DISTRACTION by Emily Snow is a stand-alone contemporary romance novel where we’re introduced to playboy thirty-nine year old Attorney Mateo Bailon and twenty-eight year old Jamila (Jamie) Armstrong a paediatric nurse. Spoken in ‘Dual perspectives.’

Their first meeting is under unusual circumstances, Jamie is in his office wearing Hello Kitty Scrubs to offer support to her best friend Lucy who is worried about a lawsuit where all his attention should be focused on Lucy it’s solely focused on Jamie.

I never promise anything more than a good time and a good orgasm and while some are in my life longer than others, they always know better to expect more.

She unnerves him and gets under his skin, where he thinks he has the power over her speaking in his native tongue he’s doubly surprised she understands everything he utters under his breath.

A hot steamy push and pull attraction ensues.

The little nurse who wouldn’t

Whilst Jamie wants her happily ever after, the dream husband with the baby surrounded by the white picket fence.

Mateo wants to hold onto his freedom, his sex parties, and no attachments whatsoever.

Mateo's backstory will bring you to your knees the sole reason why he’s a play boy seeking one nighters over commitments and why he keeps them at arms length without getting attached, but something about Jamie has his defences crumbling down around his ears.

She’s the distraction he wants, he’s the distraction she doesn’t need. But being the persistent bastard he is theirs no relenting over a woman that sparks his interest.

Sparks fly, tempers fry, passion ignites, obsession unfolds, she’s poked the bear and stoked the fire within!!

Loved the push and pull angst in this, the perfect balance, he chased, she ran, this kept me entertained throughout no better way than to curl up on the couch with a coffee in hand and a book that had me from the first page read. .

Covergasm!! That is one gorgeous specimen of a man and he got me in the right mind set to read all about Mateo Bailon!!

I was already intrigued by uber-sensual Mateo when I met him in Friction and I was beyond excited to find out that he was getting his very own story. He and Jamila (Jamie) lit up the pages with their chemistry and I couldn't get enough of them. This story was full of so much tension and I didn't even realize how tense I was until I finished reading and drew my first deep breath.

Jamie knows what she wants: love, marriage, babies, and the white picket fence to go along with them. That was not the life Mateo was after. He was offering a distraction, a little fun for her and a way to forget his past. Jamie was his greatest distraction yet.

I loved these characters. They were genuinely good people who fell for each other pretty quickly (as evidenced in the previous book), even if they constantly tried to fight their feelings. I only wish more time was spent on Mateo's pain. It obviously left a huge impact on him and gave definition to the man he became, but the way it was relayed failed to give his character the depth I expected. I had also hoped for more towards the end. Everything gets wrapped up with a neat little bow, but without getting to witness any of it, it didn't seem believable.

Overall I enjoyed this story and found it entertaining and I would recommend it anyone who is looking for a story chock full of sexual tension and emotional angst.

There is something so irresistible about Emily Snow characters that make you fall in love with them. I have been intrigued by Jamie Armstrong and Mateo Bailon since Friction. And Distraction well... definitely proved to be a distraction because I couldn't stop reading and I wanted more, more, more (you see what I did there hehehe)...

Their instant chemistry and attraction were palpable from the start. While Jamie wants her happily ever after, the dream husband with the baby; Mateo likes his freedom, his sex parties, no attachments. But he also wants Jamie and there is nothing that he won't do to get her.

I enjoyed the push and pull between these characters, learning more about them and what makes them who they are, and ultimately what makes them want what they want out of life. When Mateo pursues Jamie and when she finally lets herself consider something different than what she originally wanted, look out world because this distraction is sizzling HOT! *fans self* There is no one that writes sexy times like Emily Snow!

Mateo's backstory slayed me. I understood why he wanted to keep Jamie at arms distance... but it broke my heart because I wanted him to have a happy, I didn't want him to be alone and because damn, he and Jamie were just so right together.

Readers who love hot, dirty talking men who have pasts that they can't forget yet can still find love in their heart to open up to a new beginning must read Distraction by Emily Snow. Like a said in my review for Friction - she is BACK and going to take the book world by storm!

