School's Out

Rate this book
Samantha Hill can't wait to leave Hawthorne College and spend the summer with her boyfriend Aaron, New York City. But when she actually gets there, country girl Sam is overwhelmed by the dirt, noise, and crowds. She can't see any of the glamour and excitement that makes Aaron call New York "the greatest city in the world." Suddenly Sam and Aaron can't agree on anything at all, and after the big fight, Sam heads back to Hawthorne.

But then Sam's high-school boyfriend, Jon, shows up, hoping to rekindle their old romance, and Sam realizes she has no more in common with him than she has with Aaron. Jon, hurt and disappointed, goes back home, and for the first time since tenth grade, Sam doesn't have a boy to depend on. Has she grown up enough during freshman year to make it on her own?
