Personal Response I think that Let’s Build a Snowman was a good book, and my little sister loved it. Nora, who is six years old, thought this was an awesome book. Her favorite part of the book was when all the sisters enjoyed hot cocoa at the end of the day. My little sister Luci, who is five, liked the part when the sisters worked together to make one snowman. My favorite part was being able to share this book with my sisters.
Plot The book started with Barbie and her sisters in a cabin. They wanted to make a snowman, but they all had different ideas of what kind of snowman to build. Skipper wanted to make a robot snowman; Stacie wanted to make a soccer snowman; and Barbie wanted to make a Santa snowman. Their sister, Chelsea, thought it was too hard to make one on her own. All the sisters worked together to make one snowman. They ended their day with hot chocolate.
Characterization Barbie She had a great time in the cabin and outside with her sisters. She helped come up with an idea to help her youngest sister who was struggling. Barbie was the oldest and was always willing to help her sisters out, with any problem.
Chelsea Chelsea is the youngest sister. When all three sisters were building snowmen, she struggled. Thanks to her sister, they all worked together on one snowman and did not struggle any more.
Setting This book took place in a cabin and outside of the cabin during winter over the course of one day. The setting was important because if there was no snow, the sisters could not have had the adventure they did.
Theme One main theme in the book was never give up. When working on the snowman all of the sisters wanted to make their own. One sister struggled more than the other two. Then all three sisters worked together and were able to make one big snowman. The sisters did not give up, they worked together, and were able to make a cool snowman.
Recommendation I would recommend this book to girls who are three to seven year olds. They would enjoy the plot of this book, and this is a great book for them to work on reading skills. Girls three to seven should give this book a try.
This had so much potential! Cool, not-quite-traditional snowmen that fit the girls' personalities! Creativity! The opportunity for cooperation - and thus a hodge-podge snowman!
But no, it's haaaaaard to build a snowman, so Barbie suggests they all pitch in and make one snowman - hers.
An early reader for Barbie fans who are just learning to read alone. I was a little annoyed that the final product ended up looking more like Barbie's idea than any of her sisters' ideas, but whatever.
While building a snowman can be a lot of fun, and the sister's each have their own ideas of what they want to build, Chelsea is right - building a snowman is a lot of work. It's a lot more fun, and a lot less work, when you work together to build the best snowman.

Step into reading books are great for early readers. They help to recognize familiar words on sight and sounding out new words. Helps with basic vocabulary- has short sentences with simple stories.
Considering they all wanted to make a different kind of snowman, maybe they could’ve incorporated their different styles into the one they made together but okay.
This book kind of goes along with Barbie perfect Christmas a little. This is a good book for beginner readers. This is also an AR book for anyone who wants to know. I would recommend this book to others.
