The mildly implausible setup from last volume continues as Tsukimi is all but abducted from Japan to be a designer in Singapore. She's saved Amamizukan, but at what cost? A good portion of this double-sized volume shows Tsukimi getting a crash course in the ins and outs of the fashion business, and the AVIDY/avidy fashion lines that Kai manages.
Tsukimi's Amars flatmates feel guilty about letting her go so easily, but they are what they are, and continue to be lazy and helpless. They can't even bring themselves to take care of Clara after she's left, and shuffle her care off to someone else at the first opportunity.
Of course, it isn't too long before some portion of the Japanese cast makes their way to Singapore...
I watched a video not too long ago about how the fashion industry--notably the cheap knock-off "fast fashion" portion of it that is represented by brands such as H&M--is a major contributor to pollution, waste, and climate change. (Here is a simple photo essay on the topic.) One brief scene in this volume shows Kai, the owner of Avidy, ordering 9 tons of clothing to be burned because they're out of date, but the environmental effects are not mentioned at all.
I think this is the first time that I've seen people mock Tsukimi for being "fat." That certainly didn't happen when she was in Japan with the Amars. She also has to put up with constant jabs about her ignorance of the fashion industry. She should have stuck with her friends who accept her for who she is!

The plot continues to move at a glacial pace. I'd give up but there are only 2 (technically 4) volumes left.
I continue to be exasperated with the Amars. Please get a job. Not all jobs require talking to people or even going outside. Get some job related to your hobby and sell something on line. It pissed me off when Mayaya and Banba were tired of taking care of Clara after one day and considered releasing her into the ocean. What the hell? Tsukimi saved all of your asses and this is the best you can do?
Tsukimi was better in this volume. I was reminded that she's only 19, so I'm trying to be nicer to her. It still annoys me how unaware she is of anything not about her and her interests. I did like her new motivation of wanting to design for/with her friends.
Kuranosuke also annoys me. This contract is a big deal for Tsukimi and her friends. The house is saved and Tsukimi is learning valuable work skills as well as finally getting out of the house and learning about other people. If Kuranosuke really loves her he should be happy and let her be. Just Skype her or whatever.
In this volume Fish was given more development as well as a back story. I don't like him as a person but I'm interested to see where he goes.
Shu existed... Another character I don't care for. I have to give Kuranosuke credit when he called out Shu for never recognizing Tsukimi in her disguise. That always annoyed me. I don't really want it to work out between them. (Though the ring he bought was sweet)

This series continues to be incredibly charming. This deep into it I don't want to give any more spoilers in my reviews, I'll just say this is the first manga series I'm on track to actually finish in like a decade. Go start at the beginning!

A solid 3.5 stars
I just wanted to yell Tsukimi's name over and over again on this volume because she has such a big heart. The biggest heart of anyone in the book.
She goes above and beyond the Amars and it just makes me want to give her the biggest hug and at the same time wanting to kick Banba and Mayaya. This volume really had me disliking them a lot compared to other volumes especially as Tsukimi's character is showing a want of personal growth and change since she took the biggest risk of her life so far. I forget she's the youngest of the Amars at 19, so I expect some naivety in her character.

Princess Jellyfish is an enjoyable read about two very different people from very different worlds colliding to form an unlikely bond. We are first introduced to Tsukimi who is an otaku. She’s antisocial and has all the usual trappings of someone who could be defined as a geek, big glasses, unkempt hair, and overall doesn’t prioritize her looks. While you might at first glance think that she’s nothing special, you couldn’t be more wrong. Tsukimi has a love for jellyfish, and this love manifests itself in a beautiful display of art. She has incredible talent and needs help growing the confidence to share her creations.
Meanwhile, Kuranosuke is an extremely confident person with a flare for fashion. He is continually pressured to meet the standard of his family but wants to find a way to pursue his passions and lead a less lonely life. While his life as a fabulous cross-dresser might seem glamorous, is life really worth it if you don’t have any real or genuine relationships?
Princess Jellyfish is like reading a fun thought experiment about truly learning how to love yourself and embrace who you are. The art is skillfully drawn and much of the story is quite funny. At the core, this story is beautiful and is a great read for anyone who is feeling a bit lost in life.
Meanwhile, Kuranosuke is an extremely confident person with a flare for fashion. Finally actually done reading it. It's surprising to see the Singapore arc get cut from the drama, but a lot of that and the Kai Fish stuff isn't really what interests me about this series, so maybe it's for the best?
Kind of strange to see how the drama diverges from the manga. There's one episode left in the drama, and volume 8 of this won't come out for a few weeks, so I'll see the end of the drama before the end of the manga.
One thing that would have made the manga a bit better is they should have marked the lines that are spoken in English. It's not obvious at all, and it makes it hard to understand Tsukimi's confusion. Like in Genshiken, they'd mark the English with asterisks or something. Or put the font in italics or brackets.

I still liked it, as I still like the characters; but this one was more fashion-y, which is my least favorite part. Also, stop calling Tsukimi fat! Also, I know Shu is oblivious, but how has he not figured out that Tsukimi has left the country! I'm giving Amars the benefit of the doubt, that Banba and Mayaya are being weird about Clara and Tsukimi's stuff because they feel guilty, but that had better be true!

1) AMARS. COME ON. REALLY? You are starting to grate on my nerves.
2)I am still trying to figure out this Kai guy. Do I like him or not? What is his purpose and intent? How will this all pan out?
3) If you don't care about the fashion industry, you might not care about this volume so much.

I still really like this series, but this volume had a lot of fat-shaming and jokes that just threw me out of my enjoyment each time. It was in the context of fashion and models, but still. Tsukimi and Kuranosuke are still great.

This is so much better than whatever the previous two volumes tried to do. It seemed like every single character was stuck in a rut, but now we have Tsukimi going to Singapore and then Amars living in her absence.

This volume takes a big shift from the other volumes. Tsukimi continues to have her world view expanded. And despite the other Amars not being in this volume much at all, Mayaya and Banba are still humerus when they show up

Finalmente Shu regresa, nadie le dice y luego el entra en negación.
Tsukimi se va, y Kuranosuke decide ir también a Singapur para rescatarla.
Oh y el backstory de Mr. Fish.

I am continuing to love this manga. The characters and the plot. It really feels as if it is still going somewhere important.
I really am not sure what more to say about this series that I haven't in reviews of previous volumes that I have read.
I guess the important point is I would still recommend this series to others.

Things are getting more interesting with more plot development! However, I am upset with the Amara and how they were willing to get rid of Clara after a day of taking care of her! She saved you guys and the building and that is the thanks she gets!!! Also I found it interesting that the character Fish got a backstory!

Not a ton of development, but we learn a lot about the fashion industry, Tsukimi gets her first taste of the wide world, she touches those around her subtly, and Kuranosuke runs after her with a vow to be the person closest to her. But gphe still can't quite come to terms with his feelings.

I love this series so much, the dorkiness of the main character, the various quirky characters and love interests, I just can't get enough!
This is the perfect slice of life, romance, comedy series for anyone looking to read manga and i CANNOT WAIT for volume 8!

I think that out of the entire series, this was my favorite volume. There was such a huge amount of heart in this one that I hadn't really been introduced to previously in the series. I loved it so much!
