paige’s relationship from their childhood up to the present is so darn relatable, it could happen to anyone of us. It’s heartfelt and full of “Aww, that’s so cute!” moments. It is also very steaming hot. And hilarious. That dining room scene had me rolling on the floor laughing my ass off.

P.I.T.A. is another fantastic addition to the LA Liaison’s series. A must read for everyone who loves romantic comedies.

This book was so funny and so cute! This one was definitely my favourite one of the series. I just absolutely LOVED it!!

Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft, a.k.a. P.I.T.A. and Richard “Dick” Dawson grew up together as childhood friends. One event caused these two to become frenemies that have continued for many years. Now, Paige is a successful wedding planner, even though a lifelong commitment to one man is something she never plans on doing. Paige prefers variety and of the one-night-only kind. Paige was such a fun and sassy character. I loved the hilarious and crude things that came out of her mouth. It was rather ironic that a wedding planner didn't believe in a forever kind of marriage. However, she believed that because of her parents who have not shown her what true love is really like.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Why?"

"Because you're my girl. Always have been. Always will be."

"Even when we fight all the time?"

Dawson chuckled. "Especially then."

"Even when I call you Dirty Dick?"

"Somehow even then."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Then we have Dawson, the very handsome and charming manwhore who can't come near Paige without pushing her buttons and arguing with her. I freaking LOVED him!!! Seriously he made me swoon like mofo. Something I truly loved about the story, wasn't just how well it was written, but that we are able to see how this friendship developed between Paige and Dawson. He was always there for Paige when she needed him the most growing up. Now, as adults, Dawson irritates Paige to no end, but she also finds him incredibly irresistible and sexy--which he totally was.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"How long have you wanted us to happen?"

Dawson's brows rose. "How long do you think?"

"I asked you first."

"Since the moment I first laid eyes on you, love."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I don't want to give too much of the story away, but I will say it was humourous as hell. I loved it so much! I giggled like a freaking school girl so many times that I lost count. Dawson melted the panties right off of me that he left me wanting so much more. I loved Paige as well. She was so cool and fun that she will definitely leave you wanting her as a friend. Together these two were perfection. I loved the silly and sexy banter between them. The sexual tension was awesome. I loved everything about this book that I could hardly contain my goofy grin after finishing it. I highly recommend this read. I mean seriously....Dawson...'nuff said.

Oh Brooke Blaine, you have done it again!!!! Seriously, there aren’t enough words to describe the magnitude of how much I love your writing and characters. Did I forgot to mention I also adore you? Well I do, so much in fact because not only are you a genuine individual but you have gifted and treated your readers to a romantic comedy that was an absolute gem.

#Pita

P.I.T.A. is the third book of the L.A. Liaison Series and most definitely can be read as a standalone. Trust me when I tell you if you didn’t read the first two books of the series, you most definitely will want too after getting your first Licked of Brooke Blaine’s phenomenal writing. P.I.T.A. is the story of Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft hence the acronym. Paige is a wedding coordinator and you would think she would be madly in love and settled down. Well, while her two friends are happily coupled up, Paige is still that happily single friend that is until her frenemy, Richard “Dick” Dawson reappears back into her life.

Since I don’t want to spoil this book for the readers, I will just say that Paige and Dawson have this intense sexual chemistry that will have you giggling and swooning at the same time. Brooke Blaine does romantic comedy like no other. She allows her readers to enjoy the antics, awkwardness, embarrassing moments and the banter. There is such a natural flow to her writing that nothing in this book felt staged or rushed. Her characters were charismatic and a riot. Honestly, I love everything about this book. It had sweet heartfelt moments that was blended with fun, sexy, and highly entertaining scenes. With her fresh and smart writing, Brooke Blaine will have any romantic comedy fans hooked. P.I.T.A is definitely a top favorite of Jan 2017 reads.

Paige’s story was anything but a ‘pain in the ass’ to read. In fact, this was some “one-sitting reading” right here, folks. I couldn’t put it down and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the entire time. I am a huge fan of this series, but this one takes the cake as my favorite.

