Wow, was this book long. It was interesting in parts and boring in others. It was way better than the movie and so different that the cover makes absolutely no sense. It follows post apocalyptic hunter/gatherer Johnny "Good-boy" Tyler as he opposes psychlon oppression. The second half of the book about the intergalactic bank no longer being solvent was especially relevant. Who would have known. This book could have easily been two and probably should have. It is much too long to really enjoy. Toward the end (last 500 pages or so), I was reading it for the sole purpuse of finishing it and moving on to something else.

"Fun, cowboy western like old-fashioned science fiction. Most memorable character is Terl, savoring his kerbango while calculating new schemes for maximum leverage. (Second reading.)"

Eendimensionaal ruimtelijk epos zonder complexe thema's.

L. Ron Hubbard was before his time. I don't understand how you can mistake his writing for a religion however.

Ok so overall a pretty good book. I do believe it carried on to long though. The overall idea was good but it felt like the second half was a completely different tone then the first. Worth reading but not one of my favorites.

I would rush home to read this book when I was out doing my errand. The first two-thirds of this book were great, skip the last third when it turns into Scientology preaching.

The movie was terrible and had no resemblance to the book.

I tried to read this and it was pretty good, but after about 500 pages I realized that it was never going to end so currently I have put this book to the side until I am really bored.
