Trailer - https://youtu.be/kQIw34ynAsc

After the sudden death of his wife two years ago, Darren Griffin has finally found peace. He has a good life, good job, two daughters he’d do anything for, and a beautiful home on the beach.
Greer Monroe is grieving the loss of her father. It’s the final rung on the broken ladder that’s become her life—crappy job, no friends, and a cheating ex-boyfriend. At the insistence of her aunt, Greer decides to spend some time at her family’s beach house.
When the glee-filled sound of children’s laughter dances through the breeze, Greer finds herself smiling again. The neighbor girls are carefree, depicting a life Greer has only dreamed about. Husband, children, happiness—a family. And their father, Darren, he’s everything a woman could ever want.
But it is, of course, only a dream.
She can’t stay at Carolina Beach, no matter how much she adores Darren and his daughters. She has responsibilities at home, a mother who needs her. Where there’s love, there’s heartbreak, and she can’t go through that again. And she sure as hell won’t do that to those little girls.
But Darren isn’t letting her go that easily. It’s been so long since he’s felt this way for anyone. Greer is his missing piece, a piece he never thought he’d find.
Saying goodbye is hard, but sometimes starting over is even harder.
Only when they dare to dream again, will they ever dare to love.

This is an incredibly sweet, adorable and enjoyable read. I prefer the books I read to not be so sweet or precious. I need more grit and action but despite that fact I still found it touching in ways and it hit the spot. I was craving for some things while reading the book that I didn’t know that I was looking for.

Now I might be contradicting myself here it has been known to happen. I liked it and I didn’t. I’m an absolute sucker for a hot daddy with rugrats. And Darren in this book is no different. He has two little girls Violet and Vivian that he dotes on. He lets them paint his toenails hot pink. Freaking adorable.

Greer takes a break and moves out to the beach house in Carolina Beach. After the loss of a family member and the bloke she loves cheating on her. She realizes that she doesn’t love him. By spying on the hot neighbor next door and his two adorable girls takes her mind off other things.

I liked the build-up between the two main characters and I felt as if it all did progress naturally. Darren realized that enough time has passed and that it is time to move on. Greer gives him that extra nudge. To me Greer never felt second best. They have chemistry and it all instantly clicked between them. The cynic in me finds it hard to believe but I guess these things do happen.

The dead spouse trope is also always quite hard to do because thinking about it means that if the spouse was still there then the MCs wouldn’t get a story. It worked here and I didn’t mind so much. Also giving the Hero a second chance at love isn’t always my thing. But once again it worked here.

I like the authors writing style and she has a great eye for creating extremely likeable characters as well as bringing out a lot of emotions while reading the book. I enjoy the authors work and I think that if you are looking for something sweet and low angst then this is the book for you.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

The story is really good and kept hooked until the end.
A grieving young woman meets a young widower and his two perfect daughters living next door to the beach house that she escaped to heal, and they become the key to mend not only her heart but also their own.

The story is almost angst free between the main couple, and everything happens pretty fast, but I liked anyway.

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

What bothered me here was the Narration.
The book is told from dual POV, but there's only one female narrator, that doesn't distinguish her voice to any character.
It's the same flat voice/tone for male, female, children, elderly...
So I guess that this ruined a bit of the audiobook experience for me.
A duet narration, or even a more expressive narrator, would make wonders to this story.

It's almost 4am and I just got done reading DARE TO DREAM by Author C.A. Harms! OMG. DARREN. And his two little girls?? Oh, my heart!!!!! This book is a MUST!! The perfect Valentine's Day read if you're in the mood to swoon and be swept off your feet by the dreamiest man EVER.

Full review now posted below:

CA Harms knows how to break your heart and heal it, all within the pages of one book. She knows how to masterfully write an emotional romance that fully covers the value of second chances. From each one of her books, I've come to expect an amazing story, and let me tell you, she never disappoints.

