I saw this in the (surprisingly large) metaphysical section in a Barnes & Noble and thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, it proved to be mostly a disappointment,.
The book is peppered with small errors—nothing major, but enough to let you know that the authors don’t really understand their subject and are instead merely regurgitating material from other sources. Examples include a confusion between the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden; a misidentification of the Horned God of Druidism with the Greco-Roman Pan; the claim that Catholics are divided over whether Hell contains literal, physical fire; and the conflation of agnosticism and deism.
In the same chapter, we are assured that devil worship is as old as the concept of an evil deity, that Satanism is rampant in the Bible (it isn’t) and that Satanism was a creation of the Catholic Church, three claims which contradict each other. Another chapter lists the Iron Maiden as a torture device used by the Inquisition against witches, not realizing that the Iron Maiden itself is a 19th century fiction that never actually existed outside of hoax museum pieces.
Aside from these errors, the book is poorly written, and reads like a college term paper by a keen, but inexperienced student. There is constant repetition and padding in an apparent effort to inflate the book’s word count.
I won't give it one star, because to be fair, there is a lot of information presented and it's clear that a lot of research, albeit superficial, went into this volume. But the information is mostly disorganized and uncollated, with completely unrelated facts sometimes appearing in the same sentence.
A lengthy chapter dealing with UFOs, Conspiracy Theories, Urban Legends and Creepypasta (all related to the book's subject in only the most tangential way) reveals where the authors' true interests and expertise lie. I wish I had bothered to read the author bios before purchasing. Had I realized that the writers were regular guests on the History Channel’s Ancient Aliens rather than serious philologists or occultists, I would not have purchased it.

Pretty much everything I had to deal with even before buying this book and reading it... I kept dealing with metaphysics and did some shamanic experiences and I kept getting the great spiritual breakthroughs which I thought was righteous but I learned the hard way all these alien beings on DMT and Ayahuasca are all of Hell, every single one of them. They are all demons in disguise trying to razzle and dazzle you in these different states of consciousness for your to surrender your soul to them... All these Pagan Gods like Enki, Ra, Horus, Brahma, Kanesha, Alien beings , Earth Energies all bow dow to Satan... The Story of Jesus Christ is all trie, Jesus exists..Surrender only to Jesus and save your soul from these demons, do not get played... Everything in the book Demons, The devil, and fallen Angels are all true, all these Free Masons, Roscirians, Shamans all deal with Pagan Gods And the Occult... Satans Kingdoms Kingdoms... The only way to save yourself is renouncing everything and surrender to Jesus. All these supernatural powers like telepathy, channeling, lucid dreaming, astral projection is of Hell , never go a psychic or medium, all false and their guides are demons. I learn the hard way, Jesus is the only way...

this book was interesting and very informative. i enjoyed the articles by various people that were laced through the book. although i thought that the random boxes that had text that was already on the page was kind of distracting. aside from that it was a good read.