4 Stars ...... Good
Spoilers Ahead!!!!! Be warned if you proceed

OK, if I am being honest, I really liked the story a lot!!!!! Jamie got on my nerves some BUT all in all I really enjoyed them ONCE she finally got her head out of her you know what, lol. The passion, the sexual chemistry was unmistakeable and I enjoyed all of their intimate moments....

My ISSUE that caused my 1 star deduction was the latter part, near the end. Me personally, I was turned off by Mateo's actions. He leaves, and when I say leaves, he leaves her basically thinking the usual, she is better off yada yada and it really hurt my heart. I hate and I mean loathe when my female lead has to do the chasing in the end, albeit, she wasn't chasing him she had some news to deliver and she had the right intentions BUT I truly believe if it wasn't for her going to him to do the right thing, he would have never reconnected with her. Sorry, I wasn't convinced that he would have eventually gonna after her especially after hearing his inner thoughts and that was such a BUMMER considering he pursued her HARD throughout, I did NOT get that whole part of the story. The author really let me down at that point. Yes, was the Epilogue good, yes, BUT for me I wasn't fully convinced nor fully invested anymore at that point, gosh what a let down:( NOW, this is just my feelings on what went down toward the end and most may feel completely opposite BUT again, that's my own personal feeling.

A very good read, the story had really great moments and if it weren't for that part towards the end, it would have been a 4.5, maybe even 5 stars for me if things had played out differently:( But don;t let that deter anyone, it was worth the read, but because I am getting to be so picky that one part of their story at the end really miffed me, lol, and yet most might not even blink an eye at the situation.....

I loved this story and when I got to the end, I still wanted more. Mr. B's character was so many things--demanding, alpha, arrogant, sweet, caring, vulnerable, sexy, intelligent, slick, a##, loving, passionate. So many things. But in the end so, damn good to read about.

This book started good but it got frustrating. The H and h dance around each other and I finally just gave up. I wanted them to get together already.

When you read a book like Friction by Emily, you think: can she do better than this?

I got my answer and is YES, YES SHE CAN!

Mateo and Jamila are one of the best characters Emily has written so far.

Mateo has his own story, one we don't understand unless he wants to tell us, and ladies? He does in this book, so you need to read it!

Jamila (Jamie), there is no secret that she wants the fairy tale, the boyfriend, the engagement, the wedding and the baby... I guess she just had to go with the flow and be a distraction for Mr. B

This story is full of wonderful moments, stressful ones, but the most important? A beautiful HEA...

Major spoilers below. I could not say what bothered me about the story without saying what ruined parts of the story for me.

The heroine's stupid, BFF, Lucy, releases a picture of the hero hosting a swingers party. Jamie goes to see the hero, Mateo, and help the stupid BFF not get fired. Mateo falls for the heroine at that meeting, the heroine rejects the hero, and they play the game that I love so much. Jamie does not have sex with Mateo for awhile, which is so rare today in any romance book so I was very happy. Anyway, Jamie wants a husband and to start a family. Mateo does not want that so they have an arrangement...no falling in love, but they will not have sex with other people while they are "together". Everything starts out great, but as usually in this type of stories, feelings enter.

I love how Mateo made those comments about not having a camera around Lucy. She was one stupid girl. Lucy was just too annoying and her boyfriend, Jace, was a douche.

The picture of Mateo at his swingers party was him touching one of his friends, Victoria's breasts. This bothered me at first since Mateo says that he really liked and trusted Victoria. However, later he swears they never had sex or anything sexual between them. He was pointing out to Victoria that she got rid of the tattoo of her ex. Whatever...I guess I had to buy that.