Paige is a snarky but successful wedding coordinator who doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage. One look at her parent’s marriage and you’ll understand why. Dick was Paige’s neighbor growing up and they spent a lot of time together while Paige’s parents were busy not being parents. A misunderstanding in college has turned the best friends into enemies and the one-upmanship is off the charts crazy. One night in Vegas after some blackout-inducing shots and Paige finds herself in a bit of a pickle.

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t love about this book. Paige and Dick have been playing a cat and mouse game since the beginning of the series, so I was more than a little curious about their history. Seeing them work out their issues in true “Paige fashion” was both entertaining and comical. Their banter is bitingly hilarious and slightly outrageous, but the sexual tension is smoking hot. Everything was just perfect from the storyline to the dialogue and I ate it all up with a spoon and wish I could ask for seconds.

If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. It’s fun, flirty, sweet, swoony, and hot. There’s only one book left (as far as I know), so now we just need to find out if Quinn really is a ninja spy and my life will be complete.

I've been waiting so long for Paige's story. I loved the two previous books in the L.A. Liaisons series Licked and Hooker. Paige and Richard aka P.I.T.A and Dick have been competing with each other for so long and their history goes way back. They've know one another since they were kids and used to be best friends.

What can I say! I simply loved and enjoyed this story so much. First off I love the girls Paige, Shayne, Ryleigh and Quinn's friendship. They are so honest, supportive and hilarious as hell when they're around each other. So many awkward and laugh out loud scenes.
Paige is a man eater and doesn't hide it. She works as a wedding planner despite her hatred for marriage. Her relationship with her parents are nonexistent but thankfully she has her girls and a strong friendship with Dawson's parents. She's so strong but also very stubborn when it comes to acknowledging and accepting her feelings.
Dawson is also a Womanizer or he used to be. He and Paige fight and compete like crazy but there's so much history and feelings between them. Their chemistry and friendship are fantastic and of the charts. He definitely surprised me and showed his romantic side multiple times. I enjoyed their history and it only strengthened their connection. The flashbacks were great and I couldn't wait to find out the reason for their fallout.

I was entertained from start to finish. The last chapter and epilogue were phenomenal. What an ending and I had to hold back tears. Brooke Blaine has done it again. She's an expert at romantic comedies and P.I.T.A is another hit. Now I'm hoping the mysterious ninja Quinn will get her story to conclude this fantastic series.

Frenemies to Lovers done RIGHT

I LOVE this LA Liaisons series by Brooke Blaine. She is such an amazing writer, and her writing feels effortlessly funny. Nothing about the banter feels forced, it feels real and like it was said out loud by strangers and she just wrote it down really quickly. SO GOOD!

I've loved Paige since book one. She tells it like it is and has always been such a good friend to the rest of the girls in her group. Richard Dawson is someone she's been feuding with for awhile, even if her friends like to say they are meant to be she knows better. Or does she? Their back and forth is so filled with sexual tension it's nearly through the roof, and under all the jabs you can tell they really KNOW each other. I recently read a frenemies to lovers where it honestly felt like the couple TRULY hated each other. It wasn't easy to buy it once they loved each other.

Here it was obvious that under it all, there was attraction, there were feelings, and there was history between the two of them. Their ending felt real and true because you could catch glimpses of the love that was there all along the ride.

Such a good read. A bit of funny, a bit of naughty, and a whole lot of great banter. Highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a quick romantic comedy

Can't wait for the next book to FINALLY get some Quinn answers. FINALLY!!
// edit 8/9/20 ^^ look how excited I was to get Quinn’s book. I played myself 🤣😂🤣😂

We all remember Paige from the previous books. She's the wedding planner in that group of slightly crazy girlfriends. ☺

But she hates everything marriage. Her parents are the number one proof of how horribly married life can be. Paige wants nothing to do with it. And she also just kind of freaked out at her parents 30th anniversary party in Vegas!

Now she's getting drunk with her childhood best friend Dawson - who's been hired as her babysitter by his parents!

They used to be best friends, but something happened in college that hurt Paige pretty badly - but poor Dawson has no idea what that is all about!

He still likes her. He's always more than liked her.