"You're my forever," he whispered against my neck as he slid inside me ever so slowly. "My today, my tomorrow."

The story behind Darren's character will make your heart ache. You can't help but feel for the man! Loosing his wife, the love of his life? Uh, tear-jerker! His two little girls are the most adorable characters EH-VER. Oh, my heart! They are just too adorable!! I could see why and how easily Greer fell in love with them! How could she not?

Greer's story is not as heart-breaking as Darren's, but still quite emotional. Losing her dad and coming home to find her boyfriend doing the tango with another woman STINGS....badly! A vacation is just what she needed!

Darren and Greer could not have met at a more perfect time. Their story is very much realistic, and I love that! CA shows us the insecurities they both feel as they're getting to know each other, mainly Darren with being a single father. Seeing him worry about how his relationship with Greer could affect his girls is truly something that melted my heart while reading, and it was spot-on!

"I feel like all those dreams I had as a little girl have finally come true and for once I'm being granted the happy ending I've always only dreamed of."

Such a GOOD book. A beautiful, sexy, and fun story that had me glued to my iPad from beginning to end. In true CA Harms fashion, this is a must-read! FIVE STARS!

I don't think I have read any of this authors books before (I may be wrong), but I will definitely check out more of her work.

I don't want to say to much. But this book started on a very emotional point. Greer just lost her father. The one man who was her friend, her hero and so much more and now she lost him. So with going through this traumatic experience she needed comfort so she goes to her boyfriend who lets her down when she walks in on him and another women.
This is all too much for Greer so she is grieving her father's loss and a cheating boyfriend.

So her mother and aunt thinks its a good idea for her to go away and just find herself and just get over her heartbreak and her loss
Staying at Carolina Beach she meets Darren and his girls. And that is where she finds her happiness again. Where she learns to laugh and love. But she is also apprehensive of this, because now she invested and when the minute you get invested in things that's when you open your heart to heartbreak and loss.

Will she be able to move on and learn to trust her heart or will she walk away from maybe the best thing that has ever happened to her

I loved this story, it was a typical romance story filled with so many emotions and giving you all the feels. And bonus for me I love books about single dads.

Definitely one of my fav romance books

Darren is one yummy single dad!

Greer is broken up by her dads sudden death and heads to the beach to figure things out. Seeing a man play with two his two little girls brings her peace. Meeting him brings a whole lot of other feeling out.

Darren is doing the best he can taking care of his daughters after the death of his wife. He hasn't even remotely thought of finding another woman until he meets the mysterious Greer.

Both are trying to figure out their lives and how to move on. Finding each other brings them both peace but only if they are willing to accept it.

I'm totally in love with Darren he is such a sweetheart with the way he takes care of those little girls.

Love love loved this book!

Dare to Dream by C.A. Harms is book one in The Carolina Beach series
This new novel by C.A. Harms will pull at your emotions ; The prologue will definitely grab your emotions in a heartgrip and not let go. My heart felt so much for Greer—her beloved father dies and she goes to her boyfriend, who happens to have been a close childhood friend and caught him cheating on her. Her world just fractured into many pieces all at once. To get away from all the pain at home, she takes off and goes to Carolina Beach to heal and stays in a relative’s beach house which is where she met this special man and his beautiful children—and his name is Darren. Darren is raising his two precious children after losing his lovely wife suddenly. He finds his new neighbor gorgeous but shy. He isn’t looking for a new wife or mom , but he wouldn’t mind a friend.
The interactions between Greer and Darren are really moving and so beautiful. There are some humorous parts to the story but overall, this is a story about loss and what the heart is willing after a heartbreaking loss. Fate does also come into play – I don’t want to say too much but just have to say—Darren’s family- #TOOFUNNY. You are going to love every bit about this new series – from the location, to the precious children , to the characters, especially the characters in this story. Darren and Greer make this story and the ending is just their beginning.