The pining over his dead wife got on my nerves. Especially since later we find out that how she died. This dead wife was eight months pregnant and a drug runner for her brother in-law. The explanation was that this "special" dead wife was just trying to help Mateo get through school and help them financially. Mateo was angry with his brother for leaving his wife dying when they got into an accident while running from the cops, but I never felt he was angry at his dead wife for running drugs at 8 MONTHS PREGNANT!!! (Loc 3008 and 3015)

I had some other issues. One was towards the end when the hero and the heroine are on a "break" and the heroine finds out she is pregnant. I hate that because no matter what the hero says at that point, I always think...would he go back to her if she wasn't pregnant? Mateo was going to go back to his sex parties and lifestyle before he found out Jamie was pregnant. Mateo said that while they were on their "break" that he missed Jamie, but the pregnancy kind of ruined it for me. Jamie flew all the way to El Paso to tell Mateo that she was pregnant after he ignored her calls for WEEKS!!!

I was glad that the heroine's sexual history was never discussed. I don't need to hear who the h had sex with.

Some things that Mateo said were shady like him saying he wouldn't touch another woman even if he was tempted. (Loc 1749) Why can't he just do it without pointing it out!?!?!?

This was written in dual POVs which I am not a fan of but this one was done very well. The switch does not happen every other chapter which is what I think helped.

I didn't think I was going to be on board with a story which featured a swinger-esque hero like Mateo Bailon. I was so wrong! Emily Snow really made him swoon-worthy and the perfectly flawed alpha hero! And Jamile "Jamie" Armstrong wasn't too shabby either!

I loved the push-and-pull feel of their relationship. It was interesting to see someone who was not used to pursuing a woman go all out. And Mateo did it so well. I understood where Jamie's fears of being with Mateo came from. Nothing he was offering met any of the things she was looking for in a guy, but those two gave off sparks when they were around one another.

And the story flowed so well, from the beginning to the end. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen between them. I was even worried the book would end on a cliffhanger, and Emily Snow gives as good cliffhanger as she does book, so I was pretty tense for a little bit. I shouldn't have worried, because she managed to not just wrap everything up, but do it in a way that felt just right and appropriate for Mateo and Jamie's story. It answered not only my questions, but also cleared up any of Jamie's lingering doubts about Mateo Bailon and even how Mateo felt about Jamie.

Most of all, I loved being a part of their story. It really felt like I was an observer of everything that happened between them. I loved seeing Lucy and Jace from Friction. I really loved how this book was set concurrently with some of the events from Friction, but someone could pick up Distraction and not be lost with the brief mentions. I would love for Emily to write more about some of the characters mentioned in this book. I think Victoria would make a great heroine, and so would Sonora. I also want to mention another Easter Egg in the form a mention to the Devoured series that made me squeal. I can never get enough of Emily's stories. I'll be happy reading anything she writes!

4 Sexy Distraction Crowns

I was excited to come back to this world and see the man behind the sex parties fall in love, and Emily Snow does not disappoint, giving readers sexy, angsty goodness with Mateo and Jamila.

Mateo is a hero that oozes sex. From the bilingual language that comes out to play to his attention to details and ability to romance a woman, he is a hero readers will swoon over. Emily Snow really shows us that there is so much more behind the man with amazing skills in the bedroom. Jamila is a heroine that readers will absolutely be unable to dislike. She is unbelievably caring, knows what she wants, and, although she has future goals, she is also willing to deviate to live a little and have some fun. These two together are perfectly suited for one another. Their chemistry is physical and emotional, and watching them fall for each other is completely enjoyable.

The story line of Distraction is follows the plot structure one would expect. I will say, however, that I didn't expect the cause of his refusal to love again. That is incredibly sad and really explains his motivation for his previous choices and desires. Even with the expected plot line, their story is entertaining and will keep readers engaged. Plus the ending, encapsulates the essence of who these two become together and as a couple.

Emily Snow continues to impress with this world she has created. It is sexy and romantic, hitting all the right parts of romance.