But can former best friends start something serious during a drunk night in Vegas???

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN WiTH PAIGE & DAWSON???
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER???
READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT! ☺

ADORABLE!!

Another incredibly funny and adorable romance in this great series!
I need Hollywood to come and make a TV Show or movies out of these books!
Those girls are just hilarious!

Paige is so cute with her anti-marriage ideas. And poor Dawson just wants to be with her. Ugh, too cute those two. All that banter and fighting and flirting and insulting aka foreplay .... I just loved it!

Of course it's not all funny and adorable. Paige's anti-marriage mind-set doesn't come naturally. Her parents were horrible parents. They didn't care for her at all. She was the poor rich girl who had a nanny and a chef and housekeeper taking care of her. And her neighbors; Dawson's parents. They're the only real family she's ever known.

It will take our two darlings a bit until they - or rather, until Paige gets that Dawson is her forever-ever-after person. That he will never leave her.

description

But we have LOTS of fun watching them fight for their forever-ever-after-Happy!

P.I.T.A. was the most adorable & funny & sexy but also serious lovestory! I so want Hollywood to turn this series into a TV Show!!!
Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Dawson!!! This one is MINE! ☺

I can't wait to read the next story!!!!! It will finally be Quinn's book!
Also...P.S. I'm a mega-huge fan of the book/series on Paige's nightstand ☺☺☺

Talk about a pick-me-up. P.I.T.A. is a wonderful, hilarious standalone addition to Brooke Blaine’s L.A. Liaisons series.

Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft, fondly called Pita by her friends, has always seemed like one of the most interesting, impulsive, and ballsy characters in the series. Okay, so she might be a huge Pain In The Ass sometimes. She’s an independent firecracker with a wicked sense of humor, a foul mouth, confident sexuality, and no filter. Basically, she’s my kind of gal. It’s ironic that she’s a wedding planner who is skeptical about marriage.

Paige has a mysteriously intense lust/hate relationship with her former childhood best friend, Richard James “Dirty Dick” Dawson. Her not-so-affectionate nickname for him comes from the fact that he is an indiscriminate manwhore. We don’t know what started their feud but when things come to a head, their animosity and her stubbornness create some hysterical one-upmanship and a ton of chemistry. I loved Dawson and his patient heart. Paige is a lovable hoot, even though I became borderline frustrated when her outbursts last a bit too long.

Brooke Blaine has a knack for writing delightful stories filled with irreverent humor, romance, and unique characters. P.I.T.A. provides the perfect canvas to show off her rom-com chops. This is a fun read to have on hand when you’re looking for a lighthearted diversion. I’m ready for the next book!

P.I.T.A is the third book in the LA Liaisons series. This is Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft's story aka Pain In The Ass her nickname from Richard "Dirty Dick" Dawson.

When they were kids Paige and Richard were best friends until college something happened that turned them into enemies they cannot meet without throwing insults at each other hence the nicknames.

Something happens between them one drunken night that changes their relationship. I am not going to say what as it was a surprise for me as this was a twist I was not expecting.

This has a lot of lol moments with the four ladies together and the sex between these two is dirty n sticky. The emotional element is with Paige and her horrible cold hearted parents lucky she has Mr and Mrs Dawson.

Richard was a surprise for me I thought he would be a big headed playboy with attitude instead he is a caring, protective, romantic guy with a dirty mouth who has just been biding his time waiting for his chance with Paige.

The epilogue is hilarious I loved what they say to each other.

So far this is my favourite in this series, I cannot wait for Quinn's book she is a mystery.

It's a pretty short and lighthearted read but it covers everything in the perfect amount of time. Just be warned, you are bound to laughing very hard while reading so you may want to dive into this in the privacy of your own home. Otherwise, people may be giving you the stink eye...

With that being said, this is the third book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. I would however, recommend reading the entire series because all of the books are very good -- my favorite being Licked--.

P.I.T.A. (L.A. Liaisons #3) by Brooke Blaine
4.5 stars!!

“How the hell was I going to tell the girls?”

Brooke Blaine knows how to write Rom Com, every single book in this series has had me in stitches, with tears of laughter as well as the warm and fluffies that a good romance generates and P.I.T.A is no different.

