Not only do I want to write, but I also want to share my writing with the world.

I have not been more proud of a completed goal than I am of being able to share #MeBeingMe with you. This story is inspired by my oldest son's (and my own) experiences with challenges, change, and middle school (sometimes it really does suck).

“Me Being Me” by Challa Fletcher is a book I strongly recommend to anyone with children suffering with being bullied or struggling with self-identity. I found her writing style to be unique because she writes from the core perceptions of the main character, Johnathan Studson. From beginning to end, as you read this book, he is in the center of your thoughts and feelings as the author makes apparent the affects people and your environment has on your self-development.

I was reminded of my own transition from sixth grade to seventh grade. When she mentioned how all your good deeds and rewards achieved up to sixth grade are irrelevant as you start the journey up the latter in middle school. Now, I understand more clearly why it was difficult not for only me but my class who walked with me since kindergarten also suffered with this dilemma. Challa Fletcher did a beautiful job connecting with children who go through this transition. I felt like I was there in the school experiencing the children’s struggle to understand why they were making the choices they were making to feel normal.

“Me Being Me” is a book that for sure needed to be written. It will help not only children but parents and teachers as well to understand this surmountable experience each child must endure. Thanks for writing such an amazing book.

This is a middle school book, and I think most middle school kids would enjoy it. I know that I did. Getting a great idea for a project in school based on his own horrible beginning of his middle school year experience gives one boy an opportunity to develope the #mebeingme hashtag. And it is a great idea that creates a lot of problems! As in life, all does not necessarily end well, but also, as in life, the reader should learn some valuable lessons.

Fletcher has a flare for writing. Good editing is needed for the book, but her ideas and style are winners.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.