From the cover to the very last word, I loved everything about this book! C.A. Harms has this way with characters and stories that take hold of you and bring you into their stories to the point that you feel you know the characters and can feel what they are going through. Darren (deep sigh) is a widowed father of two who has made it his mission to love his girls and guide them through this life with all he has to give. Thinking he had his once in a lifetime love, he is going through life with his family and his two little girls being the absolute best dad. Then one day fate throws him a curveball in the form of a guest in the neighboring house who awakens feelings he hasn't felt in years. Greer needed to get away after the horrible loss of her father who was everything to her and then the end of a lifelong friendship that Greer fooled herself into thinking may be more. From the moment Greer meets Darren and his girls, they all feel the connection and the story gets even better from here! The Griffin family and the Monroe family will make you laugh out loud so many times and you may even see some members of your own family in them! C.A. Harms took this story and combined a story filled with grief and tears, but then added in love and happiness to make a wonderfully sweet story!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved both Darren and Greer. Can I just take a moment to say; I wanted to junk punch Tucker. He was selfish; he couldn’t commit and be loyal to Greer yet he didn’t want her with another man.
I loved the bond Greer quickly formed with Violet and Vivian, its super cute. I liked every single thing about this book. It is definitely a book I will be reading again.
This story is a heart-warming second chance romance. A story of opening up to love and giving love a chance.
I could have easily devoured this story in one sitting. But I forced myself to pace myself and make it last. There isn’t a book of C.A. Harms that I don’t love. I cannot wait to see what she has up her sleeve for her next release.

After the sudden death of her father, Greer Monroe is heartbroken. Stuck in a rut, Greer takes up her aunt’s offer of getting away. Quickly settling in at the beach house, her neighbour catches her attention. Darren Griffin is a single father to two sweet little girls. Having already found and lost his one true love Darren never expects to fall in love again. As soon as Darren lays his eyes on Greer he feels an attraction. Despite still grieving her father’s death, Darren and his little girls bring light to her life. Darren loves how happy Greer makes his girls. Violet and Vivian instantly accept ‘’princess Greer’’ and are in awe of her. The more time Greer spends with Darren and his girls, the harder she falls. Will she finally get her happily ever after?

Oh my Darren is so love at first sight. picturing him with his girls was so easy for me, I could see why Greer was so in aww of him and wanted to watch from afar. Greer is away tying to find herself since losing her father and seeing what a ass her ex really, meeting Darren has open her eyes to a new side of herself and what she wants but she has obligations that requires her to go back home. She can't go through another heart break and she won't put Darren or his girls through one. Can Darren get her to give them a chance.

Darren is a dream come true

CA Harms does it again! At the core is a sweet and caring man who has two beautiful girls. After losing his wife, he has to find the strength to carry on and give his daughters a life full of love and happiness. That is his only focus until Greer moves into the vacation home behind his house.

Greer is struggling with losing her father. She is sent to Carolina Beach to find her self in the despair that she is lost in. Watch her neighbor, Darren, interacting with his daughters helps soothe her soul!

You are going to fall in love with Greer, Darren and his daughters! Beautifully written story with characters that you wish were in your life! Totally fell in love!

The this is comfortable elegancy about this story and by saying that I don’t mean that the author has dialled back any of the romance because Greer and Darren could very well be the poster couple for perfect partners.
Greer has the day from hell when her father passes away, but life hasn’t quite finished with the heartache because when she gets home she finds her so called boyfriend Tucker up to his eyes (and other bits) in another woman…let’s just say that her fortitude surprised me, she kept her decorum and gave him the elbow…Game Over Tucker!
Moping around is more than a little tiresome but when her aunt extends and invitation to stay at the family holiday home in Carolina Beach, I wondered why Greer was a little reticent at first after all there was nothing holding her back now that Tucker was out of the picture or at least he would be if he took the hint!
But she did me proud, packed her bags and headed for the coast.
Darren had suffered as much as Greer, the unexpected death of his wife Lynn had left him alone to raise his delightful daughters and while they were the apple of his eye, that didn’t mean that he was blind, he couldn’t help but notice his beautiful new neighbour.
From the time they first met, there was an easy familiarity between the two of them, I could almost picture his wife’s spirit guiding the two of them together. Greer was superb with his girls, she was so maternal for want of a better word, they bonded instantly and I worried that my hope for a happy ending as maybe going to have unwarranted casualties if it all went pear shaped!
But what I did know, was that this pair were headed one way and one way only and I…along with both of their charmingly hilarious families was willing them along every step of the way.
The story was super cute, super romantic and fabulously uplifting.
This was a second chance at life not just romance. Two souls drawn together, connected at their very core and refusing to let their opportunity pass them by.
Quite simply beautiful!