P.I.T.A. has many meanings, the most common being Pain in The Ass as our heroine is so loving referred to throughout this book, but P.I.T.A is also her initials…her parents must have had insight as to how Paige would turn out. However, Paige is a lovable heroine, she is forthright, has no filter whatsoever, is liable to alcohol induced black outs but underneath her take no prisoners attitude is a woman who is desperate to be loved…by anyone.

“I completely blame all of you for what happened. If you’d been there, you would’ve been the pussy guard and Dawson would’ve fucked off.”

Paige lives for her friends, to her they are her family. Her parents have never been “hands on,” no emotional commitment from them at all, their presence was never there, they were too busy wrapped up in their own lives to consider the repercussions of their actions. Why they had a child is a mystery to me, but the obvious disappointment in their only child being female was the straw that broke the camel’s back and it is because of this that Paige cherishes her friendships so much.

“…if you have nothing that ties you to your past, how do you know you even belong.”

Her first best friend was the boy next door, Richard Dawson. The Dawson’s had welcomed Paige into their family from the very beginning and her and Richard were as close as close could be, until hormones got involved, misunderstandings happen and then it is all blown to “shiitake” as Paige would say. Now, Paige and Richard or “Richard “Dick” Dawson” as Paige not so affectionately calls him, have this love/hate relationship and it is here that the fun and games begin.

Paige is the third woman in this series to be “picked” off, as we know, she is a wedding planner, which is hilarious in itself as this woman is a total commitment-phobe. Paige is so anti-marriage it is hilarious and to see this woman finally wake up and smell the coffee has hilarious results.

Frenemies my ass!! These two had so much sexual tension and chemistry it crackled off the page. There is a fine line between love and hate and there was a whole lot more loving than hating that I could see going on between these two, but that “hate” relationship gave way to some fantastic dialogue. The sarcastic barbs, the witty banter, the crazy situations that these two often found themselves in resulted in some side splitting moments. Nutella will never be the same again, I spread that shit on my kids toast FFS!

“…sometimes it’s those who protest the loudest who might be hiding a thing or two. Sometimes it’s vulnerability, sometimes it’s baggage, and sometimes it’s fear.”

Richard is a hero to die for, this is a man that has patiently bided his time, knew who he wanted and has had to stand back and let her “run free.” Richard knows he has a mountain to climb, but he has come well equipped with a heart of gold, the patience of a saint and a smirk that will melt even the most stubborn of panties.

“You think I’d waste so much time if I didn’t want to be here? If I didn’t think you felt the same? If I didn’t want to be here…if I didn’t want to be here…”

This is definitely my favourite of this series, it seems with every book, Brooke Blaine hones her craft and delivers. The laughs are there, the swoon is there, the heart stopping, panty melting moments are there, a little angst of course, but all these ingredients delivered a spectacular entrée, main course and of course…dessert. You will need tissues, for those tears of laughter, you may need to close yourself off to avoid weird looks as you snort to high heaven, but most of all, you will feel great after reading this, totally infectious and a great spirit lifter. I cannot wait for Quinn’s book.

P.I.T.A. is a sassy and sexy frenemies-to-lovers story to add to the always delightful L.A. Liaisons series.

Throughout the series, Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft (AKA pain in the ass, P.I.T.A.) has butted heads with Richard “Dirty Dick” Dawson. Their chemistry has always been palpable, with plenty of playful banter and lots of competitive one-upmanship, it was an explosive coupling just waiting to happen, and finally their story is here.

Paige is a total firecracker, full of personal strength, confidence and an abundance of sass. She grew up rich, with cold and dismissive parents who shared a caustic relationship, which (sadly) led to Paige building up her own walls and closing her mind off from the possibilities of love. Though, as a successful wedding planner you just know there must be more to her career choice than just the interest and talent to throw a good party.

The one man that has always been able to get under Paige’s skin is her childhood friend, Dawson. Paige and Dawson grew up next door neighbours and the best of friends, until new feelings developed and communication went awry, leading to years of disconnect between the two. But when a drunken night in Vegas results in a wanted not wanted marriage, Paige and Dawson get thrown together in a situation Paige never expected to encounter in her life.

