Ας μη θεωρηθεί πως δε δίστασα πριν πάρω την απόφαση να μελετήσω τη φιλοσοφία και το ιδανικό της αναρχίας. Αυτοί που πιστεύουν ότι η αναρχία είναι ουτοπία για το μέλλον και μια προτροπή χωρίς συνείδηση για την εξαφάνιση του πολιτισμού μας, είναι αρκετοί. Για να ξεκαθαρίσουμε όμως τη θέση μας από τις λογής προλήψεις θα έπρεπε ίσως να αναπτύξω θέματα που είναι δύσκολα να αναπτυχθούν σε μια διάλεξη. Άλλωστε πριν από δύο ή τρία χρόνια ακόμη, ο παρίσινός τύπος δεν υποστήριζε πως η φιλοσοφία της αναρχίας είναι η εξόντωση και πως επιχείρημά της είναι η βία; Ωστόσο, τον τελευταίο καιρό έγινε πολύς λόγος για τους αναρχικούς, ώστε μεγάλο μέρος ανθρώπων να ασχοληθεί με το διάβασμα και τις συζητήσεις των όσων πιστεύουνε.

Pyotr Alekseyevich Kropotkin, prince, Russian anarchist, and political philosopher, greatly influenced movements throughout the world and maintained that cooperation, not competition, the means, bettered the human condition.

Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin (Пётр Алексеевич Кропоткин, other spelling: Pëtr Kropotkin, Pierre Kropotkine), who described him as "a man with a soul of that beautiful white Christ, which seems coming." He wrote many books, pamphlets and articles, the most prominent being The Conquest of Bread and Fields, Factories and Workshops , and his principal scientific offering, Mutual Aid: A Factor of Evolution . He also contributed to the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition .

Ετούτη η διάλεξη μου δίνει περισσότερο την εντύπωση μιας εισαγωγής στις σταθερές του αναρχοκομμουνισμού, και λιγότερο μιας συγκροτημένης, εις βάθος ανάλυσης της φιλοσοφίας της αναρχίας. Ορμώμενος από την τελείως απογοητευτική προσωπική του εμπειρία σχετικά με την ρωσική διοίκηση και γραφειοκρατία, που τις καυτηριάζει ως διεφθαρμένες και αναποτελεσματικές μέσα απ’ την ενδελεχή του εμπλοκή και παρατήρηση, και όχι δίχως κάμποσα μικρά λογικά άλματα, ο Κροπότκιν εξηγεί πολύ εισαγωγικά πώς ο αναρχοκομμουνισμός είναι ένας έμφυτος, ενστικτώδης προσανατολισμός που καταπιέζεται από το Κράτος, πώς τα δυτικά πολιτεύματα βιάζουν αυτή την εσώτερη τάση, και πώς οι πολίτες οφείλουν να δράσουν για να διεκδικήσουν την κοινωνικοπολιτική ελευθερία που εκ φύσεως δικαιούνται. Κρατάω περισσότερο τα εξής:

«[…] η ποικιλία και η σύγκρουση είναι ζωή, και η ομοιομορφία είναι θάνατος».

«Δεν χρειάζεται να φοβόμαστε τους κινδύνους και τις καταχρήσεις της ελευθερίας. Μόνο εκείνοι που δεν κάνουν τίποτα, δεν κάνουν λάθη. Όσο για ‘κείνους που δεν ξέρουν άλλο απ’ το να υπακούνε, πέφτουν στα ίδια και σε περισσότερα λάθη απ’ όσους αναζητάνε τον δικό τους δρόμο, προσπαθώντας να δράσουν προς την κατεύθυνση που τους υποδείχνει η ευφυΐα τους και η κοινωνική τους μόρφωση».

Κι ο τρόπος που κλείνει ο Κροπότκιν, που λίγο με εντυπωσίασε και λίγο με προβλημάτισε, τόσο ως μη τεκμηριωμένο λογικό άλμα όσο και ως απλή σκέψη:

«Αν θέλετε, όπως εμείς, να γίνεται σεβαστή όλη η ελευθερία του ατόμου, και, συνακόλουθα, η ζωή του, δεν μπορείτε παρά να καταλήξετε αναγκαστικά στην αποκήρυξη της διακυβέρνησης ανθρώπου από άνθρωπο […]» (sic).

I am not sure if i should or can rate political books!! But anw this was very interesting. There is generally much propaganda against anarchism so reading about its true philosophy and ideology fascinates me!! The ideas here are very interesting and the arguments made! I would like to read more of Kropotkin's work!!

From a lecture presented by Kropotkin on the philosophy of anarchism highlighting varying governance situations and overviews coupled with existing states of affairs...
In closing he states: "If you wish, like us, that the entire liberty of the individual and, consequently, his life be respected, you are necessarily brought to repudiate the government of man by man, whatever shape it assumes; you are forced to accept the principles of Anarchy that you have spurned so long. You must then search with us the forms of society that can best realize that ideal and put an end to all the violence that rouses your indignation."