Sighhhhhh...... I'm still emotional after reading this book. I cried sad and happy tears from the beginning until the end. My heart was bursting out of my chest while reading this book.

Greer lost her dad unexpectedly and while trying to get a grip on the terms that she was never going to see her father again, she caught her boyfriend in bed with another woman. Instead of being depressed she felt relieved and saw him for exactly what he was. Her mom and aunt wanted her to get away from everything and to find herself again since she was still depressed from losing her dad that they sent her to Carolina Beach. And that's where she met him; the delicious widow with two beautiful little girls.

Darren lost his wife after the birth of their second daughter and he has been a single dad ever since. His girls were his world and he always put them first. Then he met the blonde, blue eyed angel. Their relationship built slowly but it was so beautiful to watch.

The girls adored Greer just as much as Darren and she loved them back also. Darren family and even his late wife family adored Greer. This book also had its moments that will have you laughing your a$$ off. With Greer's mom, aunt, and gran combined with Darren's mom, get ready for a stomachache with all the laughing with these women.

What I really loved about this book was there is no drama and both the heroine and hero were kickass. Greer wasn't a pushover and Darren was all swoony. Definitely a 5 star and one of my top 5 reads so far this year. I really hope the author has plans for a novella on this beautiful family.

If you've ever read a CA Harms book you know she loves her HEA's and her books light on angst and drama! She's an author I have come to love and I stalk her page religiously!

This book was about Darren and his two daughters Vivian and Violet, the death of his wife and the girls mother shook him to his core and he doesn’t think he will ever move on. Darren is one of the sweetest men ever and also an amazing dad, he loved his daughters more than anything in this world and does everything he can for them.

Greer’s world has also been rocked, she has just lost the one man who meant the most to her, her absolute hero. Then to add insult to injury is betrayed in one of the worst way’s possible by someone who is supposed to be her best friend. Her family think she needs a break and sent her to Carolina Beach where she meets Darren and his two bully daughters.

The relationship between Greer and Darren develops pretty quickly, they have such a strong connection that neither can fight the pull to the other. It helps that Darren's daughters also love Greer.

The characters in this story worked their way into my heart and totally made themselves at home, Violet and Vivian were two of the most adorable, sweet and bubbly children I have ever read about and you couldn’t help but love the two.

This book definitely tugs on your heart strings, these characters have both lost so much but work through their pain and realise they have something special. It is a book that touches on loss, grief, cheating ex’s, intsa-love and happily ever after, I loved it and can’t wait to see what comes next from this new series.

I loved this book although I think it should have been called How to Fall in Love with Book Characters. Dare to Dream was one of those books I didn’t want to end. I wanted more.

This is the first book I’ve read which has been written by this author, but after finishing Dare to Dream, I know I’m going to read more of her work. Her words flowed effortlessly across the page. I not only became involved in the story, but I became involved in the characters. Every character had a part to play in Greer and Darren’s story, even the one I didn’t like.

But don’t for a moment think this book is all flowers and sunshine. There were times when I was sad and maybe ever worried about the outcome of this book. However, I will say I finished Dare to Dream with a smile on my face, a big one at that.