I love the characters in this series – particularly the strong and empowering women. Paige was a bit too bull-headed in her determination to keep Dawson at arm's length, but that was part of the fun and, as a result, led to plenty of hilarious interactions between the newly married pair. Which leads me to my next point: this series is funny. Like laugh-out-loud funny. I’m a big fan of romance reads that can get me in my romantic feels while also making me snort with laughter, so this was a win-win.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. I love the bonds of friendship Raleigh, Shayne, Paige and Quinn share, and it’s safe to say that I’ve adored all their love interests to date. Although, I could have done with more Paige/Dawson page time – that might be pure greed on my part – I did love the Ace Locke cameo (from the spin-off PresLocke series), and the name dropping of Logan Mitchell (from the fabulous Temptation series) and his brother Cole (from the Exquisite series). Overall, the story had a great pace and the writing was (again) fantastic.

I’m so ridiculously keen for mysterious Quinn’s story, it’s not even funny. Three down, one to go!

This is a great romantic comedy series. And this book was another great edition to this series. It's full of romantic feels and humor--just a whole lot of fun to read!

But... I wanted more of Paige and Dawson as a couple. And I didn't think Dawson's character was fleshed out enough. I can't even remember if he had a job or not - weird.

I was a total L.A. Liaisons virgin when I picked up P.I.T.A. and I gotta say...Brooke Blaine writes romantic comedy like a BOSS! The cherry has been popped my friends, and I will definitely be going back for MORE!

These characters were just SO GREAT together! Paige was just a freaking firecracker and Dawson was the perfect calm to Paige's storm. The sexy and feisty banter was just EVERYTHING in P.I.T.A.

"You thought those marks on your back were bad the first time around. Just you wait,"

"You say that like a threat, love." ... "I see it as a prize from a worthy opponent."

Oh my! And the sexual tension from these two! Whoo! Off the charts SEXY! And there is a deep connection between these two that goes WAY back. It doesn't show itself at first, but as you read through, it just gets more and more obvious that love has always been there. Us girls can relate to Paige in every possible way with the urge to be fully independent. It's refreshing. It's comical. It has a realness that readers cannot deny.

"Damn you for making me fall in love with you."

A friends-to-lovers / enemies-to-lovers romance that you will fall head over heels in love with! It's smart. It's hilarious. It's romantic in every possible way. It's sweet, sexy, and over the top, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A world of yes!!!

I loved everything about P.I.T.A.

Paige is my fave type of book heroine - strong, sassy, mouthy and a heart of gold when it comes to those she loves.

I've wanted to know just what the deal is with her and "Dirty Dick" Dawson, and their frenemy status since book one, and anything I could've imagined or hoped for was absolutely delivered in this book. And then some.

Outside of the fact that the chemistry between Paige and Dawson is down right palpable, sizzling and scorching hot when it bubbles over, this book has so much heart it needs a cardiologist!

It's one of those rare rom-com reads that can have you laughing your butt off one minute, only to be welling up & swallowing a massive lump in your throat the next.

Unabashedly, this book is my favourite in the series to date.

Like all other fans of this series, I can't wait to finally get Quinn's story... I suspect we're in for a surprise.

5+++ Stars!!

How can I break this book down in simple terms? Ummm it's pretty easy.
READ THIS BOOK! Oh my goodness, I've been a fan of this series from day one, and this third installment has surpassed my expectations! You know how some authors decline when they have too many books in a series?
NOT happening here! This book, PITA IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! This is the third book in the L.A. Liaison's series and It's sexy, hilarious, hot, dreamy, sexy, hilarious again! Who doesn't love THAT! I suggest reading Licked and Hooker first, but that's just because I love them, this can totally be read as a standalone, TOTALLY. Just do it!