I'm always amused by those who claim that anarchism is not viable because mankind is too, take your pick, selfish, violent, stupid, to exist in a world of voluntary restraint and mutual aid. But in this country, every two and four years, somehow we barely functioning, seething and ignorant degenerates are courted to vote for persons who will rule over us by coercion, or Kropotkin says so eloquently,"...by those same masses of mortals which are supposed to be endowed with all stupidity in their mutual relations but become wisdom itself when they have to elect their masters." Kropotkin makes cogent arguments "that the best of men is made essentially bad by the exercise of authority" and that the State, with its orbiting minions of law and law enforcement, the church and capitalism, exists solely to subjugate the 99% by the 1%. "When we ask for the abolition of the State and its organs we are always told that we dream of a society composed of men better than they are in reality. But no; a thousand times, no. All we ask is that men should not be made worse than they are, by such institutions!" He speaks of the common denominators: alliances based upon block and street and neighborhood and community, workers themselves controlling their workplaces, and where basic needs of food and shelter are met. While recognizing that there will be individuals of personal violence and disregard of the rights of others, he postulates, rightly, that this must, and will be dealt with but that direct State violence, as well as indirect but condoned violence of the oligarchs, has and will far surpass the other. Does Kropotkin offer blueprints, vast flow charts? No. Kropotkin and Bakunin's anarchism is a profound statement of hope, belief in the essential mutual goodness of uncoerced man and the courage to say, "Let's break these chains that benefit so few and imprison so many and see what happens!"

Με αρκετή ψυχραιμία, ο Κροπότκιν γράφει ένα σύντομο κείμενο εξηγώντας την βάση της Αναρχίας. Ορισμένα σκεπτικά είναι παρωχημένα ναι, μερικές προβλέψεις βγήκαν λάθος, αλλά αρκετά επίσης παραμένουν επίκαιρα, παρά το γεγονός πως το κείμενο δημοσιεύτηκε αρχικά το 1898. Σίγουρα δεν είναι τυχαίο πως η θεωρία της αναρχίας παραμένει ζωντανή, όπως και ο πόλεμος που το Κράτος της ασκεί.

Ο γείτονάς μας μπορεί να πεθαίνει της πείνας, ή να σκοτώνει τα παιδιά του – αυτό δε μας αφορά, είναι δουλειά της αστυνομίας. Μόλις που γνωρίζεστε, τίποτα δεν σας ενώνει, όλα τείνουν να σας αποξενώσουν τον έναν απ’ τον άλλο και, μη βρίσκοντας καλύτερο τρόπο, ζητάτε από τον Παντοδύναμο (πρώτα ήταν ο θεός, τώρα είναι το Κράτος) να κάνει ό,τι μπορεί για να εμποδίσει τα αντικοινωνικά πάθη να φτάσουν στο απόγειό τους.

Κείμενο με μεγάλη ιστορική αξία.

Η απλή γραφή του και το γεγονός πως βασίζεται σε πραγματικά προβλήματα της εποχής του, με τα περισσότερα να υπάρχουν -με άλλες μορφές- μέχρι και σήμερα, είναι ένας από τους λόγους που οι ιδέες του παραμένουν ελκυστικές, ιδιαίτερα στους νέους που από τη φύση τους έχουν την τάση για αλλαγή και βελτίωση των κοινωνικών σχέσεων.

Το μειονέκτημα της φιλοσοφίας του Κροπότκιν είναι ότι δίνει απλοϊκές απαντήσεις σε πολύπλοκα προβλήματα.

Mi primer acercamiento al anarquismo. Tengo mucha curiosidad por saber más y entender por qué cada vez es más difícil imaginar vivir rn una sociedad anarquista; por qué hay menos pensadores que lo discuten. Kropotkin is certainly right in pointing out that the modern state has been more often a force for repression than a force for good. He is also right in pointing out human society has a great ability to self organize in productive groups and to develop great webs of connectedness that make life run well in many ways without state intervention. But then he makes a leap to the conclusion the we have to abolish the state and that human society will be able to run just fine without any government. I don't think so. Government may be often evil and repressive and much of what government does is done poorly, but I think that is only an argument for limiting government, not for abolishing it. I guess you need to have a sort of nineteenth century faith in iron laws of history and historical inevitability to real buy into the anarchist pitch. I am a bit more of a cynic. I am not so sure where we are going and think that we just have to muddle through, and I am afraid that we need at least a limited government to do that.

Γραμμένο το 1898 οπότε το να το διαβάζεις εν έτη 2020 μόνο σαν ανάλαφρο ουτοπιστικό διήγημα μπορείς να το πάρεις ! Ο Κομμουνισμός κατέρευσε σε όλα τα πλάτη και μήκη του πλανήτη και η αναρχία είναι το αγαπημένο άθλημα των παιδιών των βορείων προαστίων !