The chemistry between Mateo Bailon and Jamie Armstrong was fabulous. Both could give just as much as they could get. They were sexy together, they were dorky together-- they were perfect together.
Snow wove in Spanish quotes giving the story a more sensual touch to it-- and made B even more sexy. The story line fit with the characters and the slow burn aspect of the story built the chemistry and tension to a perfect level.
I enjoy Snow's book for the intensity of her characters and that one character doesn't overpower or outshine the other.
This is a perfect distraction to read and I think you'll find B becomes one of your favourite BBF

This had that lovely banter in the beginning filled with sexual tension. When they started their relationship it was sweet and sexy and you can't help fall a little with Mateo even with all his troubles. The book had a little angst, even though it was barely none, it was a good. I enjoyed reading this and it was a good book.

Gah, I did really like the writing, story line, etc. I just can't like completely when she is a DOORMAT. So frustrating. It's no yes no ok no yes no ok - may have even happened more times than that. There are ways to do the volley there without making a doormat character.

LOVE this. Another fun and sexy read from Emily snow. She took us on a wild ride with these two but I loved that we were still around some favorites.

I will say I liked the characters more from he first book in the series, but this could be read as a standalone if you wanted.  Jamie and Mateo were sexy from the start. I love reading the pursuit of them and when things finally came to a head I was hooked on finishing it.

Throw in some baggage and the desire to NOT fall  in love and I really enjoyed this story. Visit some friends int his world and go into Mateo's world.

I hope we get even more in this world. Emily has a way of giving you characters and having you root for them as you read. You become invested and want that HEA. I can't wait to read more.

Ever visited a playroom? Revolving table? No? Well come give it a peek, because these two want to put on a show. They may want a distraction, but what they get is far more.

Distraction by Emily Snow is a stand-alone contemporary romance novel.
For better understanding I recommend to read Friction first.

I read Friction by Emily Snow and thought wow, just wow, how can she top this?
Yes she could and she has. Friction was Jace and Lucy´s book. Lucy´s story spins-off in Distraction.

Jamila-Jamie Armstrong is Lucy´s best friend and holds her hand in a pending lawsuit. She´s 28 year old a pediatric nurse, twin sister to Bella and wants the picked fence, a husband and babies.

And there is Mateo Bailon, 39 year old lawyer and victim of Lucy´s mistake. He doesn´t do love and relationships, but he wants Jamie, badly. He proposes to drop the lawsuit for a ONS.
And now the fun begins.
There is a strong heroine, a stubborn hero and great side characters.
I liked the words and I loved the writing. I could feel the characters emotions in the words.
I laughed, I cried and I suffered with them.
I give 5Stars. Thank you Emily Snow !

There are times Jamie is fed up, and not impressed with Mateo, I mean the man has no manners, "eff, it’s good to see you? I haven’t spoken to this guy in nearly a week and that’s the first thing he says to me?" Mateo isn't one for liking his woman in clothes, “why the eff are you dressed?” he retorts, skimming his dark gaze from my lacy bra to the matching thong and up to my face." I loved this book, Mateo was bossy, demanding, crude at times, and didn't care what others thought.

This was a new author for me and I have to say the blurb alone was what reeled me in.

Mateo Bailon is a gorgeous, sinfully attractive attorney who was very good at throwing parties. Only these parties weren't your normal kind of party. His parties were the special kind that included sex and kink.

Jamie Armstrong is a fierce, strong independent 28 year old woman who is forever dating Mr Wrong. She is looking for the perfect guy and all that he comes with; Love, marriage and babies.

One simple mistake by Jamie's best friend Lucy turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to Mateo. Only we knew it was going to take him most of book to realise this. A photograph finding him in a compromising position is where this story begins. Inadvertently sent to many and not just to the one recipient it was intended for, Jamie. Oops!

Rule number one. Check before you send otherwise you can find yourself in an embarrassing situation as did Mateo. When Jamie and Mateo first connect with each other Jamie isn't impressed. Why would she be? This was a guy who throws sex parties. Even though this was something she had never done herself, she found herself quite intrigued by the idea and him. And I have to say the feeling seemed to be mutual. The only problem was Mateo didn't want anything permanent. Why? Whilst Jamie was looking for commitment Mateo was looking for a distraction. You could tell that something was holding him back and that there was more to it than just simply not wanting to be in a relationship with any woman; Let alone Jamie. Would these two people who belonged together make that happen? Would Jamie uncover the secrets that were hidden deep within Mateo. Would they both get their happy ending? Questions that will be answered.