Paige and Dawson find themselves in a sticky situation. And as much as Paige wants to dissolve this problem she finds that her father has other plans in the form of blackmail. A deal is made and Paige and Dawson get stuck with each other, which should be fun since they want to kill each other. Like seriously, I would hide the kitchen knives around them. This is a story of frenemies to lovers that is delectably witty and decisively smart and in my mind, a great recipe for the PERFECT romcom! Not to mention that Brooke Blaine's writing was absolutely fabulous! It has everything you want and need and every page is filled with goodness! Like seriously every page, there was no skimming!

Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft is a wedding planner who ironically doesn't believe in marriage- go figure. She is also one of the most stubborn, hard headed women EVER, and you definitely don't want to cross her path on a full moon because she will rip you to shreds if she's in a bad mood. She has zero filter and will leave you in pieces if you let her, and it was an absolute treat reading her character because I just wished I could be that badass and get away with it!

Richard (dirty-dick) Dawson, but we'll just call him Dawson- on the other hand is more slick with his moves, more calculated, more Rico Suavé, Whereas Paige has no filter, Dawson knows exactly when to shut up or when to shut Paige up! He obviously loves a good challenge, because that's exactly what he gets when it comes to Paige. And ohhhhh boy is she challenging!

Both Paige and Dawson grew up as children of privilege and next door neighbors, but Paige got the short end of the stick when it came to parents so that's how their friendship begins. Unfortunately something has soured their friendship along the way, and that has contributed to their spitfire attitudes towards one another. Their banter is hilarious with dry humor and quick witted comebacks, and I could not stop laughing! I kept thinking of Paige as a ninja because she was just so fast and quick with her dragon fire!

Paige is so mean to Dawson, and he just sort of brushes it off and gives it right back. I loved the way he handled Paige, because I'm not sure any other man could and I totally loved this dynamic in their relationship! Normally when you read books, it's the guy that's the problem child and you're reading along waiting for HIM to turn around and finally submit to his feelings. Not this time, Paige's nickname isn't PITA just because of her initials. She truly is a pain in the ass, and her and Dawson are so damn funny with their crazy ass version of foreplay!

There's also a perfect healthy dose of side characters who I just ADORE. Paige's best friends Shayne, Ryleigh and Quinn whom you've met if you read the first two books. They are hilarious together, and the book wouldn't be the same without out them--umm hello friendship goals!

This book will definitely be on my top reads this year, without a doubt. I honestly can't say enough about it. I know I emphasized how funny it was, but it was also achingly romantic and there was this one scene that had me reading it over and over again because it was just so perfect that I had tears running down my face while holding my chest. And I don't cry easily while reading a book, damn you Brooke Blaine! I cried happy tears, I cried because I was laughing so hard tears, I cried sex tears, SO MANY types of tears! Everybody needs to read this book, it is honestly the perfect escape from just about anything! Now I just need Quinn's book to make it all perfect with a bow on top! I honestly can't wait for that!

So…I’ve been eagerly waiting for this one. The love/hate relationship between Paige and Richard has been mentioned in the other two books in the L.A. Liaisons series.

Paige and Richard have been frenemies since they were younger. They have just the right amount of chemistry that will have you salivating. Their witty banter and playfulness is absolutely perfect.

Paige is a devout non-relationship type of gal. After seeing her parents in a love-less marriage she has pretty much made it her mission not to be like them. The irony is that she’s a wedding planner…yep, she plans weddings yet doesn’t actually believe in them.

When a twist of fate has her and Richard in a strange albeit hysterical situation she has to confront her fears of relationships.

This book was written as the perfect rom-com. Brooke Blaine has a knack for great storytelling. Her books are so engaging, that they are un-put-downable. The sexiness between Richard and Paige was also pretty scorching, so there’s that as well.

The reason I didn’t rate this one a 5-star read? Well, I just wanted more. More of them as a couple. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it. I think I just wanted more than all the build-up.

If you want to read something short, sweet with a side of sexy this is it!

P.I.T.A. is book 4 in the L.A. Liaisons series and it's definitely my favorite. Like the others in this series it was cute and sexy but I think the history between Paige and Dawson made it better and hotter. I loved the whole Vegas trip and the DVD at the end had me in tears. I'm looking forward to Quinn's story can't wait to finally see what she's up to.

3 “Frenemies” Stars

ARC provided by the author

Thank you!

