Great book but could be triggering for some.
This book has a great love story in it, but it also has traumatic events. I personally love the story and love the ending. With that being said, there are a couple of scenes in this book involving rape. It’s not the type of book that uses rape as a type of kink though. The character goes through the trauma of rape and you see her struggles and fears. These scenes could be very triggering for some, I understand that, but overall it’s a great book!

I am in LOVE with this author! This is the first book I have read by her and holy cheese balls!! This was epic. And dark, and witty. And everything in between.
Shadows in the Deep End delves into the world of drugs, prostitution, and dark secrets. And let me tell you, Catherine did such an amazing job writing this story.
So much detail, it was flawless.
I love dark reads and this definitely fulfilled my desires for the darkness lol I was seriously surprised with the twists and turns this book presented. I laughed, I cried, I cringed. And I loved this so, so much!
If you haven't read it, you need too! Because you are missing out!

So let me start this review saying this rating was only to do with the content of this book and what my preferences are when I read a book. I was provided this book as an ARC in return for my review and as a fan of Catherine Black's previous books and I feel bad I didn't love this one like I did the others. So I'll say this book is written well the author is very talented and writes a book that flows well but between the 40% to the 75% mark (approximately) of the book I skimmed a lot as I wanted to see what happened in the end but not being a fan of the content I wanted to do it fast.
I did like the friendship between Karson and Savannah and they way they looked after each other and Tyson and Cole were really likeable characters but if I had known Karson ended up involved in prostitution (and not just involved in that type of world which is what I assumed) I would have given this book a miss. But I know there are readers out there who won't care about this aspect of the book and I would urge you to give it a try if you are one of those people because this author is a great writer and therefore you will get a great read. I am glad I persevered so I could see what happened in the end.

You know those stories that suck you right in from the start? Yes, This is one of those stories!! I loved most of the characters and I was happily sucked in the story when WHAM!! I get delivered a blow I wasn't expecting. To say I was floored is an understatement!! This book was one of those page turners where you cannot stop reading and turning from page to page because you just have to know what comes next.
I smiled from ear to ear and I yelled and cried and smiled and went on a emotional roller coaster but it was the best ride yet and Catherine Black sure knows how to get this girls emotions going!!

Catherine Black has outdone herself!
Moving in a darker direction than her previous books, she gives you a glimpse of light, hits you with the heavy, and brings you out into...well, calmer waters.
This is definitely NOT like her Till Park Series!
With amazing writing, lovable (and hateable - is that a word??) characters, she takes you to this amazing small town and let's you feel and travel with these characters as they make their way.
I'm really hoping that some of the minor characters end up with their own book!
Grab this one, and plan your trip to Teller...

I loved everything about this book! I loved all of the sweet and romatic, and the dark and twisty! It all tied together perfectly into one amazing storyline! I couldn't wait to finish the book!

Whoa, this was such an awesome read! This was one book where I just didn't want to, and in fact, barely did put it down! I started it one night before bed, which was a mistake, because I was up way later than my "bedtime". I knew there were some things in this book that could possibly be triggers for some people, including rape, but with the description of the book, I just HAD to read it. It sounded so good, and I definitely was NOT let down!
Catherine Black definitely knows how to suck in the reader just to keep them up past their bedtime, and to keep them turning page after page! This is a darker turn from her previous book that I have read and the one I am reading now. This book has amazing lovable and hatable characters in it, and honestly, I can't stop hoping this book has a sequel or becomes a part of a series, because I would love to learn more about some of the other characters!
