A companion to " From the Frontier to Spindletop," this history of the Lone Star State covers the Mexican Revolution of 1912, the rise of the Ku Klux Klan, and World War II and its aftermath
I found this book while prusing the shelves at Half Price Books and decided it was worth a weekend. TEXAS: From Spindletop Through World War II is really a colection of short stories with hundreds of pictures that documents the early 20th century of Texas politics and culture. If you are looking for a complete history during this period in Texas, this probably isn't the book for you, but it does have interesting tales and a lot of information that I didn't know about prior to reading (and I am a native Texan). I gave the book three stars because it really needed to have more information and I felt that it didn't flow to well (there are many breaks and the captions to the photos are way to long... sometimes they have nothing to do with the story at hand). However, it should really be three and a half stars because this is an interesting book.