If you read my review of Hooker, book two in the L.A. Liaisons series, you’ll notice I’d been dying to get my hands on the next book since then. The little we got to see of Paige in that book showed me that she was hilarious and she was so going to fall in love with her frenemy. My body was ready for the hate and love relationship those two would bring me.

Being as excited as I was about P.I.T.A. and having waited almost a year for it, I couldn’t help myself and dove into it the moment the ARC landed on my Kindle.

The third book in the series focused on a group of smart, sexy and independent women has tons of voice, hilarious dialogue and burn-my-Kindle sexual tension.

In case you haven’t read the previous books (a mistake you must remedy sooner rather than later), Paige (a.k.a. PITA) and Dawson (a.k.a. Dick Dawson) go way back. We got to see a little of their banter in the previous books, but this time the hate-and-love relationship is under the spotlight.

In this book, Paige meets Dawson again at her parent’s anniversary party. Thing is, Paige and her parents don’t have the best relationship, and when they deliver shocking news, Paige reacts the only way she knows: by confronting them, appearances be dammed. Seeing how things are quickly turning disastrous, Dawson steps in and takes Paige away, which only makes her angrier at him. It’s obvious to anyone but Paige that Dawson truly cares about her, and that’s why he intervened. It’s also obvious that Paige is trying way too hard to hate him, and that probably means she’s trying to hide feelings much deeper and different.

So, yeah, from the get go, we get to see these two play around their attraction to each other and use sarcasm and teasing as their main weapons. It’s fun and sexy, just like I thought it’d be.

You know what else is fun? Watching Paige interact with her girlfriends. The dynamic between those four women make me want to be one of them. They tease each other in a way only longtime friends can. They don’t care to fit into a mold of what women should do or say. They openly talk about sex and love and everything else. Again, I felt like I was inside Sex & the City, but instead of NYC, we had L.A.

Despite all of those great things about this book, I ended up not enjoying it as much as the first and that’s because I had some reservations about some of the choices made. Choices I thought were not only extremely important to the evolution of the story, but also to how they shaped one of the main characters into someone I’m not sure I liked all that much.

Warning: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Despite my reservations and thoughts on some choices, P.I.T.A. brings a lot of the humor and sass that seem to be trademarks of this series, so fans of Brooke Blaine and the L.A. Liaisons women will still enjoy this book.

***5 “Take on Me” Stars***

~ 2.5 hrs.

That’s how long it took me to devour this baby, and while it may not seem like a big thing, it kinda is since I...um...wasreadingitwhileIwassupposedtobeworking...sshhh don’t tell anyone. But that’s how good it was. I laughed, I swooned, I sniffled, I needed an arctic temp bath and even did a little squee at one point and I fell into full blown adoration with Paige and Dick as they constantly picked at each other while dancing around their true feelings for the other.

I’ve adored Paige aka Pita from the first time she, and her I’m fabulous so don’t f*ck with me attitude, graced the pages of Licked. She has no edit button and isn’t afraid of giving some good tough love to those she calls her own. But that adoration was kicked up a notch at seeing underneath that armour and finding out why she is the way that she is because it showed not only how strong she really is, but also how huge her heart truly is.

I honestly wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Richard ‘Dirty Dick’ Dawson because I’ve been firmly on #TeamPita, but holy hell did I end up adoring the man. He’s all kinds of alpha male panty melting goodness. He’s determined and quite sneaky and yet has that laid back vibe that just makes you want more of him. And his heart, holy hell, does this man have a huge and generous heart that will make you all kinds of twitterpated and swoony.

This friends to frenemies to lovers is all that you could ask for and more. We get glimpses of who they were to each other before becoming frenemies and a whole bunch of crazy as they continue to try to one up each other, but what comes through all of it is that Paige and Dick are perfect for each other. The chemistry between them is explosive and I my love of Nutella has been kicked up exponentially. There were quite a few twists in their very bumpy road that surprised me and I loved how everything worked out between them. The end had me all kinds of sniffly and swoony and that epilogue was perfection!