OH, my heart. This story is so beautiful and fun! There are tears - especially because Greer's loss is one I've experienced, and their relationship mirrored my own in so many ways. I highlighted a few things that were just so exactly how I felt about my own.

And Darren! Darren & the girls exude love and affection and amusement.

This story is another 100% perfect read, for me, as I enjoyed every single beautiful, lyrical moment. Also, lots of laugh out loud moments. *grin* I absolutely recommend this story, it's a favorite, a keeper, a re-read!

Oh, and p.s. - that cover is AMAZING and also gets two thumbs up!! : )

This author has done it again! I am so in love with her writing. The way she weaves words together to create such emotional stories. This book is just another example of why I never have to read her blurbs anymore. I know that it is going to be a great book, so I like going in blind. She is an automatic one-click author for me. This story was incredible. I love the route she took with the single father. I absolutely adore these kinds of stories. I love the emotional level the man attains by being the sole responsible party to his children. Darren is the complete package. Great father, provider, brother, son. I love his relationship with his family. Greer is exceptional. She never has that "oh god he has kids" moment. She is a very emotional person who can't keep herself from falling for Darren and his girls. They both are grieving their losses, but find that is easier together. This story will definitely be at the top of my Top Reads of 2017 list.

Dare to Dream is the first book in the highly emotional Carolina Beach series and a book that made my top read list of this year already. Full of heart, heat and second chances, Harms moves readers with her powerful and addictive words in this beautifully heartbreaking book that is sure to take you on an emotional roller coaster with highs, lows, and everything in between.

Who knew one swoonworthy man and two sweet little girls could steal your heart...

What happens when two scarred people find each other? Will they find healing, redemption, and love with each other? Will they fight for what they could have? Or will they day goodbye and dream of what could have been?

Get ready for this amazing romance that packs a serious punch to the heart and chest while leaving you fanning yourself, needing a little cool air.

I highly recommend this book.

We all have dreams. Some come true and others remain a dream for us. In this book, we see both characters have a dream and after the loss and grief these two endure, it is time for some of their dreams to come true.
Greer, not only loses her dad, but on the same day she loses her so called BF. At the suggestion of her aunt, she is going to Carolina Beach for a much needed break. Hearing the laughter of kids in the house behind you, brings a smile to your sad face and is a turning point in your life.
Darren, you may be at peace with yourself after the sudden death of your wife and be the happiest you can be with your life, job and for those amazing little girls, but you deserve to move on and be happy too. Lynn would not expect you to be single forever and as long as that women is good to those girls she would want you to move on. Seeing Greer in the blue house, just might be from Lynn. Greer is the angel that you and those girls need.
From the moment, Greer met Darren and those girls it was like they knew each other for years and not seconds. You would never know from afar that Greer was not those girls momma. Lynn will always be in the girls, whether via a memory that you continue to share with them or within their looks and personality.
I don't know what was funnier and cute, the passion from the very beginning between Darren and Greer (let's not forget the immediate spark with those girls) or their families. OMG those family members will have you laughing along with embarrassing you too!
Can Greer go back to her responsibilities at home or will her heart allow her to make a move to Carolina Beach? Darren is going to stop at nothing to show her that she belongs in Carolina Beach with him and those girls. Some people only find one great love in their lifetime, whereas, others get a second chance at love. Darren will never forget Lynn, but Greer was led to him for a reason and completes the missing puzzle piece to his story and a chance at a HEA. Can both their dreams come true finally or will they continue to dream of their dreams one day coming true?

Dare to Dream is definitely a different romance story. This is such an incredible story of loss and then finding love.