The sexual chemistry between these two was hot and you could tell that by the way the pages sizzled in some scenes of the book. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to fellow readers and friends. The story line kept my interest the entire time. It was well written and the story flowed throughout. Congratulations to the author. Five stars that are well deserved.

First I want to start with how grateful I am that I was allowed the chance to read Emily Snow’s book for my book blog, thank you! ( Blog name: A Beautiful Book Obsession)
Distraction was such a great read, I loved the chemistry between Jamie and Mateo. They had this instant connection but yet there’s still time for the two of them to get to know one another, to determine how they feel for the other without it being sudden. Obviously they are drawn to one another on a scale of attraction, but below that was so much more.
Mateo is a very commanding man who knows exactly what he wants in life, and that isn’t love. He wants nothing more than fun, and sex is just that for him. When he finds himself wanting to be near Jamie, wanting to be the only man to ever touch her, well he tries to turn off the emotions especially when a family emergency comes up. Mateo thinks that he is doing what is best for Jamie, that he isn’t what’s best for her.
Jamie knows exactly what she wants in life, to find love. She wants a husband and to start a family. When she finds herself sitting in the office of Mateo for her friend, its the last thing she wants especially when the chemistry is so strong, but she’s strong enough to ignore his passes towards her, so she thought. Jamie knows that Mateo will be her undoing, that he will break her heart but yet she can’t say no to having fun with him. The more time that passes the harder it becomes for her to say no to him.
This story is such a great read, and all of the characters not including Jamie and Mateo bring such a light hearted sense to the book that helps you to fall more for it. I must warn, there are some aspects of the story that make it a heartbreaker with loss but it’s also what creates the characters to be who they are. You fall for them, and when you’re reading those last pages you find yourself smiling with how there story comes together, or so I did. I do hope others will enjoy Distraction as I did, consider it an awesome distraction from your everyday chaotic life.

Wow Emily Snow has done it again! She has written another brilliant book that will have her readers hooked and in love. And how can you not LOVE that cover!!! I'm totally in love/lust. Talk about a DISTRACTION!

This book is Jamie (Jamilia) and Mateo Bailon's story. We met them in Friction and the 'photo-gate scandal' that caused the drama that almost split Lucy and Jace up. Jamie is the person Lucy meant to send the private photo of Mateo at one of his special parties in a compromising position. They come face to face when Jamie goes with Lucy to try to talk Mateo out of suing Jace.

The chemistry between Mateo and Jamie is sizzling off the charts. the sexual tension between them is palpable! It made a nice change that they didn't immediately jump into bed together first. Even thought the attraction and chemistry was there they took their time.

Jamie knows what she wants from life. She wants it all, love, marriage and the happily ever after. Mateo doesn't do commitment, all he wants is a distraction, a way to forget the pain of his past. Jamie is his greatest distraction yet.

I really enjoyed this story, I could not put it down until i finished in one evening. Only thing that made me mark it down a star was i felt the ending was slightly rushed. Mateo has gone and left Jamie, made it clear she was only a distraction to him. When she goes after him i was slightly disappointed with the speed at which he said he loved her and wanted to be with her. I would have liked to see more of a fight from him for Jamie. I felt she gave into him too easily. BUT that is probably just me being super picky.

