She is hunted by a werewolf.
He kills monsters.
And lycanthropy is contagious.

Struggling with her guilt over what she's done to the love of her life and battling the insanity that comes with her lycanthropy, Jane isn't sure she can survive long enough, traveling with the motley group of allied enemies, to make it to her mother and the cure they pray she can give them.

Then things get a whole lot more dangerous when Maple, a rouge faerie and perhaps the one person crazier than Jane herself, joins the group to both help and hinder at her whim. But even as artificial infatuations and overturned secrets strike the band, they learn what must be done to reach the aim they all strive for.

All except the wolf who still hunts Jane, confident she will be his yet even as the prophecy of Jane's second death comes ever closer to unfolding . . .

A clean paranormal romantic adventure perfect for fans of Francesca Riley and Michelle Madow.

In case you're worried you won't enjoy this book, I just want you to know my grandma loved this series. Even after I brode her heart with the cliffhanger in book 2. And even though she still firmly believes Christians can't become vampires or werewolves (she's wrong, of course. My grandpa is obviously half werewolf).

So, yeah, you just need to read this.

Wow, things got mentally dark for Jane in this final book and it was SO well done and written. She definitely goes down a mental spiral and the way she slowly climbs out and reconnects with how much God loves her even if she is a “monster” and her “cure” has already been won? Fantastic, my favorite parts of this book and the series as a whole, like WOW that’s some good, deep stuff!

This series as a whole is definitely using werewolves and vampires as an allegory of sorts (wrong word choice but I don’t have a better one, haha) of our sins turning us into “monsters” yet we’re still worthy of being loved by God and dang is that clear without being preachy here; I’m definitely going to have to see if I can pick out any other kernels of wisdom upon a reread, it was SO well done.

Though if Howling Twenties wasn’t already the best series title I’d seriously suggest Jes retitle it something along the lines of “The Series Where No One Can Ever Communicate” because BOY can no one, and I mean NO ONE, communicate with each other. Soooo many things could have been cleared up with a few words but noooo let’s just keep our mouths shut all the time, that’ll work out sooooo much better! (grrrr) It was so infuriating!

I definitely feel Jes hit her stride here as the mainish characters feel the most real and fleshed out then in the previous two books, though I can’t say I particularly like or connect with any of them still, except with Jane’s mental anguish as I can unfortunately relate to that. Uncle Vincent is still the best though, heehee.

Not the best series in the world (for her earlier works I’ve read so far I definitely like Castaways better) but despite that it delivers fun adventure, a cute romance, high stakes, thoughts and questions to contemplate and chew on, and a unique twist on urban fantasy with a Christian worldview. If any of that sounds good to you then I’d highly recommend this series!

Also, he’s a merman. Just in case that wasn’t clear. 😉

I read this in ONE DAY. I know it isn't that long of a book but, as a slow reader, that just goes to show how much I liked it.
The story itself was intriguing. I'm not a huge fan of faeries and merpeople, but I really thought that they were well done and they were written in a way that intrigued me and didn't sicken me.
I liked Amos much better in this one. I think the fact that he was scratched by Jane really added a new complexity to his character and it also added more conflict that he (and Jane) had to overcome. Jane was still a great character, and I felt that, in this book, I was really able to see her faults and her insecurities, which made her an even more complex and relatable character. I also liked Uncle Vincent and the humor that his character added throughout the whole of the story.

There were, once again, a few minor inconsistencies and typos that really didn't take away from the story too much. I also found that the ending seemed a little rushed. All of a sudden, Jane's not a wolf, then she is, then she's not again, and because it all happened so fast, it seemed a little incomplete. I was also slightly upset that, after going through three whole books with Sheldon chasing Jane, all at once he gives her up in favor of gold. I get the message that that particular scene was conveying, but it seemed slightly rushed and I expected a little bit more conflict with getting rid of Sheldon.