Greer is devastated after losing her father unexpectedly. She needs her best friend and most recently turned boy friend Tucker. When she finally tracks him down she discovers where he is, between the sheets with another woman. Now Greer has lost her Father, best friend and boyfriend. She doesn't even feel bad over losing Tucker but she does know that she has lost her friendship. Needing some time after the funeral her mother takes a trip and suggest she goes to the beaches of North Carolina. After escaping to the beach house she thinks this exactly what she needs to get her life back in order. The property is back up to another property and every night she goes out to sit on the porch. This is when she sees her next door neighbor and his 2 little girls play outside. The little girls laughter seems to relax Greer and she enjoys watching them from afar.

Darren is a widow just trying to raise his 2 daughters the best he knows how. Finding love again is not something he things he can do especially after losing the love of his life. Darren over hears a phone conversation between Greer and her mom and realizes that he should meet his neighbor in person. A trip to the beach with his girls is how he runs into Greer and then discovers she is just the distraction he is looking for. Spending time with Greer is his #2 priority after his girls of course. Greer and the girls seems to have a great connection from the start.

I loved how Darren wanted to include his girls and Greer loved them from the start. I highly recommend this book. I just loved how both families had their own type of "craziness"! I look forward to reading more from her.

Another absolutely amazing read from CA Harms. This book had me gripping my chest, wanting to kick some ass and almost in tears within the first 10%. I couldn't get enough and after that beginning to Greer's story I wasn't about to stop reading.

Both Greer & Darren have known loss. granted in different aspects with people they love but loss knows no bounds. and losing someone you love is never easy. having gone to her family vacation house to get away and find a new direction in her if she never expected to meet Darren let alone his 2 beautiful daughters. Darren is not only a single dad but drop dead gorgeous.

OMG their families... I couldn't get ebough. Greer's gram is flipping hilarious and some of the things she says will have you laughing out loud and shaking your head. there is absolutely no filter on that woman. and Darren's mom, she is a meddler but the way she does it is just awesome. Haha.

this is a light hearted read about two lost souls trying to find themselves and in turn find each other. Can they be what the other needs? Find out when you one click a book that will give you feels all the way through and have you rooting for both of them.

can't wait to see who gets a book next in this series. I hope it's Darren's brother Dean :-)

This is my first experience with this author and one that I'll more than likely be repeating. This 5 star story was everything that I hoped it would be and so much more.

Greer goes through a sudden devastating loss, in order to get a breather and step back, she goes to Carolina Beach for a month. She's really mesmerized by the single dad with 2 little girls that happen to be her neighbor. Darren is not looking for anyone to replace what he lost. But while he's not looking, he finds her, Greer.

This is a great romance with a swoon kind of sexy single dad. I love those kinds of storylines that includes a single parent with little kids. Children, especially ones as sweet as Violet and Vivian. They make the stories so much sweeter. I basically read it in one day because it's so consuming and it captivated my undivided attention from the first page to the last one read. I even laughed a few times too. These families are really hilarious. Dean, Darren's younger brother was quite entertaining. I would love to get his story. Hint, hint. Bottom line is I wouldn't want to change anything about this story.

Standalone told in a dual POV with a great HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

I absolutely love CA Harms’ books. Her writing is smooth and all the scenes make you feel like you are there with the character. The stories are heartfelt and well told. Dare to Dream was another one I could not put down.

When reading the first chapters of Dare to Dream I was not feeling #TuckertheFucker. He just seemed like a shady playboy. At the time Greer needed him most, he was cheating on her with some skank. I was proud of how Greer handled herself. You could tell she was more mature than her now ex. I’m not sure I would have been as calm, but she had other things to worry about, now that she lost her dad. She was completely lost. When her aunt offers her a change and a break, she convinces herself this is just want she needed.

An absolutely beautiful story that encompasses all the wonderful elements of a love story, you close the book feeling like that HEA is really happening.
Its refreshing to occasionally read a book that makes your heart swell up with so much emotion that you literally get goosebumps. There wasn't a ton of drama, so if you're big on the drama/angst/back and forth thing, you might not feel completely satisfied after reading this book. However, if you are into a beautifully written story that has you feeling the love leap from the pages, then give it a go. I promise you won't be disappointed.