Can Mateo Bailon be any hotter?? (Spoilers)

First of all can I say I'm a huge sucker for hot men who talk to you in Spanish!
So what happens when you have a kinky lawyer who doesn't do commitments but wants to get into the gorgeous nurse with a ticking biological clock?? Argue and talk your way in of course.
Mateo Bailon doesn't do relationships, he does distractions. But when he's in the middle of a very public scandalous picture, his threat to sue brings him eye to eye with the gorgeous Jamie Armstrong who sits across his desk for moral support to her friend Lucy.
Jamie Armstrong is a nurse in the NICU where she deals with babies everyday. At her age and seeing as her ex-fiance seems very happy with a baby of his own, Jamie longs to have her own family. But when Bailon starts to pursue his interest in her stronger, there's only so much she can hold back to the strong attraction they both have.
Bailon is the last man she should want because he's all wrong for her future plans. But yet she decides to have fun with Mr Right Now while she waits for Mr Right.
Mateo has his own secrets to why he needs his lifestyle. Memories from the past that prevent him from even thinking of having anything more than a distraction at a time. But his own attraction and the rejection from Jamie makes him change his strategy towards pursuing her. In the chase his own feelings change. And he finds himself being more drawn to her the more time they spend together.
But what happens when Jamie wants more and Mateo's fears come back having to deal with his family?
Emily Snow definitely won me over yet again in this read. Such a great executed story of Mateo and Jamie. I just love how their story ends. Totally recommend and will even reread at some time soon. Can't wait to read what you come up with next Emily Snow!

Distraction by Emily Snow. I have to say that when I initially wanted to read this book I had no idea that it is was the story of 2 characters from a previous book Friction. I happened to have read a review by another member of my blog and from their review did I find out about the previous book. I can say I did read Friction before I read Distraction. You can read this book without reading friction but I suggest you read Friction first. There are references in the story that will not make sense or will not have the impact they have if you haven’t read the previous book. This is Jaime and Mateo’s story. If you read Friction than you know Jaime is Lucy’s best friend and Mateo is the guy who has the sex parties at his mansion. Jaime has been curious about Mateo ever since she heard about him from Lucy. Jaime is looking for a man but she wants the whole package. She wants a husband, a baby and the white picket fence. She also knows that Mateo does not fit the bill for her life plan but for some reason she just can’t seem to stay away from him. Mateo has demons that he tries to deal with by have sex and plenty of it. He does however have a thing for a sexy nurse in scrubs. He knows what she wants out of life but he cannot stay away from her. Because they each cannot stay away from each other they decide that they will be a distraction for each other. Unfortunately they did not plan on developing feeling for each other. I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between the two was hot and heavy. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this but and I give this story 5 stars.

Review by Lisa Kane

We first met Jamie Armstrong and Mateo Bailon in Friction, Jamie is Lucy Williams best friend and Mateo is the man who commissions Jace to create kinky toys for his playroom. Jamie pleaded Lucy’s case when a compromising photo of him and one of his friends popped up on the internet. A photo Lucy took and thought she was sending to Jamie.

It was obvious at that meeting that Bailon was interested in Jamie. He let her know but she shot him down. He isn’t a man to let that stand in his way and he eventually persuades her to have dinner with him. He’s interested in having sex with her, but not in a relationship. He makes that more than clear on more than one occasion. While Jamie loves a good romp in the sack, she wants kids and a husband and she makes sure he knows that too. They are both playing with fire.

Distraction is steamy and sultry and Bialon, in spite of his player ways is a good guy. He has his reasons for keeping his heart on lock down. But I have to admit that towards the end of the story he frustrated the hell out of me. I kept thinking this guy is making some major screw ups and he’s his own worst enemy- maybe Jamie is better off without him. But of course like most good love stories, the hero redeems himself.

I’m wondering if Bella, Jamie’s twin might be getting her own book. I like these characters-I want more of them.

"You know what the second thing I’d teach you would be?” When I shake my head, he drawls, “that dirty distractions are the best distractions. That, sometimes before you go for permanent, you should worry about yourself first."

The blurb says that Distraction is a stand
alone book. I would have to say that it is
BUT I think you would enjoy it much more
if you read Friction first.

I was hesitant to read this because in Friction
we were introduced to Mateo. Let me just
say Mateo is a sex freak. I didn't really like
him in Friction and was like "meh" when I
found out that he was our hero in this one.

