Paper Flowers Chinese Style: Create Handmade Gifts and Decorations
This Chinese papercraft book introduces readers to 24 unique paper flower patterns, with techniques for their folding and decoration, and tips for composition, color matching, floral vessels and display.
The 24 patterns are designed to match the "24 solar terms" on the Chinese lunisolar calendar, with six flowers for each of the four seasons. They are ideal for gracing your living room, bedroom, study or hallway, as ornaments on mirrors and bookcases, or as wall hangings and window display, or being made into bracelet, garland and hairpin accessories. Some can look surprisingly realistic, while others are ingeniously designed, all being great for birthday parties, family gatherings, New Year parties and weddings. Beyond my current skill set (super novice). Lots of step by step photos (more than written instruction). I would imagine very useful if I stuck with the craft.

I am deep in the grip of paper flower making. This book is the latest in my paper flower reference library. The book is aligned with the 24 Chinese seasons with a flower for each season. It explains why the flower was chosen and it’s meaning. The illustrations in the how to section are many and easy to follow. Some of the papers used might be hard to come by but I will research them at our Asian paper store. All in all a first rate reference book.
