The final book of the DISCIDIUM trilogy prepares for the inevitable showdown between the conniving governess of the Mulieran province, Leda McCready, and the rebels working to usurp her, led by former senator, Elisandra Drake. No one, however, can anticipate the growing threat on the other side of the Discidium wall, as the new governor of the Virsisian province, Pollec Santori, plans for a war that could destory all life on the western side of the continent. But just to the south, in the all-but-forgotten integrated province of Conexus, ex-patriot and smuggler, Grace Armitage, as plans of her own, and with the help of Braedon Walker and Administrator Una Parker, she may just be able to shift the balance of power and change the course of history forever.
Wow, what an explosive ending to a memorable and explosive trilogy! In my experience with many recent sci-fi/dystopican trilogies, the third books are bloated, weighed down in too many dues ex-machina scenarios, and loaded with unnecessary side stories that go nowhere. This relatively slim third book, however, checks all the boxes that a reader would want in a third and final book. I am extremely satisfied with the fitting finish to a trilogy that is flying under the radar and deserves far more recognition. I can't wait to see what Megan Olsen writes next!