I really liked that faith played a much bigger role in this book as opposed to the others, and that it
added new depths to the story and didn't take anything away from it. It was nice to see Jane finally trying to battle the lies she told herself with Truth and quite an encouragement as well. The faith aspect did seem kind of sudden, since the other two books didn't mention it as much, but it also gave off the appearance that faith was something Jane was struggling with, and that made her seem even more realistic because we all struggle.
Jes, keep writing good fiction and I will most definitely keep reading it!

Review

This book is a lot of things and is a series made for greatness because it has love, goodness, beauty, pain, drama, happiness and most importantly God centered, I've never read Christian fantasy and this one is just oh-so-perfect to a beautiful bow on the wrapped gift that is the Howling Twenties series. The author had a clear cut plan from the very first book which is revealed when book 3 is read because every loose end is tied up perfectly and the answers to the questions from book 1 you didn't think you'd get too.

In this book our MC Jane Delane is now a werewolf and her mind is insane because she's now sharing thoughts with not just one lycanthropy infused mind (that's all I'll say) her life's become a battle and the one person who loved her she turned him and she's pretty sure he hates her and the other one who loved that she hated, she trapped. With only a few options left for her she decides to give up only her inner self wouldn't let her! Psst be on the lookout for a tiny fairy named Maple who's more trouble than not😉

A wonderfully crafted series, the cover is perfect the title is impeccable, the characters are fabulous and inspiring, the writing style is beautiful and the theme is just phenomenal! A series I would NEVER stop recommending about!

Amos is as charming as ever, but there are some new complexities added to this rambunctious quest story. Jane has to deal with a heavy dose of self-loathing during this leg of the journey and seeks truth through her faith. I enjoyed the Christian themes woven through the story and the relatable lessons embraced by the group.

Things wrapped up pretty quickly at the end but I got the answers and resolutions I hoped for. There’s a good mix of silly moments and serious ones which made for a light-hearted and inspirational read. I love Jes Drew’s creative storytelling and look forward to reading more of her books!

Wolf Cure is the third and final book in The Howling Twenties Trilogy. This was a whirlwind read from start to finish as we follow Jane on her journey to save her family and herself. Still looking for her mother and still being chased by a werewolf, Jane has been through a lot, but she continues to power through. We still get some wonderful romantic moments, and lots of action throughout the twists and turns. All in all, this was a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy, and I look forward to any more from this world, like a spinoff!

4.75 Stars!!!

Special thanks to the author who gave me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. The author did not pay me for a review and all the thoughts here are my own honest opinion.

I loved the Christian message in this book, and the characters were fantastic!!!

Favorite quote from book: "You're a merman!" =p with all the times it is written in the book, because, "He is a merman."

Let's just say I love the emotional tension that the main character was experiencing. It was heartbreaking, dramatic, but beautiful, some of the best emotional conflict there is. Wonderful work! I also liked how the author writes about the cure, and incorporates everything with a powerful Christian message without being too preachy (in my mind anyway). This guys, is the kind of stuff I like reading.

All the character arches were done pretty well too, in my mind.

And Maple was just this annoying character you can't help but love. I will always think of her in a proof of glitter. =p

And Dwayne was all too bad himself. *Wiggles eye brows*

All the characters were pretty cool, and I loved who each of them became at the end of the story.

This book had the combination of being funny, intense, serious, and purely wonderful.

I will be completely honest.... I still am not sure about werewolves and vampires and the whole paranormal genre, but this book was great... However, the whole immortal thing, I thought was a little on the stranger side in this book.

Content in Book:

1. Violence relating to werewolves and vampires. A little disturbing at some parts but not overly so.

2. Some magic. Nothing really dark.

3. Some kisses. A little more physical than the other books.

4. Mad fairies. (Some that explode after killing people.... Yikes!)

And The Story Continues?

Yes, please! So there is another series that gets tied in with this series with the character Serena. And with the cliffhanger this books has, I can't wait to read it. =)

Who I Would Recommend This Book To:

Those who had first read the first book Wolf Claw and Wolf Curse.

Those who want a try with a clean Christian take with werewolves and vampires.
