Heavy on melodrama, but still pretty entertaining.

Katherine, an editor, and Sandra, a librarian, agree to a threesome with a random they meet at the bar, things get sadistic when the man pulls out his belt and refuses to relent, now he’s got a letter opener in his back and the ladies’ lives are a bit more complicated.

The twists, manipulations, and absurdities make Thrill a worthwhile read. You really do not expect anything that happens in this ridiculous book. I went in thinking that the plot was going to be about two women that go on a killing spree, but it’s more about how their lives begin to deteriorate after killing a man. And more specifically how one of the women is not quite who she pretends to be.

Fun stuff.

Quick read, fast paced.
A cat & mouse game of sorts.
Enjoyable and well worth the $1.50 I paid at the thrift store

This was actually a good little read. I had never heard of Barbara petty, but she writes an intriguing story. This almost reminds me of Single White Female, except it wasn't to that extreme. It was interesting to see the relationship of two women get dangerously on edge and how easily murder can manipulate and change a person. I really felt for Katherine but Sandra had her own problems. Petty can really paint a person's slow descend into insanity. Great book! I'm glad I gave it a chance considering the other reviews.

This was a short murder mystery that had you turning the pages, It was a fast read for me. Its about two middle aged women that work together and are also roommates. Katherine comes from an abusive rich family that she doesnt want anythng to do with and Sandra is divorced from her husband.

Katherine doesnt get the promotion she was hoping for so her and Sandra go out to a local bar to blow off some steam and they encounter a charming guy that talks them into going back to his place. they were all drinking and one thing led to anoher and before they knew it they were in bed together and the guy turned mean and started beating Sandra with a belt, Katherine grabbed a letter opener and attached him to get him off Sandra.

Katherine is horrified of the events that happened while Sandra was sickly turned on by it. Another male falls victim to Sandras sick twisted fantasy. Sandra is starting to feel the heat from the cops as they start to close in.

I gave this a three star because There was no history of the characters that gave us insight into why they are how they are. Like , why doesnt Katherine want anything to do with her family, why is Sandra turned on by this sick twisted fantasy, what happened in her past to make her this way? Some kind of insight or history may have helped better understand the characters.

Poor writing

Not well crafted wording. Mundane plot. Won't recommend to anyone. Will not choose this author again in the near future.
