Fleeing with her brother to Scotland, Jane Delane boards a luxury cruiser in search of their estranged mother. Life is hard enough between nursing her brother back to health and nursing her own broken heart over having to leave behind Amos Hood, werewolf hunter, for her brother's own good- but then it gets a whole lot more complicated when she learns that Amos has, in fact, boarded the ship in search of her. As has the werewolf bent on making Jane like himself. Only his strategy is different this time- this time he intends to woo her in his human form. Surrounded by a passel of suitors and desperate to learn more about the shadowy world living just beneath the glamor of the twenties, Jane finds herself overwhelmed by new faces and old- new loves and old. And through it all, the clock is ticking ever closer to the day the wolf vowed to turn her. But who can she trust to save her?

This book felt less scattered then Wolf Claw and for being entirely set on a ship (my least favorite story AND real life location EVER—it’s just so boring!) it was surprisingly well paced and interesting, though I wanted to shake Jane into next year for her utter stupidity—for someone who’s (supposedly) a genius she makes the dumbest choices all the time! It’s simultaneously fun and aggravating, haha, argh!

I saw from a mile away who the villain’s human form was; it was so dang obvious and he outright TOLD HER he was going to try to woo her and I kept shrieking at Jane for her stupidity in talking to any guy outside of those she already knew—like, gaahhh, come ON, girl, don’t make it so easy for this creep!!! (See why I keep questioning her genuisness?) Also her loving Amos was rather sudden but I could roll with that far better then her entertaining any other guy with the attitude of she’d know if it was the bad guy because reasons. Like what the heck…

Absolutely no one in this book can communicate still though—very annoying because doing so would clear up quite a few things, but hey what do I know, I’m not a genius. Or even part of this book because believe me if I was I would have slapped them all a thousand times over, lol.

Uncle Vincent is the best though; I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a grumpy vampire who secretly loves and protects his “kids” and drinks cocoa because it’s better then blood? He was awesome.

And the jokes aimed at Twilight and The Vampire Diaries? Priceless, I had to work VERY hard to not bust out laughing at those parts because my family was in the same room and that would’ve been awkward, lol.

DEFINITELY seeing the “this was the author’s first book” cracks with this series, but it’s still fun with moments of wisdom to chew on.

4.5 Stars!!!!

Special thanks to the author who gave me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. The author did not pay me for a review and all the thoughts here are my own honest opinion.

This Book, guys, It was great!!! I don't know why, but the idea of Amos Hood running around with silver spoons brings a smile to my face. =)

And chocolate diets guys, the best kind of diet anyone can have!

This book made me laugh at the characters banter. I really liked getting to know more of Thomas in this book. I wish we could've seen more of Amos and his cousin, but this book works so well with them being semi-close.

Jane.... *Shakes head.* You certainly have a way with men. Those were some of my favorite parts though. It is kind of like a love triangle, but so much better written. =)

Vincent, I kinda liked him. You know, somehow he has some heart.

A Small Problem That I Had:

So one of the things I was worried about in this book, was the fact that some vampires and werewolves believed in God, but was unable to enter churches and stuff. I don't really know what I thought about monsters believing in God at first, because well, they are drinking people's blood or eating their flesh, so.... Ummm. And putting that aside for a moment, if they really do believe in God, then shouldn't they be allowed to go to church?

But I got thinking about this more (and I wrote this review after I have read book three so don't judge me) and well, the biggest thing that I feel is being referenced here is peoples sinful nature. People in general are not perfect and sin, and God doesn't like sin and He has to turn His back from our sinful nature, but God loved us so much that He gave us His son Jesus, it is only through His son Jesus that we can be with God. Somehow I feel that this book reflects that.

Content in Book:

1. Violence relating to werewolves and vampires. A little disturbing at some parts but not overly so.

2. Some magic. Nothing really dark.

3. Some kisses. Not too descriptive.

Will I Read The Other Books in the Series???

Yep! I already read it! Wolf Cure is soooo Good!!!!!!! This series is pretty good!!!

Who I Would Recommend This Book To:

Those who had first read the first book Wolf Claw.

Those who want a try with a clean Christian take with werewolves and vampires.

Even though I'm team Edward all the way (please don't hate me for loving Twilight. I also make fun of it. In between wishing I'd had the good fortune of writing a better love story like it...), werewolves are fascinating in their own right. Like how they could be anyone- a wolf in human's clothing.

So be sure to guard your heart, Jane, because the hunter is coming for you...

Wolf Curse, Book 2 in Jes Drew's Howling Twenties trilogy did a good job continuing Jane Delane's perilous plight. This book added some new and enjoyable characters and twists to the tale. I liked the way Drew had Jane interact with the different members of this book's cast. Jane's conflicted romantic inclinations were a fun distraction, the way they were woven in.

Having a large chunk of the story take place on a boat felt a bit confining, but it was necessary to the plot. I liked the constant sense of travel and movement from place to place in Wolf Claw (Book 1).

Even so, this was also a nice build up to the conclusion in Wolf Cure (Book 3). It made me very curious about how this will all be wrapped up. It also seems that we may finally meet Jane's mysterious mother then, too. Recommended.

Okay, so this is my favorite out of all of them (yes, I finished Wolf Cure yesterday. Review to come). I loved the suspense sprinkled throughout because of them not knowing where the wolf was and not knowing WHO he was. Then add to that the fact that they're in a confined space for several days WITH the wolf and yeah, it was amazing.
I felt as though both Jane and Thomas were a bit more real and relatable in this book. They felt more complex and not quite as flat; I was able to feel with them, to some degree, throughout the who story, which is good. I didn't like Amos is this one, he just felt kinda heartless and distant throughout it until the very end when he gets turned, but I think that's just me being picky.
The only issues I found with this story were some minor inconsistencies and typos, none of which I can remember, so they really didn't take away from the story as a whole.
All in all, I enjoyed this book immensely. Definitely one of my favorites now. I am rating it five stars because, in my opinion, it truly was amazing and I am honestly looking forward to reading more books by this author (since I've already finished Wolf Cure).
Keep writing great stories, Jes!

I loved Wolf Curse so much! I loved seeing the world expand even more from book 1. We learn even more about the werewolf and vampire lore of this world, and while some mysteries are answered, we are still left with more questions. Jane has escaped with her injured brother, and they are still looking for their mother, but the werewolf who wants to claim her as his own is still after her, and the werewolf hunter Amos Hood she had to leave behind is also looking for her. This was a great addition to The Howling Twenties Trilogy, and with events of this book, I cannot wait for book 3!

This sequel seamlessly picks up where book one left off. The story continues to heat up with very sheltered Jane finding herself trapped on a ship heading to Scotland surrounded by potential suitors. Of course, her heart belongs to Amos but her lycanthropy connection continues to create problems. I loved the romcom antics and the new characters introduced during the voyage to find someone able to help find a wolf cure. This story is a ton of fun with a shocking surprise at the end. I can’t wait to see how this series concludes!

I really loved this!
Once again, it has all the benefits of enthralling teen fantasy stories like Vampire Diaries or Teen Wolf but without any of the inappropriateness that ruins those shows. I highly recommend!