Well, Ms. Snow did an exceptional job of turning
my opinion of Mateo around. I ended up loving
him. Jamie was perfect for him. She was possibly
one of the strongest heroines that I have ever read.
She knew exactly what she wanted and went after
it. She was very decisive in her conversations
with her friends and family. She was not needy,
or clingy and I loved her straight forwardness.

Mateo was a sexy man, who was used to getting
whoever, wherever, whenever. He meets Jamie
and she changes his mind.

This was a smartly written book. Usually when we
are reading about a man whore my question at
the end is "do I believe that he could change".
Well in Distraction, I do. Mateo's past was
written so well, that I believed he was distraught
and sad about his past. I believed that it had
truly changed him into the man that he had
become. It wasn't forced and he didn't live
in the past. I loved that about him.

Jamie and Mateo were just so much fun together,
with some angst, and lots of passion on the side.
IMO this is Ms. Snows best book in a long time.

***4 Very Distracted Stars!!***

The title lives up to its name because when reading this, I was totally distracted from life :-)

I’ve read the Devoured series so when I got the chance to read Distraction, I jumped on it because I really like Devoured and Consumed! The characters Jamie and Mateo are just great!

Jamie is 28 and wants to settle down in life. She wants whole package, marriage, kids, white picket fence. Mateo just wants a distraction to forget about the scandal that is plaguing him currently. They meet under crazy circumstances when Jamie’s best friend Lucy is really close to being sued by Mateo because some really raunchy pictures made its way around the internet, but not purpose. Lucy thought she was sending the pictures privately not realizing they went public. Jamie accompanies Lucy to Mateo office to offer support to Lucy with the hopes to getting him to not sue as the leak was just a big ole misunderstanding. Mateo is instantly attracted to Jamie and vice-versa. From here the games begin!

Mateo pursues Jamie relentlessly and Jamie holds off because she is not looking for some fling. She really wants to settle down. Will Jamie allow herself to be the distraction Mateo wants, or will Mateo come to terms with his past and allow himself to be what Jamie wants??? This was a great read and I am very happy I got the chance to review this one!

Another five star read from Emily Snow. I didn't realise this was the follow up to Friction until I started reading it. When I did realise, I squeed. I loved Lucy and Jace's story, Friction, where Snow seeded Mateo and Jamie's story, and I was pumped to pick up this book and find it picked up where the other one left off. If you haven't read Friction, fear not, everything is explained in Distraction. That said, Friction is well worth the read.

Jamie and Mateo's story does not disappoint. If anything, this book exceeded my expectations. It's set up perfectly from the beginning. In true romance fashion, the heroine has one goal, and the hero has another. On paper, their happy ending seems impossible. But this is a love story, and I loved how Snow had her characters questioning everything they thought they wanted.

One of my favourite things about this book was the heroine. Jamie (Jamila) was tough. She was smart, but she didn't annoy me with her brilliance. Her actions were full of integrity. I liked her and respected her. And the hero? Mateo? I loved hearing this man talk dirty. *Fans self*. Snow writes sexual tension and chemistry with such talent; I am green with envy. I honestly can't wait for this author's next release!

Woah! I'm always banging on about chemistry between fictional couples, but let me tell you Mateo Bailon and Jamilla 'Jamie' Armstrong's chemistry was off the charts.

The book takes place at a point towards the end of the book Friction, when both Lucy and Jamie pay a trip to Mateo. It is here we see just how hot for one another they really are.

Now despite that these two characters have the serious hots for one another, Jamie does put up some resistance which makes for some great sexual tension.

Let me just point out that I am partial to a sex scene or two, I won't deny it, but thats not to say every book I read has to have sex scenes. Ive been quite partial to a PG book over the years however, given the choice, I would choose to read a sex scene written by Emily Snow any day of the week. Boy can that lady write some hot stuff.

This book wasn't just about the sex though. There were times that it really got to me. I felt Mateo and Jamies heartache over their pasts and the story itself was so incredibly thought out and put together, just like the first book.

My only negative, if you can even call it that, was that I was so engrossed in the book I was taken by surprised when I read the final words and simply put, I just didnt want it to end.