I adored Licked and Hooker, but P.I.T.A is my absolute fav (and yes I know this may be a premature statement since we do have one more ‘hooker’ who is single, but it is what it is) It brought out all the feels, and I mean ALL ~ from laughter to frustration to needing an extremely cold shower to the sniffles. This one had it all and I loved getting to see who Paige and Dick really were. It was fun hanging out with Ryleigh, Shayne and Quinn as well as our favorite sexy as sin action hero and I swear I fell in love in Dick’s parents as well. And speaking of Quinn, it’s now her turn to fall and finally (I hope) find out just what hell she does and what makes this enigmatic woman tick. So I will do my best to practice patience while waiting for her book (as well as PresLocke #3) to fall into my greedy little hands.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I seriously just finished this book with a huge smile on my face. While it was lighthearted and funny, there was an unexpected but much appreciated depth to the storyline. That sometimes love is right in front of us. Love doesn’t understand circumstance or timing. Love only knows where it belongs.

Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft (P.I.T.A.) is one of the most highly sought out wedding coordinators in all of Los Angeles. It’s too bad that she thinks marriage is a crock and something she will never partake in. Self-proclaimed ladies man, Richard “Dick” Dawson has known Paige since they were kids. They were quite close as where she lacked in family his parents were like her own. He knows he gets under her skin and he pushes harder anyway. They have that kind of hate hate relationship. Ha! No but really!

A night out results in their lives colliding in ways neither saw coming. And Paige is not ready to face the consequences. She is quite dismissive of Dawson, but he never lets up. She is never supposed to fall. This totally derails her plans! There is a push and pull until giving in is inevitable. But what happens when the one thing you’ve spent your life running away from is the one thing that you need the most? This author never recycles the typical storyline, and Paige and Dawson’s story continues this. She absolutely owns rom com as she puts her own spin on this genre with every book released in this series. There is an inherent vulnerability to these characters. They come across as genuine and their story is flawlessly executed in P.I.T.A. Surprisingly touching, yet laugh out loud funny this book was EVERYTHING!

Between the witty dialogue and clever storyline, this was easily a top read for me this year. Brooke Blaine is truly the queen of Rom Com! The author is a master at weaving a funny, sensual, yet passionate and endearing story that hooks you from the very beginning. I laughed. Loudly. I wiped away tears. Her talent of character development is simply unmatched. She writes with an intensity in that the sexual chemistry simply jumps off the pages! Engaging and sexy, I loved everything about this book!

P.I.T.A was simply one of the best romantic comedies I’ve read in such a long time. I am a huge fan of this entire series, but this story was impassioned as it was hilarious and I am still not over it. The author brilliantly balances heart and humor within a romantic comedy that is sure to make you a fan of hers for life.

GAHHHH! SO. MUCH. GOODNESS. *plop*

Seriously, there is so much goodness packed into this little book. Whether you are new to the series or have been on the L.A. Liaisons train since it took off with Licked, there is no way you can read this book without a giant smile on your face. It's happy-making, which is something I needed in my life quite desperately right now and Ms. Blaine delivered in spades.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from Paige and "Dirty Dick" Dawson. I sometimes struggle with enemies to lovers storylines because I don't really like it when the characters are mean to each other -- but that wasn't an issue with this story. There's no meanness in their jabs. In fact, it reads a little like foreplay - which is fitting for these characters and this story. I enjoyed every minute of their heated banter and was kept completely on the hook as it slowly evolved into something real.

Also? Chapter thirteen.

Lick. Suck. Bite. Taste.

Sweet. Jesus. *fans self*

There are all kinds of fun little surprises packed into this book (sexy and otherwise). It's always a treat to catch up with the rest of the L.A. Liasons gang and the friendships are as rewarding as ever. Some of the best moments in these books come from the way these women interact with each other and it's such a heartwarming (and hilarious) delight to read.

All in all - my heart is completely full from that fantastic and true-to-character ending. There were a few tears because - ugh, feels! There was also a sweetness to this story that was sort of a surprise from the lovely but sardonic Paige. It balanced out the raucous humor and steamy sexy times to make this wonderfully written, completely engaging book another FIVE STAR hit for me! ~ Shelly, 5 Stars
